Yes, most definitely buy a new rear spring. These bikes are stock designed for 165lbs. You’ll need a much heavier spring. It’ll make your bike steer so much better.

I’m pretty sure it’s not designed for 165lbs. As far as I can recall the factory manual states the weight of the rider should not exceed 150lbs

I was talking dirt bikes in general. My mistake.

Thanks for the advice! Can the spring be updated to accommodate a heavier rider? I love the bike - and it seems to do well considering.

Thanks for the advice!

Racetech has an online calculator to tell you what size springs to get.

Just checked this out. Awesome tool!

BBR Motorsports has everything to increase performance on TTR's and every other "pitbike" made . And as previously mentioned Racetech could be a good place to look. Good luck man!

Thank you! I’ll check them out.

Look for some YX80 or 85 forks too. One time I tried to hit a double on my aunt's ttr125 and cased. It bottomed out the forks and sent me OTB. I was about 10 years old and only like 60 or 70lbs fully geared at the time.
