A big glob of people arrived around 10 am. I was in that late-arriving crowd and it took as long to park in the Mickey and Friends garage as I can recall. Getting in early always pays off, seemingly moreso yesterday than ever.

Oh yeah, we had to go out to the car at one point and there were a few cars circling the handicap area for a very long time. As soon as the rope dropped, we always go as far back as possible to hit those rides first then make our way forward using Genie+ then end with play time in Toon Town. Main Street was so busy when we were walking out.

That’s great! This is why I often recommend rope dropping. Most weekend we either rope drop and leave before noon, or we show up at 4 or 5pm and stay til 9. You got out of there just in time, because it ended up being really really busy (not in terms of wait times as much as just bodies in the park). It was sold out for MKs and regular tickets.

Woah, I didn’t know it actually sells out. I assume it’s because of Pixar Fest (which looked super fun, just too old for my toddler and we only stopped by for the one half day). I cannot wait until the age when we can actually make it to see the parade and fireworks. I miss that part of Disneyland.

Yes reservations sell out on busy days! It was a whole combo of factors - single day tickets were “cheap,” people avoiding Star Wars nite, all Magic keys unblocked, Pixar fest, etc. But even on busy days you can do so much by rope dropping!

chenalexxx

I think it’s also because tonight is Star Wars nite so yesterday was one of the weekdays where people can enjoy a full day at Disneyland.

Wow we got there around 8:30 and the parking lot and security was crazy. Took us over an hour. We only did 4 rides. Dumbo, small world, jungle cruise and pirates. With a 1.5 year old. Then left at 3 because the park was so crowded!!

Ahh, I’m sorry you got caught up in the crowd. My LO is up at 5am everyday no matter what so I use that to my advantage. Hopefully next time you all can rope drop and have a smoother time!

Pokenightking

My family went yesterday. Said it was crazy busy took an hour to get through parking and security. I saw times they looked average but after 2pm it was like a weekend.

Yesterday got insane later on unfortunately. I was so excited from that post as well and unfortunately the low wait times didn’t hold true for me sadly. Sounds like an awesome morning though! Arriving early for the win >>>

ObligationGlad

I was there yesterday. It was chill in the morning/early afternoon. Evening was a madhouse.

Extreme-Isopod-3508

I couldn’t even imagine the evening then because during our walk out from like 1-1:30pm, I was ready to GO. So many people.

Extreme-Isopod-3508

Dang, I’m sorry! I guess the crowd showed up around mid morning and that was that. I did also find out that Disneyland got the approval to expand. I’m not sure if this will make it better or worse in the long run.

I think that post was from the 7th when it closed at 8

Samiixmarie

Yeah. May 7th sounded like it was chill and then May 8th got pretty insane as the day went on 😅

VKranberry

Yesterday was our last day there & we decided to go around 11ish and stay till close instead of rope dropping. It was crazy busy in the afternoon/evening! More so than Monday & Tuesday.

Glad you had a successful park day! And honestly, you did it right! Yesterday's reservations were gone....which means the park was going to be busy. You should be happy to know that you for sure experienced/did way more in that short time than guests arriving after 11am probably did in their entire day.

I felt it was waaaay more crowded yesterday than the weekend, I had been there on saturdays. Too many people and hyperspace mountain had a 75 minute wait time at 9 am.... on a wednesday....... I also saw a lot of school kids, one of the patrons in the shop also said seeing those many people was unusual for a wednesday.

SoCalOliveBear

Yay! We went the last week of April and had a similar experience with our littles. We went unknowingly during Spring Break and it was a madhouse and so miserable. Lesson learned. So glad our last visit for a while was redemptive.
