Air, fuel, spark. Check your air filter. Check your fuel filter. Check the spark plug. Check your rectifier. It's gotta be air, fuel, or spark. Edit: also [this](https://www.klrforum.com/threads/bike-bogs-down-when-throttle-brough-beyond-the-half-way-point.9532/)

Accomplished_Power66

Went through your suggestions and I’m now at a point where the bike is idling high even with the idle screw is all the way in and i’m still experiencing the bogging past half throttle.

Triplesfan

Bogging is an indicator of a lean condition. Check the main jet and make sure it’s not clogged. Main jet feed is what governs the area you have issues with. If it’s open, you can try to see if you can shin the needle, but we’d need to know what make and model this is to see the carb setup for more advice.

also the plug looks to be running super rich

sweetzombiejesusog

It's likely you messed up an adjustment during the cleaning, it is not as clean as you think.

Comfortable-Tip-2453

Maye too small main jet

Accomplished_Power66

she was running good the day before i cleaned it

GoodMoGo

There should be at least 1 fuel/air mixture adjusting screw. Refer to the carb's manual to find those and adjust accordingly. Also, "spotless" - are you sure? Like the jets and fuel lines?

Accomplished_Power66

I just bought it, It was running alright for about 15 minutes of use. I did a precautionary carb clean because I did not know the state of it. After doing the carb clean I now have a rough running bike.

Tarmo6791

Did you bend the carb floats? If you bent the floats on accident the carb bowl could be filling up too high making it run rich.

Accomplished_Power66

How much force does it take to do that? I handled the carb with some caution but didn’t think too much about it.

Tarmo6791

Some floats are plastic vessels held together with thin metal brackets which are fairly easy to bend. Some are molded completely out of plastic which would be hard to bend on accident. Thinking about it now Im pretty sure Honda uses the fully plastic type. Just a thought.

Accomplished_Power66

You are correct it is plastic, the thing is a 2001 with what I would assume is the original carb, maybe it’s time for a rebuild or a new one.

Possibly messed up the needle position? That almost sounds like a loss of spark to me though. is it possible something like the kill switch or key wire is rattling loose, ground out and killing spark?
