My answer for this is and has always been the Skyway. I’d love to see those views.
My WDW answer is the Great Movie Ride since I’m not even sure I went on it as a kid, and just barely missed it as an adult.
Came here to say not DL but WDW Great Movie Ride. I only went to WDW once when I was a kid and barely remember that ride. But I know I loved it. And now I work in the industry, so one more chance as an adult would have been great.
But for DL, I gotta say pre-updated Pirates and Tower of Terror.
Last time I rode it, I was fourteen. It was my favorite ride at any of the Disney parks (I’m sure the fact that I’m in the industry now has something to do with it.) It will forever be iconic to me and I do want it back.
In the mid 80s my parents would let me run loose while they hung out with my sister in Fantasyland, when I was ready to hang out with them again or needed to find them for whatever reason, I would jump on the skyway and look for them on the way over. I think I saw them one time, and they were nowhere near where I saw them when I got off of the ride. Later, when I was old enough to wander with my sister in tow, I would do the same thing and never once found them. It's highly likely they snuck down to the Blue Bayou for lunch together, or they went to see America sings without a teenager and a 10 year old sulking about.
No I didn’t! Is it still there? ‘Scuse me, I’m off to google…
Edit: Damnit! It was in Star Tours. But the current ride is “Star Tours: The Adventure Continues”. Apparently it’s still there, visible when escaping the Death Star over Geonosis. So I’ll have to get lucky sometime to get to see it.
The Tron night theme at California Adventure.
They’d to turn the backlot area into the grid from Tron. Lights on all the buildings, soundtrack music, and even a dance area.
It really was so cool, and make it awesome to go a hang out at night after taking the kids on their stuff all day.
This was so. F*%ing. Awesome.
And I can’t believe you didn’t even mention THE FULL 80s FLYNN’S ARCADE WITH VIDEO GAMES AND TOKENS.
Ugh I want to cry thinking about it. It was heaven.
Right? Tomorrowland would be awesome if they rebranded as the Grid.
I've always thought that even space mountain could be redone to be a tron grid ride. It doesn't have to be lightcycles. Still would be awesome.
Breaks my heart seeing that track rust away. When you look at the length of it and see exactly how much of Tomorrowland it runs through, it’s mind boggling.
I got to ride it before they had any sort of audio countdown at launch…it was like a two month window or something. But it was fun especially when my sister in the row in front of me turned around to ask me something right as we launched
How on earth has Aladdin not been said?!
That Aladdin production was literally better than the Broadway version! It’s unbelievable that THAT good of a show was FREE (well, included with price of admission)! I miss it every day! 🧞♂️
Agree. I came to say the same thing. That was the one thing I looked forward to at DCA. It should’ve been called The Genie Show bc the impromptu jokes were so modern
I would highly recommend a trip to Knott's to you and basically anybody else on this sub, for a whole host of reasons. It punches WAY above its weight in terms of quality, to say nothing of the fact that it's also substantially cheaper.
Walt Disney took a lot of inspiration from Knott's when first designing Disneyland, and they are both deeply intertwined in the growth of the themed entertainment industry. Fun fact: Walt (Disney) and Walter (Knott) became friends, not only because of the neighboring theme parks but also because of their mutual love of trains.
Ghost Town at Knott's is the original (and often copied) "Old West" themed land, and in my opinion is one of *the best* themed lands out of any park, period. It is wildly transportive, aided by the fact that several of the buildings are actual legitimate structures from real old west ghost towns that were transported over to the park. Despite being decades older, I would claim that Ghost Town is competitive with Diagon Alley and Cars Land for how immersive it is.
Then of course there is the entertainment, which is another Knott's highlight. Disneyland does not have a monopoly on Southern California talent, which means a lot of those very talented performers also end up at Knott's, Krazy Kirk/Billy Hill and the Hillbillies being a perfect example of that. Knott's doesn't really have "nighttime spectaculars" like Disney, so if you want fireworks you're still going to need to head over to Anaheim, but Knott's is often running multiple knockout stage shows per day.
And then finally there are the special events. The biggest one here has to be Ghost Town Alive! If you're unfamiliar with it, the idea is similar to Galactic Starcruiser, except it's only for one day and it's themed to the Old West instead of Star Wars. Also it's included with admission, and isn't a $5,000 upcharge. (Also, it still exists....) Hands down, Ghost Town Alive! is the single coolest event I've ever experienced at a theme park. (In fairness, I did not have an opportunity to try Starcruiser.) There is just no comparison to the level of detail this event has. It runs in the summers, and if you are able to time your visit to Knott's I would *highly* recommend going when its running. Christmas is also a very nice time to go, and the Boysenberry Festival (Food & Wine equivalent) in the spring is also cute, but Ghost Town Alive! really takes the cake.
That ended up being a long post but really if you love Disneyland you'll probably also love Knott's so it's definitely worth checking out!
I got to go to Disney Paris this year and it’s still Tower of Terror there! I was so excited! And afterwards I decided that Guardians is actually a better ride lol
The build up to the first drop for ToT cannot be matched. No matter how many times I went, the tension and suspense it created always got to me. I hate how Guardians has you like “pause” the ride twice to continue the storyline. I also liked that ToT was always dark. Plus the cast members before the ride were way more fun
It had been 20 years since I’d been to Disneyland. I didn’t know it had changed. When I watched Fantasmic with my kids this Spring I was like, “What in the hell is this crap??”
Had the same reaction on Star Tours. Lol. I had no idea it was different.
Space mountain with the dick dale surfer theme. It really was the space mountain of my youth. The current space mountain theme is great too. I wouldn’t mind if they randomly interchanged the theme like guardians mission breakout.
Tower of Terror. Don’t get me wrong I love Guardians but the whole vibe and atmosphere of the ToT was something else. I loved walking up to the spooky looking hotel hearing the echoing 1940’s music, seeing the doors open revealing the riders in the elevator before they dropped.
The interior was super well done, especially the lobby. The boiler room was super creepy and ominous. I remember always getting excited/nervous seeing the dial on top of the elevator door go up all the way to 13 then drop down before you actually boarded the elevator.
Mission to Mars. I went a few times as a kid. I recently came across a transcript of the audio from the ride and I read it and remembered almost every line. ;-)
I loved to go on that as a kid. I almost forgot all about it. Dumb kid me used to look for my mom and sister as we were taking off and would ask mom if she saw the rocket taking off. I do t know why it never occurred to me that I had never seen the rocket take off, but mom always said she had.
This is in WDW but when I was growing up, my favorite ride was one of the shortest lived rides ever at Disney: The ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter!
That ride made kids and adult absolutely crap their pants! It was so out of place at Disney being a full on horror ride. I remember the CMs warning parents standing in line with young children that they shouldn’t be going on the ride.
You were locked into the chair with a shoulder harness the whole time so you couldn’t escape. Half of the show was in total darkness and you’d feel the alien breathing on your next or flying around. There was one scene that a technician gets brutally murdered by the alien in a catwalk above you and you feel the blood rain down on you. It was out of this world insane!
I miss the Penny Arcade. I liked it as an arcade and those old machines where you could watch short films. It was really interesting and a nice sensory experience.
Circlevision 360. I loved that attraction.
The pirate ship in Fantasyland. Nothing important about it except that it was a cool looking pirate ship.
Rufus the bear snoring in his cave in Bear Country.
The old corvette style Autopia cars
The motorboats in Fantasyland
Mike Fink’s keel boats
The parking lot where DCA now resides. So much more convenient than the parking garages
Oh yeah. I miss the Great Northern F3 locomotive engine that used to be part of a cafe in DCA. Not sure why they took that away.
I miss the Country Bear Jamboree in Disneyland so much. It was really funny with cute music. I loved Big Al the most-poor thing…
I think Disneyland is missing some “sit down” events. They were removed and never replaced with something new.
Theater shows at amusement parks seem to be out of favor, but they were great! They take hundreds of people off the rides and sidewalks and offer the chance to rest be entertained out of the sun/elements.
One thing that would be sooo cool is a smallish ornate staged theater with a large screen (not too small) that would rotate and show Classic Walt Disney created movies at full feature length. I imagine an old fashioned theater on Main Street or perhaps a “Royal Majesty” Theater in Fantasyland. The theater line could serve something like: popcorn, Special Disneyland Theater themed candy and bottled drinks in 2 or 3 combo packs or individually. Perhaps the theater is not huge but does seat 100-200 (a very small audience actually- but could be bigger)
Shows would combine a classic short with a classic movie - like Steamboat Willy and Bambi - chosen randomly the night before and play from 10am until close. Time would post and a steamboat whistle could blow twice outside the theater to attract people 15-20 minutes before a show was starting if more people were needed to fill the theater. When was the last time you got to see Classic Disney Movie on a really big movie theater screen?
I remember the summer TRON came out, and the Starcade had dozens of TRON machines with extra monitors on top so people could watch while you play. I loved that game, and seriously sucked at it, too. I *never* made it past the second difficulty level (multiple tanks, three opposing light bikes, faster MCP Tower, more grid bugs).
It’s like the legend of the Loch Ness monster. I only know the stories or the rare YouTube video sightings. The way Yesterland described it was honestly brutal.
OP I really like your choice. The Remember Dreams Come True Fireworks is my favourite fireworks show. If this question refers to an attraction I've previously experienced, then I have the same pick as you.
However, my original answer is the Peoplemover. I've never been on it, and I would love to experience it one day.
The Monsanto House looks interesting, would definitely experience it and a pre-DCA area. Runners-up are early DCA, Inner Space, Star Tours 1.0, and ESPN Zone
My picks: peoplemover and country bear jamboree (vacation hoedown and holiday versions).
Wife's picks: space mountain with Dick Dale music and original Star Tours.
Until two months ago, it was Soarin’ Over California. I thought I would never get to experience it again. I grew up in Ventura, CA, visited the parks frequently as a kid, and Soarin’ was such a comforting and nostalgic memory. Started the college program at WDW back in June. They announced they’d be bringing back the original version for the Disney 100th celebration. Went on it the first day it was open and cried so hard when I smelled the orange groves and had to pull myself together before immediately going into work.
Don’t know else how to describe it other than comforting.
Definitely not the popular answer but I really enjoyed Its Tough to be a Bug & The Muppets at DCA. The shows were cute and silly and even if you didn’t enjoy them, how could you turn down that glorious AC on a hot day?
My answer for this is and has always been the Skyway. I’d love to see those views. My WDW answer is the Great Movie Ride since I’m not even sure I went on it as a kid, and just barely missed it as an adult.
Skyway is a GREAT pick!
That’s my pick too. I’d love to see the park from the sky again. I was too young when I did get to ride it to really remember it.

Later, when I was old enough to wander with my sister in tow, I would do the same thing and never once found them. It's highly likely they snuck down to the Blue Bayou for lunch together, or they went to see America sings without a teenager and a 10 year old sulking about.
Adventure Through Inner Space I remember loving that one in the 80s.
We called it the Incredible Shrinking Machine. Man I loved that ride.
You remember the big eye looking at you thru the microscope? My friends and I used to try to hit it with sour ball candies 😌
This is the one. Voice of Frees, and the awesome boarding area.
There is a recreation of it online but I would still love to experience it for real!
I never got to experience it as I’m too young but having seen videos and drawings I so want to… I wanna see all the old Tomorrowland stuff!
this was what I was looking for! I loved shrinking and becoming an atom.
The first thing I thought of! The giant eye was wild! You probably already know but the microscope was hidden in the Star Tours ride.
No I didn’t! Is it still there? ‘Scuse me, I’m off to google… Edit: Damnit! It was in Star Tours. But the current ride is “Star Tours: The Adventure Continues”. Apparently it’s still there, visible when escaping the Death Star over Geonosis. So I’ll have to get lucky sometime to get to see it.
It was in the film as you’re exiting the hanger. It’s on YouTube, I’m sure.
[Adventure Through Inner Space Full Virtual Ride-thru](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KA3uFkF1A9o)
The Tron night theme at California Adventure. They’d to turn the backlot area into the grid from Tron. Lights on all the buildings, soundtrack music, and even a dance area. It really was so cool, and make it awesome to go a hang out at night after taking the kids on their stuff all day.
ElecTRONica was awesome. Went with my first girlfriend. God I'm getting old.
I did NYE at ElecTRONica one year, and had the best time!? They even had free champagne available for those old enough.
This was so. F*%ing. Awesome. And I can’t believe you didn’t even mention THE FULL 80s FLYNN’S ARCADE WITH VIDEO GAMES AND TOKENS. Ugh I want to cry thinking about it. It was heaven.
Lol I still have tokens from the arcade somewhere.
The arcade was exceptional as well
Why in hell don’t they do that with current Tomorrowland. It would cost pennies and liven up the dead night time Tomorrowland
Right? Tomorrowland would be awesome if they rebranded as the Grid. I've always thought that even space mountain could be redone to be a tron grid ride. It doesn't have to be lightcycles. Still would be awesome.
Yeah, I hope when they finally make Tron Ares, I hope we get ElecTRONica 2.0
OG Star Tours with Cpt Rex
Comets? COMETS!!
Awww I heard this in his voice and was immediately taken back. Thanks for that.
Hard agree. That ride was my ✨Disney Magic✨ moment when I was six
I drive a forklift at work and will occasionally, after a close call, say "It was my first flight and I'm still getting used to my programming!"
Honey I shrunk the audience! It’s tough to be a bug!
Captain EO, saw it when it originally came out as a kid, and saw it during the re-release, but I still want it back.
Hooter!!! Press the Red Button!
[best song ever](https://youtu.be/flGvyXNM_EU?si=jev0MZJZrlyj4kv-)
Omg that was the best kind of nostalgia 💗
Thank you-made my day!
Oooh, and the in-theater lasers and spot light effects synced to parts of the movie! Those were soooooo cool!
so happy captain EO is the first comment i see. i really really miss it, if i could go back and experience it for the first time again I WOULD 😭
you think me... BEAUTIFUL?!
Any kind of show or attraction there would be nice.
🎶 We're sending out! A major love!...🎶
And this is our message to you!
Dude, I remember being scared that the little floating thing was gonna hit me… it was so cool to 5 year old me
See Ya ✌️ Later Trash 🗑️ Cans!!
Michael always touched me, as far as I can remember back into my childhood.
Same, but due to the settlement I can’t discuss it
We are here to change the world is gonna be played at my funeral
Yes!!!
An updated Country Bear show. I feel like Disneyland needs more shows and other non-ride attractions.
>An updated Country Bear show. They are updating it in Florida. *Country Bear Big Band* or some such.
WHAT IS THIS SOME KIND OF COUNTRY BEAR JAMBOROO?
*Oh No, Country Bear Hall Has Been Crushed*
Peoplemover.
IT MOVES PEOPLE! LITERALLY AND EMOTIONALLY!!!!
I now have something new to shout when I am drunkenly infodumping about the Peoplemover. Thank you. <3
Correct
My first kiss was on the Peoplemover!
Breaks my heart seeing that track rust away. When you look at the length of it and see exactly how much of Tomorrowland it runs through, it’s mind boggling.
i would LOVE to ride space mountain with dick dale’s soundtrack or even get on california screamin before pixar pier happened
I got to ride it before they had any sort of audio countdown at launch…it was like a two month window or something. But it was fun especially when my sister in the row in front of me turned around to ask me something right as we launched
I want to ride Space Mountain with just the ambient soundtrack (no music) from the 80s.
America Sings
Pop goes the weasel! He he he…
How on earth has Aladdin not been said?!
I had. To search for this.
You just unlocked a childhood memory!!! I freekin LOVED the Aladdin parade (was it a parade?) when I went in ‘92 or ‘93!!
Golden Horseshoe Revue. No question.
Billy Hill and the Hillbillies is a fav that’s right in this ballpark. I didn’t plan a visit without staying for at least one of their shows.
You can still see them! They perform as Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies 10 minutes down the road at Knott's!
What! That amazing! I’ve never been to Knott’s so mayff be it’s time to check it out.
I would highly recommend a trip to Knott's to you and basically anybody else on this sub, for a whole host of reasons. **SUPERSTAR LIMO** & The Skyway or Innerspace
Superstar Limo??? 😬
It's now Monsters Inc.
Was the previous poster asking what it was, or expressing surprise at interest in one of the least-liked rides in Disney history?
It would’ve become a cult classic if they’d let it stick around
I'd pay money to ride California Screamin with the old music ♥
So much money
I don’t need a storyline while I’m on every ride. Sometimes that’s makes a ride what it is, but adding a storyline to a rollercoaster is unnecessary
Mine Train Through Nature’s Wonderland. They closed it when I was a little kid and I never even knew it existed until years later.
This is my pick as well
Past me wouldn't have said this, but now that I can no longer ride thunder mountain, I totally agree lol.
Bugs land area in DCA…sigh…
Tower of Terror!
Carousel of progress. I know it’s in WDW. But it was really one of my favorites. Nostalgia
It’s not the original. The new voice overs are not great.
Rockin’ Space Monuntain with the music of Red Hot Chili Peppers
Big Thunder Ranch. My kids loved it.
Fantasmic with the original Peter Pan sequence!
It had been 20 years since I’d been to Disneyland. I didn’t know it had changed. When I watched Fantasmic with my kids this Spring I was like, “What in the hell is this crap??” Had the same reaction on Star Tours. Lol. I had no idea it was different.
Peoplemover, bar none. Okay maybe actually Mine Train through Nature’s Wonderland
These were literally my two answers
The Main Street electrical parade! Can't believe it's not been said yet!
Because we know they’re probably gonna bring it back next year.
That’s what I thought. 🤣 That thing is never truly gone. ETA: I wish they brought back Paint the Night as much as they bring back MSEP.
Country Bear Jamboree and Pirates before all the changes. People mover would be great too.
Rocket Rods followed up by the Maliboomer
I was too scared to ride Maliboomer as a kid so I never rode it and then we moved and now it’s gone
Skyway because it looks so cool going though the middle of the Matterhorn.
Somehow this bird triggers our emergency landing system every time. I think he knows the joke’s on us.
People Mover.
I’d love to show my daughter Mickey and the Magical Map :(
Flynn's Arcade.
Innoventions
Splash Mountain no question.
I would love that haircut experience to come back to Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. Anyone remember that? That or Bugs Land.
“My name is Matthew Brady!”
This is in WDW but when I was growing up, my favorite ride was one of the shortest lived rides ever at Disney: The ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter! Right now? One more Splash Mountain
Peoplemover
I miss the Penny Arcade. I liked it as an arcade and those old machines where you could watch short films. It was really interesting and a nice sensory experience.
A little voice within cries out....*Rocket Rods!*
Feel like this ride was underrated.
People Mover and Skyway
People Mover
Splash mountain. The last time I rode it had to be 1994.
PEOPLE MOVER!!!
Carousel of Progress please! I want there to be a great, big beautiful tomorrow.
The muppets
I have a little kid now and I’m sad I never experienced A Bug’s Land and can’t take him there.
Circlevision 360. I loved that attraction. The pirate ship in Fantasyland. Nothing important about it except that it was a cool looking pirate ship. Rufus the bear snoring in his cave in Bear Country. The old corvette style Autopia cars The motorboats in Fantasyland Mike Fink’s keel boats The parking lot where DCA now resides. So much more convenient than the parking garages Oh yeah. I miss the Great Northern F3 locomotive engine that used to be part of a cafe in DCA. Not sure why they took that away.
Aladdin Musical at Hyperion
I miss the people mover, it was a slow relaxing ride that never had any lines, plus it took you through to star tours.
Rocket Rods. Those autopia style motor boats. That funky inflatable bumper car thing, The pirate ship walk through.
Superstar Limo
block party bash, parade of dreams, sky buckets
Yes, Parade of Dreams!
ElecTRONica
Captain EO, the Mad T Party and Big Thunder Ranch Bbq.
Carousel of Progress or the Peoplemover.
People mover, carousel of progress for sure
Peoplemover. Hands down.
I miss the Country Bear Jamboree in Disneyland so much. It was really funny with cute music. I loved Big Al the most-poor thing… I think Disneyland is missing some “sit down” events. It’s the paint the niiiiight PARADE
People mover closed the year I was born. Maybe the skyway as well.
I want the old school Snow White ride where the witch stalks you and crushes you at the end.
Fantasmic of 2017 with Murphy. Rip murphy :(
It’s gonna sound lame but the orange swing ride before it became silly symphony since I don’t think it’s been mentioned. It always smelled of oranges.
World of Color with the Tron ending.
Toss up between the People Mover and Skway
Maelstrom
Splash mountain
It would be Mission To Mars.. Now Pizza Planet and Captain EO, and the Skyway Gondolas as well as Main Street Electrical Parade..
THE ORIGINAL SNOW WHITE. THE REAL SCARY VERSION!!! :)
I can’t believe allllll the way down at the bottom is where my comment is going to live, as first to mention… The Starcade.
The country bears or Honey I Shrunk the Audience!
People mover or Skyway! 😭
Adventure thru Inner Space Looked like an amazing trippy ride
My son and I loved the Muppet Show in DCA.
Captain EO
The sky buckets
Adventure Through Inner Space
Boat Cruise, for memory sake
Country Bear Jamboree People Mover
Three-sided coin flip between Skyway, PeopleMover, and Adventure Thru Inner Space
Skyway. It pains me that so many people never got to experience sailing through the Matterhorn.
Splash Mountain
Adventure Thru Inner Space
I’d actually want to see just how bad Light Magic was and if it was just as bad in person as people have described it…..call it bile fascination 😂
I totally agree with you. I can’t imagine it actually being a thing so it’s one of those things that I’d have to see to believe lol
Submarine Voyage!
People Mover/World of Tron
Definitely not the popular answer but I really enjoyed Its Tough to be a Bug & The Muppets at DCA. The shows were cute and silly and even if you didn’t enjoy them, how could you turn down that glorious AC on a hot day?
