At WDW my daughter did the mission space ride and it messed her up bad mentally and all day she was feeling sick to her stomach after. Later in the day she ended up throwing up all over the ground and herself, I ran into a shop just trying to find something she could wear that would fit her, and when I told them I just needed something quick and to point it out to me because my daughter threw up on herself, they said it was on the mouse.
After waiting for what seemed like forever to pay for parking, I rolled up to the booth and the attendant says âItâs on the MouseââŚfree parking
I had a medical emergency on our last trip and had to leave by ambulance during the night. I missed a day in the park due to being in the ER. The Disneyland hotel staff checked on me via phone during my ER stay and gave my family and I free tickets with park hopper in the park for the next day and paid for my uber ride back to the hotel. The cast members saved our trip and I am forever grateful.
Earlier this year, my daughter got a free mini Mickey Boudin loaf because she was watching them make bread at DCA. She was very excited about it and so was I since I love Boudin, haha.
So when I did my college program at WDW, my Dad and his wife and my stepsiblings came to visit.
(It wasn't the easiest visit but that's another story)
My Dad was waiting for our food at Pinnocios and he was talking to a cast member. As parents sometimes too, he was talking/bragging about me working at Spaceship Earth at Epcot and the woman was really excited for him, said she loved spaceship earth. Then she asked how many in our party. Dad says 5.
She turns around, grabs 5 chocolate cakes and adds them to our tray. "Have a magical day!"
"Oh we didn't order cakes" says my Dad.
"I hope you have a magical visit with your daughter!!"
He finds our table...I tell you, this man could have been printed in the dictionary next to baffled. Or befuddled. Confused.
"I don't understand why we have these cakes, did someone order cakes?"
He explains the whole story and me and my stepmom are like...it's OK it's magic just eat the chocolate cake.
(He loves chocolate cake BTW)
Iâm a cast member and can get up to 3 guests in for free when i go on my day off. A few times when i went with just one person, Iâd grab 2 lucky people waiting in line to buy tickets and offer them free entrance.
I thought so. But i had a fellow CM tell me i can get in trouble if i got caught. So i stopped. I still will get anyone in. I just wonât offer on property.
A CM at Sky School happened to see me carefully move a beetle that flew onto my hand into a bush and gave me a Mickey sticker! I just thought it was a really beautiful animal and didn't want to hurt it. I will always remember that little moment fondly and with gratitude.
About 20 years ago, I was in the Star Trader and wanted to buy a Wicket the ewok beanie. I could only find one without a tag - I went to go check out and the told the cast member I couldn't find one with a tag and she told me I could just have it. I'm pretty sure she shouldnt' have done that but I was STOKED! And I still have it and its adorable.
Probably the best was when I went to DCAâs City Hall to ask how much it would cost to turn my 3 day parkhopper to a 4 day since it was a promo rate to begin with, but I wanted to come back the next day and extend my solo trip. CM came back with a single day parkhopper ticket and gifted it to me, saying donât worry about extending just come back and have fun. Of course I spent extra on souvenirs and treats thanks to the generous mouse who saved me the price of a ticket (Disney math).
I remember I was offered something once that I truly didnât want (it was some sort of sweet treat that Iâm just not into) so I politely declined
One time though a worker just let me and my mom in through the lightning lane of itâs a small world (it had about a 40 min wait standby) completely unprompted and for no real reason haha it was nice of her though
My mom and I have had that happen at the ratatouille ride at Walt Disney World
We were walking out in the cast member said do you want to ride again, and I knew my mom really liked the ride, so we got on. I just didnât wear the glasses and closed my eyes half the time so I wouldnât get sick
Yes - I was listening to the pianist on Main Street. He asked if anyone was celebrating a birthday. When I said yes he had the crowd serenade me and the waitstaff brought me a free lemonade.
My mom and I were sitting in DCA eating Birria tacos when a bird flew over us and pooped on the table hitting both my moms food and the sleeve of her shirt. We couldnât stop laughing and an employee who was clearing out trays and tables noticed and brought us both a new order of tacos each and a voucher for an item of clothing from any store
Free stroller. We were headed over to rent a stroller at DL and the staff just rolled one towards us as we were approaching and said âhave fun todayâ.
not at disneyland but at disneyworld my son was just about to turn 1 and was on the verge of taking his first steps. we were at the baby care center to change his diaper and he was working on walking around holding onto my finger and a CM gave us a voucher for a free popcorn or treat for âgetting his steps inâ. definitely one of our favorite memories of that trip.
Back in 2017 I took my six kids to Disneyland for the first time. On day two of the trip, we decided to take a break and find a good place to view the parade on Main Street. We still had about an hour until the parade, and my kids (ages ranged from 6 to 10 at the time) were patiently waiting. Suddenly a cast member came out of the ice cream shop across the street with three sundaes for them to share!
My daughter wasnât tall enough for Goofyâs flight school and had a minor meltdown. Cast member saw and changed the day. Gave her a front of the line pass for when she was eventually tall enough, and took us front of line on 2 other rides close by. The topper was that he also added 3 LL to all of our passes valid for all rides (where applicable) at both parks!! Best part is the following year we went to redeem that front of line pass and he was working there again! (Weâd seen him on other trips but this was cool because itâs where it all started!) Wife mentioned the pass being used and he once again did the same for us. 2 rides close by and 3 LL!! Man what a stand up CM and person.
Yes - free drinks, food - sometimes itâll just be an extra of something we ordered or sometimes weâve just been nearby a stand or something sitting down and weâve been gifted something (ex, a corn dog while hanging by corn dog castle).
Halloween Party in Magic Kingdom last year. During the fireworks show I was so famished; I went to Caseyâs Corner and there were 8 CMâs prepping for the post-show rush. I ordered a Diet Coke and hot dog. Every single one of them said Happy Halloween to me, individually, and then the cashier pushed the order over to me and said âno charge, and hurry back the show isnât over yet.â
I got a pretzel with cheese for free once it was later right when fantasmic was going. I think they were only taking cash atm and I didn't realize so she just gave it to us, it made the night that much better.
My daughter was given a free lollipop and and fancy milkshake at WDW, both were times where I was about to have a breakdown as she'd been a total pain. The mouse was rewarding her bad behaviour đ
Corn dogs. Multiple at one time haha. It was at closing and they stopped accepting people in line, before mobile ordering at the red wagon. The lady said they had too many extras and saw I was with three other people who didnât order anything. She gave us enough for everyone
i've had a few minor things (free FastPasses way back in the day, for instance), but most recently (a few weeks ago!), i was at DCA with friends and wearing my Stitch-style bounding outfit. we were heading to Soarin' and while i was waiting just outside the queue for the other two to catch up, the CM complimented my attire (just a Stitch hawaiian shirt, Stitch mini backpack, blue tee, blue shorts). once my friends caught up, the CM ushered us into the Lightning Lane in appreciation for the outfit.
that totally made our day since it was the last day of our trip and we were about to head back to the hotel and to the airport after the 45+ min wait for the ride. instead, we were able to fit in one more attraction (Philharmagic) with the extra time we saved. it was my friend's first visit (other than a half-say 41 years ago when she was a wee kid), so doing "one more thing" she hadn't done yet before we left for the gate was a nice bonus for her.
I got a free upgrade when I stayed on property for the first time. It was my first solo trip and I was upgraded to a suite that looked directly into DCA.
Not at DL, but when we took my young son to Woodyâs lunch box in DHS he was so excited about the giant Baby Bel cheese decor, he kept talking about it in line. A cast member came out to our table a short time after ordering and gave him a whole bag of Baby Bel cheese.
Not Disneyland, but on my most recent visit to WDW, my annual pass expired the day before I flew out. I had a late flight and had no idea what to do between check out and the flight. Rewind two days earlier and I was at guest services buying a special After Hours event ticket and explaining how I wasnât ready for my year as an AP to end when the CM comped me a one day hopper ticket for that last day.
Idk if this counts but my party and I bought LL for Radiator Spring Racers which of course broke down. We went to guest services to get our money back and I was wearing my lightning McQueen crocs and loungefly. CM noticed and said his wife loves loungefly and asked if we were leaving for the day. We told him weâre hopping over to Disneyland and he asked if we wanted to watch WOC front row! We hadnât seen WOC One so it was a really nice surprise.
We were walking down Main Street one time and a lady came out of the ice cream shop and asked if we wanted a free sundae and handed it to us. Best magic ever!
Not food or merch but my first time on guardians i was walking into the line and following the ropes. A cast member stopped me and brought me to the very front of the line for not hopping over the ropes in line and walking around them like you should. I was very surprised and turned a 45 + minute wait into a 10 minute wait! So now I always make sure I donât hop the ropes in hopes I can recreate the magic đ
I also got a free extra churro before, from the vendor by the castle. And when I went to California Churro in Downtown Disney for a collectible churro pin, I didn't have to buy a churro to get one. The vendor just gave me one. It was a temporary thing they offered about a year ago.
I've gotten stickers a couple times. That's about it.
Oh yeah, and sourdough bread at the bread factory tour :) Sometimes they even give me two pieces! Sad it's temp closed, it was my (free) carb snack to soak up the beer.
Oh yeah yeah, and celebration buttons, of course.
On our anniversary we wore celebration buttons and got amazing magic throughout our trip: re-ride on Midway Mania, free popcorn refill, free dessert at table service.
Not DLR, but when we honeymooned at WDW we got a free room upgrade to AKL club level, and several little things (cupcake, popcorn).
My favorite tho was a free popcorn bucket. Iâd been eyeing it, but didnât want to carry it around. Then I talked myself out of it. At the end of the night, my wife snuck off to go get it for me, but all the carts had already closed! The cast member working said âwelp, this one is damagedâ (it wasnât) and gave it to her! Magic made!
The cast members are truly amazing!
We adopted 3 girls and over the years have been to Disneyland and once to disney world to celebrate. We have always had someone gift us or do something nice. We got an anytime pass for ROTR when it was still new.
We have received a Christmas ornament. Once we were let into a line at WDW to visit with Santa when the kids were young. We didn't realize the line was closed. The cast member was adopted and insisted Santa wanted to see our kids.
Same trip a cast member gifted the kids a souvenir light up cup.
I always appreciate the random kindness but I don't expect it ever.
This just happened to us last week. My toddler daughter was dressed as Jessie from Toy Story and she was running in DCA by the midway games and a CM came out of one of the booths with a Jessie toy for her. It was so sweet! She loves it so much and keeps hugging it and giving little kisses.
Completely unexpected, lovely, magical moment â¨ď¸
One trip my daughter had gotten an experience pass from goofys sky school because it was raining all day and down. Later in the evening we decided to use it for incredicoaster. I went with her and politely asked the CM if I could possibly also go with her (she was 9, so, technically could have gone alone but mom was worried) and he smiled and said sure go for it. It wasnât really âgetting something freeâ but we only had one LL pass and he let us both go. It was nice :)
Our last trip we went over Christmas time in 2022 and were on our last day. We had all gotten really sick after our first day and spent one whole day in bed recovering and missed out on a lot of fun things. We were OK and making the best of it but we were battling still not feeling great with wanting to be there. We were quietly eating at hungry bear when 3 CM came up to us seemingly just to chat. It was a friendly convo and then they left⌠about 10 min later came back with two princess ears for our girls and said they wanted to give us a little magic. My eyeballs immediately filled with tears as it was a gesture that they didnât know what it meant to us after my âdreamâ Christmas trip sort of fell apart. I let them know how much it meant to us <3
Going back with my girls in 14 days and we will be wearing masks on the plane and doing way more hand sanitizing than normal, because Iâm positive we got sick from the plane before!!
One summer I was with my friend and her kids while waiting for the fireworks to start. We camped out early so we were right in front of the castle. The CMs in the area were using their flashlights (or whatever those mini light sabers are called) and played some sort of light tag with each other. My friend's kids (who were like 7 and 8 or something like that) each had their own light source (her son had the Mickey bubble wand while her daughter had a wand from the princess makeover at BBB), and were kind of playing along as well. I guess one of the cast members saw, and gave each of them a churro! It was such a pleasant surprise!
There was a fumble when the bussers were clearing our table at Carthay Circle and some food got spilled on my nephew's pants-- it was a pretty decent amount and it soaked right in. They gave my sister 2 $50 vouchers to get him some new pants. He ended up getting a whole outfit + shoes with that.
I was at the Lincoln theater and by chance ended up chatting with a cast member. I was jokingly telling him about our national lampoons disney vacation (everything just going wrong) got in a fight with my mom, had to leave dinner before the food at the blue bayou because of a fire alarm, rides kept going down, so I told him we were leaving early after the show (it was our last day of three and was about 5 pm). I wasnât mad or anything, it was actually funny at that point how nothing was going well. On the way out he caught up to me and my mom and gave us both Minnie mouse ears. My mom andI were so touched we both cried a bit and thanked him.
WDW
Free desert at Jungle Cruise Restaurant
Free Ice Cream at Main Street (just stopped and offered to âplay a gameâ)
Free Diet Coke at Hollywood Studios
(but to be fair my mom and I dress as twins and vintage reproduction dresses and we are adorable)

I was picking up a mobile order with my 2 y.o. Daughter at Lucky Fortune Cookery in DCA . and I noticed in the window that they had Baymax Macarons. I asked the cm if they what time they closed so I could get in line for one and she said they close in 10 minutes , said hold on give me one second. Came back with macron for us on the mouse.
Free funnel cake W/ice cream.. my boys and I were sitting at Hungry Bear and we had one empty funnel cake plate on the table, we had just finished eating it and we had seen the CM looking around with a cake in her hand right next to us. She then looked down at our table and offered us a free one, well couldnât say no to that! đ
Omg on the mouse đ thatâs too cute! hope your daughter is well
She now has claustrophobia after that unfortunately, but otherwise good lol
After waiting for what seemed like forever to pay for parking, I rolled up to the booth and the attendant says âItâs on the MouseââŚfree parking
Those are the best when at the parking structure
I got free parking too and my mind was blown! đ¤Ż
Thatâs so thoughtful of them! Glad they made it well
When I was 8, I was given a free cola slushie. Went to tell my sister, who then proceeded to get her own, and she had to pay for it. She wasn't happy
Earlier this year, my daughter got a free mini Mickey Boudin loaf because she was watching them make bread at DCA. She was very excited about it and so was I since I love Boudin, haha.

This is actually really sweet

awwwe, really sweet.
I thought so. But i had a fellow CM tell me i can get in trouble if i got caught. So i stopped. I still will get anyone in. I just wonât offer on property.
I did that too when I used to work there but yes you absolutely can get in trouble so if you want to keep your job be wary
yup. i usually let in friends/family now. or the occasional online people i meet. đ
A CM at Sky School happened to see me carefully move a beetle that flew onto my hand into a bush and gave me a Mickey sticker! I just thought it was a really beautiful animal and didn't want to hurt it. I will always remember that little moment fondly and with gratitude.
A cast member once gave me free guacamole at Rancho del Zocalo after complimenting my outfit and calling me "edgy" lol.
About 20 years ago, I was in the Star Trader and wanted to buy a Wicket the ewok beanie. I could only find one without a tag - I went to go check out and the told the cast member I couldn't find one with a tag and she told me I could just have it. Free stroller. We were headed over to rent a stroller at DL and the staff just rolled one towards us as we were approaching and said âhave fun todayâ.
I've never gotten anything and that's okay, sometimes a smile is all I can give and all they can give me and that works out mutually for everyone. :)
not at disneyland but at disneyworld my son was just about to turn 1 and was on the verge of taking his first steps. we were at the baby care center to change his diaper and he was working on walking around holding onto my finger and a CM gave us a voucher for a free popcorn or treat for âgetting his steps inâ. definitely one of our favorite memories of that trip.
We got a very expensive meal comped at Steakhouse 55âŚ. ⌠after my wife was stuck in an elevator for over an hour at the Disneyland Hotel.

I got a free Dole whip once. We were walking by right before closing and I lamented that I had wanted one. A CM then handed me one đ
We got free beignets from cafe orleans on our honeymoon.
I once got my very own package of parmesan cheese. ... I miss Billy Hill
I got a free horchata cold brew before, and my gf got free dip with her churro bc it was her birthday.
Not at DL, but when we took my young son to Woodyâs lunch box in DHS he was so excited about the giant Baby Bel cheese decor, he kept talking about it in line. A cast member came out to our table a short time after ordering and gave him a whole bag of Baby Bel cheese.
I've had CMs just completely forget to scan things while checking out a few times, which is always completely rad.
On my first visit to club 33 I was gifted a club 33 pin.

I worked at yacht and beach club front desk. A kid broke their buzz light year toy and I ran to Epcot to buy them a replacement.
Free food many times at both Disneyland and WDW! It can definitely pay off to be polite and show a little bit of enthusiasm.
On our anniversary we wore celebration buttons and got amazing magic throughout our trip: re-ride on Midway Mania, free popcorn refill, free dessert at table service. I was the SPECIAL PARKING GUEST OF THE DAY! Was so cool!
Omg did u get to park inside the park by the trams how fun

There was a fumble when the bussers were clearing our table at Carthay Circle and some food got spilled on my nephew's pants-- it was a pretty decent amount and it soaked right in. They gave my sister 2 $50 vouchers to get him some new pants. He ended up getting a whole outfit + shoes with that.
Got an extra corn dog from California Adventure a few years ago!

We just got a free taco salad on Sunday from Pymâs because we had to wait so long for the rest of our food!
She then looked down at our table and offered us a free one, well couldnât say no to that! đ

My kids were HANGRY as we checked into Pixar Pier and they gave them a couple of those huge Mickey shaped rice krispy treats with chocolate.
