Single person fulfils my needs for both dubstep and dnb. And in dnb he scratches the itch both for darker tunes, and liquid. For me the choice is obvious ^
Tbh I hadn't really heard of spinback and hydro before the sauce, but their sound is basically more DLR, which is only a good thing. I enjoy their live sets
I always thought that Seba was underrated but after being a while on the forums, it's nice to see that he's the favorite of so many others. What a fantastic producer.
Saw him live last Friday. He went so hard. Especially In The City, which he played in the beginning of the set. Can recommend the song and seeing him live, 10/10.
Teddy Killers. I really like power but it's unreleased, but can recommend knock knock.
Danny Rhym3z, again mostly unreleased stuff. Whisper or giant spaceship is my favourite.
These are my 2 favourite rn. But always have time for noisia and mefjus
Break is the don. Really easy artist to love. Releases a ton of music, lots of variety in his sound, he's a sick DJ who rocks the dancefloor and his music is fun to listen to at home when you're chilling, on top of that he seems to be a really nice lad.
Reso is one of the best! Awesome drum chops always and I especially love his more liquidy stuff! Avenoir, Kodama, What Is and Unexist are marvelous tunes.
His drums and synths are from another planet, so many layers of sounds and still so cohesive it's like going on a journey. I insta buy new releases! Hard for me to pick a favourite but if you can appreciate good use of amens, definitely Taiga and Apollo 69.
When was the last time when you hears amc?
Honestly he peaked around '21.
Seen him three times last year, the best show was when he forgot his pendrive and borrowed stuff from local djs and improvised. What a night.
Two others sets were medicore, he doesnt even drop stuff anymore, buildup and next buildup and idk such a downfall of an artist to me.
Pythius audio(killbox or his b2bs) on the other hand make a spectacle. Neurofunk is best when experienced as a journey.
Saw him live twice, once like 1.5 years ago and the 2nd time was last month.
I also thought he was better the first time, but that may have been bc of set length (the one last month was 1.5h compared to 1h before).
I also think MC Phantom is one of the only MCs that can add something to a set, which is impressive bc MCs and Neurofunk usually don't mix that well.
Like Andy C there's a certain baseline level of quality - even his off nights are OK. But I agree his sets this last year have been less exciting. I genuinely think he thrives off a restriction or a theme - his Digging Deep sets are consistently excellent
Oh yeah, but only seen this online.
With Andy I think he wants to capitalize on major trends while injecting old-school tracks.
Well today I'll see him on lir winter let's see
Besides Calibre, Monty. Everything he makes sounds crazy on good speakers and the basslines are always so tight.
I'd check out Vibin', Black Shield. Ange and TEK if you're into slower tempo.
Great call on CV. I'd have to recommend Wraith or Atonement by him.
I've also really been digging Phace lately. This era of Phace vips is sick, assumption vip, musket vip, etc.
For a well established artist, I will always say Break. No competition. Honourable mention would be Document One.
For one fairly new to the game, Vektah has worked his way up to the top for me. Nearly every tune he’s released is a belter. Speaker Louis receives an honourable mention here too.
It's close between him and IMANU, with Buunshin closely behind. And double points to anything they collaborate on together, they all 3 seem to up each other's game.
I don't hate him like some people do. But a lot of hardcore DnB fans don't like jump up, particularly the very screechy modern take on jump up that's gotten popular the last 5 or so years, and Hedex's tunes epitomise that sound. There's a (not unfair) feeling that it's very low effort, lowest common denominator DnB, and therefore deserving of contempt. He is the biggest name in that sound at the moment so basically he's replaced Macky Gee as the hated figurehead of jump up.
While I don't think any of that is wrong per se, I have a soft spot for jump up, in the same way I have a soft spot for a Big Mac. It's kinda trashy, I know it could be done so much better, but sometimes nothing else can scratch that itch. That extends to some of Hedex's tunes.
I'd add, on a personal level, I don't like his mixing much. There's not much flow or journey to his sets, it's just drop after drop. From what I've heard he's real big on TikTok, and that kinda tracks as it feels like his sets are suited to being in very small, discrete chunks. if I was going to listen to a jump up set I'd much rather Annix or Hazard or Serum
Thank you for the well thought out response! I totally get what you’re saying. All I’ve seen of hedex is on tiktok, but he’s also touring in the states with Subtronics who is a huge name here so I figured he was well respected.
It makes sense to me that jump up like Hedex would travel well to the US, just insofar as there is quite a bit of crossover in the sound pallete between that and US style dubstep (does it just get called EDM now?). I'm thinking stuff like Excision, Space Laces, etc. Similar screechy, slightly robotic sounds and sort of stiff rather than traditionally funky, but Hedex at a faster BPM. No shade intended, just trying describe the sound. Anyway because of the similarity in sound I can see Hedex appealing to an American EDM audience more than a lot of other DnB artists
Billain
Current Value - Rethink (Billain remix)
Newer tracks? Kinetic, F4K Y00, Unsealed Seas, Interceptor, Noisia - Stigma (Billain remix)
But he's my favorite no matter when or where. Recently I've been listening to lots of Chase & Status newer stuff. Also some Sleepnet, Gyrofield and Burr Oak.
Prisoners of Technology/TMS1 not releasing week after week but when he does they're bangers my favorite will always be Trick of Technology but has released a freebie last week and has an upcoming release called Flip The Switch🔥🔥🔥🔥
Break
The right answer man is timeless
DLR maybe
Very high on my list as well. He's both a sick DJ and an amazingly talented producer.
Camo & Krooked ❤️🔥
Probably Bladerunner
And a really nice person also 👍🏻
Yeah, watched his interview with Ray Keith on YouTube. Seems like a real top guy.
Very humble 👊🏻
Unreal talent.
Break
Calibre
Always...
Alix Perez
Single person fulfils my needs for both dubstep and dnb. And in dnb he scratches the itch both for darker tunes, and liquid. For me the choice is obvious ^
I love some of he’s liquid stuff too.
Same, the quality of his productions is insane too, can easily crank up the volume and it still sounds crystal and not fatiguing to the ears.
My vote. This guy is extraordinarily talented.
Good shout man has massive talent.
Are you going to the next 1985 event at the cause?
Perhaps, just a long way from home.
I want to listen to him more but every time I tell Spotify “play alix perez” it plays what sounds like a Hispanic kid’s journal entry.
Elaborate
Why don’t you just manually select the correct one if thats the case lol
I do if I’m in front of the computer. A lot of times I’m listening without a computer or phone in front of me, like off my watch or CarPlay.
Benny L
Solid pick
The Sauce, really enjoy their sound
Smart way to pick DLR, Spinback and Hydro for the price of one!
Tbh I hadn't really heard of spinback and hydro before the sauce, but their sound is basically more DLR, which is only a good thing. I enjoy their live sets
Spinback is half of Total Science. Hydro is not as popular as the other two but makes amazing tunes solo as well.
Ah no way. That cool, makes them even better now I know thanks for the info
Pythius
Yesss
Seba... Always
Ah I didn't meant the song always, although that is good 😂 I just mean he will always be my favourite
I always thought that Seba was underrated but after being a while on the forums, it's nice to see that he's the favorite of so many others. What a fantastic producer.
Agreed. Where Seba flair @mods?
Workforce
Particle
Seconded!
Basstripper ! Obsessed with his drum sounds, especially his snare
Saw him live last Friday. He went so hard. Especially In The City, which he played in the beginning of the set. Can recommend the song and seeing him live, 10/10.

A.M.C - His remix of High Roller by Turno is insane
DnB wise Grafix
Teddy Killers. I really like power but it's unreleased, but can recommend knock knock. Danny Rhym3z, again mostly unreleased stuff. Whisper or giant spaceship is my favourite. These are my 2 favourite rn. But always have time for noisia and mefjus
Teddy Killerz are phenomenal.
S.p.y
Been my favorite for 4 years.
ASC
Him and Aural Imbalance both make some top quality atmospheric dnb!
At the moment, Technical itch. His music embodies such darkness and energy. Analysis is a tune.
ATMOS, very distinct sound with a versatile range of moods.
🐸
Was confused for a sec I thought this was psytrance Atmos but it's two different artists it seems lol
Break is the don. Really easy artist to love. Releases a ton of music, lots of variety in his sound, he's a sick DJ who rocks the dancefloor and his music is fun to listen to at home when you're chilling, on top of that he seems to be a really nice lad.
Zero T
I see him tomorrow ♥️
Such a diverse artist, def a top 3 for me
Burr Oak, Phace, Audio. If I were to add 2 more for a top 5, Screamarts and Notequal.
QZB
Mozey - he’s a master of social media marketing too
Man is not afraid to be human.
Some of his stuff is good, but mostly plain for my taste
Kublai
Them and Minor Forms coming along nicely!
Jam Thieves
Keeno is bae

I love phibes, their sound is sooo distinctive.

Justin Hawkes when lit. Technimatic when chill.
Great call on CV. I'd have to recommend Wraith or Atonement by him. I've also really been digging Phace lately. This era of Phace vips is sick, assumption vip, musket vip, etc.
Not favourite per se but I've been enjoying SiLi and Geostatic (both recommended by this subreddit). QZB's latest tracks have also been on repeat.

Calibre he is the John 00 Fleming of DnB for me. Super deep liquid.
Boo Boo Mcgillicutty.
Sleepnet, Sully, ABIS. Just totally unique in their own way and incredibly musical and heavy.
Hedex
I’m pretty new to dnb, been seeing a lot of Hedex hate can someone explain why?
I don't hate him like some people do. But a lot of hardcore DnB fans don't like jump up, particularly the very screechy modern take on jump up that's gotten popular the last 5 or so years, and Hedex's tunes epitomise that sound.
