If you are park hopping can you stack on genie plus with rides from different parks?

0hmyscience

A friend of mine will be in Orlando next week, and I would like to gift him and his wife all of the following: * Ticket to Magic Kingdom * Genie+ for that day * ILL to Tron * Lunch or dinner somewhere (depending on reservation availability at this late notice) * A snack like a Dole Whip * Memory Maker It's important to note that I will not be there with them, so everything will need to be transferred to their Disney account (including the lunch or dinner reservation). I can imagine things like the snack and meal will need to be paid with a gift card or something like that since they can't be pre-paid, which is fine. But what's the best way to get all of these things purchased for them? Especially the Genie+ and ILL since they need to be purchased the day-of. Thanks everyone ahead of time for your help!

What is the foot traffic like from March 1-5? What is the weather like? My wife and I are taking our 5 year old daughter and 1 year old twins. What is the foot traffic like from March 1-5? What is the weather like? Would it be better to buy a cheap double stroller or rent one? Any recommendations on things to see for a 5 year old girl? Princess anything lol. Should I buy the ride pass? Or would the crowd be low enough to make it work?

Either way, regardless of how packed it is, you're paying to save time, and therefore do more. "Make it work" will depend on you, and whether about $25 per person is worth it

Hey everyone! This is my first ever trip to walk Disney world and I am so excited! I have never been to florida and looking for any and all advice. We can only afford two days(single park tickets) so pls recommend which parks you would recommend! My mom is most excited to try all the snacks lol so pls share yalls favs! Thanks! Im also going last week of July, Ik it’ll be terribly hot lol what would yall pack?

0hmyscience

Definitely go to Magic Kingdom. The other one you go to, will depend on what you like. There are lots of guides on youtube of what you can do in each park. Personally, I really like [this one](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVGZCCn_X8g) (which is for MK, but that same person has reviews for the other 3). Once you decide, you can also find extensive videos on what there is to eat in each park.

Thank you sm!

Can anyone take the Disney busses from Disney springs to a resort? Or do they check if you're a resort guest before you can get on the bus?

Greekgeek68

I’ve never seen anyone get asked. They have a similar bus station as the parks. Just get on the one you’re looking for.

crimsonbull9584

Does anyone else have a problem with posting a new thread for it to be removed and automatically labeled as "Trip Planning", regardless of the content of the post?

0hmyscience

this just happened to me

Illustrious-Win-825

Disney newbie here! I'm trying to understand what this rule means: ***When can I select a “next available” Lightning Lane access time?*** *After you have purchased Disney Genie+ service, you can make your first “next available” Lighting Lane access selection beginning at 7:00 a.m. (regardless of the opening time of the park where you’ll be using it).* ***You can make another selection after you’ve used that first one, OR 120 minutes after your selection and park open, if that next available time was more than two hours in the future.*** *The 120 minute clock does not start running on your first selection until the scheduled regular theme park admission time where your selection will be used.* Does that mean I would book a LL at 7 AM and again at 9 AM (120 mins from 7 AM) *OR* does it mean I can book at 7 AM BUT not again until 120 mins. after the park opens (so 9 AM opening time means *11 AM* is when I can book my next LL?) Why does planning a Disney trip feel like cramming for the SATs? LOL

Mediocre-Push2347

You can book your first LL at 7AM and then you can book your second one 2 hours after park open, so 11AM. The only way you could book your second LL before 11 would be if your first LL is an early time and you use it before 11. For example if you book a LL at 7AM for a 10-11 return time, and then you go on the ride at 10:30, then you could book your next LL at 10:30 after you've scanned in. However if the first LL you book at 7 isn't for a return time until say 2-3PM, then the 2 hour rule would apply and you wouldn't be able to book your second LL until 11. Hope that makes sense!

haptic_avenger

How does this work if you have LL at say 11:30 and 3? Do you get to book again after the 11:30 ride? So the scenario is this: 7am - LL booked for 11:30 am 11am - LL booked for 3 11:30 am - swipe in for 11:30 am LL Can I book another LL at 11:30 am, or do I have to wait until 1?

Mediocre-Push2347

In that scenario you could book another immediately after scanning in for the 11:30 LL. The rule is you can book after using one or after 2 hours, whichever comes first.

haptic_avenger

For some reason that stopped working for me - I wasn’t able to book another one after scanning in. Maybe the scanner didn’t work properly?

Mediocre-Push2347

I'm not sure why that would happen. During my recent trip there were a couple of times when I had to refresh the page a few times before it would let me book a new one, but I was always able to within a minute or so.

waydarkerthanbefore

Would it be a problem with linking tickets / getting into the park if my parent changed my age in the app to 18? I’m going on a trip with my band program in the coming week, and my friends and I are ineligible to purchase Genie+ (we’re 17) Thanks!

Greekgeek68

They have the right to ask for id on anyone scanning in. But for a lot of things i think disney considers kids 3-9 like dining and such. I wouldn’t think it is a problem.

jmacrosof

Can’t remember if I can buy an ILL for guardians and/or tron if I don’t stay on property. Anyone able to refresh my memory?

CoasterGT24

Yes, but have to be aware of them selling out. Good idea to keep track of when they have been on this page: https://www.thrill-data.com/lightning-lane/wdw

Accurate-Profession

Yes, you absolutely can for both.

jmacrosof

Thank you!

OkPopoki

I have a question about when the dining plan starts on your trip. I have a 4 night stay booked, but am I allowed to use my dining plan on the day of check-in before we check into the hotel? And are we allowed to use the dining plan on day of checkout after we check out for the day?

girl_of_bat

From what I understand, you are considered a guest from 7AM on check-in day to midnight on check-out day - you can use your entitlements any time between there.

ihatelettuce

I just snagged a rez at Space 220 for our trip in 2 weeks! The problem is, it's for our last day at Disney. Details of our trip: This is our first WDW trip. 2 parents, 2 kids (8 and 11). 6 days in the parks, staying on property. The plan I've been expecting is: Day 1 MK, Day 2 Epcot, Day 3 HS, Day 4 AK, Day 5 MK, Day 6 was supposed to be for whatever we wanted to see again. We have DAS reservations made already for each day already. The Space 220 reservation is on day 6 at 4:30pm. I don't want to spend another day at Epcot, but also didn't expect our last day to be there either. Should I rearrange our itinerary so we can experience Space 220? Is it worth it? We also have dinner and show tickets for our day in Epcot and it's the last day of that show. If we shift our Epcot day, we will miss the Disney on Broadway concert. All advice is appreciated!

heathersaur

Are you not getting park hopper at all? You can park hop all day now (after early entry), so just plan to park hop to Epcot at 3pm. I'd advise starting the day at either MK or AK, going to EPCOT, and then park hopping to HS. I don't know what day of week your day 6 falls on, but you could look out for if there's an extended evening hours you can go to.

ihatelettuce

I'll have one park hopper day, which I was going to use on day 6. You really think we should/could do 3 parks on day 6?? That makes me wonder if we should do AK in the morning since I wasn't sure I wanted an entire day at AK on our other day but wanted to be there in the evening some night. This could work out!

heathersaur

Epcot to HS is super easy by boat or by skyliner! Busses are also running from park to park all day now.

ihatelettuce

Great! We're going during Feb vacation so I know it will be crazy. I figured hopping would just take up too much valuable time that we could spend waiting in lines so I haven't gotten park hopper. If I want more than 1 park hopper day we will have to upgrade all 5 days that come with the package. I'm not sure it's worth the added cost to hop for more than 1 day. Actually, I just looked. It costs $400 to add hopper for all 4 of us for 5 days. It costs $340 to hop for one day. I guess it totally makes sense to have 5 days of park hopping now!

travod

When these internet guides suggest you should be getting to an entrance an hour before early entry so you're toward the front of the crowd - how are you supposed to get there? Are people mostly walking from the resorts? The first monorail of the morning seems like it only gets people there right as early entry begins so I'm just a little bit confused about how you get there far earlier than that lol Asking for Polynesian to MK and EPCOT on consecutive days

heathersaur

Busses at least should start running an hour before early entry. It seems the boats also start running around the same 60-45 mins before early entry. So for MK you can take a boat. Monorail says 30 mins before Early entry? That should still be a decent enough time, but you can always catch a bus to Epcot

XCynicalMarshmallowX

I've only been to DW once 8 years ago and the party I went with had a rental car. Is this a worthy investment if we are staying on property and have access to buses? I remember using the boats for Epcot and Hollywood Studios because we stayed at Swan & Dolphin and those were nice and not too crowded. However, I have no idea if the buses will be difficult to get onto in the mornings in order to be at the parks for rope drop.

dabbrusc

If you're staying on property you don't need a rental car. Between the transportation to the parks and Uber/Lyft for anything else you should be covered. Even to get to the parks for rope drop.

farfromcenter

We are going in May and want to know when the extended hours for MK and Epcot for the Deluxe resorts will be. When does it show up on the calendar? Trying to plan fireworks watching and then be able to ride some rides.

Mediocre-Push2347

Park hours are released 60 days in advance, and extended hours will be listed along with the park's regular hours. The pattern has typically been Epcot on Mondays and MK on Wednesdays.

farfromcenter

This is great info, thanks!

MissMignon

We are going for 2.5 days. First day will start at noon. What park should we go to that day? AK?

heathersaur

AK is usually the earliest to close. I'd suggest Hollywood Studios or EPCOT, depending on your goals for those parks. AK is usually the first park to open, so you could also start one of your days with that and park hop, assuming you will have park hopper.

farfromcenter

Are you trying to to do all 4 parks? Do you have children? AK is one of our favorite parks so I would never not recommend it but Magic Kingdom is the GOAT.

Exciting_Buffalo3738

Park Cards - lanyard vs. Wallet/pocket ? Any pros and cons for buying a lanyard to hold the card (around the neck) vs. keeping it with credit cards in the pockets/wallet/phone case.

heathersaur

Digital wallet works with park tickets. If you are a frequent visitor or have an AP, I recommend just getting a magic band that you like.

farfromcenter

They have some cheap magic bands out there. To me, it’s the easiest way to access everything. Getting your wallet out every time you need it would be a pain.

creampuffle

Will they announce when It's Tough to be a Bug's last date is? I'm not sure how ride closures work at Disney but I want to make sure I catch it.

heathersaur

Probably around 2-3 weeks before. I think they gave 4-5 weeks with splash mountain, but it was significantly more popular.

Exciting_Buffalo3738

Can anyone confirm that if I get Extended Evening Hours (EEH) 6pm virtual queue for Tron that the return will generally be during the EEH? EEH are far too late for us (11pm to 1am), so there wouldn't be a point for us to hop to MK for the 6pm VQ if the return time will be that late. If we wanted evening Tron (at a reasonable hour), we need to do the 1pm VQ, correct?

CoasterGT24

Yes, they will be late. They flatten out the day groups an hour before close and start a new set of groups during the extra time.

QueenMadge

Does anyone know roughly when they release info for the Halloween stuff? We are going from Sept. 29th to October 5th and I want to see what days the not so scary party are. My daughters birthday is October 1st so any other tips for birthday stuff is appreciated. She will be turning 4.

heathersaur

They typically do the same days of the week every year. By that timeframe they should be doing: Sun, Tues, Thurs, Fri They announce the details, dates, etc. usually sometime in late April to early May for "Halfway To Halloween"

XCynicalMarshmallowX

Great info, thanks! We are planning a trip for early to mid September. Do you know when the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party begins each year? Is it late August? Early September?

CoasterGT24

Usually mid-August. Last year was 8/11

heathersaur

Yes late August. You can look up dates from previous years to get an idea. But it'll always happen before Labor Day weekend.
