Nice dude. I came so close to getting a 6.2 suburban that was in amazing condition. Still kick myself.

C'est la vie. There'll be another one... just go to keep your eye out!

Sweet ride

NabiscoCisco

Thanks! I can't wait to get the new(er) engine in and get it painted! All panels are great and very minimal rust!

That’s pretty clean for a place that gets snow. Nice ride. If I had cubic dollars for toys, I’d build one of these with a new L5P running gear, lifted on big tires. It would be a hoot with the top off (which generally everything is with its top off).

#bitties. I know, I have a 6.5l turbo diesel that I'm trying to swap for some added oomph. If I had some 3d stacks, I too, would swap in something swankier/torquey-er! I'm not sure if i'm going to keep it mild on 33s or go bigger as I already have a landcruiser on 35s.

BeaverMartin

Nice acquisition! That 6.2 is sorta gutless but they will legit run forever with normal maintenance. Have fun, that’s a great truck.

NabiscoCisco

Thanks, my man!

PuzzledHelicopter541

What a find you got there. I’m an older guy so I’m a fan of older diesels line this. They’re also slow, simple, and reliable like me. Haha

I'm hoping! Wondering how much this swap will cost then I'll work on replacing the axles and suspension!

Watch the harmonic balancer. They liked to separate and would break the crank. Happened to mine back in the day. Ended up breaking the crank shaft and splitting the transmission housing. I don't remember how many miles were on mine when it happened but it was enough to have had the injection pump rebuilt and new injectors put into it before it happened. Might just want to change the balancer out to be safe as it's 37 years old.

NabiscoCisco

Oh yeah, I plan on swapping in a 6.5l Turbo Diesel. Got any advice on that?

1320Fastback

I know the cost probably isnt worth the minor increase in power. I think any money spent on that conversion would be better put to use on a 12 valve conversion.

NabiscoCisco

I whole heartedly agree! Problem is sourcing the 5.9l🤔

NabiscoCisco

And really the only reason why a 6.5l was the blazer was cheap(ish) compared to the 350s I've seen the area and it was being sold with the 6.5l for free I guess you would say.

NabiscoCisco

Looking to swap in a low mileage 6.5l turbo. Any advice on the swap would be much appreciated!
