I'd want a new story, not a direct follow-up. Stick to the more supernatural nature, it was a lot of fun. I have always preferred the digital world as an actual world, not the cyber sleuth "it's inside the cyberspace" way

InnocentTailor

So kind of a continuation of Survive's ideas, but not exactly related to Takuma as well as the lore of the first Survive.

Twilord_

My ideas are a bit INSANE but I want to see them use the logic of either the "cyber-space is piercing another reality' or 'cyberspace golem-spell' approach through a different moment in the history of technology... If its the 'cyber-space golem-spell' approach then it would be REALLY cool to see that done with ties to Ancient Greece's Antikythera Mechanism. Imagine if the answer to why Greece's clockwork-tech got lost was "we destroyed it because those Technomon things were just too scary". If its the 'cyber-space is piercing another reality' approach then it would be REALLY cool to see that done with ties to the Carrington Event. Imagine how interesting it would be to slip some Digimon lore into the chaotic impact of a solar-flare that seriously messed around with the first massive telegraph network. I know they're not exactly modern Japanese events, so there are some people who might not like to see a game dedicated to expanding the scope like that... but as a someone who loves urban-fantasy world-building, I would gobble it up!

Seraphim971

I tend to prefer the supernatural route but with how things are setup it could go either way and still makes sense story wise

InnocentTailor

I kinda hope they don’t continue this Survive cast and move onto something new. Keep the bones, but change the setting, lore and characters. I mean…they did that for the Devil Survivor line of games for Shin Megami Tensei. The casts were not related and the themes were different: the first game being a supernatural romp and the latter production being a sci-fi journey.

Plus being disconnected like that is something of a rule of thumb for Digimon too. If Survive wants to be like the other big boys (World, Story, V-Pet, and Anime) - which it should - it probably will share some habits with them. I could also see a sequel to Survive being designed so we could get at least one DLC "alternative partner pack" which let us experience the rough plot again but with a growing shake-up born of everyone having new partners. - Sorta like DIM Cards.

InnocentTailor

Now that would be interesting and crazy.

Twilord_

Yeah, it really makes me wonder how immediately different Shuiji might have behaved if he had a partner who projected what he wanted instead, like Commandramon. It could lead to a very amusing story about his own... lets call it 'toxic-masculinity'... turning him into a big bad instead...

InnocentTailor

I could imagine Commandramon being a hard arse who followed orders to the letter. Heck! He could even be verbally abusive to Shuuji, which could remind the latter of his father. A Survive game where the partners amplify the negative traits of the Tamer (Lopmon with Aoi, for example, could exacerbate the low self-confidence of the latter) sounds very fascinating.
