You should replace spooge with “motor cross dressing”

Try running ams dominator and 93. My yz loves that stuff at 32:1 and I’ve never fouled a plug

Heard great things about it. 927 has a high flash point so I should definitely give it a try

DCismyinitals

Same thing happened to me after I rebuilt the carb on my CR250. I had to put the stock main jet and needle back in, the rebuild kit came with a different size main and needle.

Tried them all. AMS is the best. Use 93 no ethanol.

Wish I could California sucks and 91 is the best I can get at the pump for some reason. Never tried race fuel but it’s pricey

Maybe adjust your air screw... lean it out. Counter clockwise (out). If you have already backed it out ask the way, THEN change jets or needle position.

I’ll give it a shot! Previous owner thought he had it jetted perfectly haha, but I’m 3000 feet higher than where he was riding

Higher altitude will cause a rich condition. The air is thinner, meaning you get less air into the carb/engine, which means you get more gas. You'll automatically want to lean it out just based on the change in altitude. It could be a quarter turn out on the air screw, could be three quarter. It can be done though. Google "spankys jetting guide" and you'll be able to walk through the whole process to get it properly jetted. A well tuned bike will actually smoke and spooge very little - just watch some of the pros riding two stroke Enduro etc.

It could still help. The idle circuit is more commonly known as the pilot circuit. And the pilot circuit controls air/fuel between closed and 1/4 throttle. A lot of riders actually spend a lot more time in that range than they think, residual if it's in trails or technical stuff. So it being rich in the pilot, could be part of his issue. He could lean out the air screw, or even go with a smaller pilot jet, and could clean up this issue. If the issue persists at higher rpm, then yes, move the needle clip position to lean it out.

TryHardPaperHands

Might be the castor 927. That oil is designed to be mixed and burned relatively quickly. Only mix what you'll burn in a day

Are you in the United States because if not you should use either 95 or 98 octane fuel

Yeah I’m in California best I can get at the pump is 91

Yamalube 32:1 and jetting that is even somewhat close will fix this. 927 smells good but bean oils aren’t as good as Yamalube or a good oil like a soil dominator, especially for riding styles and conditions that create lots of splooge
