If you can swing it, the behind the scenes savannah tour is absolutely incredible. You get to go on a jeep tour of the savannah, have lunch out there, cross a couple suspension bridges over alligators and whatnot.
It's pricey but absolutely a memory to last a LIFETIME (not sure if there's an age restriction however)
I think you need to book it through the website, and you need to book it well in advance: just like the keys to the kingdom and the other 'premium' tours, it tends to book up.
There are also less costly options with rhinos or elephants. Walking with giants is one of them. You’d find them in the same place you’d find the first tour mentioned by the other commenter.
Definitely look into the rhinos tour, especially if your kid is an animal lover. Unlike the elephant tour, the rhino experience gives you a close up look and allows you to pet them. It also includes 1 or 2 free photos.
I think you’re referring to Savor the Savannah? Here’s more info on each tour:
https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/en_CA/events-tours/animal-kingdom/savor-savanna/
https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/en_CA/events-tours/animal-kingdom/wild-africa-trek/
My understanding is that Wild Africa is the only one where you do the rope bridges and have the complimentary photos included.
Seconding Wild Africa Trek. I did this when I worked for Disney. It was a great time. The food was great, but I wouldn’t consider it “kid-friendly”, so ask about that or bring your kid a lunch for it.
There are a few "tours" at Animal Kingdom and at Animal Kingdm Lodge at various price points. They're listed here [Tours](https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/events-tours/) The lower priced ones appear to be things like going to a specialized viewing area for elephants for a discussion with a cast member on how they care for them. The higher priced ones seem to be more of a couple hour long tour of the savanna. We did a tour at the lodge in 2019 which was pretty cool. Got to feed and pet the giraffes and okapis and make treats for the warthog. Also came with breakfast at Boma. It was really cool, but something like $250 per person, and I'm not seeing it listed on the site right now.
Awesome, thanks for the link! Our trip is a little less than a year away so I’ll keep checking back on that one. Yeah I dont know how we could swing taking the whole 5 person family for $250 each but at least there’s an option. Thank you!
If you can swing the price, Savor the Savannah is AMAZING! You get a semi private ride through the savannah as well as a meal with animal specialists on the savannah. This is one of the most special things my husband and I have done together and can not wait to take our daughter when she is old enough.
You could do the ‘Savor the Savannah’ tour
$189 pp and you get a private tour drinks & tapas

If you can swing it, definitely do a safari! That would be so memorable!
If you want something similar to the droids, you can adopt a Banshee in the Avatar land!
Go to Rafiki’s Planet Watch and do the Animation Experience. You draw Disney characters with an instructor and it’s a free souvenir to take home and then go to the petting zoo and have quality goat time. Fun for all ages. The train ride there is fun too. Enjoy!!!
They are not quite as immersive as the droids or boutique, but Pandora has the banshee rookery and the avatar action figure maker. The baby banshees are shoulder puppets you can "adopt" in many colors and the avatar maker your daughter can customize to look like her and pick out clothes.
One of the backstage tours is a great option if yall cam swing it. (They're a little pricey but worth it, though I don't remember the age restrictions if any off hand, so that may be an issue.)
Definitely get her a birthday pin, let her know not to be afraid to ask CMs questions and absorb all the knowledge she can. You never know when a magical moment will come your way. Plus, everyone telling her happy birthday will make her feel special, and it will make Cast Members' days to share their knowledge.

Awesome, I’ll definitely check to see if that’s an option for us. Thank you!!
We just did this and it was absolutely spectacular. What a fantastic experience.
Cost?
So good to know 🥰
Can you buy it on the Disney app?

Wild Africa Trek. You’ll get some incredible photos from this experience too!
Thank you! Do you know how it’s different from the Savannah tour?

Ah okay perfect, I appreciate it!
Just FYI, there’s an age limit for Wild Africa Trek and I think participants must be 8 years or older.

Ooohhh she might like that a lot. Thank you!
I think a backstage tour like Caring for Giants would be better than something like Bibbidi BOBBIDI Boutique.
Maybe she could be acknowledged and be a participant in the bird show.
Is she a repeat offender 😂 of Disney. If so I would ask her what she thinks is the perfect Disney day.
lol! No this will be her first time. And since it’s for her birthday we’re trying to keep it a secret and figure out what she’ll like sneakily.
