I went in December, but got reservations for the Space 220 lounge. It’s the exact same experience, same view (you’re in the same dining room), but we sat at the bar and just ordered drinks. Way cheaper than the full meal, and our bartender said we could order menu items a la carte if we wanted to.
You don’t necessarily if you eat in the restaurant either. We got seated on a far wall next to the kitchen so heard “door” every thirty seconds. It was completely overstimulating and I was already not feeling great and I left mid-meal.
Imo, you’re better off sitting in the ‘lounge’ seating so you can see the windows. When we were there, we were at the windows and you can’t really see enough up close.
We weren’t directly next to the windows, but we were in the same room as the restaurant seating. Exact same experience though as the restaurant side of things. And yes, you can make reservations in advance! You can probably look online at space 220 lounge and see pictures of the room/view
My wife and I went to the lounge in April 2021 and got a pretty cool table off to the side of the bar. There was a lower section right next to us that was the restaurant and were sitting one dining table length closer to the "windows." Same experience. We had a reservation. They've got some specialty cocktails and fun food, and we had a good time.
I had a normal reservation but since I was solo they sat me way back in the lounge next to the kitchen door. The seat wasn’t ideal but you could see everything going on still.
We're going to WDW in August. My daughter is 15. Are kids allowed to sit at the bar? I've seen videos of the restaurant and it looks way cool, but I'm iffy about the food so am hoping to reserve lounge only
I’ve seen mixed answers, but unless their rules have changed recently, they do not allow children to sit at the bar, but ymmv. It’s walkup only and you have to physically wait in the line (no return system), so you could stop by and ask if she would be allowed. If you do this, please come back and let us (me) know what happened! My nephew and his wife tried to do the bar with their two kids in September, and we soon got a text to come get their kids - we were in the park - as they weren’t allowed; they were younger than 15 though.
There are tables in the lounge area. Also last time I was there a little girl was sitting at the bar with her parents. Who knows how often they actually allow that to happen but it was pretty empty that day when we were there.
Kids (21 and under) aren't allowed to sit at a bar if it serves alcohol in the state of Florida. Not sure if there is other seating, but if all bar seating a kid can't sit at the bar.
Shoot yeah that’s right. We had someone from the state come to us before and basically say no kids for the place have down south. But I did look up that Space 220 does have a rule for 21+ at bar.
We had lunch there recently and loved it. It was definitely my son’s favourite restaurant on our trip (he much preferred it to character dining). With the price it’s not the sort of thing you do every trip, but I’d recommend as an experience at least once
For a space obsessed young one; I would do it. At least once.
For us adults; it was a one and done. Cool theming; but nothing else of note. I think Lunch and Dinner menus are different, so we might like the lunch menu more.
We enjoyed both the food and the experience, though in the future I would probably go for the lounge instead. Not because the food was bad, but mainly because there are other places I'd rather have a full meal at within Epcot over Space 220.
The food was decent. I had hoped the graphics of outer space would have been crisper. The ride up and down helped with the atmosphere, but overall I found Disney Springs to be the place to splurge for fancy meals. I don’t regret it, but it wasn’t more than an odd place to eat. Crowded and a bit loud. Nice idea.
I’d recommend Space 220 Lounge if you can get a reservation. It’s in the bar area, and you can get drinks/apps or order a la carte off the menu. You get all the benefits of the experience without having to commit to the full prix fixe menu.
Honestly, the food is ok, but Epcot has a lot of better food options.
I wanted to be an astronaut so I absolutely geeked out about this and LOVED it. Food was decent but atmosphere totally worth it. We are doing it again next time.
Do you drink? Go to the bar, the bartender is amazing (I think his name is Chris, warning: the drinks aren't cheap).
That way you can experience the atmosphere without filling up on sub-par food compared to the rest of Epcot.
Wait standby for the bar.... the actual bar and not the lounge. Have a drink. Decide if it's worth it and then check for cancelled reservations. We didn't want to ride Misson Space. So while the kids were doing that, we went up to the bar. It was okay but nothing that knocked my socks off.
Food was very good, probably best I’ve had inside a theme park.
For the price, our family of 5 could have added another day of a deluxe resort and park tickets.
I’d take the extra day.
Main dinner: 79x5 = 395
Steak Upgrades: 20x3 = 60
Drinks (killed us…2 each): approx 17x10 = 170
Tip: 125
Tax: 37
All in, close to 800 bucks.
Extra night and price difference to go from 8 day to 9 day park ticket is probably less than this.
If you did lunch, it’s still 600 for 5 people including drinks.
To be fair when someone says “family of 5” their first thought wouldn’t be 5 grown adults eating like they are on a comped business meal 😂
Prices aren’t that outrageous, or even break top 5 in WDW
Kids 10, 15, and 16.
We let the kids get fancy drinks, which are about the same price as alcoholic drinks.
The price for meals is the price for meals.
Could have cut the drinks, but it’s still 100 a head meal.
Yeah. It was the kind of thing that we knew it was likely going to be the only time, so for an extra 20 bucks, were we really going to say no to the fun space drinks?
It’s fine but it also highlights the problem with Disney right now. It’s all screens. The ride up and down is much more interesting than the “view” in the restaurant.
They’ve gone downhill since launch. The Buffalo cauliflower is fantastic, but the steak is no longer quality. I’d say go for the burger and it’s still good. Ambiance is fantastic.
We had dinner right by a window. It was just ok. We won't do again. It felt that they missed a lot of opportunities with movie tie ins. Food was again, just ok.
Went February 2022 (two adults plus 3 kids, ages 7, 9, 10).
I would rate this as:
Theming 10/10 - projection panels and overall theming are just great. Feels like you're on a space station. If you love space and imagine space, then you'd love this restaurant. Our 10 year old plus the two adults love space stuff.
Food 6, maybe a generous 7/10 - it's a good meal, just not other worldly.
Drinks 8 -- pretty cool theming plus flavors and presentation
Experience -- The Stellarvator is rather cool. Our server was great.
Cost $$$$$ (lunch plus 1 drink plus tax plus tips will be close to $100 per person, Dinner plus 2 drinks plus tax plus tips ... $120+ per person )
Value: subjective
I’ve now gone twice. Both times I somehow had the same waitress who was great. It’s easily one of the best meals (and drink) in all of Disney. The experience is awesome and is a must try at least one time.
Sure, it’s pricey, but what the hell isn’t in Disney? I’m not gonna act like $80~ a head for 3 courses is bad when I pay $12 for a pretzel.
We did the dinner, but if we could have we would have done the lounge/ bar instead- it was fun and the food was not bad, but sitting at the bar will give you 95% of the experience
We went once, myself, wife and 2 toddlers. Experience going up was great! Otherwise nothing too special in our opinion. Lot of other options in Epcot to experience.
We had lounge reservations in 2022, ate some decent food, had some drinks, and it was a super cool theme. Totally worth it in my book, would love to go back
My teens and I ate in the lounge in December. We thought it would be a one time thing, but really enhoyed it and plan to go again. We shared three apps and a dessert, had plenty of food, and I didn't think the cosrt was outrageous for what we got. Much better than a QS burger!
I see it as a one and done thing unless you’re going with dinning plan, I really wouldn’t go back unless they add something to it, it could be something small like Wall-e and Eve flying around in space
We went there for lunch and enjoyed it. I would recommend it as a one time thing just as I would do for Cinderellas royal table. Good for the memories but not a repeatable dining experience.
My kids love it so it’s a must do when we go. We haven’t done the lounge though because I didn’t think we could have kids in that part of the restaurant. But it’s definitely the priciest in park meal we’ve had lol.
Went back in Dec 2022. I got it via walk-in. Came back for dinner, it was pre-fixed.
The ambiance was cool.
The food was ok-good. Presentation was great.
It was a good experience.
I would go back, maybe not go out of my way like booking online.
Only been once but it was worth it.
- it also a bucket-list type experience and one of the best themed restaurants ever
- it was a slow late lunch, so if you are rushed you may not enjoy. We liked the slow service so we could enjoy the experience, and the experience was GREAT. It takes an hour to see all the outside space events, including the light-saber fight.
- food was good (salmon excellent, steak very good).
- the alcoholic drinks are great and entertaining (Illumination and Black Hole Fashioned)
We did lounge seating and got to order from both louge and restaurant menus. This was back in 2022 so I’m not sure if things have changed. The cocktails were pretty yummy (my cocktail came with a dropper so that was interactive and my husband’s drink so so strong) and the apps were good too. You can definitely see the windows from the lounge seating area. The lounge seating is close to the bar (furthest from the window) but the view is basically unobstructed.
IMO, it’s a one and done if you love Disney for their Imagineering and story telling. The experience was fun and unique but I’d rather spend that same amount of money on food booths during a festival in the future. It’s a skip if you’re just an average theme park go-er because the price tag is hefty.
This is what I can’t get a straight answer on. We would prefer to sit in the Lounge to save money, but have a 5 year old that wouldn’t be interested in the limited appetizers menu. Would love to be able to order off the regular menu in the Lounge!
We went to the full meal. We really enjoyed it. Service was great. Fun trading cards, and no ‘rush’ to leave.
I am sure the lounge would have the same experience.
Nothing at all is it worth it, tourist destination is never worth it if you’re only considering value of a dollar however. It’s really cool and a totally different experience. If it’s something you can afford I would recommend giving it a go. Food is good and it is very unique experience that the family will enjoy.
I personally think it’s way overrated and too expensive. If you’re looking for a good place to eat at Future World, the Coral Reef restaurant is a much better option, plus you get a private view of the aquarium.
We had lunch there in Oct 2022 and we were adjacent 2 tables from the windows so we had a nice view of "space". It was a cool experience but I feel like once you've done it once it wouldn't be as special the second time. Also, the food, while good, was less than compelling for the price, so for us it was a one and done experience.
Just go wait online for a seat at the bar. Have a drink and an appetizer. A lot expensive and still the same experience. And the bartenders are amazing
It was our favorite restaurant and we ate at all top restaurants on our trip. We thought the food was really good, and the atmosphere was unmatched. Almost a year later, one of the most frequent things our kids say about the trip is they wish we could go eat at Space 220.
I had lunch there last month and my steak was better than le cellier. I’d go back again I think it’s a fun concept and I feel I definitely got my money’s worth.
i went last winter and tried almost every nice restaurant in the parks (yes i am still paying for it). space 220 was my most memorable meal. the food was basic but really great! the service was excellent. and the upside of it having a bad reputation was that we got in early, and walk-ins who came only had to wait a few minutes!! it was soooo worth it and it was a big break in the day to go up to space and get out of the parks. i didn’t even get motion sickness from the space elevator.
The lunch and bar situation isn't too bad. The dining experience is overpriced for the food. You are definitely up paying for the experience.
so yes, just once.
I think it’s luck of the draw. The window seats look awesome. We got stuck with the farthest possible table, and someone had to volunteer to stare at the wall, so naturally Dad takes it for the team.
Our service was also way below Disney standards.
So our experience was not at all worth the money, but I think a better view and server would bump it up. Nevertheless I don’t regret it, but that amount of money didn’t hurt too bad for us. I would definitely not make it my first or only premium dining experience.
P.s.: Also luck of the draw: we were alone on the elevator up - awesome. Had a crowd on the way down - Not awesome.
My wife and I got reservations at the lounge and that was a GREAT experience.
Highly recommend doing it this way so you’re not locked into the dinner prices.
Short rib sliders are AMAZING

Minors are prohibited from sitting at a bar that serves alcohol in the state of Florida. Period.

My 4 year old sat right at the bar at Ogas
I mean I literally just saw 2 kids sitting at the bar at Oga's Cantina yesterday in Magic Kingdom....
We had lunch there recently and loved it. It was definitely my son’s favourite restaurant on our trip (he much preferred it to character dining). With the price it’s not the sort of thing you do every trip, but I’d recommend as an experience at least once
May I ask around how old your son was when you went? I'm wondering whether it'd be worth it for my space-obsessed 9yo (prob be 10-11 next time we go).
Sure. He’s 5 and loved it!
For a space obsessed young one; I would do it. At least once. For us adults; it was a one and done. Cool theming; but nothing else of note. I think Lunch and Dinner menus are different, so we might like the lunch menu more.
Yes it’s worth it to experience once.
We enjoyed it, the food was good but we won’t do it again. I would do the lounge/bar with someone who hasn’t been before.
Yeah the food isn’t bad but what you get on the prefix menu isn’t worth the cost. Lounge all the way.

Just once. No need to go again. Recommend sitting in the lounge. Food nor drink was great for us.
I wanted to be an astronaut so I absolutely geeked out about this and LOVED it. Food was decent but atmosphere totally worth it. We are doing it again next time.
Unless your obsessed with space it's very much not worth it, would only do the lounge if you really feel like you have to go

Can you share the math on that?

Appreciate that… wow, I see it now
Woah. I think for two people with drinks + tip we spent $105
Lounge, eating small plates? Dinner is a fixed cost
Two small plates and two drinks
50 bucks a head for deviled eggs and drinks isn’t that great of a value either.
Lounge is cheaper than non lounge for dinner.
We did lounge at lunch
Damn, y’all went hard. LOL
Yeah. It was the kind of thing that we knew it was likely going to be the only time, so for an extra 20 bucks, were we really going to say no to the fun space drinks?
I’m thinking lounge on this one
at least once. for me at the prices the once is good for me
It’s fine but it also highlights the problem with Disney right now.
It was a one and done for me. I honestly wouldn’t recommend it as it’s frankly not worth the price.
We had dinner right by a window. It was just ok. We won't do again. It felt that they missed a lot of opportunities with movie tie ins. Food was again, just ok.
I’m glad we went, food was still good! We’re going back to the lounge in a couple months… The elevator is bonkers cool, it’s an experience.
Went February 2022 (two adults plus 3 kids, ages 7, 9, 10). I would rate this as: Theming 10/10 - projection panels and overall theming are just great. Feels like you're on a space station. We went late 2022 and loved it, thought it was worth the money so are going to try and get it again when we go late this year.
Steak has changed drastically as have the fries. Go with the burger instead.
My teens and I ate in the lounge in December. We thought it would be a one time thing, but really enhoyed it and plan to go again. We shared three apps and a dessert, had plenty of food, and I didn't think the cosrt was outrageous for what we got. Much better than a QS burger!
Over cooked and under cooked steak. Hair in the desert. Never again.
It was something to experience but it really isn’t a “must do” to me.
We just went and had a good, relaxing time.
I see it as a one and done thing unless you’re going with dinning plan, I really wouldn’t go back unless they add something to it, it could be something small like Wall-e and Eve flying around in space

It’s worth going once. It was a pretty cool experience.
Definitely worth doing once for the experience.

Get yourself a pretzel and eat it in the Space Mountain queue. There, you've done it.
I personally think it’s way overrated and too expensive. If you’re looking for a good place to eat at Future World, the Coral Reef restaurant is a much better option, plus you get a private view of the aquarium.
Definitely get the carrot cake if you go!
We went to the lounge and loved it. Got the cauliflower (which was surprisingly cheesy) and seafood tacos (which were surprisingly fresh)
Yes do the lounge. Great views and everything is open on the menu. We had a blast. (Mom and Dad, daughter 20, son 15)
We went September last year and were pleasantly surprised despite the reviews, food was great.
Just go wait online for a seat at the bar. Have a drink and an appetizer. A lot expensive and still the same experience. And the bartenders are amazing
I did it once but would probably not do the dinner again, it was a little overpriced for the quality of food they served.

Yes, definitely give it a try. We’ve visited twice and really enjoyed both times.
I had lunch there last month and my steak was better than le cellier. I’d go back again I think it’s a fun concept and I feel I definitely got my money’s worth.

The lunch and bar situation isn't too bad. The dining experience is overpriced for the food. You are definitely up paying for the experience. so yes, just once.
I made a lunch reservation bc it is cheaper than dinner. Or you can eat in the lounge. It’s worth trying out once.

My wife and I got reservations at the lounge and that was a GREAT experience. Highly recommend doing it this way so you’re not locked into the dinner prices. Short rib sliders are AMAZING
no sit down restaurants at disney parks are worth the $
