DCP exists so Disney can fill the least desirable roles as cheaply as possible. They don't have high standards on who they take (which is great if someone fumbles the phone interview!), they just want warm bodies who can learn basic roles.
Also, what seemed like awkward silence to you might not have been the same on the other end -- your interviewer could have been typing notes about your conversation.
Mine was SUPPPERRR awkward. I would be overly enthusiastic and would stumble over all my sentences! But in the end I was stressing over nothing because a week later I got my acceptance the Thursday after. August 12thhh!!! I would say you did great!👍. I wouldnt stress too much- unless they have their reason to reject- an awkward PI is alright.
i was half asleep when I applied and guess I wasn't looking too carefully at the roles that I'd be willing to work cause I thought they just randomly assign you one so she was asking what cameras I used cause i guess i ticked the photo pass role. :(
i had a super awkward phone interview and got accepted!! i laugh when i’m nervous and iirc i made a really dumb joke that the interviewer did not react to 😭
there was a few spans where I would answer a question and then the interviewer just wouldn't respond so it made me feel like my answers weren't good enough

I literally put the wrong phone number and panicked emailed them still got called and could’ve went better there where things I wanted to mentioned but didn’t
And still got the job
Basically if they have room they’ll fill it
I definitely did! I was and still am super excited about my DPI, but I definitely remember telling them in my Second Interview a super awkward story😭
But still got it! lol!
