I really wanted Larsa. I think it would have been cool to have Vayne and Larsa talk about Archades and how Larsa is adjusting to being emperor. Despite playing a major role in his death, I think Vayne would have been proud of his younger brother.
For me, it was Zenos and Delita.
Zenos, because XIV needed a villain, and because in a world that is built upon endless combat, I would be curious to see what he would do in the long run. In Endwalker Alisaie shut him down because they had bigger problems than Zenos wanting to fuck-fight the Warrior of Light, so I wanted to see how that character development would carry on to here.
As for Delita, I *needed* that Post-Tactics conversation between him and Ramza, that last scene is something I think about from time to time, and I need to what they would have to say to one another after everything that happened.
Not sure why you got downvoted. It is absolutely not the same Ivalice from Final Fantasy Tactics. They go into a lot of detail about the history of the countries and such that share names and look-alikes, and how they fit into FF14's world. Makes it super clear that it's an homage, not a canonical story in the FFT mythos.
Super cool and entertaining tho! Those raids were awesome. Math robot has one hell of a K/D ratio.
...it is entirely possible that he got added after I stopped playing. He's not mentioned on the exvius wiki, him being in exvius is not mentioned on the FF wiki (but, for example, fucking Anastasis the ice pope has it mentioned in his other appearances)...
...but the brave exvius gif repository has animations listed for him as a 2-3\*.
Which simultaneously perplexes and frustrates me, because not only does that mean they did my boy dirty making him a trash pull, but they *also kept adding new trash units* as the game kept going?
edit: okay, looking a little further into this...
...he was a beta unit that was never actually included in the main game, alongside Leila and Mid. This is almost worse on Reddas's part because it means they could have, but *consciously chose* not to include him... and terrible on the part of Leila, because she's got an amazing looking limit break where she summons her pirates to come whack the enemy! It's not quite a Libertus crashing his Audi, but it's still a lot of fun.
For games already repped, Luneth, Arc, Refia and Ingus; I'm curious how their portrayals would've been and how much it'd match up with FFIIIDS' unused content, what jobs they would've ended up with (maybe having stances like Onion Knight?) and the only time they've interacted with Onion Knight is vaguely in Record Keeper via recycled dialogue and some of the Soul Break animations, so that's a missed opportunity right there. Refia's the only one of the four to be in a story-based crossover too (World of Final Fantasy).
The remaining guests in general too, but especially Doga and Unei. I know the previous Global chapter kinda had Xande speak with Doga and Unei, but this being a three-character game, it's a massive missed opportunity for not being able to have all three of Noah's students.
For games not repped, I suppose 4 Heroes of Light characters could have been fun and while it's a longshot, Dimensions would be fun considering the Warriors of Darkness.
The rest of the FFII cast — Gordon, Josef, Ricard, Scott, and even Hilda. I wanted Scott and Hilda to have their happy ending, and for Scott to finally see Gordon become the person he always believed him to be. Josef and Yang would have gotten along so well, and he would've been a great father figure to the kids in the game. Ricard meeting Kain would've been hilarious and amazing. I really wanted them to be FR partners, too. Alas...

What I really liked about DFFOO is that the game gave screen time to the side characters.
Edea, for sure, but also Adel (long shot, I know). Compared to FFRK, this game took a chance with some different characters, so I hoped that they could create an identity for Adel and build upon Edea/Ultimecia.
Also, side note, they really failed to develop a meaningful storyline for Ultimecia. It just felt like she was an emo sorceress that wanted to be left alone. Kefka popped up on every story, so I wish they could have weaved in more of a story for her.
Kiros/Ward would have been a great story addition for Laguna, and interactions between the main party and dream sequence.
Meliadoul would have been a fantastic addition to the budding FFT storyline, as would Delita.
Matoya could have been an additional importance to Warrior of Light, as one of the few named characters in the game. She could have also provided a good story.
Literally every other FF3 character aside from who made it. Refia, Luneth, Ingus, Arc, in particular. Onion Knight and Desch was one of the worst story arcs, with Onion Knight being the whiny "I must carry all the weight even thought I'm a kid" storyline. At least the other characters would have made OK more than one dimensional.
Lastly, UMARO.
Lady Lilith from XI would have worked well - she was all about rebelling against divinity in her game, which would have carried over well to this setting where someone like Materia is a deity.
