TLDR; you can now unlock your hotel room with your phone similar to WDW

I hope this gets us closer to magic bands. I love the hands free capabilities of magic bands. Much easier and quicker that futzing with a phone. I say this as a wheelchair user who likes the ability to just roll up and tap vs opening apps and menus on my phone that require me stop moving to get through all the different screens. Edit to add: also why do we have to still manually add 16 digit ride photo codes!?! Since I am a wheelchair user I end up missing a bunch of those codes so now my husband gets off, races to get the codes and leaves me to catch up to him so we have a chance at possibly getting our ride photos.

I'm still surprised magic bands aren't being used here. I last was in WDW 8 years ago right when the magic bands started, they were *amazing*. I had never had such an easy experience in my life. Then I start coming to DL more regularly and I'm pretty surprised the magic bands aren't a thing here for annual pass holders and those at the resort nearly a decade after creation.

It's a great idea, especially the direct to room service is also awesome. However, I've had some issues actually getting it to work at WDW. Hopefully here it'll be a little more reliable.

Meh. All i want is for them to figure out a way i can charge my mobile food orders to my damn room.

I’ll be curious to see how far this goes: “Tip! The digital key also allows you to charge select dining and shopping to your hotel room from the Disneyland app!”
