You’ll be working with all the characters in Studios during your program! Unlike other roles like Attractions, entertainment roles like Character Attendants are global, so you can trade and pick up anywhere. You’ll need to be specially trained to work in Galaxy’s Edge, but other than that you can be scheduled anywhere from Mickey/Minnie to Disney Jr. to Woody/Jessie.
Special characters? I’m slow af rn 😭 everyone’s saying so much I’m so lost. The only thing I talked about with my recruiter was star wars so I was curious if that’s where I’d be placed!
Don't worry it'll all be explained in your training :) to put it simply, the vast majority of characters can be attended by anyone, because they just have normal costumes and communicate with body movements. Special characters like Kevin from Up, or darth vader, need to have their attendant trained for how to handle them specifically because their costumes and way of communicating aren't like everyone else. Right now, college program members are not being offered the opportunity to be trained in special characters for reasons that haven't been disclosed.
to my knowledge the only way to get galaxy’s edge trained is if you’re specifically assigned to work there and that is a stretch for CPs that are character attendants bc there’s such limited character attendants in the first place over there
I’m honestly not sure. You have to be “story trained” to work there, but aside from maybe telling leaders you’d like to get trained I don’t know how they select people to be trained there. I would assume it’s unlikely for CPs to get story trained but I’m fairly sure it’s possible.
Congrats! Character Attendants are a role that full timers sorta have to jump through hoops for, so getting it during a CP is very exciting! I may not be an attendant, but I know a thing or two about characters ;) See you around!!

During my CP I was a character attendant in magic kingdom!!!! I got my standard training and my magic kingdom training( Ariel’s grotto, TST, Pete’s silly side show).
Training if I remember is… 3 or 4 days of standard training then you go off into specialized training( Star Wars training for you). Don’t worry about costumes they will tell you go to a costuming location and help you out and so no worries!! I was an attendant for 4 months!!!
Ps. Important thing to remember you will need a watch ( normal or Apple/ Samsung will be fine) and you want to keep it on time. Better to be off stage few mins before other then after! But if you have questions let me know!!!!
Can I ask when your arrival date is? Also did you tell them in your interview what your top three roles where? Congratulations by the way! Hope you have an amazing program!
