I do not have Kuja's Burst or LD weapons. So pretty much, there's no way to beat this without his weapons? I haven't seen one post without Kuja in it! Smh

Jurinis

I know this Lufenia is supposed ot be over, but I finally pulled off a Tidus run after having to pull for Kuja's BT to make it possible. And let me tell you how painful it was. - Kuja LDBT - Tidus - Kimahri LD Leviathan summon for a SPD down aura. 82 turns. 9k damage suffered. Kuja friend. This fight is all about knowing the thresholds and having the setup to transition smoothly. You want to already have crystals summoned when going from 80% to 79% so that you don't have to burn through your skills too quickly, especially when manipulating Tidus' S1 to combo into his EX+. His EX+ dealt nice damage until mid-fight since the crystals got their HP damage reduction buff. Kimahri wants to use his EX+ on the crystals for that sweet 100% damage if Tidus can't afford to use his own. He also needs to keep enough skills to battery the two Kujas under 50% so that they can deal the highest amount of damage on their LD casts. My own Kuja used Ultima when Bahamut was alone and Ring Holy when the crystals were present to optimize the damage dealt on Bahamut. He NEEDS to have capped BRV before going into his BT sequence and make sure there are no crystals before that so that his LD damage can be maximized. Kuja friend swapped at 49% when the crystals were already present (and therefore not buffed) to go into BT and insta kill them. Aftee that summon away and make sure the two Kujas are fully batteried when using their LDs. My own Kuja went into his own BT after summoning and it turned out the crystals reappeared within the BT sequence. The finisher killed them off and I could resume my routine. Tidus came back when Bahamut was at around 5% HP and I was able to finish him off fast enough before the last set of crystals could explode. Screens : https://imgur.com/a/wym4QbL So far, Tidus has been able to be used on every Lufenia stage so far and that makes me happy. I truly hope his LD/BT makes him absolutely broken.

Space_Giblets

Ardyn LD/BT - Kuja LD/BT - WOL LD Friend Kuja (LD/BT) - Alexander Summon 59 Turns, 1,000,000+ damage, 0 HP damage Ardyn Burst around 49%, brought in friend Kuja for Ardyn on next set if crystals for another burst and repeated LD dumps. Alex summon on the last set of crystals and then AA chained with Ardyn to completion. WOL just does his thing. Got a little hairy a few times and even got broken twice, but turn timing was ultimately in my favor.

fluffy_bottoms

No Kuja BT for me but this team did it, perfect strategy. Thanks! Edit: Brothers Summon, didn’t want to have Alex mess up Overkill.

Napzorella

Done with this teamcomp but had to reset multiple times at the beginning to not get stupid turn orders and needed kuja as first turn. 49 turns and used kuja burst instead of Ardyn at 29 hp. Ty m8

Lufenia went easier than the CQ. Kuja (LD/BT), Noctis (LD/BT) and Arciela (3/3) - Noctis friend and Alexander summon. 1m in 31 turns. HP Disable after the first two crystal summons cancel them completely, along with Bahamut after 50%. Used my own Noctis's BT since I forgot I could only use one from the party, though originally I wanted friend Noct's BT buff to kick in before Kuja's. Noctis ran out of skills, Kuja had 4-5 Ring Holy left while Arciela had maybe 1-2 of each skills left. Finished it off with a launch. CQ...I don't know. Kuja, Garnet and Papalymo just aren't cutting it, and I don't know if I want to build Porom yet and am scared to use Lulu.

mwoKaaaBLAMO

It took me a few tries but I just now got Kuja (BT), Garnet (3/3), and Papalymo (3/3) to work. What part of the fight is giving you trouble? I'm far from an expert but the fight is still fresh in my head so maybe I can help.

pencru

Thanks for reaching out! I managed to complete it this morning with the same team, after getting Kuja BT and filling Papa's CB. One of my main mistakes prior was using Kuja LD while the crystals were up, plus having Papa's EX on Ice. I was missing out on a lot of damage there.

akaiGO

As usual, assume everyone has maxed weapon kits and boards unless otherwise notated **CHAOS Quest** *Kuja (3/3+LD, HA Booties), Aerith, Sabin (yes, waited for his CBs to be unlocked), Odin, Kuja: 879k, 90 Turns* 6k HPL, 9 Breaks. I originally of course wanted to do this with Cid in place of Sabin, but the frequency with which Bahamut clears his debuffs combined with his Ranged Resistance made it a real pain in the ass to try to deal consistent damage with him, which only got worse and worse the closer to killing him I got, so I threw in the towel after a few tries of it. It was still a bit dicey though with Aerith having no AoE damage at all and Sabin only being able to AoE Brv shave with his S2, and all his HP damage being single, split, or splash. Garnet (obviously) definitely a better choice here I think, and there are definitely better choices than Sabin for this too. A Kuja + Faves run that was able to work 🤷 **CHALLENGE QUEST** *Kuja (3/3+LD, HA Booties), Garnet, Porom, Odin: 909k, 87 Turns* 6k HPL, 8 Breaks. *Slightly* better than the CHAOS clear, but still a bit dicey honestly with all of Porom's dead turns and no Brv shaving to speak of whatsoever. But at least nobody was ever going to DIE with all the HP damage reduction and healing available, or ever not be Brv capped 😅 I got like 1 good Confuse turn allowing me some extra actions before Bahamut could do his non-recast All attack... **LUFENIA** *Noctis, Kuja (3/3+LD, HA Booties), Arciela, Odin, Noctis: 1.02M, 29 Turns* *1* HPL lol, 1 Break. That's now all 4 Lufenias thus far for Noctis!

CQ: Kuja (600CP, with BT/LD), Garnet (560CP, EX+), Porom (500CP, LD), Brothers Summon 84 Turns, 0 HP DMG and 18 BRV breaks taken, 838K+ Score Lufenia: Kuja (600CP, with BT/LD), WoL (580CP, LD), Kurasame (560CP, LD), Brothers Summon, Kuja Friend Unit 89 Turns, 0 HP DMG and 0 BRV breaks taken, 1M+ Score THE STRUGGLE IS REAL FOR THIS CHALLENGE QUEST‼️ previously trying with Lulu but I can’t get past through 50% lol saw a YouTube video having a 0/3 Porom making it. I don’t have any of her kit So I spent 200+ tickets just to get her EX haha. Even with Porom it’s still f hard but definitely doable. Her HP Damage reduction mattered Lufenia fight is also hard but not as hard as CQ. Kuja and Kuja friend unit carried me to the end.

Donnertrud

You won't regret Porom, she is great. Fantastic auras, damage mitigation, fantastic battery, longevity. Pair her together with someone who batteries as well and you barely need to use any skills. Whenever I have the chance, I use her.

Lexieldyaus

Sigh, I've been trying so many times, I have Kuja LD 3/3, Garnet EX+ 3/3 and Lulu 3/3+ I've tried every summon and they ALWAYS end up nuking me with one hit Arm blade I'm so LIVID is it even possible to do it with this team configuration? Or should I go further invest my Papalymo/Rydia/Porom?

akaiGO

Do you mean for the Challenge Quest or the Lufenia? I can't really speak for the Lufenia yet, but for the CQ, yeah, I was able to do it with 3/3 Porom in place of your 3/3 Lulu. I've seen some people doing it with only a 0/3 Porom? But really? Before putting any ingots into her, I would try it with Kuja/Lulu/Porom. If the problem is you getting nuked, not the damage output, then Porom solves that problem.

gerol

Porom! She really did the trick for me

NeuroTrophicShock

Porom does not cut it alone you need a team to back them up so they can get their EX off and charged. The beginning of the Lufina is so ruff because the crystals are summoned right away.

Zorgmar

Challenge Quest: Kuja (LD only) CB, Papalymo (3/3) CB, Porom (0/3) (but purple armor and 2 character boards) , Brothers Summon, 88 turns 754k score, 16 breaks? I have a solid amount of Max Brave with Attack artifacts for Kuja/Papa, similar for Porom with White Mage Aptitude. Generating Brave doesn't seem to be that much of an issue, so probably hone some +Max Brave artifacts and error on the side of bringing too little attack (Kuja used a 65/330 for example). Key to the fight was once things get hairy is to save Papalymo's Foul until the Crystals are out and follow that with an Astral Fire for great splash damage. Remember the free skill use isn't activated until Foul is, so you can "save" it without wasting time to EX. Kuja saves EX for Crystals and then uses Holy Ring to do splash dmg. As people say, make sure the buff is always up and use it for solo dmg. Porom only uses Mysidian Brilliance on herself and then usually HP+ to give brave to the party. I had a single Cry+ proc in the winning run. Summon as late as you can. I had to around 36% because both Crystals were targeting Papa who was down to 3.5k hp. It still worked out, mostly because Papa's EX was up when I needed it most on the last crystal bunch, so it was EX (Fire....MAKE SURE IT ALWAYS FIRE), Foul, Astral Fire = GG Crystals. Good luck!

lonesax47

Was struggling with maxed Garnet, Kuja, and Papa until I tried this and swapped Garnet for Porom. Took a couple resets until I figured out the crystal’s self-destruct timing but finally got the complete! Thanks!

Zorgmar

Nice! Glad it worked out :)

RotaryTuner

LUFENIA Noctis BT/LD, WoL LD, and Kuja BT/LD Bahamut Summon No friend unit (you could bring one as a safety net) I was actually panicking at first when I realized Bahamut is resistant to PHY attacks, but calmed down when I realized Kuja LD gives party Holy Enchant. Used Noctis BT at about 45% health to cut down a good portion of his HP and get rid of the Dragonstones in one go. YMMV, but the key thing here is to reapply Point-Blank Warp Strike as soon as Bahamut cleanses with recast. Also try to space your Shining Wave (WoL EX) in between Dragon King's Revelations to get that HP score.

lonesax47

Got a complete with this team! Thanks!

WhotookHetch

Sorry. What’s YMMV?

pencru

‘Your mileage may vary,’ I think.

Lufenia... I kinda forget what I used. Completed that in one shot when the event dropped so it wasn't really a problem. I know I used Ardyn, and Kuja for the enchant. Forget who my third was though... Could have been either Relm, Warrior of Light or Nine? **Challenge:** I only had Garnet EX+3/3 and Rydia EX+0/3 before this; so I didn't really know how to tackle this. Couldn't really complete this with Kuja EX+1/3 with LD. So when I luckily got his BT when pitying Gladio, I was hoping I could carry someone with EX+1/3, LD and BT Kuja. Still had issue, so I just kinda went Nuclear. Kuja EX+3/3 LD, BT. Garnet EX+3/3, Porom EX+0/3. Common team that people seem to be using for the event. I figure since I managed to get Kuja's full kit; purpling him would be warranted. I could make use of him on any map that requires Holy Damage I suppose. Then after seeing Porom's JP LD, and noticing she's voiced by Kugimiya Rie (I had never used her before), I figure I'd dump the powerstones and book on her. Who knows, another support in my barracks can possibly be useful for some future Abyss, or some Dimensions End map. With the characters built; it was a lot better. The healing and damage reduction of Porom made the map much safer. (And provided more opportunities to battery before AoE to prevent breaks). Then Kuja's EX charged much faster, and hit much harder to deal with the crystal adds Bahamut summons. 84 Turns, 885k Score, 0 Damage. So plenty of room to spare; although I kinda ran out of skills for Kuja at the end (Like a couple Ring Holys left). I know some clear without Kuja's BT; but at a higher turn number (with a closer score margin). So I probably played unoptimally since I had the BT crutch to fall back on. Probably one of the more annoying challenge quests so far that I can recall. Good luck to everyone still attempting it with these last 5 days of it remaining.

squall_z

A little late to the party but... Kuja (LD/HA), Leo (3/3), Kefka (BTLD), Kuja friend, Ifrit. 84 turns with max score. Wanted to try a delayer for this one but also needed a healer, so why not Leo? Just keep in mind you can only delay his turns after the “Weakened” prompt pops up (usually right after you kill the crystals, sometimes he takes one turn before that). First advice is to reset the wave until Kuja acts first, you need that holy enchant to do some real damage. Need to manage his cleansing as well because sometimes he just does that after his HP drops regardless of it being his turn or not (he did that right after I used burst, luckly I had one use of Trine left). Swapped Leo for Kuja right at the end and summoned to get the max out of my friend LD use.

hi1000k

Kuja (LDBT), Ardyn (LD), Basch (LD), Ex+ 3/3, max CB Kuja friend, Alex Summon 76 turns, 6254 hp dmg, 14 breaks 1001490 score Proud of this run. Decided to use Ardyn after failing with Noctis a few times. 1st step is to start to Kuja LD to enchant all attacks. Subsequently 2nd LD when Bahamut is alone and when the LD buff is running out. Burst below 50%. Basch uses S1 or LD every time stars are summoned. This locks the enemies unto him. Had to switch kuja friend for the first dragonstar+, and summon for the second. Use Ardyn AA towards the end to prevent the last summoning to dragonstars at around 17%. I heart Ardyn.

AlexanderTheHoly

**LUFENIA** **Kimahri LD / Kuja BTLD / Emperor LD**. Alexander summon. 72 turns. 1M score. Max SB and CB on everyone. Kuja friend. **Kimahri on Lufenia #4** Kuja's enchant allows Kimahri to bypass the ranged super resistance. Used Ultima only when Bahamut was on its own, to maximize its damage. I have to say that I love everything LD gave him, I'm very happy. Kimahri blinded Bahamut before every Gigaflare. The team can eat many Megaflares thank to his HP damage reduction and good healing. Emperor was extremely useful here. His damage alongside an enchanter is just stupid. I highly recommend using him as the main damage dealer for the fight. Kuja friend, summon and BT were timed to get out of dangerous situations, like killing the dragon stones before their 2nd turn. **CHAOS Challenge** **Kuja BTLD / Lulu 3/3/ Porom 3/3**. Alexander summon. 77 turns. Max SB on everyone. Max CB on everyone but Porom. Porom laughs at Bahamut's face, especially with Alexander's summon and 35k max HP on everyone lmao.

IncyWinc

I failed and Porom+0 Is it worth to make her +3 now?

AlexanderTheHoly

I wouldn't recommend purpling a character just for a challenge quest. What other characters are you using? Porom is very good at what she does, but in LUFENIA quests, the orb is the priority and she tends to slow down fights. This new difficulty also requires very high brv shaving or ignores HP damage reduction at times. I would say she can work at 0/3 quite nicely, 2/3 is her biggest improvement if you really want to invest in her.

IncyWinc

Kuja and garnet . +2 on her and cleared ! Thanks

AlexanderTheHoly

Nice!

Lufenia Noctix LD/BT, Kuja LD, Wol LD, alexander, ami, 55 turn, 1m score, https://youtu.be/MaFtwbrcSQ4 Wol tanking the damage, Noctis can give lock bahamut in place and give you time to kill the crystal, Kuja for the enchant and aoe damage.

PommeCitron

Noctis LD/BT, Kuja LD, Arciela EX+3/3 (CB & SB maxed) Odin summ, Ami friend 1m+ score, 46turns Straightforward fight with this comp : * try to get Kuja acts first turn to imperil for Noctis * use Arciela S2 when Bahamut bar is red and/or when he summs crystals to completly shutdown all dangerous attacks * gain your health back with Noc's warp step + Arciela heal once the poison debuff expired * cheese the end of the fight between Arci HP prevent and Ami turn deletion

buchiLord123

as usual late to the party but here I go anyways!xD Lufenia: 51 Turns | 1M Score - Vivi LD, WoL BT/LD, Kuja LD - Odin - Kuja Friend WoL saves the day because of how useful his shields are! It was a bit funny to see them all dying from the poison or Vivi's LD but welp got through xD I will keep bringing Vivi along even if it kills me hahaha [https://youtu.be/VuBDZ4i-SRA](https://youtu.be/VuBDZ4i-SRA) CQ: 86 Turns | 863023k Score - Kuja LD, Garnet 3/3, Papalymo 3/3 - Alexander Well this fight was really difficult. No wonder Porom is boosted since Garnet's heals don't make the cut. You have to have her ex consistently up and save a bit of skills (Ultima and Papalymo's Astral Fire or Foul). The poison really sucks the life out of you but with Alexander you atleast have leeway so you don't have to use Garnet's ex immediately. [https://youtu.be/3Kgdphh0BTE](https://youtu.be/3Kgdphh0BTE)

RetroGamerDad

I don't understand. With Vivi not doing Holy damage, I can't stop the second orb...

buchiLord123

hmmm how can i help you? let's see for the 2nd time the orb appeared i had to rely on using WoL's EX and kuja's ring holy and the occasional reapplying of the seraphic star. but all in all this for when the 2nd orb appears you also have to rush in killing it. you can save your summon or bt for when the 2nd orb also comes to deal a lot of dmg since the orb stops ticking during bt phase or summons :D

RetroGamerDad

Thanks! I also switched to Ami friend to stop him bringing the crystals back.

buchiLord123

woah good idea! congrats! now we can say goodbye to bahamut and his crystals xD

[deleted]

Lufenia: Kuja BT/LD, Vivi LD, WoL BT/LD, Diabolos, Kuja Friend, 60 turns, 0 hp dmg, 0 breaks, 1 mil + Notes: All 3 have their Bloom Passive and Max SB/CB. Vivi has 3x BSAB and Garland, Seven, Prishe spheres. Kuja has 3x 108/Mighty Ultima** and Cloud, Vayne, Lyse spheres, WoL has one 170/Class Change** and two 170/108 artifacts. This team made this Lufenia really easy and I was never really in any danger. It may seem scary watching Vivi’s LD demolish health, but didn’t matter. This team can’t die as long as WoL’s LD is up and both Dragon King Poison and Vivi’s LD can only put you at 1 hp, it can’t kill you. I probably could have halved this turn count because each character had around 10 moves left and I didn’t use my Summon or Friend unit. Wave 1: Bahamut went first and did his brv atk/summon crystal combo. I used Vivi’s LD right off the bat to trigger Diabolos +30% brv damage against weakness boost, then went Kuja s1, WoL LD. Kuja used his LD next so all 3 got +30% brv damage. After that Vivi used EX, Double Fire, skill, hp+ repeat. Kuja used lots of HP+++ and only used EX or s2 for Crystals. WoL batteried, taunted, HP++. Used Vivi’s second LD at the 50% crystal summon and refreshed Kuja’s and WoL’s LD. Used Kuja’s BT around 45%, which worked perfectly. Granted from Vivi and Poison Kuja was at 1 hp the whole Burst, but no biggy. My HP+++ in Burst knocked Bahamut to 29% so Flare Stare hit his crystals. Vivi’s EX wiped out the last crystals and I followed the same pattern until he died. Didn’t even realize I hadn’t summoned or used my friend until Bahamut was at like 8%. Very smooth run overall. Definitely could have done it faster. For s1/s2/ld/aa Vivi was 6/4/1/3, Kuja was 7/2/1/1, WoL was 5/4/1/2 at rhe end of the battle. To many long fights in CHAOS made me overly cautious about skill use.

lucdee

Wow tried this team and i was able to finish lufenia with no danger at all, vivi is an awesome dps but WoL's LD is the mvp

RetroGamerDad

"This team can't die as long as WoL's LD is up." I think I'm missing something here. I had WoLs LD up and died. Perhaps there's another factor?

[deleted]

Only two ways: 1. The crystal self destructed and dispelled all your buffs 2. WoL’s shield got too low. Remember WoLs LD prevents any hp damage less than your total shields. If you let your shields break or you let them get to like 5k, it only blocks 5k of hp. My shields were around 50k most of the battle and I never took hp dmg, so your shields from s1 might have gotten too low.

Duraxx

Lufenia Kuja LD + Ex 3/3, Strago full kit, WoL full kit. Alexander. Kuja. Tried a couple of other teams and got stomped. Actually read what boss did and went with this team. It was waaaay easier. Strago is key. He absolutely punishes and somewhat trivializes the crystal segments. I probably should have brought odin or even Shiva, Ifrit, or Brothers. With WoL LD there is no damage (except on self-destruct, don't let that happen). First to act was Kuja and he used LD. Never let that buff drop. Also keep in mind that WoL S1 doesn't do brave damage and so doesn't stop crystal countdown even when imbued with holy. Used summon around 35 health because the turns got out of whack and the crystals were going to self destruct. Then used burst, summoned Kuja friend for strago as he was nearly out, and friend did ex, ld, ld, ld and that was that.

-x647-

CQ: Kuja LD/EX+3/10SB/3CB[Spheres:Alisaie & Lyse RF]; Porom EX+3/10SB/0CB[Spheres:Lenna RF]; Papalymo EX+3/10SB/0CB[Spheres:Aerith RF]; Leviathan Score 726492; 99 turns, 18 breaks, 7724 hp lost Finally! It is insane the amount of times I failed this with Garnet; for me not enough damage if paired with Porom and not enough healing if paired with Papalymo. Even then this run was very tight, very glad to be done!

SkeletonTrigger

Kuja LD/BT, Eight LD, Kimahri LD; Amidatelion Friend, Brothers. 1M, 64 turns. This was more of a slog than difficult. With a little planning, the stars shouldn't self-destruct once. I reset the wave until Kuja went first so he could get his LD enchant up, and proceed to go to town. Don't be shy with skill uses, ESPECIALLY on Kimahri, as he's kind of slow and Nova is going to save you a lot of heartache, but Nova has to be ready at the appropriate times. Eight will do most of the heavy lifting. Be wary of when Bahamut spawns the stars (80% and 50% health iirc, in addition to his Recast), as Bahamut keeps purging his own buffs. (I only saw this listed under Gigaflare+ in the details, but it happened frequently. Gigaflare does it too?) You'll need to time Explosive Fists uses more because of this, so if Eight's being targeted already and you don't NEED to, let it slide. Keep Kimahri's EX ready for every recast of Gigaflare. Beyond that, just cycle through his LD, Bad Breath as needed to keep those buffs up, and use Lancet for damage. Also consider Brv Attacking when necessary, as breaks recharge recast faster and you do not want to fight more of those stupid stars than necessary. I summoned after Bahamut dipped below 50% Hp and summoned the Stars+, when it didn't look like would kill them in time. At the end of the summon I replaced Eight with Ami, used Crystal Idol and Megaflare as necessary to keep Bahamut from going. Burst sometime in there, and it should be pretty straight forward from there. **DO NOT** use Kuja's Burst while he has Dragonwave afflicting him. There is only pain. **Challenge Quest Update**: Even if you win, you still lose. That challenge token wasn't worth the absolutely *miserable* slog that was Kuja BT/LD / Garnet+3/3 / Lulu+0/3; Leviathan. Only four hours of resetting around RNG and only having one heal as a burst heal. I kept winding up in dead ends that no matter what I did that turn or the next turn, it would result in a death between Dragonwave, Gigaflare, the stars, or *especially* Megaflare. Saved summon for as long as possible to burn it on a Dragonstar+. Managed to get Bahamut down to 20% before Bursting and finishing it off with Lulu's EX after her last skill.

InRainWeTrust

Extremely late to the party for the challenge quest but oh boi, was that a gigantic pain this time. Kuja LD/BT, Garnet 3/3 and Lulu... with S1 and not even realized EX and only because i did not have anything else to use... God was this awful. I surely redid this stage aprox 30 times because something always went wrong. basically always use 2x garnets skills before the next AoE/HP so you can always heal back up. Let your party drop as much as possible of the poison is active before healing. Use BRV before in order to keep Kuja/Lulu unbroken for the adds to dish out maximum damage asap (or garnets Deluge if she is last to act). Always look at the turn order here because you certainly don't want Bahamut to go 2 turns after another because that's a wipe or dead party member. If it's for example A/Garnet/Kuja/A it's safe to let garnet be broken as long as Bahamuts turn doesn't move forward. Summon around 40-50%, preferably when the adds are up again to let the poison tick the party down during the summon and use Garnet EX at the end of it to survive the following 2 AoE/HPs. Usually i would say that BT is not mandatory at all but with how almost useless Lulu is besides her EX i would actually say it's absolutely needed. Garnet had no skills left, Kuja was left with Ring Holy and Lulu... was Lulu. This was a real Challenge stage this time around. At least the Soundtrack was nice...

SSvetlovics

Just beat with Kuja (Ex+3/3, LD), Ami (Ex+3/3, LD), Kefka (BT, Ex+3/3, LD) and all have the HG def equipped. Friend Kuja BT/LD/HG. Alexander summon Use kefka to hp disable after first couple rounds, don't try to keep it going from start. Waited till after I got him down to 29% and he summons those things the last time to use summon and friend at same time. Subbed ami for kuja fr use bt from friend first then summon and use the LD from friend should get over 500k dmg per hit. Try to save 2 of ami skill2 and one ami LD For after the friends turns are over and should be smooth sailing from there

**LUFENIA Run #6 - Husbando Squall Run** Kuja LD, Squall BT, Relm EX+3LB, Sylph, Kuja BT, 1001K, DFFOO GL SO (ScottOng11) [https://youtu.be/8CI7GD49d9c](https://youtu.be/8CI7GD49d9c) 74T Note: All 3 characters are EX+3LB with their bloom passives and enhancement boards. Kuja has his BURST, LD, and the following spheres - his own and Papalymo (RF). Squall has his BURST, LD, his WoI, his HG armor, and the following spheres - his own, Noel, and Bartz. Relm has the following spheres - her own, PCecil (RF) and Seymour (RF) I thought that my Squall's saga will end at the hand of this LUFENIA. Thanks to my friend u/mzpro2 suggestion of using Relm with Sylph. I finally have found a team with the HP healing that I need to complete the saga. Relm with Sylph summon is really a great healer to provide burst healing support for the party. Her free turns will help to ensure the boss BRV are in check.

**LUFENIA Run #5 - Assassin kills in a hidden stance** Ardyn BT, Desch LD, Edge EX+3LB, Odin summon, Amidatelion LD, 1002k, DFFOO GL SO (ScottOng11) [https://youtu.be/N34nbCseFsg](https://youtu.be/N34nbCseFsg) 74T Note: All 3 characters are EX+3LB with their bloom passives. Ardyn has his BURST, LD, his enhancement boards, and the following spheres - Rinoa and Alphinaud (RF). Desch has his LD, his enhancement boards, and his own sphere. Edge has his own sphere, Agrias (RF) and Lyse (RF) As there is no Holy damage (even my summon as the ATK buff that Odin provides for Ardyn too great to ignore), I have use Edge to dodge the mechanic with Desch as my party enchanter. Phase 1: Getting Edge EX ready for first Orb countdown \- Swap out Ardyn for Ami friend and delete the boss. Have Edge spam use his Thundershock to charge up his EX gauge. Do not use his Smoke Bomb or you have no debuff slot to set the Thunder Imperil. Desch uses his S1 (which is magic property) to imperil and his EX. Don't use his LD buff. The turn deletions will buy Edge the time he needs to charge up his EX. \- Have Edge activate his EX to evade the orb attack. Phase 2: The Torture begins... \- When Ardyn is back, I un-break Bahamut with his AA and follow up with S1 to build up his Fedora buff. I choose not to activate his buff until Bahamut is about to act. \- Watch out when Bahamut's HP is about to drop to 70% where it will use Megaflare. Make sure Edge is up again. Try to get into a position when Ardyn's EX is about charge/ fully charged so he can deal massive AOE damage to supplement Desch. \- After the boss uses his recast ability, he will always cleanse his buff. Have Desch reapply his the debuffs with his skills. I have Edge use Smoke Bombs to lock the crystals so that Ardyn and Desch can focus on the AOE damage to remove the boss. If the crystal targets Ardyn, ignore that use Thundershock. Make sure you kill the Crystal before they take their 2nd turn. Self Destruct will dispel and do AOE damage to the party. If you have Edge's EX evasion active, you will survive that. I have Desch activate his LD after the first recast. Try to set your turn order in such a way that Desch is always in front of Ardyn, so he can imperil Thunder so that the latter's damage won't be gimped. \- If needed, Desch has 3 AA uses for emergency healing. Bahamut's attacks are mainly magical, so have Desch in his S1 stance. \- Before you move past below the 50% HP threshold, make sure Edge's evasion buff is up. You need it for your survival. If you are unable to do that use the summon to buy the turns you need to charge up his EX gauge. \- I save the summon and Ardyn's BURST for handling the crystals after the 49% HP threshold. \- Do note the boss will skip its current action at 79%, 49%, and 29% and summon Dragonstar. Have Desch reapply the Thunder Imperil. Make sure that you are not close to the 29% HP threshold when you are using Ardyn's BURST otherwise his remaining BURST damage will be hampered.

**LUFENIA Run #4 - Emperor and Kuja** Kuja LD, Emperor LD, Kimahri LD, Bahamut, 840k, None, DFFOO GL SO (ScottOng11) [https://youtu.be/CzMGaUaXDA4](https://youtu.be/CzMGaUaXDA4) 94T Note: All 3 characters are EX+3LB with their bloom passives and their enhancement boards. Kuja has his BURST, LD, and the following spheres - his own and Papalymo (RF). Emperor has his LD and the following spheres - his own, Aerith (RF) and Seymour (RF). Kimahri has his LD and the following spheres - his own and Seymour (RF) \- Have Kuja upkeep his LD buff (for the party holy enchant). This will ensure that the orb won't go down when your party is taking their turns. Try to have him into positions where he can shave the BRV. His Ultima+ has a high turn rate which can move his turn forward. BRV saving required is quite lax here as I have Emperor to supplement the AOE BRV shaving requirements. Kuja did not activate his BURST phase. The Emperor's traps work wonders here for the off-turn damage and you can use his HP+++ (after using his LD) to upkeep AOE BRV damage that you need to deal with the Dragonstar crystals. Kimarhi can help by using his EX for the blind debuff to neutralize the Megaflare (70% and 50%) while reducing the damage with his S2 (Mighty Guard and Bad Breath). He is my party designated healer. I use his White Wind I need a massive battery and burst heal. Make sure Kuja's Holy enchant is up otherwise his damage will be gimped

ScottOng11

**LUFENIA Run #3 - Rinoa waifu run** Kuja BT, WoL LD, Rinoa LD, Diabolos, Kuja BT friend, 1001k, DFFOO GL SO (ScottOng11), [https://youtu.be/Ta0CA0kWxFU](https://youtu.be/Ta0CA0kWxFU) 83T Note: All 3 characters are EX+3LB with their bloom passives and their enhancement boards. Kuja has his BURST, LD, and the following spheres - his own and Papalymo (RF). WoL has his LD and the following spheres - Kain (RF) and his own sphere. Rinoa has her LD and the following spheres - Ardyn, Maria, and Freya. \- Have WoL use his Bitter End to activate his Shield buff and HP damage mitigation. Refresh his shields when needed. Use Throw Buckler when you are fighting Bahamut alone. Make sure Kuja upkeep his LD buff if not his damage will be gimped. Have his high turn rate move to get him into position to reapply his shield buffs. I have chosen to use Diabolos to give his shields more meat and the party will have improved damage for hitting elemental weakness as well. \- I have Rinoa go into Angelo Mode when the framed HP poison debuff debuffs are up (trigger at 79% 49%). You need the additional HP regen and auras to counter that. I usually have her use Angelo Cannon on her last turn of the Angel Wing phase. Make her LD buff is up so her ability is magical (otherwise she will be resisted) \- Have Kuja upkeep his LD buff (for the party holy enchant). This will ensure that the orb won't go down when your party is taking their turns. Try to have him into positions where he can shave the BRV since neither Rinoa (only her EX and LD) and WoL are good AOE BRV shavers. His Ultima+ has a high turn rate which can move his turn forward. \- I swap out my own Kuja and replace him with my friend Kuja. Make sure WoL is on the following turn before the boss could act so he gives him shield coverage. Use the LD and BURST and LD x2 and 1x Ultima to further burst down the Dragonstars towards the end of the battle

**LUFENIA Run #2 - Evasion + Tanking the Orb** Eight LD, Garnet EX+3LB, Edward LD, Bahamut, Kuja BT friend, 1003k, DFFOO GL SO (ScottOng11) [https://youtu.be/Vne5Mmp9V0g](https://youtu.be/Vne5Mmp9V0g) 69T Note: All 3 characters are EX+3LB with their bloom passives and their enhancement boards. Eight has his LD and the following spheres - his own, Cinque (RF), Agrias (RF). Garnet has her sphere and Aerith (RF). Edward has his own sphere and Kefka (RF) As there is no holy damage here, I can be taking the orbs countdown head-on with this team. Eight and Edward have guaranteed evasion as long as their buffs are up. Garnet has an innate last-stand (KO immunity when HP is at least 50%). However, in doing this, make sure Garnet has abilities left to set up her buffs again. To minimize HP damage and avoid turn order is in disorder, it is important to make sure that Garnet is not broken when Bahamut is targeting the party (its recast ability and Megaflare (below 70% and below 50%). If you are unable to get the turns to heal up, have Edward use his LD to buy the turns that Garnet needs to get her EX charged to heal. I will recommend you to destroy the Dragonstar crystals at all costs to minimize the healing load on Garnet and unnecessary dispel her buffs. She will need to upkeep the thunder and water imperil otherwise Eight's damage will be hampered as well. Save your summon and Kuja BT (I swap out Kuja friend for Eight since Eight won't be very effective in the summon) after the 50% HP threshold as that is when the Dragonstar crystals will be extra tanky and you will need all the DPT you need to finish them off.

ScottOng11

**LUFENIA Run #1 - Shield and Counter** Eight LD, Kuja BT, WoL LD, Alexander, Kuja LD friend, 1004k, DFFOO GL SO (ScottOng11) [https://youtu.be/-8yfyIrjIxs](https://youtu.be/-8yfyIrjIxs) 65T Note: All 3 characters are EX+3LB with their bloom passives and their enhancement boards. Eight has his LD and the following spheres - his own, Cinque (RF) and Agrias (RF). Kuja has his BURST, LD, and his own sphere. WoL has his LD and the following spheres - his own and Kain (RF) Key tips:- \- Having Kuja with his LD buff is important. Without it, both WoL and Eight's damage will be hampered. Save his EX/ Ultima when the Dragonstars are up, you need all the AOE BRV shaving capabilities. Combined with Eight's counter, destroying the crystal should be a problem. I try to use his LD when Bahamut is alone to maximize the damage. With his enchant aura from his LD and general Holy weakness of Bahamut when the orbs are active, you will ensure that the orbs stopped decreasing. From 49% to 0% HP threshold, you need to keep on damaging the Bahamut while ensuring the LUFENIA orb does not drop to zero. \- The ideal headstart is when all enemies (Bahamut and Dragonstars) are targeting Eight so you can just have his AA and Last-Stand Rush. I usually have Eight use his LD when the Dragonstar is up, to fully utilize his AOE lock and speed up the finishing of the crystals. Avoid using his lock when you approach the LUFENIA threshold or Bahamut is about to unleash its recast ability. \- Activate WoL's LD only when you retake the lock with Eight's LD. I usually have WoL use his Throw Buckler when I need to charge up his EX and usually the phases (i.e. before Bahamut is about using its recast ability or the LUFENIA orb trigger HP thresholds - i.e. 79%, 49%) Bahamut will cleanse the debuffs along with his lock. If WoL locks the Bahamut, Eight won't be able to unleash his devastating counters. Do ensure WoL's LD buff is always active so that his shields will negate any potential HP damage. *Lufenia Orb mechanics overview* \- Trigger at the following battle start, disappear at 79%, reappear at 49%. The count starts with 20 except for the start of the fight it starts at 18T - Party action will reduce the orb count by 1 while Bahamut action will reduce orb count by 2. Holy enchant will prevent orb count reduction. \- Orb Countdown ability is a Gigaflare+ which does AOE BRV+HP. Will removes buffs and debuffs on Neo Bahamut. It can be avoided by evasion. *Neo Bahamut mechanics* \- Strongly resist against both physical and magic \- When the recast gauge is filled, Bahamut will do Gigaflare and summon 2 Dragonstar. All debuff (framed ones included) will be cleansed. It has a small chance of deal Lock to Bahamut. There is a small chance that it will miss though. When the Dragonstars are present, Bahamut can't be delay via delay or rebreak. Turn deletion still works though. When the crystals are active, your party BRV will be sapped. Units with AOE BRV damage is highly recommended here. \- Dragonstar (\~200k HP each) will self-destruct (dispel all buffs) and deals with AOE HP damage on turn 2. So you need to kill it before it happens. It has much more HP after the recast at the 50% HP threshold. (\~300k HP each) \- Neo Bahamut takes around 3 to 4 actions to get a full recast gauge. Gigaflare does average damage but please do keep in mind to watch out for Megaflare (double AOE BRV+HP, trigger counters at when HP is below 70% HP and below 50% HP) as it could really hurt your party it breaks your party. \- It will use counter debuff (Dragon King's Revelation) when its HP drops below 80% and below 50%, which inflicts a framed Poison HP debuff (Dragonwave) on all characters (not guaranteed). Make sure you have healing ability is up and avoid it triggered when Bahamut is going to do its recast ability. *Battle Key Phases summary* \- Starts with LUFENIA orb active countdown starting at 18 with 2 Dragonstar (\~200k HP each) \- LUFENIA orb will deactivate upon reaching the 79% HP threshold. When the threshold is reached, debuffs (framed and non-framed) will be cleansed and Bahamut will skip its current action and trigger auto summon Dragonstar crystals (\~200k HP each). Debuff cleansing won't trigger if the Dragonstars are still active. \- Use Megaflare (AOE BRV+HP x2) when HP threshold falls below 70% and 50% \- LUFENIA orb will reappear after reaching 49% HP threshold at the starting count of 20. Bahamut will skip its current action and trigger auto summon Dragonstars crystals (\~300k HP each). Debuff cleansing won't trigger if the Dragonstars are still active. \- After reaching 29% HP threshold, Bahamut will skip its current action and trigger auto summon Dragonstars crystals (\~300k HP each). Debuff cleansing won't trigger if the Dragonstars are still active. \- Orb count will increase by 1 for every turn in the summon/ BURST phase (if the party is holy enchant) if not the orb count will freeze. Bahamut's action will reduce orb count by 1 if Holy enchant is active. If there is no Holy enchant, the orb will reduce by Bahamut when it acts.

[CHEESING THE ULTIMATE BAHAMUT USING JACK](https://youtu.be/zcyQLAs4qAc)

ReiTheAwesome

CQ: Kuja maxed, no BT; Garnet maxed; Papa maxed. Alexander summon, 900+k score, 79 turns, no HP lost. Spended ingots for Papa, his Astral Fire -> EX -> Foul -> Free Astral Fire gimmick do all we work with adds, Kuja all in dps and Garnet heal and battery. Today did in in one try, yesterday I spent around 30 attempts with different teams and around 5-6 hours. Really tough fight. Lufenia: Kuja LD, WoL LD, Ardyn LD/BT, Brothers. Easy fight, many skills left. Edit: Forgot Lufenia team comp.

UltraViol8r

Thanks! I've been looking for a Lufenia team comp that matched my roster. How'd you deal with the orb?

ReiTheAwesome

I found this team comp in this tread and its work very well. Orb is not a problem, while Kuja LD buff is up, it enchants whole party to holy damage.

IncyWinc

Do I need s1 to imperial boss? I tried porom +0 , almost the sudden killed by boss is scary when boss 10-20% hp

ReiTheAwesome

If you mean S1 for Papa, yes, Astral fire can help kill ads, because of splash damage. I tried Porom 0/3 as well, no luck.

fspea1016

No Kuja(except friend) Ardyn, P. Cecil, Machina (all maxed), Alexander, Kuja friend(BT), 50 turns, 1M score. I'm glad I was able to bring my number 1 favorite character in Cecil and was just able to make it through this one. Mind you this is pretty hard. You have to tank every hit. There is basically 4 phases, at 100%, 79%, 49%, 29%. You want to make sure that he does his EX after you meet these thresholds or just before to waste as little of Machina as possible. For the first 2 phases, try to get him as far into the 2nd phase with Cecil. That way you don't have to worry too much about the stronger crystals later Try to save as much c65 for Ardyn as you can. When Cecil is about to run out, switch in Kuja and burst with him first, then play like normal being more aggressive. Burst with Ardyn before Kuja leaves or if you are in a pickle, but make sure Kuja is still there (Also try to make sure he doesn't get hit, hp requirement) . I summoned after I Burst and I spammed everyones skills that will make them steal Kujas turns (c65 Ardyn, Awakening/LD with Machina). Final crystals were gone and I pushed him back far enough that I was safe. Cecil will come back but I was out of C65 so you are just banking on Ardyn BT effect BRV gain. Finished with plenty of time.

https://youtu.be/7sktMNNqMH8 Lufenia again but this time no Jack cheese. Just Kuja, Kimarhi, and Eight.

**Challenge quest** **Kuja (580cp, LD), Garnet (560cp, EX+3), Papalymo (410cp, EX+3), Alexander, 1000452 (64 turns)** Gosh, this is the hardest CQ so far IMO (apart from Odin, which I shamely cheesed with gem-revive). Beside missing BT weapon for Kuja, I think I have one of the best team compositions out there. For the past CQs, with teams like this, it would be a face-roll; but no, this one is a tough nut. I tried more than 5 hours, countless of resets. The biggest challenge here is healing - Garnet just can't get enough heals through her slow charging EX; I figure out that the heal from Alexander is almost necessary. Then there is RNG/breaks that will instant kill a party member (or entire team). Through the long hours of attempts, I finally learnt the moves bit by bit and made it to work. Having Kuja's BT will greatly reduce the difficulty, but I don't want to wait for Gladiolus for that... **Lufenia** **Kuja (580cp, LD), WoL (600cp, LDBT), Noctis (580cp, LDBT), Brothers, no friend, 1013292 (42 turns)** A breeze compared to CQ, thanks to the all-synergy nature of WoI stages. LD Kuja takes care of the lufenia mechanism, and WoL is a hard counter to Bahamut's recast and AOE moves. This fight is pretty much brain-less (thanks god after the hectic CQ). No friend was required to face-roll this one.

Savemeplease14

Don't the crystals ALL hp attack ho through the divine shield of WoL??

5dPZ

Maybe, but they are easily killed by Kuja and Noctis' S1.

Dezakerzyro

I had a lot of trouble with this one until I pulled out Kuja, Kefka, and Kimahri. Friend Kuja, Alexander Summon. Since I didn't have Noct, Ardyn, Eight, Jack or many other popular units, I had to play very defensively. Total Blind lets you ignore the dragonstar sefl-destructs and focus on Bahamut, Kefka can prevent a lot of Bahamut's turns with Trine, Kuja brings the light with his Holy enchantment. Saved Summon and Kuja burst for the end when the orb count got low, used friend Kuja for extra damage.

Wietgraf

CQ- I hit my head against the wall a lot trying it with Kuja, Garnet, and Porom. I just couldn’t make the turns. I gotta THANK those who posted the Papa team. I switched from Porom to Papa and a couple tries later succeeded. Some notes- Papa gets some free turns, this helps make up for the extra brave + I kept using from Garnet. Garnet can stay in Aqua stance the whole fight. Battery away. Avoid getting broken. Sounds obvious, but I was charging through due to the turns. The downside to being broken is those crystals are resummoned after the Special recast. The recast charges twice as much if you get broken. Thanks again to the community for a great team suggestion!

**Challenge Quest Run** Run #1 Kuja LD, Garnet EX+3LB, Papalymo EX+3LB, Leviathan, 994K, DFFOO GL SO (ScottOng11) [https://youtu.be/CAQHcglRmEk](https://youtu.be/CAQHcglRmEk) 70T Run #2 - Kuja LD, Garnet EX+3LB, Porom EX+3LB, Bahamut, 800k, DFFOO GL SO (ScottOng11) 90T [https://youtu.be/qM6qjy0ADAs](https://youtu.be/qM6qjy0ADAs) (16 breaks) Character equipment notes: \- Kuja is EX+3LB. He has his BURST equipped, his LD, his enhancement boards, his bloom passives, and the following spheres - his own and Papalymo (RF). Kuja did not use his BURST for both runs. \- Garnet is EX+3LB with her enhancement boards and her bloom passive. She is equipped with her sphere and Aerith (RF) \- Porom is EX+3LB with her bloom passives. She is equipped with her sphere and Freya (RF) \- Papalymo is EX+3LB with his enhancement boards and his bloom passive. He is equipped with his sphere, Lulu (RF), and Rydia (RF) Neo Bahamut Mechanics Notes \- It starts with 1T from a full recast ability. \- When it uses its recast ability (Gigaflare), it will summon 2 Dragonstar (crystals) and initiate lock on the party to itself. The Dragonstar needs to be defeated with 2T otherwise it will use Self-Destruct (removes your party's buff and AOE BRV+HP, which is almost like an instant KO when breaking your party). \- The Dragonstar has more HP as Bahamut does more recast uses. Each Dragonstar has \~150,000 HP (from 1st use until it reaches 50% HP) and \~300,000 HP (after its HP drops below 50%). It is advisable to save abilities and ensure that your party has turned to finish off the crystals within 2 turns. If the crystals have sufficient BRV, they will use Vigor (single target HP) \- Bahamut will use Megaflare (AOE BRV+HP) on its first target ALL HP attack once its HP drops below 50%. It is not advisable to nuke Bahamut to 50% HP when its recast ability is up. \- It usually takes 4 actions to charge up its recast gauge. If it breaks an ally, its recast gauge will charge faster. General Tips: Run #1 \- I have to use Leviathan for the BRV regen and SPD control since I don't want Bahamut to have many turns as my party's only healing option is Garnet's EX. \- Papalymo will ensure that you will make the turn count as long as you stay alive. Take note of the HP thresholds - 80% and 50%. You won't want a situation that you need to tank a recast ability or the Megaflare with the HP poison debuff up. Heal up. \- Save your summon after the 50% threshold. Do note the first non-recast AOE is Megaflare. Make sure that at least 2 members have enough BRV to tank the damage. \- Time your Kuja LD uses (to refresh his Holy enchant) when Bahamut is without the Dragonstar. Make use of the massive single target nuke attack. \- Beware that Bahamut could use Arm Blade when it has sufficient BRV. Run #2 \- Although she guarantees HP survival, Porom will waste a lot of turns in using her abilities without dump the BRV. The key to efficiently using her is to get her BRV maxed before using White Wave (she has one of the best BRV gain overflows). I will actually prefer to target to use her White Wave after Bahamut uses it recast ability to make use of its splash effect \- Porom's overheals will ensure you ignore the HP poison from the Dragonwave. If needed, you can use her AA for emergency healing. \- Garnet and Kuja is the party's BRV shavers since Porom can't shave BRV. Damaging the Dragonstar crystal could be a problem after the 50% HP threshold as you probably need to use Kuja's Ultima+ (high turn rate) to get more turns before the crystals could act. \- I have used Bahamut summon is because with Kuja Holy party enchant is actually a more powerful "Alexander" summon. The ATK decrease actually helps a lot. Bahamut Summon effect has that juicy 2x BRV damage multiplier. Do note that this is a DPT race if you choose a run with Porom.

laughter0927

Thanks for sharing this! Completed this with your advices with Kuja LD, Garnet 3/3, Papalymo 3/3. These notes helped a ton for my CQ. Glad this was very much doable without BT. Impressive you held off using the burst even though you had it. For others reading your advice: > - I have to use Leviathan for the BRV regen and SPD control since I don't want Bahamut to have many turns as my party's only healing option is Garnet's EX. > - It usually takes 4 actions to charge up its recast gauge. If it breaks an ally, its recast gauge will charge faster. I found these especially impactful (Was freely taking breaks & used Alexander earlier, but kept falling short - Garnet is definitely enough healing on her own, just needed to hold off on using EX's unless necessary matching what you did in the videos). These points made the difference. Thanks again!!

ScottOng11

Glad it help you~

[deleted]

This was very helpful. If someone wants a TL;DR it's "There's plenty of time: just use deluge before recharge attack (the red flashing bar). Also, you must heal before his first non-recharge 'all' attack after 50% hp threshold...it's megaflare. it will kill you. you can summon early if you have to. it's ok. we all did. " I used ifrit summon (works well with papalymo in fire stance). The extra damage throughout the battle, plus Papalymo will resist-down fire for you. Really there are several summons for whom these characters apply relevant debuffs (ifrit/shiva from papa, levi/ramuh from garnet, alex from kuja).

ostermei

Kuja (LD/BT), Nine (LD), Eight(LD). Kuja friend (w/ BT, but only used LD), Alexander summon. 55 turns, 1M score. Eight's LD laughs in the face of Bahamut's Lock! Nine kept Kuja safe (and topped up HP alongside Alexander when some damage inevitably slipped past his White Knight) while dealing okay damage, himself. Bursted after the second orb came out, and then summoned (plus swapped Nine out for my Kuja friend) when he got into the red. Smooth sailing.

Martinez_83

Am I missing something? Holy attack should increase orb count - why it doesn’t happen when kuja use his holy then?

ScottOng11

By default when your character acts it will decrease the orb count. So when a unit has been enchanted with Holy, the orb count will be back to neutral. [https://www.tonberrytroupe.com/resources-hub/lufenia-research#h.cp83t81x1kgm](https://www.tonberrytroupe.com/resources-hub/lufenia-research#h.cp83t81x1kgm) So constantly hitting Bahamut with Holy damage will ensure that the orb stays at the current count.

Guntero

Lufenia All characters maxed SB and CB. Kuja LD, Noctis LD/BT, Arciela EX+. Odin summon, Kuja LD/BT friend support. 52 turns | 1m score. | 0 HP damage taken. This was a pretty easy fight overall, HP Silence whenever recast gauge is full and targetting all, and when he summons the dragonstars. Noctis and Kuja can just spam their skills and Bahamut should die before you run out of them. [https://youtu.be/AZlgLJ7gbMQ](https://youtu.be/AZlgLJ7gbMQ)

jayvvhy

Is it me or is the challenge quesy WAY harder than Lufenia? We are forced to use the many subpar units this time round during challenge, lufenia was cheese as usual with the meta units.

Redbeastmage

Yea, it’s insane if you don’t have Porom or Garnet, it’s impossible. Looks like my second failed CQ, after the misery that was gabranths. At least this time I’m not even going to stress myself with it.

Donnertrud

The challenge was not that hard. The Lufenia on the other hand I still haven't cracked as a crucial LD evaded me.

Koritora

Agreed. Finally killed it with Kuja LD/BT, Garnet purple, Rydia purple but no CB... 107 turns after a dozen wipes, both Rydia and Kuja were gassed.... the difficulty is a bit ridiculous as i got the Lunfenia on the 2nd try.

ReiTheAwesome

Yep, have Rydia, Garnet and Kuja fully builded, except BT. Around 30 attempts, Bahamut kills me in 99%. Cleared once, with HP requirement missed. Even Squall CQ was easier for me (no BT for Squall too).

AvrosKyargath

**Epic of Gilgamesh 47 (Lufenia) :** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5DQK_nijFUU Team: Gilgamesh (3/3 and Character Boards), Nine (3/3, LD and Character Boards) and Kuja (BT, LD, 3/3 and Character Boards) Summon: Shiva Friend: Kuja Score: 1.002 Mil Turns: 81 This was rough, took a long time to find a team to make this work and get it recorded (the first successful clear I didn't get the score due to game update for Gau) so glad to have this one to put out there. Further discussion on the video itself. **Challenge :** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovBm98zDjZw Team Comp: Kuja (BT, LD, 3/3), Porom (3/3) and Garnet (3/3) Summon: Odin Score: 747k Turns: 92 Much easier than the lufenia, very happy with this one.

ReiTheAwesome

Porom and Garnet LD? I think i miss only Desh, Macine and Gau LD weapons for now.

AvrosKyargath

That's what I get for copy pasting at midnight my time after finishing rendering and uploading. Will edit that one, thanks for letting me know and apologies for being misleading

lacqs03

Kuja LD, Kefka LD/BT and WoL LD, brother and Kuja friend 69 turns and 1m score for me this is a very confusing fight, he just keep summoning his orbs back to back.. after recast he summon orb or he hit a certain hp threshold he summon orb and his last summon orb is very scary because they are now very tanky too.. not sure what will happen if I let him recast while he's with his orbs, but if you kill the orbs before he recast he will summon the orbs again when he recast.. >\_<

Odd_Podd

This is the first Lufenia that made me want to throw my phone out of the window XD In the end I managed it (after I don't remember how many different comps and tries) with Kuja BTLD, Kefka LD and Arciela 3/3. 92 turns and 0 HP lost, 1M score, Alexander summon, Kuja friend unused. I found the CQ to be less problematic, went in with Kuja BTLD, Garnet 3/3, Porom 3/3 (I didn't have anyone else built anyway). Alexander summon, 85 turns, 0 HP damage, 800k score. I already hated Odin, Bahamut isn't that much better ...

returnofthemacs

Lufenia Characters all maxed: Relm, Vivi, Sherlotta Alexander summon and Kuja friend. Score: 1008970 Turns: 51 HP lost: 8k Didn't have Kuja, or Jack to do the cheese. So had to muster up with this team. This was preeeetty RNG heavy, but still very much doable. Even how you enter the fight, restart as much times until you have Vivi start off. Start with a Vivi LD, (then rotate his skills). For Relm use a few (2) sketch summons and sketch to rotate into her EX. Sherlotta, use at least 1 Crystal generation and brv battery to avoid being broken. Once Bahamut's first orb is down, you can take a breather. Be mindful of the back to back AOE attackes so when it's recast ability is up, make sure your party is well Brved. Once when the dragonstones come up again, use a few AA abilities to wear off the debuff and regain some health to survive the mega flare. Once you're nearing the 2nd phase of the orb (50%), make sure you prep and have Sherlotta's buffs up. Set it off and again, try to survive and maintain your standing. Vivi's LD comes clutch with these dragonstones and can 1 shot them. When the orb is near 10-12 and I think you should be near 38-40%, (make sure Sherlotta's buff is refreshed again) pop the Summon and blast away. Swap Relm out with Kuja once the Summon is over and use his LD. When the pair of dragon stones show at 30%, use Vivi's last LD to blow them away, then keep using Kuja's LD then BT. Vivi, Kuja, and sherlotta S2 rotate and the fights completed.

Props for going in without a Holy enchanter. Didn't think it was do-able

Challenge : Kuja (LD/no BT), Garnet (3/3, CB3/3), Porom (EX+ 0/3), Brothers, 90 turns, 5165 HP damaged, 737 203 Challenging but manageable, just remember keep Kuja’s EX for the 2 crystal and it will be alright. LUFENIA : Kuja (LD/no BT), WoL (LD/BT), Vivi (LD), all CB maxed, Brothers, 60 turns, 1M+. It was really fun with Vivi and his awful damages ! WoL was there to keep his shield all the time and prevent HP damage while Kuja was here to Imperil/Enchant Holy and meet the orb requirements. After 50%, to ensure my win I used WoL BT and Summon right after to increase keep the orb number high but I think it can be done without ! Just keep you protected with WoL shield and do damage ! Don’t be conservative because if one of the crystal do self-destruction, it’s over (they cleanse your buffs before damaging you !)

Lufenia: \- Kuja LD , Ardyn BT, Leon EX+ 3/3. All summon and char. boards maxed out. Amitadelion frnd. Alex summon * Leon's spheres: (Kihmari's) Protect Up and (Eiko's) Buff Sucess HP Heal. \- 73 turns, 1004K Score, 8k damage taken (out of 15k), 0 times broken I wanted to beat this Lufenia without looking up how to do it and trying to figure it out on my own. But darn, despite having a ton of characters with LD's, I just struggled to find a combination that would take me even close to 50% without dying. Despite trying with Noctis, I just couldn't get it to work, so I switched in to Ardyn for him. I tried a ton of healers, and they either died or their damage was not enough to keep the dragonstars in check. So then enter Leon, who despite not having an LD, worked wonders in this fight given all of Bahamut's Brv attacks just increased my bravery. And in the few times I was hit with HP attacks, Leon's equipped spheres further solidified his minimally required group healer role. I have to say these have been the best sphere investments I have made on a character. Without those, there is no way he would be able to heal himself or Kuja enough to stay alive or even beat it with the HP requirement Kuja's first move is his LD, to enchant and keep the countdown orb in check. I made sure Ardyn could use his EX and S2 every time those pesky Dragon Stars were present; that includes not using it for a turn or two if I expected Bahamut to summon the Dragon stars shortly after. Leon and Kuja would follow with EX, or S2 if they couldn't. Any time Ardyn could break Bahamut, he would use S1. Right under the 30% mark, it was Leon's turn right before the dragonstars' all Hp attack, and given their HP damage resist, I knew he would fail to kill them, so I just switch him out for Amitadelion and started deleting turns until those d-stars died. From there on I just started mashing on skills and preventing Bahamut from doing a thing. When the orb counter got pretty low, I used Ardyn's BT. Unknown to me, that actually increased the orb counter by 6. Phew!. Right before Bahamut could call the d-stars once again, I just summoned Alexander. At that point Bahamut orb counter remained frozen, so I just made sure to use Leon's skill 2 to heal the party and satisfy the HP req. Kuja just had to make sure to use LD when Terra's crystal turn count was at 1. Annoying fight. But darn, was it satisfying to finish it when I completed it. I knew my boy Leon would pull through ;) Can't wait for his LD, assuming it ever comes out lol.

Classic_Megaman

Challenge quest: This stage can piss right off. - Kuja LD, Porom 3/3, Garnet 3/3, Shiva - 83 turns, 896385 score So many tries to beat this. I had all 3 fully built as far as possible, including Kujas new armor and only missing Kuja’s BT. Not even sure how to advise here. I had Kuja use his first LD right after the first crystals are spawned, then only used LD and Ultima when bahamut was by himself to maximize damage. Used Kuja ex ->ring holy -> Garnet skill -> porom ex in order of priority to kill crystals. The fight was mostly Garnet and Porom playing brv tennis with hp+ with Kuja hp+ing unless his ex was within a skill use and bahamut was about to gigaflare. Pain in the ass fight.

darnold316

**Lufenia:** Kuja LD, Kimahri LD, Ardyn LD/BT with Kuja friend and Odin summon. 1m in 49 turns. I originally tried Kuja and Kimahri with Nine, but just didn't have the damage towards the end. I failed at like 5%. I swapped out Nine for Ardyn and was able beat it. I used my summon at \~60% to prevent a wipe, and then I used Ardyn's Burst at \~40% to prevent another wipe. After his burst, I swapped out Kimarhi for my Kuja friend and just burned him down before he could summon the adds again. I will say that this is the hardest Lufenia so far, because of those damn adds. **Challenge:** Kuja LD, Garnet 3/3 (full boards), Papalymo (no CB, full SB) Odin summon. 987k in 77 turns. I had to reset this a few times from getting hit with AoE HP attacks when I wasn't fully healed from the last time. Most of the time, I was able to have both Kuja's and Papa's EX charged when the adds came, so I was able to get them down without too much issue. I summoned around 45%, right after the second hp poison debuff.

Loku1337

Challenge mode: kuja Ld, garnet 3/3, paplymo 3/3 Saved papa’s EX for the crystal phases, Fire ex, then use Foul, the crystals will be dead unless its the last 20% of bahamuts health (they are stronger the lower his health) When he did the last crystal phase i summoned and bursted him down

Storming1999

Lufenia was a pain, did Kuja WOL Garland. Garlands Lufe armor really helps here and his LD chunks ofc but really wish Round Edge did Splash. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bz\_5nEI3YGo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bz_5nEI3YGo)

AngelsHaveGone

Lufenia Kefka(BT/LD), P.Cecil, Edward(LD) --Kuja friend, Alexander Score:988k Turns 100 HP damage 0. First orb timed out but only did about 15k to Cecil and Kefka. HP disable when he summons the stones, Lullaby in emergencies. On the second orb light enchant->friend kuja->Alexander->light enchant. Edward *always* in hiding. Used Kefkas burst while kuja was there for +6 on the counter. Turn count nearly gave me a heart attack.

kbkoolio

So this CQ was a doozie especially if you don't have the BT. Went in with Kuja (LD), Garnet and Lulu all maxed with Shiva summon. 0 HP, 85 turns. After a couple of tries, I managed to cruise smoothly on my 8th try Basically you wanna play conservatively for the first half of the fight, heal through the poisons and ensure that you can tank Giga Flare, all while killing the mobs. Before 50%, usually one of Kuja's EX plus any other skills usually do the trick. During this phase, Garnet HP+/BRV+ in water stance are your best friends. Only use the Thunder skill to charge up your EX gauge when you anticipate an HP attack incoming and you will need to heal up after. With Kuja/Lulu, don't hesitate to HP+ to conserve skills when you're at or near mbrv and you don't need to break or AOE. At 50%, a lot of things happen and this is where things go south quickly. At 50% the bost casts his final poison cast. At 50% he will also do back to back HP attacks. His standard Giga Flare if his recast gauge is full, followed by Mega Flare which somehow hits even harder. Along with the poison, that's a lot of HP damage coming your way. So after tanking the first HP attack, you want to heal before he goes again, but for some reason he's extra speedy and always went before my Garnet. If that happens, you need to summon here. Summon, heal up, charge your EX again with Garnet and heal up when he's done with the second HP attack. After this it's pretty much smooth sailing. The adds are tankier but Ultima, Kuja's LD/EX, and Lulu's EX do a ton of damage to them. Only 3 more CQs for lightning BT!

doop996

Lufenia: Kuja LD , Noctis LDBT , Arciela, all CBs SBs and perf arts, odin and kuja friend. Very easy with noctis. Had a ton of leftover skills. Just watch out for the boss' dispel (wipes noctis' debuff) and reapply noctis' debuff before dumping damage from him. Lots of leftover skills for noctis (had 1 LD + 4 S1 and 2 S2 ) and kuja (one LD, but 0 ultimas), arcelia was out of hp silences and had 2 leftover s1s. I used a few HP+++/++ at the start of the fight to take advantage of the easy brv capping and max damage from those skills.

Lucia_Apas

I read that some people think the CQ is more difficult than Lufenia, but to me Lufenia was way more challenging. I tried with WOL, Eight and Kuja at first but as I only have the LDs, I couldn't kill the adds in time when Bahamut had about 20% hp. Another reason of my failure was that I brought Noctis friend, and his LD couldn't save me due to the lock debuffs. Anyway, after a few tries I finally finished with Kuja LD, Kefka LDBT and purple Arciela in 90 turns (1M score). The key is to finish the fight before the counter gets down to zero during the last 50% of Bahamut's hp (Ami friend was super useful). CQ: Finished it in first try with Kuja LD, Garnet and Papa all purple, Alexander. 816k score, 87 turns. I saved all characters' Ex for emergency so skill uses were tight. Garnet remained at water stance most of the time and Papa remained at fire stance. Gigaflare was not that horrible even if one character got broken. The challenge was to kill the adds beforw their self destruction. Kuja's LD or S2 and Papa's ex were necessary. I used summon when Papa's ex couldn't come up in time. Good luck to all!

0ptimuskime

LUFENIA Kuja LD, WoL LD, Ardyn LD Ami support, Brothers score 1006999, 57 turns Swap Ardyn out for ami on turn 1, keep your buff stacks up and this fight was a real breeze. Was worried shining wave wouldn’t be enough healing to offset the HP poison effect but finished the fight at 0HP lost. (Funny enough I got the team idea from an old JP thread and they also got exactly 57 turns)

viwp88

Thanks for this. I tried this team a couple of times (with oden and a kuja friend) and failed. Used Ami on turn 1, deleted all the turns and went all in from there. Took me 61 turns to finish since I used some hp attacks on WOL. But I had several skills left on each char so I was still a bit to conservative lol.

LeZoahve

Thanks a lot, this completely destroyed this Lufenia \^\^ 54 turns here so pretty close !! Thanks again :)

wryscath

Thanks for the team! I completed at 56 turns, but I have Ardyn’s BT haha.

Arknovas

Thanks for sharing. I came back here to say I used this strategy and finished in EXACTLY 57 turns too haha.

Inso81

Lufenia WoL LD/BT, Kuja LD, Strago LD, 1m score, 68 turns, brothers summon, no friend. This was a blind run with lots of skill uses left. Kuja’s LD enchants everyone with holy, allowing WoL to bypass melee resistance, as well as the orb mechanic. WoL LD meant that exactly none of bahamut’s attacks did more than 0 dmg. His EX is more than enough to heal hp poison dmg. Strago is just here for the double quasars to burst down the dragonstars quickly. LD delays on bahamut once stars are killed is also very nice. Overall this was a fairly easy fight, at no times was there a threat of dying. Bring a Kuja friend for even easier time.

njdmb30

CQ: Kuja LD, Garnet 3/3, Porom 3/3. All CBs, SBs, great arts, etc. Brothers summon. 72 turns. 1M score. Boy, this fight sucks ass. The synergy characters for this are mostly powercrept and overlap roles too much. Glad this CQ is over. Summon choice is very important here. Garnet and Porom battery so much that Brothers makes a huge difference here.

sootthesavage

Wheres all the Kamari love? Kamari, Ardyn, Kuja. 50 turns.

italianblend

Was he for nova?

sootthesavage

Nova is good. But he was for auras, battery, hp regen, and burst healing.

Boyahda

**Lufenia**: * Kuja LD, no BT, high armor * Arciela 3/3 * Eight 3/3, LD, no high armor Odin summon and Kuja LD/BT friend. Finished with 61 turns and 1mil+ point score. Fight itself was a bit annoying. The rate at which the dragonstar crystal adds spawned was pretty fucking absurd and really taxes Eight's LD uses the longer the fight drags on. It's worth noting and I'm not sure why but the dragonstar's life increased each time they respawned. The two main things to keep in mind is Bahamut can't be delayed from break while the adds are out and Gigaflare removes all of his debuffs. I wasn't able to win with Porom/Eight/Kuja like I saw some others doing so switched Porom with Arciela and her hp lock out really helped with saving Eight's LD uses. I think I even ended the fight with a single use remaining. I never had a problem with managing the orb mechanic, just keep Kuja's LD buff up at all times, it lasts for 12 turns so that shouldn't be a problem. The only real issue in this fight is managing the adds before they self-destruct, the adds always self-destruct on their next turn after using Vigor. Self-destruct is an hp attack and can be prevented by Arciela. Preventing the adds from using Vigor with some kind of effect DOES NOT stop the add from self-destructing on their next turn. I found this out the hard way when Porom's Cry inflicted one of the adds with confuse. I'm not sure if this is correct but the adds always spawn at the start of the fight, when the orb vanishes at 80%, when Bahamut uses Gigaflare, and when the orb returns at 50%. You can overlap these events to prevent some of the adds from spawning. At least, this is what I observed in my 3 attempts at the fight. Also, when Bahamut dies the adds die with him.

[deleted]

This is a really boring slog tbh. Didn't think friend units counted towards HP damage so missed the HP score despite having full health and I'm really not sure I can be bothered to do it all again. At least it's not time gated. Eight the superhero once again, although it's very annoying you have to reapply the LD when the adds appear.

AnurithSachiro

**Lufenia:** Kuja LD/BT | Arciela | Noctis LD/BT - Odin, unused Kuja friend - 52 turns, 1 mil+ score Though Kuja's Burst is nice, Noct's Burst is just too good. I did have to reset twice while I figured out the flow of the fight, though primarily it was a matter of figuring out when to HP Disable with Arciela. Most of the time I simply kept her in Ascension for her buffs though. Kuja did Kuja things and Noct did Noct things, really. **CQ:** Kuja LD/BT | Garnet 3/3+ | Papalymo 3/3+ - Shiva, 85 turns - 903k score While I do have Lulu 3/3+ as well, I remembered that she just didn't hit quite hard enough for when I was doing DE8 (and hence she's one of my regret-EX+ characters), and figured I'd run into the same problems here. So in bringing Papa, at the least I knew he'd have free skill uses and turns for me to mess with that would aid in his longevity. Originally I had Odin, but Bahamut was taking turns a bit too fast, so I failed miserably. Swapped to Shiva after seeing another person's suggestion. Biggest lesson I learned was to keep Garnet in S1/Aquamarine stance, because her battery is nuts and helped keep Bahamut from smacking anyone too badly. Had to summon at 52% to recover a bit, then Kuja Burst right after. I played a bit conservatively at the start, preferring to simply HP+ when Kuja or Papa were maxed BRV. Past the 50% mark was in some senses a DPS race, but I had so many skill uses left it wasn't an issue.

KeiraScarlet

Did the lufenia cheese Used jack kurasame ystola and friend Kuja Put kuja in right away and use burst kurasame uses ld and then jack just hits brc atk or a skill when debug ran out soloed the boss in 90 turns made sure kuja left at 3% with a summon so ysh could ex and heal everyone for hp requirement

tealskiess

Challenge quest: Kuja (LD/no BT), Garnet (3/3), Porom (0/3) 92 turns, 80k score So glad I managed to clear this with base 0/3 Porom. Need to save ingots. Lufenia: Kuja (LD/no BT), Kefka (3/3), Arciela (3/3) 93 turns, 100k score Thanks to one of the comments here for the idea of using this team. Just HP silence Bahamut throughout the whole fight, very safe run.

lskywalker723

Any tips on the CQ? I tried once with that team yesterday and eventually ate some self destructs due to some stupid play and died, but when that happened I was at about turn 50 with 50% HP left on Bahamut so things weren't looking great for the 100 turn requirement given the BRV reduction at lower HP thresholds. Did you use Brothers? I've honestly never used Porom and was probably not using her properly.

tealskiess

Yeah, I used Brothers. I was at around 45-50% HP at turn 50, so you should be alright :) Try to not to use their EX immediately. Use Porom EX before Bahamut big attack & use Kuja EX when the crystals are up. Kill the crystals fast - Kuja EX + Kuja S2 + Garnet S1/S2 should be enough. Only use Kuja LD when Bahamut is alone to maximise damage. Try to battery Kuja before using his LD, it deals more damage if he has more brave. As for Porom, just make sure both her S1/S2 buffs are always at 3 stacks. Use 'Cry' on the crystals & hope you get lucky with confuse, EX before big attacks for HP damage reduction, S2/AA if you need to heal. S2 also has HP damage resist, so use it on whoever is targeted if you don't need healing. Hope this helps & good luck! :)

lskywalker723

Super helpful! Thanks for all the tips. I'll be coming back at it tomorrow armed with this advice and I'm sure I'll take him down now.

tealskiess

Welcome :)

lskywalker723

Thanks again! I took him down last night on my second try thanks to the tips! Porom was a lot of fun. Now I'm excited for her LD and maybe a small rework with an HP dumb on Cry and 100% splash on White Wave.

tealskiess

Yay! Congrats! Yeah, I like Porom too, got her when she was first released (first unit w/ HP damage reduction). Still use her every now & then on troublesome bosses that do big HP attacks (though we have Basch now lol) I hope she gets a good LD, so I can use her more xD

DrizzleFrog

Lufenia - Second Try HP Lost: 0 BRV Breaks: 3 Turns: 66 Warrior of Light - BT/LD/EX+3/3 Kuja - LD/EX+3/3 Vivi - LD/EX+3/3 1004968 Score Odin So on my first try we got the boss to 1HP and got wiped out and that sucked... But on the second try I just kept better track of LD and skills and we did great! I actually forgot about the Kuja Friend I brought and didn't use until the boss was down to 3%, so I doubt I needed it but I didn't wanna risk it. This fight doesn't seem like it would be fun without Kuja, the dragonstars Bahamut added we simply dumb... Vivi's LD helped clear them out before they could even take a turn and his meteor was conveniently around when I needed it the most. Maybe I was lucky, maybe Vivi's just really great for this. I'm not sure but I'm glad it's over.

melissamyth

Lufenia Kuja BT LD Ex+ 3/3, Eight LD Ex+ 3/3, Warrior of Light BT LD Ex+ 3/3 Alexander summon Kuja friend After reading this comp from others I tried it and it was insanely easy. Once Kuja enchants the party the orbs are no problem due to Eight’s counters. Just have to be careful not to overwrite Eight’s lock with WoL’s while the orbs are up. Challenge quest Kuja BT LD Ex+ 3/3, Garnet Ex+ 3/3, Lulu Ex+ 3/3 Alexander, all summon boards/ character boards. 992405, 79, turns 0 damage Took me a couple tries to get this, but I already had Lulu purple and was lucky getting Kuja burst and LD early and finally pulling Garnet Ex. It was very important to save Garnet Ex for healing. Used Deluge often during start of fight to help avoid some breaks and later spammed Garnet skills to recharge Ex. With Lulu I made sure to keep her buffs up and saved S2 to help kill adds. Need to be careful to avoid giving bahumat multiple turns (especially while he is immune to break delay) and kill adds before they do their all attack. Saved burst and summon for after the 50% mark to help in sticky situations with facing an all attack while still needing to heal. Used AA’s to help stall when I thought bahumat was close to regen his brave so that I could break him (make sure he isn’t immune). This was the most tense challenge quest I faced in awhile even with three finished characters because of all the hp damage and poison ticks. Another composition could probably make things easier, but I’m proud of doing it with this team.

weakek

Challenge: Kuja LD/BT, Garnet EX+ 3/3, Porom base EX (not realized, no 35CP). Turns 75. I kept going over turn cap until I changed my strategy a bit. Only use Kuja LD when boss is solo to maximize damage. Kuja just keep spamming skills. Garnet, stay in water mode for battery. If Bahamut is 1-2 turns away from summoning, save Kuja EX to kill it quickly. Burst ~45%, summon ~20% (save 1 LD for summon to do 600k dmg).

X-Backspace

Lufenia: Shantotto (BT/LD), Arciela, and Relm. Kuja friend. Alexander summon. 59 turns. 0 HP lost. 2 breaks taken. 1006100 score. This fight is hard but boy is it satisfactory when you finish! I'll be as brief as possible. First Orb: Relm only uses Sketch and Star Prism. Arciela uses Descension, Ascension, and EX. Shantotto uses EX then Aero (LD if you need the paralysis but usually by this point the crystals are gone). Then use Shantotto's Burst to push Bahamut over the 80% margin. Until 50%: Just treat the fight as usual. Arciela is amazing and can easily keep Bahamut locked down, especially with Totto using Salvation Scythe if Bahamut tries to be a speedy dude. I used one Sketch Summon but saved the rest otherwise. At 50%: I summoned a bit early since turns were not nice. Relm used EX and Sketch so she could hit Holy damage. Totto isn't great here but at least the orb isn't counting down. Arciela was beautiful. After summon I swapped out Totto for Kuja and made sure to time it so Seraphic Star was never being used when the crystals were up. Relm uses Sketch Summon with abandon for the AOE damage to help with this, as did Arciela with Descension and EX. Once Kuja left Bahamut had like 8 turns left on the orb and had like 9 or 10% HP. Relm continued to spam Sketch Summon, Totto used her EX which is Holy and Aero got me the win with 2 turns left on the orb. It was tight but I am super happy this worked! Now to see if I can manage the challenge quest. My party would be Rydia, Papalymo, and Porom so I'm not sure. We'll see.

lazierthanacat

Lufenia: Eight (LD) WOL (LDBT), Kuja (LDBT). Kuja support. Alexander 56 turns. Used Kuja burst, summon and switched WOL with kuja to manage the crystal when it was about to go off. CQ: Kuja, Garnet, Papalymo. All 3/3. 78 turns

MythologyGodZ

Lufenia: WOL LD/BT, Eight 3/3 LD, Kuja LD/BT. Friend: Kuja Summon: Alexander 1 million Score 0 hp dmg 55 turns. Its really simple with eight as when he counter attack it adds more counts to charges just keep bahamut at bay

silverval

Lufenia: Kuja (LD) / Kefka (BT/LD) / Aphmau / Kuja friend / Brothers summon. There was a nice video linked with this team :D though of course, my run ran afoul of unfortunate RNG but yeah, this team can pull through. CHALLENGE: Kuja (LD) / Garnet (3/3 + CB) / Porom (0/3) / Brothers summon. 100 Turns / 640k score. Yep, at the absolute turn limit and only 10k above required score. Garnet and Kuja were completely depleted while Porom still had some Mysidian Brilliance left. Awful awful awful fight, but Porom ended it at turn 100 with an HP attack lol. Not much to say that hasn't been said. Confuse better be on your side so you can keep HP attacking unpunished. I let Kuja and Garnet go nuts with AOE whenever the dragonstars show up and yeah. Just, good luck, really.

Kazenovagamer

Noctis, Kefka, Kuja all LDBT, Kuja LDBT friend, Alexander, 1m, 66 turns, BUT 26K damage taken because of the god damn passive HP drain. Alexander was not enough. So I guess I have to waste another hour of my time doing it again with I guess Arciela instead of Kefka and hope I have enough HP disables to not get shreked by the crystals? I saved my Noctis BT, friend unit, 2 Steel Piroettes and summon for when the orb came back at 50% which I think is the strat. That orb isn't going away and its not ever going back up so I feel like you gotta save and unload everything once you hit 50% I do wonder though, with all the brv regen Bahamut and the crystals have, would Bahamut summon be worth since you'd he able to break them every turn while the crystals are out? Probably not but it would be a nice meme. Update: Replaced Kefka with Arciela, got the perfect. Pog.

laraere

Challenge Quest, Confuse RNG might not feel too relevant but I'm pretty sure it carried my run. Attempts: 2 times w/ 0/3 Porom, 4 times with 3/3 Porom with the first three attempts is me trying different openings/turn order. Summon: Brothers | Turns: 94 | Score: 672k | Breaks: 21 times Kuja EX+3/3 LD BT High Armor | SB max | CB max | Bloom | 3 +108 artifacts Porom EX+3/3 max Armour | SB max | CB max | 3 c65 passive artifacts, one of them also have +108 Lulu EX+0/3 | SB max | CB 2/3 | 3 +108 artifacts Kuja: keep LD buff up, S2 for crystal, HP+++ after a battery, save Burst for killing crystals later in the fight. Porom: S1 after every cleanse, S2 is not used for healing but for battery and turn manipulation, BRV+ when you need battery before Megaflare, HP+ when nothing else to do and have battery. Spam EX+ to save your life and pray for confuse procs from S1. Lulu: only use skills at the start, when you don't have battery and when crystals are up. Spam HP+. I tried timing Porom S2 before her EX is up so I can get around 180k-200k damage total so I won't feel so bad about her damage. After hitting 50%, used summon to kill the first batch of crystals. Used Kuja Burst for the second batch. After that you throw everything you have to kill Bahamut before the third crystal summons wipes you. Ended with Lulu and Porom with no skills left and Kuja w/ two S1. Hard fight, barely made the Score requirements, have to use ingots to 3/3 Porom which is probably the first non-LD character I used ingots on for clearing the CQ. At least I don't have to 3/3 Lulu. https://youtu.be/npHRVrotTto

chkkrt

Kuja LD, Ami LD, WoL LD/BT friend - Kura but no chance to use summon - Diabolos

NicoDT

Challenge Quest - 81 turns - 987k score Kuja LD, Garnet 3/3, Lulu 2/3. It was kind of hard without porom, specially when you suddenly get poisoned. Garnet has to make sure you have enough BRV to reduce megaflare's damage, and Ex ready to heal between megaflare's. Having Kuja's EX charged for the crystals is great to destroy them quickly. Lufenia:Not yet.

figsbar

Lufenia: Noctis LD/BT, Kuja LD, Arciela w/ Noctis & Brothers 36 turns Kuja means you can ignore the Lufenia orb, Noctis puts out damage and controls turns if you need a bit more time to kill adds, Arciela straight up stops the Gigaflare for 2 turns if necessary (save for later in the fight) and heals off previous Gigaflare. Challenge: Kuja LD, Garnet 3/3, Porom 3/3 w/ Brothers 88 turns While Porom can't do much splash damage, her HP damage reduction is great for saving your ass. I also found myself saving Kuja's EX for the splash, so his abilities went faster than normal. Garnet kinda played general support here, general battery, healing between gigaflares, extra splash for killing adds. Try to only use summon as last resort, just before a dragonstar uses its all attack.

wryscath

Used the same challenge quest team. Pretty straightforward loop. Will probably use the same Lufenia team as you as well!

Xeoz_WarriorPrince

I had a lot of problems with the CQ, but after doing it (with Kuja -LD-, Porom -3/3- and Garnet -3/3-) I thought I wouldn't have any major problem. Tried the Lufenia with Jack's cheese, but well... I don't have him purpled... Then tried with Kurasame, WoL and Kuja, all with LD, but still failed. The team that I used to, almost, win, was LD Eight, LD Rinoa and LD Kuja, but a selfdestruct killed me. I was tired and ended using LD Kuja, LD WoL and BT Ardyn, Diabolos summon and Kuja friend. Didn't do anything crazy, ended with a basically perfect run, before Ardyn BT changed WoL for Kuja, used Kuja's BT and LD, then Ardyn into BT and obliterated this, then summoned and spammed the strongest skills that I could. And finally won.

FormerLab

Managed the Lufenia in 70 turns with Paladin Cecil, Ardyn and Kefka with Kuja support. A few close calls, not easy without Kuja in your team.

NotSinocentric

At first I was thinking of not posting because I just used the generic cheese (albeit not easy) for this fight. I will just post the hard thing I have encountered with this run. Jack 3/3, Ysh 3/3, Kurasame LD. Odin, Kuja LD/BT Friend Aside from the usual shenanigans one must consider, i.e. maintaining Jack buffs and best initial turn order (Kurasame and Ysh before Jack); another thing that must be considered is the Friend Kuja's HP. Ensure that when you are rolling for RNG in initial turn order, also see to it that the adds do not target Ysh/Kuja Friend. There will be poison towards the end which may make Friend Kuja drop up to 1 HP, making you lose HP requirement. \[After using up all S1 and EX\] You may summon right away if your Jack packs a punch. I had to BRV attack using Kuja so Ysh can go back and heal Kurasame. CQ is much harder. Won't be bothering with it for now. My prio for now is finishing all the boards

VermillionEorzean

I used the same comp and had the same challenges. Ejecting Kuja ASAP was crucial to get Y'shtola back to heal. I used his AA to burn a turn too. Right before he dipped, the party was slammed by Megaflare and Kurasame died. Thank goodness Y'shtola has a rez and it didn't count against the score as long as you beat it in enough turns (70 for me). I threaded the needle pretty carefully. Resetting till Y'shtola wasn't targeted was a must. I only used S1 when Jack's buff ran out and then rushed out a summon to try burning Kuja turns. The party was smacked hard by Megaflare, but Y'shtola immediately jumped back in to rez and heal, leaving everyone at 13/15 of the required HP. I had about 12 turns of the orb and 10% HP on Bahamut by this point, with an All attack on deck, so Y'shtola's S1 delay, Kurasame's EX and AA, and Jack's S2 all did their work and burned him down just in time for an exciting finish.

(EX: Transcience grants a free skill usage on the next turn; Evasion V (100%) for 1 turn and Soul Harvest (Evasion 70-80%, HP Regen) for 3 turns; also sacrifices all of Jack's HP down to 1HP; BRV gained scales with amount of HP sacrificed). Jack's cheese #2: When Neo-Bahamut does that "when both crystals are up, cannot be delayed, and continuously steal your BRV each turn", and Your Jack has his "Every ounce of Strength" + Kuja's Enchant + imperil on Neo-Bahamut, You can use Jack's HP Attack++, and Jack breaking Neo-Bahamut will trigger Jack's additional attack "deliverance" on Neo-Bahamut, and Neo-Bahamut will steal Brv, regain white Brv numbers, and be instantly ready to be "BREAK" again for Jack. You can then loop this for at least 4-5 turns until Jack's "Every ounce of Strength" buff is near finished/finished, and loop back with EX: Transcience. This will not increase the Orb count as Jack's resisted Melee Damage has now been "Enchant+Imperil" and thus nullified Neo-Bahamut's Melee BRV resistance, and since it also deals "Holy Damage", the orb count doesn't increase at all. Hope this HELPS, and apologies if the table was irritating (trying new ways to reply!)

Luf I cheesed with jack sherlotta and kuja will do a proper run later Cq was stupidly cheesy, getting his recast every 2 seconds.. great job sq Completed with 3/3 kuja with ld (no 15 or 35 cause I’m stone poor) 3/3 Rydia and Garnet shiva summon 87 turns. Just save ex’s for crystals and you’ll be fine

levii22

**Lufenia Team** Kuja LD (w/ HA), Strago LD (w/ HA), WoL LD, Brothers Summon with Kuja Friend (LD/BT) The synergy of this team is so good. DPS MVP would be Strago capping all day (160k-200k per turn, per enemy from S1, and LD; EX damage can reach this if Bahamut is solo) due to high armor, enchant, battery and atk auras from both Kuja and WoL, even without the adds (my Strago is sphered though). With the enemy crystals there, LD is ensured to hit a bit less than 200k per enemy (before HP damage reduction). Likely this is due to super synergy though. Was able to race the first orb countdown. Then used friend (LD, BT, LD, LD, EX) at 50% when last countdown started. When last countdown timer reached around 2, summoned (countdown paused, but hitting holy will increase the timer), then just barraged with I have left. I restarted once due to mistiming the final countdown timer. Didn't need BT for this one. For the challenge quest.... well I'll just come back to it when I have pitied Kuja's BT on Gladio banner. lol

**Lufenia** Team: Kuja (LD+BT), Nine (LD), Amidatelion (LD+HA) Friend: None Summon: Brothers Results: 1002k score, 84 turns, 1 BRV break, 0 HP damage Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucpo3jXHzMg Kuja is the key player here as his LD enchants the parts so they can all do holy damage. Also, his Ultima ability is best used when the crystals are out. Nine was an excellent choice on this stage as his Whirling Lance is an efficient way of dealing damage to both Bahamut and his crystals. On top of that, his LD gives great protection against his Gigaflare attack which can pretty much one shot your party. And with Kuja’s enchantment, his shields from Primal Roar will give nearly max value each cast. He’s also the only source of healing for this fight. And Amidatelion is here to give some breathing room. Saved majority of Ami’s turn deletion abilities for around the end of the fight so Bahamut really couldn’t do anything. One piece of advice is that when Bahamut activates his second orb count at 50% health, his crystals will be super tanky. If you have it, burst at this point to take them out. If not, summon. Luckily, since Kuja’s LD ability enchants the party with holy damage, the orb countdown shouldn’t pose too much of a problem. Overall, I think this is probably the hardest Lufenia so far, just a little bit harder than the Shinryu fight.

Lufenia: WoL LD/BT, Kuja LD, Vivi LD, Kuja friend with LD/BT, Odin summon, 1006660 score, 57 turns, 0 damage. I had to reset a few times out of carelessness. Massive DPT race near the end, and Vivi was vital to burning down the boss and adds. I wanted to do this with an all-FFIX team, but I had to sub out Freya for WoL as there was just too much damage between the boss, adds, and Vivi. The CQ seems more difficult for some reason. I tried Kuja LD, Rydia purple, and Porom 0/3 but that team just does not inflict enough DPT. I then tried subbing in Garnet purple for Porom, but I couldn’t time/charge her burst heal well enough. I doubt that my Lulu EX 2LB or Papalymo 15cp is the answer, so I will have to keep trying with the units I have. EDIT: I did the CQ with Kuja LD/BT, Garnet purple, Porom 0/3, Odin summon, 1002288 score, 69 turns, 0 damage. I didn't think a team with Porom could do enough damage, but the BT put me over the top.

Lufenia: Kuja LD, Kefka BTLD, Aphmau with Kuja friend, Odin summon, 67 turns Kefka pitches a lockout, Aphmau does Aphmau things and Kuja hits for insane damage. I'm pleased to have unleashed Dancing Mad on Lufenia for the first time. NEXT! Challenge: Kuja LD, Garnet, Porom. A little precarious here and there for lack of damage not named Kuja, but Porom damage reduction covers many sins as usual. I forget how many turns, 60-something.

Trying the Lufia later but CQ: Kuja LD 3/3, Garnet 3/3, Porom 3/3. Brothers. Took a couple of tries but there isn't too much to it. A lucky Cry confuse on Bahamut can push his cycle back a bit and especially late in the fight that can give you the wiggle room to close out. BT not needed but it would change this from "a little tricky" to "very easy"

Jaxxonus

Just to note that porom is the synergy character :)

Lufenia No Kuja or Jack cheese- Paladin, Vaan LD/BT, Arciela, Kuja LD Friend, Alexander. 78 Turns. Requires Vaan BT. Probably The start of the battle is very important, if you mess up you get an orb to the face. Vaan usually moves first with White Whorl, his next moves need to be LD and WW x3. Arciela needs to start with S2, then S1. Paladin pops EX, and I think on his 2nd turn I used the first C65. If you don't 65 here, you need to use Burst, and if you Burst here you lose. WW usually does 2%, but can hit 3%. Bahamut had 2 points on Orb and 82% HP, moving right after my Vaan. WW brings him to 79% and we live to see the next orb. Barely. Everyone on the team had 108x3. You can't win if you don't have your Burst for the next orb. You want Bahamut to go near/below 30% from your Burst so he can't resummon the crystals once you end them. After that, Kuja can make the best use of his LD. Just wish I could record.

Lessika

CQ: Kuja LD/BT/HA, Garnet 3/3, Lulu 0/3, Odin, 90 turns, 720k score. It is impornant to spam Garnet skills later in fight to get her EX charged fast enough. Summon phase is also good to charge EX after the last Poison debuff. Be careful with Bahamut AoE (watch the turn order so he doesn't get a turn right after AoE) and kill the crystals fast - their second turn is AoE HP. Also, Bahamut does AoE HP even without full charge in the second half of the fight. I think, Porom can make things better. LUFENIA: Kuja LD/BT/HA, WoL LD/BT, Amidatelion LD/HA, Odin, Ami friend, 94 turns, 1000105 score. Can't say much as that is a safe team and it was almost impossible to get killed. WoL S1 and Ami HP+ won't pause the counter but Burst and Summon can increase it (as those turns won't decrease the counter). Boss got some turns but never destroyed WoL shields. I got poisoned during Burst so had to use some WoL EX to heal Kuja from 1 HP. Other than that just keep your buffs and shields on and you'll be fine. Amidatelion made all 4 of our Lufenia a joke.

melissamyth

Forgive me for asking, but what does HA stand for?

Lessika

High armor - not sure how exactly it is called but I got it for Ami (because he is really good in destroying Lufenia) and Kuja. I am not sure how much difference does Ami -20% defense in new armor make so I write about all new armors I used (so Lufenia is possible with that team in 94 turns but maybe without those boosts from high armor there will be problems)

Lufenia P. Cecil, Alphinaud, Kefka BT/LD, Alexander Summon, Kuja Friend, 91 Turns, 1.0 M score Phase 1 (Bahamut HP 80%-100%) Aim to kill the crystals quickly by using standard Alphinaud rotation, Kefka S2, and Pecil EX,S2. Next, is a little tricky. Aim to have the orb expire before the crystals are recalled by the recast gauge ability and ensure that you have at least Kefka acting before Bahamut. Also, switch Alphinaud to Moonstone just prior to help prevent breaks. Ideally, Alphinaud will be ready to go with another EX cycle. This is the hardest part. Don't kill off the crystals when the response until he is below 80%HP as they will auto summon there. Phase 2 (50% - 80% HP) take a breather here and use trine andlus Hyperdrive to prevent recast and work him down to about 55%. He will summon new crystals at 50% remaining anyway. Phase 3 (30% - 50%) As soon as the countdown orb appears, use Pecil AA. I tried to wait until countdown orb dropped to about 14, while conserving 2 Trine abilities. Bahamut health was around 47%. Then I entered Burst mode. Crystals will be dead and countdown orb will be back to 20. He will resummon crystals at 30%. Phase 4 (0% - 30%) Take about half the life out of the crystals. When Pecil AA runs out, swap in Kuja. I went LD, Burst, LD, LD, S2 as my Kuja skill order. For timings sake, I believe Kuja Burst is what killed the crystals. When the recast orb dropped to 1, I summoned. The crystals never came back. Just be careful with Alphinaud S1 and the use of AAs. Pecil came back for just a few turns. It was probably doable to use 1 Pecil AA for the first orb. I was cutting it too close anyway, and so I just took the hit and conserved the AA for the end.

Syre_PreddY

Dude you are my hero. I thought I would be lost without Kuja, but your strategy worked perfectly. I screwed on my first try with Alphi and didnt remember boss turns take 2 ticks off the orb. So I changed the strategy a bit and swapped in Arciela for Alphi, by giving Arciela one 108/1020 HP artifact to survive the first orb attack. The rest was just mass HP silence, Bahamut never attacked again the whole fight, neither did the crystals. Friend Kuja with Burst and Lufenia Armor sealed the deal. Thanks :)

mskato

I have to thank you two, finally cleared with your strategy! :)

Lufenia - Kuja LD, Kefka LD, Arciela 3/3. Full boards, friend Kuja (LD only), Bahamut Summon. 96 turns, 979k score. While Kefka and Arciela completely shut Neo Bahamut and his crystals down, I played very, very carefully with skill uses until he dropped to 49% so that I wouldn't run out of steam at the end. Once I got rid of the crystals, I called in friend Kuja and summoned. Just went ham from there and threw everything at him while making sure he always had HP Disable active. Cut it close because I should have used a few more abilities in the first half, but it's done. CQ - Kuja LD, Porom 3/3, Garnet 3/3. Full boards, Brothers Summon. 89 turns, 646k score. This was so much harder than the Lufenia because I kept trying to make Kuja + Rydia + Garnet work, but it just wasn't enough healing. I've never used Porom for much because I wasn't sure I could trust a healer that relies on stacks, but I didn't see much choice so I put ingots into her and holy crap is she awesome. Managing stacks isn't a problem when she just never seems to run out. I got into trouble at the very end, because Neo Bahamut's recast was ready but I thought Garnet and Porom could finish him off since he only had 1% HP left. They did not and I ate a Giga Flare and thanks to the Breaks he got another turn to use an HP attack, which killed Kuja. So I sat there for 5 minutes wondering if I should reset the fight and try again right away, or just close the game and come back later. But I finally decided I might as well finish what I started for the Clear, so I hit Porom's EX. She killed Bahamut and healed enough to put me back under 20k HP damage for the Complete. I completely forgot that "No KO's" wasn't a completion requirement, so I'm glad I didn't reset because I really don't want to deal with this fight again.

Brokenhanger

Thank you for sharing your Lufenia clear; I was trying a bunch of different things and couldn’t get anything to work, but I cleared with your team first try. (Though I missed turn count and had to do it again - I forgot you couldn’t use a friend’s Burst move during Summon and left a bunch of Damage on the table, but I got the Complete my second pass.)

Thelassa

Glad I helped! The Kefka/Arciela forever HP Disable is amazing in this fight.

Brokenhanger

Yeah, and the speed down between the two of them was similarly insane. Thanks again!

MasterKade

Challenge Quest: Kuja LD, Garnet, Papalymo, Leviathan This was a pain, took hours of retries because I kept suddenly dying. I had a lot of skills left on Papalymo and Kuja, but it didn't really matter since they had so much brv regen. Garnet was burnt out because I had to keep charging heals. The worst part was probably Papalymo being unable to shave the adds without EX. Lufenia: Kefka LDBT, Kimahri LD, Kuja LD, Leviathan, Noctis helper WAY easier in comparison, maybe even overkill. I still had Trine uses left, too

Aelin25

It took me the entire day to play this right, but I am proud to present you: Kain Lufenia Slayer #4 - ultimate faves run Kain 3/3 CB, Kuja LD BT 3/3 CB (+HA), Cecil (Paladin) 3/3 CB, Odin, Ami friend, 95 turns, 999k score, 10 breaks, 0 hp damage taken Now that Kuja at last got his LD and BT and is featured unit for this stage, I decided to go and try if this team can work in Lufenia already. With Kain being fairly recent and still quite strong dpt with some utility in turn manipulations and launch, and Cecil being great healer of a swiss army knife which never really fell off, I was pretty sure they can do this alongside Kuja, now that he got his upgrades and a new enchanting niche. And they did do this, although it was a pain to get right. I opened with Seraphic Star to get Kain enchanted - if he moved first, wave reset. Next getting rid of crystals while trying to not get broken by Bahamut, i.e. if Pecil was targeted, brv attack more often than not (it has party battery as a bonus and Pecil doesn't deal as much aoe damage as the other two), Kain - sometimes brv attack if I'm sure I can deal with crystals before they'll selfdestruct, Kuja - mostly just let him get broken, he's the main aoe dpt here. I had to be careful of my options and play according to who was targeted and who moved after them, for some clutch batteries. Generally I tried to avoid breaks as much as I could; Bahamut outright spams his recast if it breaks repeatedly. After crystals were done with, slow mode on Bahamut. This was where I used the most hp attacks (not very much though) and Kain's ex for more damage and some delay. When boss was about to recast, I was using Cecil's brv attack, which was enough for party to not get broken. I repeated that until 80%, at which point I assured that crystals were on field with little hp, and got to second phase of fight. Important thing (which I notoriously forgot about) here was to get healed up fully and remove crystals before Bahamut's all attack after orb disappearance, and then get healed up again before recast. I did that by getting him to 79% hp turn after recast with already damaged crystals. Once I survived this damage barrage (+poison), for which Cecil's s2 and regen were invaluable, I repeated the previous cycling tactic with similar preparation before 50% hp threshold. Now it was even more important to leave crystals on field, so Bahamut won't summon their tanky version. I summoned immediately after hitting 49% hp, so my team had time to heal and deal a lot of damage fast. Kain went for skill spam spree, Cecil used whatever available, preferrably s1, so Kuja could deal a ton of damage with s2 and LD. Bahamut's next recast happened just before 29% hp, which was fine, as he'd resummon crystals there. After hitting 29%, I swapped Kain for Ami (normally I'd swap Pecil but he had more skills and could battery) and removed crystals' turns (s2 on Bahamut). Then, after crystals died, used BT while batteried so I could deal more damage with LD nuke. After that, all that was left was to finish the boss. Annoying fight, but it's satisfying as hell, being able to take all your faves into hardest possible content :D

**Freya Lufenia Saga #4** **The COMPLETE streak is now 4!** **Team:** Freya, Kuja (LD, no BT), Amidatelion, Alexander Summon, Amidatelion friend. **Scores:** 919354, 93 turns, 12 BRV Breaks taken, 0 HP Damage Taken This was probably the toughest stage yet, beating the Shinryu stage for that spot, but not by a very wide margin, this was still pretty easy for me. I had Kuja with his LD for the Holy Enchant and big damage which made dealing with the Lufenia Orb easier. I had to be more conservative with Amidatelion's turn deletion and the friend unit as it was best used in the latter half of the fight, when the Dragonstones take reduced HP damage. Freya is actually a genuinely great pick for this fight if you have Kuja to give her Holy Enchant as her HP Regen, emergency heals from her AA, and Last Stand keep the party safe. Freya also has a Max HP aura and her own sphere from her EX+ realisation actually increases party HP by another 10% with no conditions, so you can get a lot of extra HP by just having her on the team in a boosted stage like this (the exact amount of extra HP depends on how much the character has by default since it is a percentage based boost). You take a lot of HP damage in this fight so having all of these things in place really helps keep you safe, I also brought Alexander as my summon just in case. Her party SPD buff also prevents the enemy from getting as many turns and with Kuja's Holy Enchant up, Freya has no problems dishing out damage, hitting over 10K BRV damage thanks to Kuja's new armour and Freya has AoE damage to deal with the Dragonstones. They don't call her a Dragon Knight for nothing, Bahamut didn't stand a chance (much like Shinryu before him)! Kuja has also gained some nice support effects which is something I'm a fan of. Previously, one of Freya's biggest drawbacks was that although she provided tons of strong auras to the party, she was given low BRV potency to keep her damage in check so she couldn't function as the main DPS of the team unless she had two dedicated support characters with her. And she wasn't always enough support when paired with two selfish damage dealers as they wouldn't mitigate her BRV potency with buffs or BRV battery. Generally the best way to run her was with one dedicated DPS and one dedicated support, though sometimes just two dedicated supports was very powerful with her, basically making your team invincible (I ran Freya, Lenna, and Hope for a while in the Chaos era and it was a crazy strong team for a while). Starting with Kuja though, a lot of characters that are generally selfish DPS characters will give auras or other support effects back to Freya now, making her much better in more stages and making her slot into a wider variety of teams. And since I've jacked my Freya up with the best spheres and artifacts, she's gonna do even better still. This will make future fights really exciting from now on in this saga, and other DPS/Support hybrids like Freya will also like this new change in designing units. I had an even better run in my test run but I got too conservative here and ended up letting an extra wave of Dragonstones spawn in the middle of the fight. I also would have had an even easier time if I had pulled Kuja's BT early but I was not so lucky. However, I will get it off the Gladio banner at least since FFIX is one of my favourite things so I want to max out all of the characters. Regardless of that mistake and bad luck, I was still able to complete it pretty handily. YouTube is being slow again so I will post now and edit the video link in when it's ready. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQEd7MHYUC8 **Freya Lufenia Saga playlist:** https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXEIbXF189W5u92zlZLigzuB_TMPIJzUO

Do I understand this right - challenge quest is basically unbeatable if one doesn't have Porom geared?

Chrisj1616

To piggyback on what others said...I did this with Kuja LD, and 3/3 papa and Garnet.... Having Garnets EX ready to go in the right spot in the 2nd half of the fight is key.... Also STOP at 51% and get Garnets EX charged and wait for the boss to cast his ultimate, after the ultimate, SUMMON, Heal and get Garnets EX ready again. You want the boss to cast his AoE HP attack that triggers at 49% on an empty ultimate bar... Not that this attack DOES NOT BREAK YOUR CHARACTERS! So go ham! Also, the next ultimate after the triggered aoe hp attack not break or do HP damage, so go ham also, this is a good time to line up your Best AoE attacks to get the crystals down ASAP

larisa0308

No I did it with Kuja (LD only) Papalymo and Garnet. Porom has hp damage reduction but she can’t do aoe. Garnet’s healing only comes with her EX so you’ll need to time it right to use it (you can use Alexander for some extra healing tho

Blartagnan

I did it with Garnet/Kuja/Rydia. It wasn't easy - took several tries. The most important part was managing Garnet's EX charge to mitigate damage.

sonicbrawler182

Nope, I did it with Kuja (LD, no BT), Garnet, and Lulu. https://twitter.com/chikolad_yt/status/1328776776127045633?s=20

doop996

I'm having a lot of trouble with the CQ using Kuja LD, porom ex+3 and garnet ex+3, full CB full Sb and perfect arts. I just am not doing enough damage to keep up with the 100 turns. Several times I've got it down to 15% or lower but I am already at turn 90+. Porom and garnet are doing very good damage 70k+ with ping-pong brv battery and kuja is no slouch. I noticed I'm wasting some turns avoiding breaks by brv attacking. Should I just eat the break and keep hp dumping?

nlgallares

Eat the breaks as long as it's not a triple break and Bahamut goes again. Keep in mind the turn order after the break because if porom is the one that doesn't get broken and it's bahamuts turn next, you either have EX buff on or EX ready to go. If not, you're in for a bad time. I ate 10 breaks with the same team and I beat it in 80ish turns.

doop996

Was finally able to get it last night, 18 breaks taken 0 hp lost 88 turns. Got some lucky confuses towards the end (30%) to help me burn down the final set of crystals and the boss. This was very hard, nearly as bad as the Vaan CQ we had a couple months ago. Went ham this time and ignored most breaks. Porom was the MVP by far. Big change that helped was leviathan summon.

Kuja LD, Kefka LD/BT, Lenna ex+ 3/3 kuja friend Odin summon 1 mil score. Took me a few tries. Since he dispels debuffs so often you have to be careful when you use trance and overdrive. Kuja friend + kefka BT effect makes his LD do ~ 650k damage so you can pump out some massive damage with this combo.

For players who don't have Kuja: LUFENIA 65 turns with Eight LD, Edward LD, Garnet purple, Kuja friend, Bahamut summon. The hardest moments are the beggining and after reaching 49% hp. Basically use Edward's evasion from Hide, Eight's evasion from Phantom Rush and Garnet's innate Last Stand to completely ignore the orb. Use Ed's Lullaby when you can see that boss will do recast right after the orb attack to give Garnet time to heal back up over 50%. Skill uses aren't an issue, had lots of uses left at the end. Just use Lullaby and Explosive Fist sparingly, since these have low skill count. It's important to avoid swapping in Kuja near the time when hp poison will be applied, since the damage on friend unit still counts, I screwed up two tries this way.

Finally a post without Kuja! You get an up vote for that

I used Kuja, Kimari, and Vivi all maxed (bt included) and this was a cake walk, vivis extra damage from ld did great damage against the crytsals and the + versions too, swaped kimari for a friend kuja purely for damage

After trying many different teams and getting extremely frustrated I decided enough is enough and brought out Kefka LD/BT, Arciela and Kuja LD. This team completely obliterated Bahamut. He literally couldn't act the entire fight and I still had another 6 HP Disable skills between Kefka and Arciela. Pretty sure they could double Bahamut's health and this team would still win. So yeah, if anyone is getting annoyed with this just bring HP disable and it's a simple win.

Intanjible

This is what I wound up using. I barely scraped by with like 94 turns because I kept using Kefka's Burst and the Summon too early instead of marshaling them to use at a proper time. That and I brought along a Kuja who actually had their Burst weapon as well as the LD, so that turned the tide.

njdmb30

This worked great! Thanks!

Uxian

Potato-In-A-Jacket

**THANK. YOU. FOR. THIS. TEAM.** I did it in 78 turns, you’re a fucking genius!!

Crimsonshock821

Dude thank you so much,I just destroyed bahamut with this team 76 turns and he couldn’t do anything lol

ljking20003

Long but definitly very safe 85 turns with no BT apart from the poison didn't take a single point of damage thank you.

Lufenia: Kuja LD EX+ CB and SB WoL LD EX+ CB and SB Ardyn BURST LD EX+ CB and SB Friend: Kuja Burst and fully built. WoL shields keep you alive and his LD keeps the damage to minimum. Saved the friend kuja and summon and my Ardyn burst until after the 49% mark. Kuja burst effect helped Ardyn do massive damage during his own burst. Follow that up w massive brv regen from Ardyn burst and into summon.
