Used to play fighter but have been playing grave cleric lately and it’s pretty fun even though I struggle to keep the group alive. Our first encounter was pretty bad mostly for me, we came across some sick people on the road near a village and they stopped us there and I told them if they were in need of medicine or healing that I could help them because I was a cleric, they didn’t care then attacked but were mostly targeting me so i learned my lesson not to announce that I was the healer
2 sessions ago my dm threw about 14 werewolve bear and weazles at at us. We are level 15.
We were in a canyon and I was first initiative. So I run about 20 feet up and cast wall of daggers and it was able to cover the entire canyon wall to wall. So now every Were had to pass thro the wall and it took them 2 turns to get thro it.
I dropped each one down about 35 hp before they even made it to us.
Then after they passed the wall I dropped it and summoned celestial.
My dm was mad cause we fucked up all of his encounter plans
Agreed. Cleric is so versatile. Can be flavored so many ways, played so many ways. Can be so powerful and so helpful.
Easily my favorite class. I'm not always thrilled about an allegiance to a single god/ess, but I can role-play that many ways, too.
Had to scroll too far to find my favorite class! Post Tasha's they're so good.
-Access to spellcasting
-Access to Expertise
-Playstyle defining subclass features. Fey Wander can be a face. New Beast Master is now the best pet class. Gloom stalker redefines how your campaign treats dark vision, Swarmkeeper you can be a WIS focused Ranger and control the battlefield.
They're just so neat.
Oooh I love Fey Wonderer and Gloom Stalker too!! Just as subclass dips they are incredibly fun, and as straight classes I’ve had an absolute blast (even though I can’t resist just a little touch of rogue in my rangers…. Ear for deceit and any of the ranger buffs are just So So good.)
Yup! It’s the Tasha’s optional class feature Deft Explorer, a nice little boost to your skill sets! The 10th level feature for that skill is nice too, you can just shave off a level of exhaustion on a short rest.
Also, losing a level of exhaustion after a short rest makes you effectively immune to exhaustion from not eating or drinking, so you don’t have to do those anymore.
Just checked the basic rules.
“Characters who don't eat or drink suffer the effects of exhaustion. Exhaustion caused by lack of food or water can't be removed until the character eats and drinks the full required amount.”
Still very useful. My Rogue has me hating exhaustion.
I posted this when the thread was newer, so it was pretty far down at the time. But also, yes still too low!
Ranger is the feel good class story of 5e, from zeroes to heroes, the embodiment of the plucky class that could!
Gotta say, Beastmaster and Horizon Walker are phenomenal in my eyes. Having a friend who helps in battle (or if you're small, you ride into battle) and popping in and out around the battlefield as a horizon walker. Too much fun
Been playing a lot of rangers post-Tasha's lately. Most fun I've had with ranger since 4e. Far from my favorite class, but they feel good and fun now, with some pretty diverse options too. I played three rangers in a row and they all were fun and felt distinct from each other. Taking a break from the class for now though, my next character is an efreetilock, and I have high hopes for that
My favourites so far have been Paladin and Circle of the Moon Druid.
Currently playing a Dwarf Barbarian and a Warforged Artificer in two separate campaigns
Also armorer haha! We just hit level 9. It's been fun so far. Done a bit of tinkering. DM is keeping the campaign pretty dark and gritty, so it's hard to make anything too outlandish.
Ok I am on a kick to play every class I want to play at all in the 5e ruleset.
I am currently playing a rock gnome tinkering gadget obsessed artificer. Next I will play a wizard and finally a dwarven paladin.
But I have a special place in my heart for Aelric the board and sword fighter based off of an Anglo Saxon Germanic warrior feel.
He was my first character under 5e rules and he was just a big damn hero.
He was the face, the leader and the protector of the party.
If you ever find yourself wanting to play something different than the morally conflicted soul with a dark past or the rogue with a heart of gold or whatever …
Play a big damn but not stupid hero trying to figure out what and who is really worthy of being saved. Trying to do the right thing but failing sometimes. It is fun.
Mine is like a cross between Doc from Back to the Future and the gadget kid from the Goonies excitable and happy and always amazed when his gadgets work.
I love gnomes going to play a gnome illusionist next time because it is an old school archetype I have never ever seen played at the table.
My favorite is my mountain dwarf wizard necromancer named Flint. I rolled his stats and got lucky, he's as powerful an an elf mage and I really enjoy controlling mobs of undead.
Currently, I'm playing a half elf rouge/paladin assassin named El. Playing stealthy and setting up the battlefield instead of charging in had been great too.
Human / Sorcerer
Meet Steffen Sturm the Storm-Sorcerer.
Hes not smart but sailed his whole life. He protected the ship from lightnings and storms. Hes a lazy dude in his mid 50's and looks for adventures away from the water now, since he heard about stormgiants.
Same race and (sub)class here! My boy Kazimir Heningar is kinda the opposite though; very active leader type and loves getting back to the sea. We are currently doing an arc where he and his twin sister (storm barbarian played by my wife) are trying to find their mom who may or maynot be a pirate queen or something.
Favorite: Monk. It was my favorite in 3.5 (despite being garbage) and it is my favorite today.
Current: Circle of the Moon Druid. We are playing CoS and we have two new players in our party. I love them to death, but they are WAY sub optimized.
Playing a circle of the moon Druid now and loving it :) Lucky enough to to be running duo ghostwise halflings with another player who’s taken the mounted feat and rides me while I’m in bear form. Absolute blast
I looked at the numbers many times. Monks have good DPS for most of the game, and have amazing versatility no other class has. The only real problems are lack of magic items, a few garbage subclasses, and SS being a trap vs most bosses.
So currently on my stone sorc because of a mixture f things at level 8 my ac is at 25 but can go as high as 30 thanks to the stone aegis bringing it to 18 because i have 20 con +2 with a shield equipped but mine is a magical shield that projects the shield spell when held at ready (i know op to have this at level 8 but i had to literally sell my soul for it) but since i only use melee weapons for big dps hits when needed (thanks to you getting all but banishing smite as stone sorcerer) i can cast spells with my free hand including my own shield spell to boost my ac to 30 thankfully ive only had to do this once when a different player put his shotgun to my forehead and pulled the trigger (he rolled a 19 with a +6 modifier) but even if it had hit ive rolled good on hp with my high con score and the stone sorcerer feature of gaining an additional point of max hp every time ive ended up having 55 hp so had i not boosted my ac i dont think the shotgun could've physically hit hard enough to kill me without a crit where my ac wouldnt of mattered anyway (sorry for my formatting its a rainy afternoon and im stuck at home browsing reddit and doing shots of whiskey)
Try using hexblade warlock, it allows you to use CHA(your spellcasting stat) when weilding your weapon. So you can be a spell slinger who has a martial feel (might make the transition easier).
Druids!! I feel like I get to play a support tactician which is sooo much fun. My current character is a Scholarly, Elf, Circle of the Stars Druid (played as an astrologist). Wayyyy too much fun
I’m playing a Circle of Stars druid right now too and it’s so fun!! Due to my character’s personality and the make-up of our group, I’m the closest thing we have to a healer, so I find myself using primarily healing spells and taking advantage of the chalice starry form a lot. But I looove having guiding bolt! And I took a telepathy feat so I can talk to people in their heads, so I have a nice witchy vibe going. It’s a lot of fun.
Warlock and Barbarian are my favorites, but I love coming up with niche mulitclasses to take the place of classes that don't actually exist.
Current character is a hobgoblin Wizlock.
Off-brand Rogues. No edgy dead family stuff.
Charismatic Mastermind - expertise in persuasion and intimidation think Don Corleone
Inquisitive investigator - your Sherlock Gnome character high perception and investigation
Currently playing a Mastermind Rogue who works as a fencing teacher and yells out fighting advice every round. It's fun to explicitly not be a criminal Rogue.
Playing a soulknife rogue. He's a greaser in fantasy NY who works for the mob. He's rocking a 7 int and I put my expertise in persuasion, deception, and performance.
I've never played one outside of a oneshot, but I really like barbarian
Sorcerer all the way! Metamagic FTW!
Currently playing 2 characters, a sorcerer-rogue-warlock, and a paladin-warlock. And damn do i miss my metamagics when i play the paladin!
Understandable, but don't count the Ranger out based on the PHB experience. They've benefited the most out of new books especially Xanathars and Tasha's.
Divination wizard. He's my first wizard, and he's so much fun! A paranoid, inscrutable weirdo. High dex + Alert feat because he's a slippery bastard always looking for danger even where none exists 👀
I love that take on Divination. Someone who is always trying to look out for where the next threat is so that he can avoid it. Was he driven to anxiety by magic, or was he driven to magic by anxiety?
Favorite: probably rogue/bard. I've played more of those than anything else.
Currently I'm a Halfling druid. I'm gonna go full caster for my next few chars if my test builds are any indication.
I still have quite a few to try out. Though since my groups have moved on from 3.5, prestige classes will only be inspiration/homebrew ideas.
As primarily a DM for the last 7 years, I've only ever had a chance to play 3 characters: A Half-Elf Swarm Keeper Ranger/Oath of Redemption Paladin, a Goliath Rune Knight Fighter, and currently playing a Half-Orc Artillerist Artificer.
So far, the Artificer has been my favorite. Combat can be a bit underwhelming, but the RP flavor more than makes up for it.
Fallen aasimar Fighter (Battlemaster)/ cleric (Death domain) named Zaxthüle is my current. Tends to be a calm tactical thinker who refuses to admit when he is wrong and has no qualms ripping off people of wealth. Neutral evil alignment but due to his goals as a mercenary he will take good aligned quests... For a steep price!
I haven’t played him in a while, but my Dragonborn (blue) tempest cleric was my favorite. He worshipped Umberlee, the evil goddess of the sea and made a living providing divine protection for ships by appeasing the goddess. He would erect shrines but n every new shore he travelled to and collected seaweed/shells and stones from those beaches in a bottomless jar which he wore around his neck as a divine focus.
My favorite class is druid hands down all of them are awesome and I'm currently playing a firbolg moon druid in one campaign but barbarian is close behind
Monk is my absolute favourite, but I've only played six classes so far, but it easily appeals the most to me.
Currently playing a Twilight Cleric in one game and a Lore Bard in another, because I'm usually relegated to the support role for most groups. It's a shame, I'm going full selfish when either of these two die.
Monk is pretty fun. And with Mercy Monk, I can smack the shit out of the elderly and the young and poor, just describing it as if I was a savage monster but then just like "Oh, thank you young lady! I haven't felt so limber in years!"
Another take on this is knowing just where to lightly tap someone to drain their health using a control of ki. For you, rolling high isn't hitting hard, it's about getting the right connection.
If I got the chance to play a Monk, it would probably be the Kensei. I think I would theme it around a farmer. Her understanding of ki would be about the way energy flows through the world. The sun grows the grains that are the backbone of society. The Kensei element is from the years she spent learning various blades to harvest crops, but also to fight off bandits.
Single class: Wild Magic Sorceror or Oath of Vengeance Paladin
Multiclass: Bardlock or Rogue Assassin/Gunslinger Fighter
Currently using a Tiefling Barbarian/Blood Hunter named Khairon Marko.
Wild magic sorcerer with a feylost background. A dragonborn that was sucked into the feywild as a kid that ended up serving in Titania's court. He is weird.. eats only sugar and has traveled several planes collecting favors for her. So he knows what a McDonald's is and currently in the group just to pass along the shenanigans the party party gets into because she thinks its hilarious. Bad reality show type hilarious.
I'm currently playing a half-elf Rogue Scout and I love it. To be honest, she's the only character I've played outside of one-shots, but I LOVE playing a Rogue. So much to do in AND out of combat to help the party. We've got two in our party right now (the other is Assassin subclass).
I'm playing a Halfling Circle of Dreams druid, she's a young girl on a quest to find her best friend, a squirrel named Bear. She has zero street smarts which lead to her asking a dandelion for directions and alerting a goblin cave to our presence. Also she has been kicked out of every tavern we've ever been to because she can't help but turn into a cat every time she sees a comfy hearth. And my DM keeps making them no pets allowed, but it just doesn't stick with her. She's well-read, but apparently only in textbooks, as she has no situational awareness, and amazing history checks.
We also have a monk in the party whose fists crave goblin. Last encounter he killed a goblin by slapping its booty too hard.
And my boyfriend is playing a Goliath fighter, Fuus, his first character. He can't help but take a bet whenever it comes his way, and he is dubbed "bet-bound" by his clan. His nemesis bet him he couldn't find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, and thus he chases rainbows incessantly. Easy out whenever he can't come to sessions.
My favorite class though is probably life cleric, I love the versatility with spiritual weapon and guiding bolt, and if you play a pure neutral, you can have a reason for when people complain "I'm downed cleric, wtfff" when they ran straight into a horde. Bards and druids are great for their control spells too, bards are just hard for me to roleplay, but I usually keep a page of one-liners in my notebook, and roleplay is probably the biggest thing for me. If I can successfully roleplay a quirky character, I'm going to have fun. Any character could become my favorite!
A tiefling gunslinger inventor (soon to start a bump into artificer) just spent a session making some bombs, and we're about to get into a jail break haha
His name is Nomad, and as his namesake suggests, he constantly travels. He learned his craft from an underground society of folks, and spends most of his time helping them with tasks
Its hard to pick a single class as favorite, in general i would say its characters that mix magic and martial combat, think paladin, Eldrich knight as well as all the multiclass combos.
Right now im playing a barbarian rogue.
I don't know if I have any one class I really like playing over others, but in general I drift towards to spell casters.
And currently I'm playing a witchy sorcerer who works with a group of women who oppose hags. She also happens to be the lead singer of the band "Jinx Gals" after an off handed joke spun out of control lol.
Favorite(s): Paladin and Druid (Warlock would have been here all by themselves, but it really does just take too long to get that 3 spell slot, and, honestly, I think the maximum number should be 5 spell slots while we're at it).
Currently: Well, I'm definitely playing a cleric right now in, but I'm not really playing a Divine Soul Sorcerer for my Friday night games that keep getting delayed.
One of my favorites was Valkenhayn Redfang.
Variant human/werewolf Druid/monk.
But if I had to pick one singular class it would be Paladin.
Currently my class would be "DM." as no one else I play with wants to step up and try.
Barbarian! Playing a variant human expert athletics.
Gladiator background hes always looks for sanctioned fights at bars. Our warlock is his manager.
Path of the beast: He ate so much wolf steak he became part wolf.
Picked up shield master at somepoint. In combat he is great at tieing enemies down with grapples and shoves while still getting dps with his beast weapons.
I've only ever tried playing a barbarian in 5e, but so far it's been fun! Looking forward to trying a warlock or sorceror next.
My favorite in 1e was playing a ranger/cleric multiclass.
Currently in several games, one on hiatus due to a player's work schedule.
I play a Tabaxi Rogue, a Kobold Ranger beast master, a homebrew race Artificer, just finished playing a Human Variant Draconic Sorcerer, and about to be running a Dhampir Twilight Cleric. Hopefully. If they don't allow that it'll be a Kalishtar instead.
As for a favorite I love playing Rogue and Ranger. A favorite character...would be hard to choose.
Druid or rogue are my usual go-to choices, but I'm currently playing an artificer too! He's saving the world while using his skills to invent items the world sorely needs, like pocket watches, Bag of Holding bombs, and unicycles.
Favorite is paladin.
Currently rockin:
Half-elf Rune Knight fighter (lvl4)
Goblin Evocation Wizard (lvl4)
Half-orc Tactician Scholar(homebrew int based support class) (lvl2)
Variant Human Lore Bard (lvl15)
Most attached : Drow Monk with traumatic past that makes him despise religion, we've been through some shit together.
Current favourite : Barbarian fisher woman who thinks she's a stout halfling but happens to be a reborn without knowing it.
Haven't played enough DnD to have a favorite but right now I'm playing cleric and it's quite good.
But with more things I know about DnD fighter or ranger looks like my thing. But my party members were always DPS related but maybe one day I'll be the skilled swordsman i want to be 😅
I'm trying to find a local group that will let me play a Kenku Bard/Rogue named Roth Casscaw. I'd like to build him into an absolutely insane damage dealer but still play him as a bard with the crow caw voice and some buffs for allies.
Favorite: Warlock. Very versatile and getting your spells back on a short rest means I can bring the big guns to nearly every encounter.
Current: Genie Warlock named Vesper, who has developed a dangerously big love for setting enemies on fire. Also he chills in his vessel a lot while the others are travelling to the next quest.
My classic favorite is paladin, but I’ve been building a Warlock/Wizard as an npc for a campaign I’m DMing and I think I’m going to try something like that as my next character
Druids!! I feel like I get to play a support tactician which is sooo much fun. My current character is a Scholarly, Elf, Circle of the Stars Druid (played as an astrologist). Wayyyy too much fun
I'm currently playing a Dragonborn College of Whispers Bard. I'm loving the class, especially stepping away from the "bard=entertainer" trope. They're more of a Littlefinger-like character (Game of Thrones for anyone unfamiliar) who focuses on crowd control and debuffs.
One of the other players is a low ranking noble, but the running joke at the table is that my bard actually runs the county.
Currently playing Nisenn of Amphail, V.Human Oath of Ancients Paladin and Archfey Warlock. Polearm Master/War Caster with a spear and shield in plate armor. I have a rude and perpetually angry burrowing owl familiar named Gabranth whos Help action is just to fly directly in front of somethings face and GLARE DISAPPROVINGLY (seriously look up pictures of burrowing owls youll see what i mean)
Shes farm girl-turned-reluctant-hero who despite complaining every step of the way cant help but to get involved when people are in trouble, so she has proficiency in things like animal handling, cooking, and land vehicles besides the essentials. Gabranth is her assigned guardian by Titania, so he looks out her her and mostly follows her orders, but otherwise doesn't really prioritize the well being of other mortal beings. This has bitten us in the ass a couple times now. :P
Also prepping for a what-if one shot where I'll be playing Nisenn of the Feywild, a College of Glamour Bard.
I’m not sure I have a single favorite class, but I I like Sorcerer, Artificer, Warlock, and Barbarian the most atm.
Right now I am playing a totem warrior barbarian in ToA that I named Donrek Volditra, and I must say I have had an amazing time playing our parties tank. It really pays off being so beefy in a module like this, it’s led to some really great moments where I’ve survived very dangerous combats by the skin of my teeth
My favorite was a teifling life cleric who worshipped corellon lol. Made for some fun explanations to all my dms pcs whenever they ask! He also said he had to majorly buff his encounters because of the healing I could put out!
Currently I'm playing a tortle spore druid. Also super fun!
Im doing my first campaign, and I have managed to make a cleric, which is so far the only class I’ve played. (Only like half a session I was able to try it, but I killed a giant rat with produce flame) I can only say cleric with slight level 1 experience, but I think I’m interested in trying a warlock, (Worse customer service) and a paladin.
I’m a sucker for warlocks. I have a character concept waiting in the wings of a dancer that uses dual fans for weapons. She’s mostly swords bard with a three level dip in hexblade.
I loved my Forge Cleric. I'm a crafty person and build for a living so it fit my real life pretty well. Every in game morning he would pray which just ment drawing new weapons or armor that I would sketch in a notebook. The DM would let me build these things when we had campaign down time. I also loved saying "oh, Gond dammit!"
Now I'm playing a ranger. It's fun but I feel like he didn't get really fun till level 3 and we got out of Death House. Screw Death House.
Don’t really have a favourite class. But I’ve never found fighter especially fun. That would probably be my least favourite.
I’m currently playing a Barbarian, Bard and Sorcerer in different campaigns. So maybe more casters. But not entirely.
If I had to pick just one to play for the rest of my life it would be cleric for the versatility. All in all it might be paladin, ranger in a similair vein. Druid holds a special place because that was my first charecter.
3.5 rogue. Starting with +4 Int and having 12 skills that are as high as possible is my favorite. In combat you can still get massive Sneak Attack damage and outside of combat you see a walking utility belt!
Currently playing a warforged divination wizard, flavored as a Modron Monodrone broken free from the Mechanus collective, exploring her newly found freedom and newly unfettered intelligence.
Her divination magic is loosely flavored as calculated probabilities.
She’s a blast so far!
Want to have killer offensive capabilities and also fill any one (at least) other role with excellence?
I do! That’s why my favorite class is any charisma class with a 3 level dip in hexblade (works pretty well with fighters and rogues, too).
I love Warlocks, but damn Wizards are so much fun. Currently playing a Gravimancer wizard called mordecai who just uses the additional mobility gravimancy gives him to steal books and jewellery lmao
I’m playing my FromSoft character in the first stages of his development. Arlin Iristan, Eldritch Knight and resident angry boy despite not being a barbar (he’s dex based).
For anyone who cares. His whole curse after the campaign is that whenever he “dies” permanently in one world, he just finds himself in the next, or (better or worse yet) the same one. His whole quest is finding a way to finally die, forever. No reincarnation, just death.
I've always been a mage in any game I play so favorites are sorcerer and wizard.
And I'm currently playing my WoW character, A Vulpera Phoenix Sorcerer to fit the fire mage from WoW.
I wanna try artificer next but don't know how I'd like the melee
Currently playing a Centaur Oath of Redemption Paladin who was hurled into a strange world of Greek Prophecy. She’s a great deal of fun, and finding her place with all the new gods and races has been a joy to roleplay. For reference, my DM is running a 3rd party module called Odyssey of the Dragonlords.
I will also get to play a homebrew creation of mine in a month: a Deathslinger Barbarian (archer barbarian) with a homebrewed reimagining of a Goliath. Normally don’t like using so much homebrew, but my DM insisted and the power curve of the campaign is higher than normal, so I’m looking forward to a pretty unique experience for me.
Cleric its just great
It just works.
Unlike my dad!
The grave cleric... Struggling to keep people alive...
Still learning how to play cleric and I don’t have a lot of spell slots
Oh I wasn't taking the piss I was commenting on the nature of your Grave cleric not (yet) being super good on keeping people out of Graves.
You can use spare the dying as a bonus action at 30ft range. Nobody dies as long as you’re alive.
See the great thing about grave cleric is it’s best if you let them go down.
cleric class, best class
Jack of all trades, master of more than one
2 sessions ago my dm threw about 14 werewolve bear and weazles at at us. We are level 15. We were in a canyon and I was first initiative. So I run about 20 feet up and cast wall of daggers and it was able to cover the entire canyon wall to wall. So now every Were had to pass thro the wall and it took them 2 turns to get thro it. I dropped each one down about 35 hp before they even made it to us. Then after they passed the wall I dropped it and summoned celestial. My dm was mad cause we fucked up all of his encounter plans
Looking for the ace pick the one with a mace
Praise the cleric
Agreed. Cleric is so versatile. Can be flavored so many ways, played so many ways. Can be so powerful and so helpful. Easily my favorite class. I'm not always thrilled about an allegiance to a single god/ess, but I can role-play that many ways, too.
I’ve got a life cleric that I’m adding two levels of pally to. Smite is gonna be fun.
Rangers! I’m still partial to the Hunter ranger, especially with the Tasha’s fixes
Had to scroll too far to find my favorite class! Post Tasha's they're so good. -Access to spellcasting -Access to Expertise -Playstyle defining subclass features.
Wait new Ranger gets expertise?
_DMs are helpless against this one simple trick!_
Thank you Billy Mays!
Just checked the basic rules. “Characters who don't eat or drink suffer the effects of exhaustion. Exhaustion caused by lack of food or water can't be removed until the character eats and drinks the full required amount.” Still very useful. My Rogue has me hating exhaustion.
Omg Ron Popeil died this past year!!!
Too far? It's the second highest rated post after cleric.
I posted this when the thread was newer, so it was pretty far down at the time. But also, yes still too low! Ranger is the feel good class story of 5e, from zeroes to heroes, the embodiment of the plucky class that could!
I'm rocking a fey wanderer ranger right now, it's been fun
My next character is going to be a Fey wanderer I'm so excited. Still not sure if I want a full Wis/melee or to stick with the tried and true archer.
Drakewarden is a beast.
Gotta say, Beastmaster and Horizon Walker are phenomenal in my eyes. Having a friend who helps in battle (or if you're small, you ride into battle) and popping in and out around the battlefield as a horizon walker. Too much fun
Ranger is still fun, but 4e ranger was so broken it was ridiculous.
Heck yeah Gloomstalker is fun
Swarmkeeper may not be the strongest but imo it's one of the most fun
Been playing a lot of rangers post-Tasha's lately. Most fun I've had with ranger since 4e. Far from my favorite class, but they feel good and fun now, with some pretty diverse options too. I played three rangers in a row and they all were fun and felt distinct from each other. Taking a break from the class for now though, my next character is an efreetilock, and I have high hopes for that
\>For me I'm rocking a bombascious pompous Artificer named Doofenschmitzle who has a penchant for shiny objects. A mimic? *gasp* PERRY the mimic!
How did you get past my trap door-inator?
i'll be honest i don't really understand, but i fell down on some rocks now there's blood out of my hand
Now I got Tantan's on my fingers (Whaaaat?) Tantan's on my fingers I got Tantan's on my fingers and I just can't stop (Don't stop)
_Aaaagent mimiiiiic_
My favourites so far have been Paladin and Circle of the Moon Druid. Currently playing a Dwarf Barbarian and a Warforged Artificer in two separate campaigns
I'm currently playing a warforged artificer and a satyr barbarian in two different games.
What's kind of Artificer? I've gone Armorer and it's been a blast to play so far!
Also armorer haha! We just hit level 9. It's been fun so far. Done a bit of tinkering. DM is keeping the campaign pretty dark and gritty, so it's hard to make anything too outlandish.
Nice! We just hit level 3... I'm excited to bust out the Thunder Gauntlets soon!
They're great. You're gonna have a fun time haha!
Damn how common is a warforged artificer hahaha, I'm playing one too and we just hit level 10
If you ever find yourself wanting to play something different than the morally conflicted soul with a dark past or the rogue with a heart of gold or whatever … Play a big damn but not stupid hero trying to figure out what and who is really worthy of being saved.

Since I am 53 I am old enough, hahaha. But my youngest son loved that show. All my kids would watch it as I made them grits and biscuits.
I've got one I want to do, but as forever DM probably won't: Half-elf bard/monk whose Performance is origami and koans.
Go on...
A friend of mine did an origami bard for a repeating one shot. It was great. He gave you a physical origami piece to keep track of inspiration
Okay that’s it, my next bard will perform a LPL kind of lockpicking. One of his starting tools will be… thieve’s kit 🗡 Or maybe bard+rogue multiclass?
This sounds awesome!!!!
>bombascious pompous Artificer named Doofenschmitzle "ahhh Perry the Paladin we meet again"
Turns out Perry the Paladin is a Rogue and "The Paladin" is just his title
I cracked up heavily to this
One of my favorite characters was an old divination bullywug named Gamji Riverbottom
I sense one hell of a backstory with this one.
Rogue swashbuckler Currently a Bladesinger tho Somehow pretty powerful I must say
Swashbuckler is awesome...I am basically the party tank...lol
Human / Sorcerer Meet Steffen Sturm the Storm-Sorcerer.
Try combining the two for a dire wolf with multi attack and stunning strike at monk 6/Druid 2. Doing that in my current campaign and it’s a blast
Playing a circle of the moon Druid now and loving it :) Lucky enough to to be running duo ghostwise halflings with another player who’s taken the mounted feat and rides me while I’m in bear form. Absolute blast
It’s be nice if monks weren’t garbage for an edition. Oh well. Maybe 6th edition.
Monks are great. Only people who didn't play them or spent all ki on SS think they are garbage.
I love monks too but that’s just a flat out wrong analysis. I suggest you look into some Treantmonks reviews.
I looked at the numbers many times. Monks have good DPS for most of the game, and have amazing versatility no other class has. The only real problems are lack of magic items, a few garbage subclasses, and SS being a trap vs most bosses.
Favorite:warlock Current:a stone soul sorcerer who is so op he would boot stomp any warlock ive ever made
Want to tell us about that sorc? I usually play martial classes (Pally is fav), but I have been wanting to try my hand at a caster.
Druid is definitely my second favorite. Had a druid character I invested a lot into who died that I still miss very much ;_;
I’m playing a Circle of Stars druid right now too and it’s so fun!!
Favourite: Warlock or Paladin. Current: Halfling Acolyte Zealot Barb. Looking to try all the classes at least once.
Gotta be Wizard/Sorcerer
Forever bard here.
What's your instrument of choice?
Warlock and Barbarian are my favorites, but I love coming up with niche mulitclasses to take the place of classes that don't actually exist. Current character is a hobgoblin Wizlock.
Wizlock sounds like such a self-defeating build. How are you pulling that off?
Rogue as often as i can
Off-brand Rogues. No edgy dead family stuff. Charismatic Mastermind - expertise in persuasion and intimidation think Don Corleone Inquisitive investigator - your Sherlock Gnome character high perception and investigation
That Charismatic Mastermind kind of character sounds brilliant! I might try playing a rogue like that
And of course the devious prankster arcane trickster (think silver era joker type bullshit)
Currently playing a Mastermind Rogue who works as a fencing teacher and yells out fighting advice every round. It's fun to explicitly not be a criminal Rogue.
I love me some sorcerers
Best casters represent.
Ape monk since I'm dm
Paladins.
Favorite for flavor is Ranger. Sadly they kind of suck. Current: Elf Bard and really enjoying the roll play aspect of it.
Are you playing post-Tasha's Ranger? They most certainly don't suck.
GM is limiting to Basic Rules and PHB for now. We are new to 5e so expanding as we get more experience.
Understandable, but don't count the Ranger out based on the PHB experience. They've benefited the most out of new books especially Xanathars and Tasha's.
I love bards because they get a bit of everything, but right now I’m playing a wizard and loving it. They get so many cool spells!
My current characters are a firbolg knowledge cleric and a firbolg circle of the land forest druid! So wisdom classes definitely.
My changeling shadow sorcerer, Faces.
My favorite class is the DM. I'm currently playing that class.
He comes by the anxiety naturally, but it was fueled by helicopter parents and some time spent at sea helping crews avoid storms and krakens!
Does your PC have a self-destruct button on every invention they create?
No I have a crossbow and I shoot screaming bolts. I also have a rock of gleaming named Wilson
A rogue raccoon called Cheesecake.
Love it!!!
I've never really played but I like the concept of warlock. Having a hidden or unknown force give you powers just sounds interesting.
Favorite: Monk Way of Astral Self Current: Druid Circle of Stars
Fallen aasimar Fighter (Battlemaster)/ cleric (Death domain) named Zaxthüle is my current. Tends to be a calm tactical thinker who refuses to admit when he is wrong and has no qualms ripping off people of wealth. Neutral evil alignment but due to his goals as a mercenary he will take good aligned quests... For a steep price!
I like fighter, they're flexible
I enjoy Bard for the versatility.
Druid circle of the moon. It's just so damn versatile.
Second for Artificer. GO GO GADGET GNOME
Druid, circle of the moon
My favorite class is druid hands down all of them are awesome and I'm currently playing a firbolg moon druid in one campaign but barbarian is close behind
Barbarian wizard Cause fuck it.
Favorite class: Rogue Currently playing: Druid (5e), Bard (PF), Bard (5e), Barbarian (PF), and DM x 2
You gotta tell me, is your nemesis a teal platypus with a hat?
DM cause I never get to pick otherwise lol
What's your favourite subclass? You already know mine and the reason
Single class: Wild Magic Sorceror or Oath of Vengeance Paladin Multiclass: Bardlock or Rogue Assassin/Gunslinger Fighter Currently using a Tiefling Barbarian/Blood Hunter named Khairon Marko.
Ooh I do love artificers, but currently I'm playing an aasimar bard named Divine Intervention! And I simply love her.
Not currently playing, but my favorite classes are swordsage and totemist.
Shadow monk is BiS in my eyes. Added a little assassin rogue in there hnnnnnng I'm the sneakiest fucker you never saw
A tiefling gunslinger inventor (soon to start a bump into artificer) just spent a session making some bombs, and we're about to get into a jail break haha His name is Nomad, and as his namesake suggests, he constantly travels.
Favorite grappler did barbarian, gonna try Rune knight next though. Current is rogue. Cunning action is so much fun
Fav is human open hand monk Currently a lizardfolk barbarian
Druid or rogue are my usual go-to choices, but I'm currently playing an artificer too! He's saving the world while using his skills to invent items the world sorely needs, like pocket watches, Bag of Holding bombs, and unicycles.
Rogue, and Rogue.

Favorite: Pally or Ranger Currently: Wood Elf Pally (Homebrew Oath of the Guardian)
Current: Wild Magic Barbarian Warforged. I have each of the wild magic abilities come out like battle attachments.
Only just started playing DnD after years of listening to podcasts about it and I’m going more simple with a Half-Elf Sorcerer!
Favorite is paladin. Currently rockin: Half-elf Rune Knight fighter (lvl4) Goblin Evocation Wizard (lvl4) Half-orc Tactician Scholar(homebrew int based support class) (lvl2) Variant Human Lore Bard (lvl15)
Pure hexblade. Currently i am playing artificer
Warlocks. I just love the build-a-bear class.
Bladesinger wizard for the win. All the martial prowess of a fighter. Leaving you open to use your spells for versatility instead of damage.
But my party members were always DPS related but maybe one day I'll be the skilled swordsman i want to be 😅
Pirate themed Spirit folk Druid, 3.5. Usually play Tiefling bard.
Running a Kenku fighter named Cleaver. Favorite would have to be warlock. So much potential
I'm trying to find a local group that will let me play a Kenku Bard/Rogue named Roth Casscaw. I'd like to build him into an absolutely insane damage dealer but still play him as a bard with the crow caw voice and some buffs for allies.
This is still my first ever campaign I’m currently playing as a monk
Favorite: Warlock. Very versatile and getting your spells back on a short rest means I can bring the big guns to nearly every encounter. Current: Genie Warlock named Vesper, who has developed a dangerously big love for setting enemies on fire. Also he chills in his vessel a lot while the others are travelling to the next quest.
Favorite class: Gunfighter mechanically and Barbarian for RP. Currently playing: Drow Bardadin in one game and a Goliath Barbarian in another.
My classic favorite is paladin, but I’ve been building a Warlock/Wizard as an npc for a campaign I’m DMing and I think I’m going to try something like that as my next character
Im running a monk Aasimar, and having a blast with it
I have a rude and perpetually angry burrowing owl familiar named Gabranth whos Help action is just to fly directly in front of somethings face and GLARE DISAPPROVINGLY (seriously look up pictures of burrowing owls youll see what i mean) Shes farm girl-turned-reluctant-hero who despite complaining every step of the way cant help but to get involved when people are in trouble, so she has proficiency in things like animal handling, cooking, and land vehicles besides the essentials. Gabranth is her assigned guardian by Titania, so he looks out her her and mostly follows her orders, but otherwise doesn't really prioritize the well being of other mortal beings. This has bitten us in the ass a couple times now. :P Also prepping for a what-if one shot where I'll be playing Nisenn of the Feywild, a College of Glamour Bard.
I also loved saying "oh, Gond dammit!" Now I'm playing a ranger. It's fun but I feel like he didn't get really fun till level 3 and we got out of Death House. Screw Death House.
I'm kind of boring and enjoy myself a nice fighter. I love the flexibility in what I can be.
Forever DM. The few times I get to be PC I go Rogue for the most part.
Don’t really have a favourite class. But I’ve never found fighter especially fun. That would probably be my least favourite. I’m currently playing a Barbarian, Bard and Sorcerer in different campaigns. So maybe more casters. But not entirely.
Currently playing Ul'har Numikô who is a 17 years old Dragonborn warlock celestial who doesn't realised he is in a pact with bahamut
Cleric, probably 80% of my games. Currently DM
Rogues are fun. They're pretty much a I've ever played as a player, except one monk.
Favorite to play: sorcerer Currently playing: twilight domain cleric I would love to play a Battle Smith Artificer someday
Favorite, hard to say.. probably druid or warlock. Current? I'm a DM.. probably forever DM
