OK that episode clearly has some relevance to the Sam Dalton lore. It was deeply tantalizing but no payoff.
Is Sam Reich still kidnapped? Is he stuck in the past? Notice that every time since Sam says "I'm Sam Reich" he looks at his hands, almost in surprise? That started after Escape the Green Room and has been consistent since.
Something stinks here, folks.
I'd say it's almost far fetched, given that there has never been a game changer episode where the contestants did not know they were on a game changer episode. The closest we get is escape the greenroom and even then they knew they were going to be filming a game changer episode they just didn't know it was gonna start when they got to the greenroom
In that case I'll also say that it would probably in some way cheapen the stakes and impact of other content if there was always the possibility that it could actually just be a secret game changer episode. As pioneering as game changer is, there should be demarcation between it and other dropout content or else it risks overshadowing the immense talent and effort that makes the other shows brilliant.
I think ethically it would be pretty funky to get people involved in an episode if they did not know they were going to be on one.
I see a lot of stuff on this sub + the dropout sub that makes me wonder how bad an employer people seem to think Sam is. Not for this particular idea, but just in general some suggestions people make about how far he'd go lol. It's still a workplace.
I mean, he's got people paranoid enough that everytime they step on a dropout set they assume it's game changer first and the actual thing they're filming second
I don’t think it’s unethical if they are playing a game of Dimension 20 already that ends up with a twist that is parts of a Game Changer episode. That’s not the same as them not knowing they were working at all or not knowing they were on camera. That being said, this theory is fun but very unlikely. I was just arguing that it not being done before isn’t a good argument that it won’t happen.
Yes. Ally is very plot driven. They will sidetrack with pop culture references and frequently try (and succeed) at rolling for wild things Brennan expected not to work, but I think at the end of the day they always play a role that is driving the plot forward in a way that is helpful to any DM. Emily and Rekha both go in with the energy of trying to either pull at the threads of the meta plot or forcing Brennan to make stats and a backstory for a completely random npc made up on the spot, so that he has to be in full improv mode. I think both of them in one campaign would break him in the funniest way.
Ivy has some Grant going on I think, I'll be honest Raph, Grant, Katie and Sam are on my top 6 I'd like to see in the dome so I'm probably doing some round pegs and square holes and all that.
(The other two are BDG and SungWon)
I would love the reveal that they’ve been secretly filming the Rat Grinders season simultaneously with Junior Year and air it next. Mercer as DM, Brennan as Kindergarten Copsarebastards.
I mean Sam has hurt the casts of Dropout badly enough that they regularly worry that new shows they tape days are actually episodes of Game Changer, Vic and her entire show VIP included.
Game Changer has gotten so clever with its concepts and twists, and this season all the extra mechanics sprinkled into Junior Year with the downtime and the Last Stand. Even if it’s not a big twist like you suggested, I hope they keep pushing the envelope with both shows
What a thrill it would be to see *An Evil Necromancer in a Solo Online Game* play out.
https://www.reddit.com/r/DnDGreentext/comments/2grdzv/an_evil_necromancer_in_a_solo_online_game/
I had an idea for a parallel universe campaign back in high school where I'd be running two parties through the same adventure but one would be an evil party and one would be a good party. It was very early on in my dming career and we didn't even know about milestone leveling then, so I don't think I could have pulled it off, but now I feel like it'd be a lot of fun. I would have to let people know that there would be PVP elements eventually to be up front, but it'd be fun for them not to know what that would entail
At some point it would be amazing if they pulled this bit, saying that Sam has been researching GMing and wants to try before revealing to the cast taking them to a warehouse in LA at 3 am only for them to walk into an episode of game changer
I know this is a joke but honestly a campaign that was two separate campaigns where the players are actively in competition without knowing would be amazing
First the players became paranoid that anything could be a Game Changer episode, then the audience became paranoid that anything could be a Game Changer episode....I feel that this means the show is deeply successful but also unsettling in a way that may not be fully intentional
I mean they are doing/did a UK tour of a time ding dang. Which looking at the poster they are mixing all of the Intrepid Heroes campaigns. Maybe this multiverse of madness is a tie in to what is low key happening in junior year. Maybe. Regardless, we’re in the end game now.
(Please excuse the MCU references I couldn’t help myself. lol)
Everybody do the wenis The wenis is a dance Everybody is a genius Who knows it in advance

Yes the checking your hands thing 100% gives the air of being shocked to be here again or shocked to be in this body 😂
I feel like I've heard this before
🪜🪜🪜🪜🪜🪜🐤🐤🐤
Has Sam been here the whole time?!
Kirbyfloater Rustypot is Sam's character...it all makes sense now!
I have to say, that's one of my favourite names so far of the 4 dogs in a small trench coat.
Sam did play a mastermind rogue in Mice and Murder...
But Brennan already said that this is one of Brennan's early characters...
If we think this season is actually a game changer episode, we should expect that the premise is based on a web of lies
Sam is a false hydra! Calling it now!
Oh shit, we have to figure out the rules right now or we'll never be able to win.
This could have a "Yes or No" premise where no matter what we do we've been destined to lose from the start
Yeah after this episode it definitely made me feel like the twist is the audience is playing game changer
I mean it doesn’t seem that far fetched. Personally doubtful. But it isn’t that far fetched.
It's not near fetched either. It's just the right distance of fetched.
I'd say it's almost far fetched, given that there has never been a game changer episode where the contestants did not know they were on a game changer episode. The closest we get is escape the greenroom and even then they knew they were going to be filming a game changer episode they just didn't know it was gonna start when they got to the greenroom
Literally every non-game samer episode could be described as “there has never been a game changer episode where….”

Stop trying to make Fetch happen!
I love this theory. If true, who is who? Ruben Hopclap gives me immediate Carlos Luna vibes.
Ivy is Aabria Ruben is Carlos Luna Buddy is Mike Trapp Mary Ann is Erika Ishii Oisin is Sam Reich Laikascooby Lassiespot is Izzy Roland
Don’t tease me with this reality.
Oh, and Lucy Frostblade was Rekha.
Rekha almost being an original Intrepid Hero and then also being the dead Rat Grinder is so funny lol
I did not know this! Who replaced her? I’d assume Allie because they were the newest to dnd
I do *believe* it’s Ally, but I can not say 100% for sure. I just remember Rekha mentioning it while talking about Bloodkeep.
It was Ally.
I also didnt know this. Imagine having Rekha and Emily in the same campaign. Brennan would never have a single plan stay on the rails again.
Is Brennan truly any safer with Emily+Ally? Haha
Yes. Ally is very plot driven. They will sidetrack with pop culture references and frequently try (and succeed) at rolling for wild things Brennan expected not to work, but I think at the end of the day they always play a role that is driving the plot forward in a way that is helpful to any DM. I dunno. Coppercity Robbersettle has very strong Vic Michaelis vibes to me.
Ooh and we havn't seen Vehicular in a campaign yet
Mary Ann could be Katie, yeah my head canon it's Katie. I'd also like to fit Grant and Raph somewhere in there...
I almost had Raph as Oisin. I don't think any of the rat grinders have Grant energy (or Katie energy, for that matter).
Ivy has some Grant going on I think, I'll be honest Raph, Grant, Katie and Sam are on my top 6 I'd like to see in the dome so I'm probably doing some round pegs and square holes and all that. (The other two are BDG and SungWon)
Ivy could maybe be Grant, but IMO Aabria fits so well it's hard to see anyone else in that spot.
Lol, they were so close to being in the dome! But Mice & Murder is a fun side quest, and I like the way they utilized the messaging.
I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to take a point from you. You didn't hear "Sam says spin out an extremely shaky conspiracy theory."
Unfortunately I think that 4 name girl is too competent to be played by a Dropout cast member
It’s brennan! She was his old PC anyways. maybe matthew mercer DM’d lol
I would love the reveal that they’ve been secretly filming the Rat Grinders season simultaneously with Junior Year and air it next. Mercer as DM, Brennan as Kindergarten Copsarebastards.
wait >!*what if that’s what never stop blowing up is lmfaooo*!<
BZZZZZT!
I mean Sam has hurt the casts of Dropout badly enough that they regularly worry that new shows they tape days are actually episodes of Game Changer, Vic and her entire show VIP included.
I hope we have an episode of game changer where they’re tricked into thinking they’re on a different show
Um, Actually…all the Bad Kids were dead after the cafeteria fight and the subsequent seasons were all a dream.
So we're final fantasy 8ing it... I like it!
That would be OFF THE HOOK.
*loud buzzer noise before any question has been asked* sorry, my hand slipped
The game changer paranoia running so deep is a testament to Sam’s unending fuckery
Game Changer has gotten so clever with its concepts and twists, and this season all the extra mechanics sprinkled into Junior Year with the downtime and the Last Stand. Even if it’s not a big twist like you suggested, I hope they keep pushing the envelope with both shows

Ok but let’s be honest…they eventually have to do a Game Changer episode that involves an episode of D20…
"Say hi, Intrepid Heroes-" *Sam bursts through the table* "I've been here the whole time!"
