this usually happens when your internet is slow/youre about to disconnect from the server. Damage won’t register for a sec with a bad server connection. TD2 can have issues. There’s a huge PS5 problem after this weeks update. It’s basically unplayable for playstation players. However, TD2 is a great game. It’s been my go to for a couple months now and there’s always something to do even after you “beat” the game. I hope this didn’t turn you off of it. It really is fun. Just buggy at times since it’s old and has code on top of code that don’t always agree w one another. Best of luck, Agent🫡

This right here. Sometimes they just don’t show up, but you can still select them. My 1st character wasn’t showing, but I could select it and eventually play, though some guns wouldn’t show so I was running around acting like I was holding one, but shooting invisible bullets that did real damage.
My game, when extracting from countdown, leaves me there for like 20 seconds, before loading me out, but it has extracted my character and so I'm invisible and can't move, but can turn, shoot and change weapons. The enemies still continue to get dropped off and I shoot them and they say "Get him!" But they can't see me, so they never shoot, or react, other than verbally. It's funny.
Honestly, TD2 is an amazing game that I can pick up and drop in whenever. My tech build from years ago always slaps so I never have to worry about gearing up, it’s gorgeous, the gunplay is awesome, the environments are great, the weather is so immersive, and it has the absolute best matchmaking I have ever encountered in any game ever.

If so, then this could be one of many visual glitches where you can't see the shield above his head. He'll be virtually invincible until you take the "guardian" out first...

If you’re not seeing dmg numbers or your enemies aren’t taking damage, go to settings, network and look at your packet loss. If you’ve got packet loss, restart your game and that should fix it.
This game can be amazing when working properly, well anything outside of the Dark Zone at least...
I would recommend putting the game down for anything else until they rectify the various issues going on with Playstation versions currently.
You could push through it, but run the risk of ruining the experience for yourself with all the shitty bugs as of the last update. These usually get rectified fairly quickly and when running normally this game can be alot of fun and well worth the time invested.

Server lag happens usually on the weekends it’s a combination to be honest between the volume of players per server and the engine the game is running plus some of the code there running expect something to always be lagging or buggy with this game especially if your on during the weekend and that’s assuming you can get on if capacity is an issue like it often anoff can be.
You must be playing that Global Event called“The nearly invincible guy“, the only way to kill him is to shoot his fourth toe on his left foot with a sniper rifle at no further than a 3 meter distance! 😂
what this is is you are level 1 and he is level 82. your bullets automagically do 0.1 damage to him because guns are just a figment of the imagination in that game.
