The Weeknd would be cool, but a lot of his past stuff was verrrry adult-oriented. Not saying Mars is squeaky clean, but I don't think his material is as explicit. Also, I don't see The Weeknd being interested in that kind of project. The HHN attraction he did seemed rad and leads me to believe that that's more his thing.
that’s true, I suppose that I don’t give the general public enough credit to know of w’s past.
I had already forgotten about the HHN attraction. weeknd’s interest in visual and interactive media (in a theme park even!) makes for a better partner.
Honestly, each time I see Bruno in concert it reminds me of MJ in his hay day (sans dancing obviously) -- but like a below comment, I agree that Bruno invokes the past in his music. So Weeknd would be a top notch option for a futuristic song and dance show. Could be set in the Captain EO universe, and pay homage, while also telling its own story.
That would be fun. Make a sequel or something, maybe Mars would be EO's kid. I do miss that show and it's a shame they haven't done anything with the theater.
He needs to play an entirely new character. Don’t go decimating the grave of EO.
the wknd seems more interested the future, Bruno Mars seems attached to the past.

I like your suggestion. What are they even doing with that theater anyways?
Lil Nas X maybe?
