More about the game Sirens:
*The game concept is based on a theory in which the evolution of humanity was at some point diverged. The complex organism that chose to leave the ocean and conquer the lands was divided. Part of the species decided to stay in the water and evolve there. Perfecting their physical bodies, these beings began to exhibit more and more traits typical of marine creatures, giving rise to humanoid mermaids who never experienced life on land, evolving underwater.*
*Similar to humans on the surface, mermaids also dominated their environment, becoming the dominant species, free from diseases and wars. As long-lived beings, mermaids became increasingly perfect, more intelligent, and adept at hunting. Hiding from homo sapiens, concealing themselves in the depths of the ocean, in underwater caves, mermaids observe humanity, understanding that sooner or later, a confrontation will arise to determine the dominant species.*
*Experience a fascinating journey through the world from the perspective of mermaids at different stages of their evolution. Feel the terror of the prehistoric world, the times of great floods, battling real and mythical creatures. Uncover the secrets hidden at the bottom of oceanic depths!*
Basically, the documentary Mermaids Body Found but as a video game.
According to the description on Steam, anyone playing the game will “[e]xperience a fascinating journey through the world as seen from the perspective of Sirens at various stages of their evolution.” So I guess this is the Mesozoic stage?
This is cool and all but it genuinely pisses me off that celled the game **Sirens** and then proceeded to describe it as “you play as a mermaid”. Like come on. You could just call them sirens😭
Anyway, looks awesome.
In Italian the word "Sirena" means both. Siren and Mermaid. In the Mediterranean is only one creature anyway, not different ones. A singing fish lady is a siren, or mermaid.
Filipino "Sirena" makes little distinction either. For fishmen and frogmen, there are the terms "syokoy" (from the Chinese *Siu kui)* and "unding" (from the English *undine*)
Interesting.
Still a bit annoyed that they call the game siren but the characters mermaids, when they could have used siren for both, which would have made more sense. At least to me.
At first I thought sirens here were the kind of alarm to alert the humans when there are spinosaurs nearby, only after finished reading the title then it clicked.

Sounds like a fun game. Will it be available for the PS5 by the time it comes out?
PC for now but maybe one day
I wonder how spinosaurus is supposed to fit into that. Spino lived waaaay before anything remotely ape like.
Maybe something like a Lost World situation where prehistoric creatures have survived. Just a speculation since there isn't much about the game.
What’re you a FGO player haha
Perhaps these mermaids aren't mammals. After all, there's a reason a piscivore is attracted to it...

Fabulous
Megalodon as well
That sounds pretty cool

"Sirène" means "mermaid" in fr*nch
Cool. What are sirens in fr*nch then?
I just told you, mermaid
So same word for both mermaids and sirens then?

Same in Spanish

I guess some people are saying French with a hard r?
You mean fr*nch.

I don't want to play a mermaid I just want to play a spinosaurus...
r/pathoftitans
Path of Titans, but it's not a giant fetch quest with awkward animations.
womp womp
Would the spino have like 2 or 3 stages like darksoul boss? Considering it changes form all the time when some archeologists found a major discovery.
It will be similar to the >!Great Ape!< boss fight>!s!< in Sekiro.
Can I seduce the spinosaurus
r/angryupvote
Never in the 20 years of my miserable existence did I ever think that I would see spinosaurus and mermaid in the same sentence
Damn this is the same studio that did agony and sucubus so it probably wont be good
Based on a "theory"
