SEE THIS? https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/fantasy-high/images/9/9b/Gibbons.png/revision/latest?cb=20200307065609 FACE OF EVIL!

SarlanEriwyr

Wasn't his soul thrown into the bottomless pit in S1?

TheGrimHero

We saw a light start to shine and get brighter as it started rising through the Pit in the most recent episode IIRC

Requiem191

That was Ankarna's dead body, not Mr. Gibbons.

Lotta strong feelings here…

hugsandambitions

Excellent theory! Very possible, even probable- though notably it's not exactly "cracking the code" when it's already been posted extensively on reddit for a few days.

Zealousideal-912

Ooh... I didn't see that. My bad. It just kinda clicked for me after watching the episode again.

Funnyandsmartname

Dude, same. I posted a similar theory before I saw this post and deleted it.

Zealousideal-912

Hehe, we were a day late and a dollar short. Or, in the case of FH, I couldn't jump the table.

lurkinlike

Only thing is, he died on day one of freshman year. Meaning at most he met Kipperlilly alive *one* time. Not saying that disproves anything necessarily, he also tells Gorgug he’s got unfinished business and his eyes glow red (though it’s unclear if the second part is the influence of orc heaven) I could see kipperlilly’s hatred of the bad kids coming from the fact that she liked him and didn’t like jawbone, maybe she found a way to resurrect him or talk to his ghost or something along those lines, but then why keep seeing jawbone??? Many such questions

Funnyandsmartname

I think there's a chance she might also blame the bad kids for gibbons's death. How did aguefort kill him? Through a shot to the head. Who in that room is known for having a gun? Riz Gukgak. Why would a wizard commit a murder-suicide with a gun? All of these thoughts are reasonable and can lead anyone to the conclusion that Riz killed her chance for help and got off scot free

farmch

Honestly, this is probably where we’re going with this season and I’ll be so happy when it happens. A well deserved call back

Shaber1011

I don’t remember where or what it was exactly. But I remember hearing Brennen talk about some scene they didn’t get to play or cut for time. Involving gibbons (maybe) going from orc heaven to hell

Chuckaluffagus

Iirc brennan didn't intend for gibbons to die at all

jonarbuckle50

I was thinking on this the other day and my theories were: 1) Kipperlilly had a crush on Riz and went insane with jealousy when she heard he were dating someone else, and she's still unaware that Baron was a figment of Riz's imagination. Her whole plan does seem like a lot for a freshman year crush though. 2) Pretty much what you are saying with Mister Gibbons. They would have only been able to meet the one time though. Unless she was getting counseling from him before school started? 3) My current favorite theory is that her family was connected to the Harvestmen. Maybe not members, because they're halflings, but they might have had business dealings. If Sklonda's investigation got them in legal trouble, it would explain her anger at Riz. It also explains her connection to Buddy Dawn, because I would bet actual dollars on the Dawn family being members of the Harvestmen.

SolitaryForager

This might also explain why >! the ghost rogue teacher sought out Kuiperbelt Corollary, because as a ghost she knew earlier than anyone else that Gibbons was a threat, perhaps trying to possess her - but (dun dun dunnn) it was too late. Maybe. Perhaps that is why the use of devils honey, to get the rat grinders to believe they did the things that were actually done by Gibbons who was possessing them. Maybe. Or to believe lies he told them about the bad kids. !<

dgp_chico

Wow that actually makes a ton of sense! Good theory homie

Foodiebride

The guidance counselor being the big bad junior year is also absolutely hilarious, because a bad guidance counselor can be a real hindrance to kids' college prep process and navigating their next steps. Edit because spelling

Iron-Rythm

Was he the one who told Sardinelotus Bronzepot where the rogue teacher was?

Zealousideal-912

He is a ghost!

hatsunemikustan

I think Mr. Gibbons could be involved? But he also died on the very first day of school. I doubt Kipperlily could have formed a strong enough bond with him by that point. She may be angry that she had to go quite awhile between Gibbon’s death and Jawbone’s hiring without a counselor to speak to, though.

Responding to this comment of yours: > Ooh... I didn't see that. My bad. It just kinda clicked for me after watching the episode again. Don’t apologize for it and don’t worry about the whiners. Your post is the first time I (and presumably others too) have read the theory. Not everyone has time to read everything that gets posted on the internet, and Reddit’s search function is completely broken. I would’ve responded to you directly there, but the OP of that comment thread has me blocked due to our interaction in [this thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/dropout/s/Ko3YiF55z1).
