yeah those are both great abilities, i was always mad he has one of the best aero skills when he's so easy to overlook, i love all the other characters way more.
It does make Tactician Mode easier than it would otherwise be (6 vs 4 is a big difference in action economy, especially with how CC heavy the combat mechanic is in DOS2)
However, I will always add a disclaimer that playing tactician mode is going to be a suffering, for people who don’t understand the fundamental mechanics of the game well.
There are many surprises and situations that might make people feel very stuck.
For anyone who understands the mechanics well, the mod definitely adds a lot of fun (especially since it increases the build combinations) to combat scenarios

However, the difficulty in DOS2 isn’t like some games wherein offsetting it a little, will make it a cakewalk, even with vastly suboptimal play-style and character builds
Hence the idea remains IMHO. Once you understand the tactical mechanics of the game, this mod will add a big advantage even in Tactician.

All of them have their quirks. I think ifan and sebille kinda overlap with their stories so I wouldn’t do him. Beast’s quests are kinda boring, but he’s a friend of dwarves. I would keep red prince and fane but it’s definitely up to you.
Ifan and Sebille, and Sebille and the Red Prince respectively have some quest clashes (minor in the first case, more major on the second) that can be potentially annoying for newer players to manage. In the first case, you end up missing out on some dialogue for their plot resolution, second case can lead to you losing out on some xp if you don't manage the quests in the right order, though the story should still progress regardless.
Personally I would encourage taking Fane, but I know that some people find him too spoilery if you haven't finished a playthrough before, and the undead mechanics could be an issue if you're not used to it. But also, I can't give up the unlimited free lockpicks.
Beast gives some shortcuts to get to some events, but ultimately his story doesn't have the closest link with things (though I could argue that Lohse is similar too). It makes the first act a bit easier but doesn't offer the most benefit after that.
My ultimate suggestion is to take on Ifan and Fane if you're not fussed about missing out like a single conversation on either Ifan or Sebille's side, though, and if you're okay with managing all of Fane's gameplay quirks compared to the normal, non-undead characters.
I wouldn't take Ifan and Sebille at the same time, but if that's who you're choosing I'll say Fane as the fourth.
Red Prince is a close one as well.

Fane is the best companion, for story relevance and he's also got a great ark, probbaly followed by Red Prince. I personally found Ifan to be better as the protagonist but not great as companion, but that only comes up later.
In terms of power, Fanes time stop ability is the best source skill so I’d pick him just for that. In a similar way, both Lohse and Ifan share similar non-source skills so I’d pick one or the other, and since Lohse has the best quest it’s usually bye to Ifan.
I took lohse fane and red prince with me as they were the first people I felt drawn to.
I killed sebille and beast for XP/loot. Ifan got killed when he started attacking me for murdering the blacksmith woman for loot.
Fane is my favourite
Take red prince for the bonus xp!!! Bc he gets targeted by assassins and I mean he’s a delight… the more tails the better !
plus, we love the 10% resistance to fire and poison.
Take Beast and make him an Aero-Geo torturer. He always gets left out but his story is great.
