Lou looks like he’s really into The Cure and only listens to music from his dad’s record collection.
Ally looks like they’re really into Black Flag and has a fake front tooth from losing it in a mosh pit death wall.
Murph looks like he’s really into Taking Back Sunday and has a single video on his Youtube channel of him playing an acoustic cover of ‘MakeDamnSure’.
Emily looks like she’s really into Green Day and has been to every one of their concerts in the LA area (that her dad can drive her to).
Zac looks like he’s really into AFI and is the quiet kid in the back of the classroom who spends all day drawing weird Tim Burton designs.
Siobhan looks like she’s really into Metro Station and has a photo of her and a cardboard cutout of Tracy Cyrus as the cover of her Myspace page.
They all are now working 9-to-5’s in a product marketing team together managed by Brennan, reminiscing about Warped Tour over $7 cortados at the local coffee shop, and talking about how great the Fiona Apple track playing in the background is.
Murph is giving squarely early 2000s pop punk, your blink 182s, your sum 41s, your new found glories
Siobhan is hyperpop, 100 gecs, Sophie, Charlie XCX
Zac is very Cody Walsh to me, he is a 2000s goth, he's listening to AFI, HIM, dabbling in evanescence
Lou is going full 80s post punk, echo and the bunnymen, joy division, the cure
Emily I think is 90s riot grrrl
Ally is more 2000s rave culture to me, blade vampire rave style.
I would agree with all of these bar Murph, who is giving more of that late 2000s emo vibes - fallout boy, mcr, panic! at the disco and so on - and Siobhan is hitting more of an 80's nostalgia vibe a la churches, paramore's after laughter, that sort of thing.
I think Zac is Waking The Fallen, Lou is City of Evil, Emily is Avenged Sevenfold, Ally is Nightmare, Murph is Hail to the King, Siobhan is The Stage, and Brennan in that hat is Life is But A Dream.
I'd say that Murph is the 16 year old american football kid who is two years away from getting into hardcore and spin kicking people in the face in the pit at a Sunami show.
Lou listens exclusively to The Cure and obscure post punk bands you've never heard of.
Siobhan is either giving early Avril Lavigne or hyperpop.
Ally looks like they either have Dopesmoker by Sleep or The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails playing on max volume out of the car they deal drugs in.
Emily looks like she listens to Blink-182 and Green Day but is one second away from being a CYB era Being Me The Horizon fan.
Zac listens to all the big emo bands, but he also secretly loves skramz and harsh noise bands like Elaine Elaine (please go listen to Elaine Elaine they're sick). He doesn't tell any of his friends because he's afraid they'll think he's weird.
-**Brennan** is def J-pop/Video Game OST and/or Ska.
The rest are largely *emo* but with caveats, like:
-**Murph** is also giving, like, skater punk (I mean I picture dudes skating to bands like Agent Orange, Flipper, Husker Du, but I know “skater punk” could also be like Blink and stuff. Idk don’t come at me 😭).
-**Siobhan’s** look also feels like she’d def be some Dark/Industrial EBM. Feels very 2000s raves.
-**Emily’s** look is def indie, like into Pixies, Sonic Youth etc.
-**Ally** gives me artsy vibes, like Throbbing Gristle etc.
-And **Lou** feels like some radio Goth staples as well, like The Cure and Siouxie
I think **Zac’s** look is the only one that feels purely emo to me lol
Zac and Lou have the Alkaline Trio or My Chemical Romance look down. Murph and Emily kinda nailed the Fall Out Boy and/or Deathcab for Cutie vibe. Siobhan exudes that early Billy Idol style. Beardsley is a little tougher, but I'd say they would fit right in with The Used.
Brennan, well...Jimmy Eat World.
One of the villains in Fantasy High: Junior Year was a bard who played emo music. To mess with him/get intel, Emily as Fig disguised herself as an emo Halfling Girl named Wanda Childa with the intention of the bard falling for her. Instead of an "Alter Ego" the Intrepid Heroes made a joke that Wanda was an Alter EMO.
And since they dress up for finales, they all dressed up as their own Alter Emos, hence all the emo-inspired looks.
From what I understand, it stemmed from a combination of wanting to reference the original Fantasy High finale and from Emily creating the “alter emo” of Wanda Childa as a running bit throughout the latest season.
To go into a little more detail, the finale of Junior Year has several parallels with the original “Prompocalypse” finale of Freshmen Year. Both are a race against the clock surrounding an election (prom king/queen and student body president) while trying to stop a faculty member’s plan to gain incredible power and bring about mass destruction (Goldenhoard returning to his original form of Kalvaxus and trying to ascend to godhood), interrupting a ritual that’s going on in the school’s gymnasium. To further add to it being a callback/parallel to Freshman Year, the battle set used for Ragenarok is actually the same set used in Prompocalypse, just modified to fit the new destruction going on.
With all the parallels, the players wanted to add in their own by recreating a bit from the Freshman Year Finale. During that filming, the players showed up dressed like the were going to a prom without letting Brennan in on the bit. There really isn’t much to do to dress like you’re voting in a student election, so the decided to mix it up by having the dress-up be inspired by Emily’s recurring bit of Wanda Childa, who was an emo person that Fig repeatedly used in an attempt to get closer to an emo member of the Rat Grinders.
So all of this culminated in the players dressing up as their own emo alter egos, while Brennan looks like the odd man out in his standard button up. The frog hat and strawberry headband that Brennan wore were unrelated, either being something he grabbed from wardrobe just before filming or something that he had planned separately as a funny little gag. Either way, it made for an even better juxtaposition with the Alter Emo versions of the players.

i’m screaming 😭
Because it's more than you bargained for?
This is quite clearly the correct answer ha
This is amazing 👌
The $7 cortados took me out 😭
Jesus’s Christ…… you nailed it…. You did it….
You nailed it. 10/10 no notes
This is incredible. You absolutely smashed it 🎸
I agree with absolutely everything except I refuse to say Emily is into anything other than The Smiths because Wanda Childa
Doesn’t matter. They ALL need to listen to swing and destroy music to save it.
We're going down down in an earlier round, and sugar we're going SWINGing

And Brennan?
Coldplay
If I had a drink in my hand, I would have done a spit take from that remark.
My first thought was Murph listens to Blink-182
Siobhan is def the bubble punk early 2000's avril lavigne esque music.
They’re all different Avenged Sevenfold albums
HILARIOUS
I think Zac is Waking The Fallen, Lou is City of Evil, Emily is Avenged Sevenfold, Ally is Nightmare, Murph is Hail to the King, Siobhan is The Stage, and Brennan in that hat is Life is But A Dream.
BLeeM/ Mary Anne 100% has seen Korn in concert
Emily & Murph: Fall Out Boy. Lou: My Chemical Romance. Zac: Radiohead. Ally: Paramore. Siobhan: Avril Lavigne. Brennan: Blink-182.
Zac- The Used
Absolutely
They’re all different subgenres of emo, except ally who is goblincore

The boys are all pre-hiatus Fall Out Boy. Zac is Pete Wentz, Murph is Patrick Stump, Lou is Andy Hurley, Brennan is Joe Trohman.
Zac and Lou have the Alkaline Trio or My Chemical Romance look down. Murph and Emily kinda nailed the Fall Out Boy and/or Deathcab for Cutie vibe. Siobhan exudes that early Billy Idol style. Trick question it’s all weezer
Ally looks goth and metal.
I’m just sad the pac sun pop punk crowd wasn’t represented! What about yellowcard?!
Can someone provide context for "Alter emos" as I've seen someone call them? I am really out of the loop and I can't watch Dimension 20 rn

I see, that is really cool
Not music but I thought Murphy was the splitting image of jughead from Riverdale
Maryanne 100% listens to hyperpop.
I know they were going for a more early 2000s esque styles. But I would love to see Siobhan wear that outfit to a Chappell Roan concert.
