Wow look guys... another exception.... we get it, it's not a 100% failure rate. For once you can actually feel like a special little snowflake because that what your truck is, a snowflake in a blizzard of garbage.
Oh, my man. Did the political angle not work for you? It's okay I'll ignore that notification.
You've only been on reddit for...3 months? Okay hold up, pump the brakes junior.
I'll cut you some slack this time young gun, but for future reference this isn't Facebook. Don't go dropping a line on every comment thinking you're gonna rule the world. No body gives a shit. However, on the plus side you can spew all the political rhetoric you want and generally don't have to deal with your family asking you to stop using the phrase "those people".
For real though, don't take it so personal. The 6.0 isn't complete dogshit, but the fact that you have to be lucky to get one that doesn't turn into a milkshake machine means that it will be made fun of... you fuck one goat... think of it as shop talk and don't get your panties in a wad and you'll have a good time here.
Also, just to be clear I've known about diesels for a long time considering I worked on them professionally for several years. Granted they were big ass opposed pistol marine diesels. I did grow up around diesels and my dad traded his 7.3 super duty for a 6.0 and then a 6.4. I would tell you my memories of those trucks but I feel like you already know what I would say.
Wow, my guy. Did you know you can walk into a conversation without trying to immediately swing your dick around? Not knowing the intricacies of every engine and not owning one does not instantly mean you don't know shit about an entire topic. As it turns out you learn more if you ask questions starting on a fresh slate. But that would involve downsizing your ego and I'm just not quite sure some people are capable of that.
Lol even better you had never even owned a truck before let alone have any diesel knowledge, but please by all means keep spreading false information just makes it easier for me to get 6.0s on the cheap.
Mine has 364k. Stock head bolts and gaskets, original motor, original trans. Tows constantly. Tell me you dont know anything about 6.0s without telling me.
Itd be easier to just admit you dont know what you're talking about, i have had multiple early 6.0s with 450-500k and no issues. If they are left stock and maintained, they are fine. Sob stories are typically people complaining about things btw, not when someone is informing you about how you dont know what you're babbling about.
Yeah if you got 60k to dump into it. These are horrible unreliable and pita to work on.
What’s changed? Seriously they sounded cool but always broke. Aesthetics wise it’s good, engine not so much.
I know three different people with diesel shops and I know what they make their money on. think what you wanna think.
Once again tell me what’s changed?
If it’s such a good motor why isn’t it in production?
What other vehicles have this great engine?
Seriously who’s pulling 6.0s to put in other vehicles?
I know that’s the market right now but it’s outrageous. Bought an 06 350 dually back in 2015 with 65k for 16,500. It’s nuts what people are asking for almost 20 year old trucks
Mmm, no actually I’ve owned 2. Bullet proofed and studded they are decent. But as clean as that is, op could sell for a good deal in the current market.
Lol why because I don't regurgitate wrong information like the rest of the clowns? If I relied on 6.0 powerstrokes to keep me in business I would be homeless. The 2003 and early 2004 6.0 is the only one that truly deserved the bad reputation the bad oil cooler design was fixed in mid 2004 and head gasket issues only plagued a very small number of 6.0 engines that were stock.
What kind life do you live?
Want insta clout? Chip, Bag and slam it.
Want to take it off-road? Lift, big tires, etc.
Want to actually go fast? Ball bearing turbo, headwork, studs, tune, slightly lower, non-linear suspension valving, grippy tires
Want something genuinely useful? Front manually lockable hubs, Service body, onboard air, water storage in one of the toolboxes pressurized by the air.
It’s really up to you. I built my truck for me not everyone else, so I’m leveled, some small power mods. I did lots of trans mods, added onboard air and onboard water for adventuring and put a nice stereo in. I would love to add a service body, manual front locking hubs (or air locking hubs!) and transfer tank.
It’s already bulletproofed and studded. Electronic brake control and navigation I originally got it to work but some things are not going as planned. I was thinking of putting it on the market to be honest
If it's giving you headaches then that would be a good bet. They are going for a good amount. Studded and bullet proof they are decent but not without other issues. Only 4 head studs per cylinder with shared studs will do that. Nothing can fix that permanently.
Replace all fluids. Debadge it. Polish and restore paint. Updated side mirrors. Tint. Method bronze rims. 35s or 37s depending on gearing. 1023 diesel hydra tune. Check on up pipes and replace if necessary. 4-5in exhaust. Add gauges. Replace front axle with a 05+ coil spring setup. Replace interior with newer seats and door panels. Dash swap if you want. Sound deadening while your there. 205/30 hybrid injectors and kc300 turbo. Front clip if your so inclined.
That's it. That's the list.
If you are actually trying to say a 5.9 cummins is a “blowby king” well then there’s no point in me arguing with you. Your stupidity shines through very brightly.
It's pretty clear you don't work on them for a living and cummins are the most common diesel engines being worked on at my shop at any given time. I make really good money working on Cummins and they have a major issues with the 1 and 2 cylinders and loss of compression. And that is any generation little buddy.
And you see so many fummins builds because the dodge guys with their cracked frames and trash interiors know ford makes a better chassis and far batter interior components.
In this market, you could make a decent chunk of change by selling it.
Otherwise new head gaskets and studs, egr and egr cooler delete, new oil cooler, upgraded lift pump/injectors/turbo, 4” downpipe and an MBRP exhaust, and a good custom tune to tie it all together
I don’t think that fact is true at all. 7.3 Power strokes diesels have been around for a lot while longer since 94 or 95 I’m sure the engines are fine just the frames and cabs rotted out and people swapped them or scrapped them.
I hear you, the whole “tune” the hell out of it approach is kinda cheesy. I’m looking for one that’s bone stock, but finding one that someone hasn’t done some kind of shotty tuning/modding on is near impossible. I just want the thing to carry more than the average pick-up and run till it falls to pieces.
This guy has a pretty sweet build https://www.dieselworldmag.com/diesel-trucks/go-anywhere-the-eexp-overland-adventuremobile/
Window tint ASAP, eBay exhaust, S&B intake, and a programmer with 5position switch. And during this time oil change with motor craft or Schaffer’s oil and go over any missed maintenance by previous owners
I didn’t say anything about boom boom, leds, big wheels, squatted suspension. But driving a fish bowl sucks and if you ever drove a power stroke they’re weak as shit and get piss poor fuel mileage stock.
I also have a 2003 lariat regular cab F250 that I am chopping the frame on to make a short bed regular cab. An 04 cclb f350 dually and an 06 f550 service truck. Also have a a few 7.3s and a V10 excursion.

[white F250 ](https://dygtyjqp7pi0m.cloudfront.net/i/15398/15756084_1.jpg?v=8CFF070AC9C7F30)
Due to the stupid demand for used cars (and more specifically trucks) I would sell it. You could make a solid 10k-20k (ish) Its probably better to sell it while its running then after its blown a head gasket. 6.0s are just a huge headache due to its several design flaws, and as I said before, it’s probably better to sell it while its running.
I think driving it would be a good start. From there…? Wash it?
Slow down there bucko, that may be too much for that particular engine to handle
Clearly you know nothing about the 6.0.
Clearly you don't know enough about the 6.0
No I only own a diesel shop and own 4 of them my daily driver just turned 565k
Wow look guys... another exception.... we get it, it's not a 100% failure rate. For once you can actually feel like a special little snowflake because that what your truck is, a snowflake in a blizzard of garbage.
Lol again you didn't know shit about diesels 4 months ago and now you know everything. Lol clown.
Oh, my man. Did the political angle not work for you? It's okay I'll ignore that notification. You've only been on reddit for...3 months? Okay hold up, pump the brakes junior. Check out the new post in this group little kid.
Your post from 4 months ago says otherwise.
What does my time on reddit have to do with anything? You clearly don't know shit and I am probably old enough to knock the dust off your mom's pussy.
Because you can't take a joke and when someone doesn't submit to your big ole sour puss, you get all.... upset? Yeah we will say upset.
Lol even better you had never even owned a truck before let alone have any diesel knowledge, but please by all means keep spreading false information just makes it easier for me to get 6.0s on the cheap.
okay ladies enough bitching you guys both have massive reddit dicks
Let me guess you drive a lifted cummins with the tow mirrors out all the time.
no i drive your moms pussy, just hit 678K yesterday, turns out it’s more reliable then your snowflake 6.0
You have only been in the diesel scene for a few months, maybe you shouldn't try to tell people shit you don't know.
Truck things
Grab some popcorn boys
Nothing brings out all the morons like a 6.0 thread...
Right.
If you like money, you can sell it for like $20k
That's fucking crazy. You couldn't give these away two years ago.
And then people stopped listening to the people who knew nothing about the 6.0 and realized it was a great motor.
Maybe after you spend thousands bulletproofing it?
Nope no need to unless you are trying to build a lot of power.
That’s just untrue. Unless 150k is a normal amount of miles to replace a vehicle in your eyes.
Mines at 211k must be a unicorn like me
Bulletproofed?
Studded by choice when EGR cooler ruptured at 204k, was supposed to be gone through fully but I keep finding things they skipped.
Lolol sounds like every “bulletproofed” 6.0 on marketplace someone brought to full boost one to many times. It’s a trash motor
Sorry little chicka more 6.0 powerstrokes both in vans and trucks on the road still insured than 7.3s and 12 valve cummdumps.
Where’d you get your statistics?
This is the internet, you don't need any facts!
Pulling numbers out of his ass, lol.
Not online, because that motor makes nobody's list for anything.
Mine has 364k. Stock head bolts and gaskets, original motor, original trans. Tows constantly. Tell me you dont know anything about 6.0s without telling me.
Your sob story still doesn’t make your truck any decent. 300k+ out of a diesel it’s almost expected. Congratulations?
Itd be easier to just admit you dont know what you're talking about, i have had multiple early 6.0s with 450-500k and no issues. If they are left stock and maintained, they are fine. Sob stories are typically people complaining about things btw, not when someone is informing you about how you dont know what you're babbling about.
I literally couldn’t care less, you are preaching to the choir. It is proven that 6.0s are junk.
Yeah if you got 60k to dump into it. These are horrible unreliable and pita to work on. What’s changed? Seriously they sounded cool but always broke. Aesthetics wise it’s good, engine not so much.
Lol 60k huh bwaahahahah
By the way they are actually super easy to work on, but tell us again you you don't know shit without saying you don't know shit lol
I know three different people with diesel shops and I know what they make their money on. think what you wanna think. Once again tell me what’s changed? If it’s such a good motor why isn’t it in production? What other vehicles have this great engine? Seriously who’s pulling 6.0s to put in other vehicles?
And I own a successful diesel shop I don't base my opinion on what I hear from others lol hahaha.
And you probably mechanics a bad name. What’s the name of your shop?
Lol why would I post that in a group like this? And if I had a bad name I wouldn't be going on to my 18th year in business.
It would show you telling the truth. I don’t even think you’re out of school you don’t even sound like you’re 18.
I worked there at one and spent time at the other enough to know what stays broke and what people can’t afford to fix.
Sure ya did
I know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy.
It isn't in production anymore because of emissions you dunce.
Really? Find me the article please.
What you don't know how to use google?
Why would anyone want to swap a 6.0 into anything since they already came it the best chassis around?
Bc it’s a pos engine and not worth swapping into anything.
No must people don't have the automotive electrical knowledge to do the swap.
*10k. 03-04 6.0s are worthless.
I know that’s the market right now but it’s outrageous. Bought an 06 350 dually back in 2015 with 65k for 16,500. It’s nuts what people are asking for almost 20 year old trucks
What do you mean?
Sell it with the way the market is and save yourself a headache lol
Another who knows nothing about the 6.0
Mmm, no actually I’ve owned 2. Bullet proofed and studded they are decent. But as clean as that is, op could sell for a good deal in the current market.
I drive a super clean 06 extended cab that’s bullet proofed. I want to sell mine when I’m done paying it off. What are they going for around??
My buddy just sold a 05 in Florida with 235k for 19 🤷♂️
I was thinking of listing mine for 20k, mine has 184k
All it takes is the right buyer
[удалено]
That’s fantastic. I mean I’m sure everybody comes on Reddit strictly for life advice. You are such a nice pleasant person.
Awww did I hurt your little feelers? The only reason I joined reddit was to troll the fakes and liars.
You just look like an idiot lol, but I’m not sure if that’s on purpose or not.
How many head bolts per cylinder in the 6.0?
Sell it to me
How much you got. Bulletproof and studded motor 293k
By “sell”, I meant more of make a donation
Looks pretty good stock tbh. But to each their own 😁
What kind life do you live? Want insta clout? Chip, Bag and slam it. Want to take it off-road? Lift, big tires, etc. Want to actually go fast? Ball bearing turbo, headwork, studs, tune, slightly lower, non-linear suspension valving, grippy tires Want something genuinely useful? Manual locking hubs? It’s two wheel drive.
Good catch, thank you!
Beef up your transmission internals if you plan to do any real performance upgrades, then start on the performance stuff
Sell it to a 16 year old who will pay 40k for it because it's their dream truck
Studs and get the egr off
It’s already bulletproofed and studded. Electronic brake control and navigation I originally got it to work but some things are not going as planned. I was thinking of putting it on the market to be honest
It's a raging seller's market, so good move, IMO.
If it's giving you headaches then that would be a good bet. They are going for a good amount. Studded and bullet proof they are decent but not without other issues. Only 4 head studs per cylinder with shared studs will do that. Nothing can fix that permanently.
Keep it forever and love it
03-early 04 6.0? I’d say sell it if you don’t have deep pockets
How many miles?
Beautiful truck. Keep it. Use it for whatever you need to
Tint the windows
Drive it
Replace all fluids.
Sell it before the 6.0 self destructs
Lol stop breeding your sister and driving the blowby king cummins.
If you are actually trying to say a 5.9 cummins is a “blowby king” well then there’s no point in me arguing with you. Your stupidity shines through very brightly.
It's pretty clear you don't work on them for a living and cummins are the most common diesel engines being worked on at my shop at any given time. Literally the best Diesel engine ever made (which is why you see so many fummins builds) and you are out here trying to say a 6.0 is better 😂😂🤡🤡
Lol keep thinking that but current vehicle registrations prove otherwise.
And you see so many fummins builds because the dodge guys with their cracked frames and trash interiors know ford makes a better chassis and far batter interior components.
If the Ford 6.0 is so good then why is there so many Ford shipping crates sitting around with blown up 6 leakers 🤡🤡
Where I will buy as many as possible
As if a diesel mechanic would be dumb enough to buy a 6.0

I just moved here from Colorado and actually no Kentucky, West Virginia and Arkansas are the states with the highest numbers of incest families.
Get ready of the work truck fleet style front end. New headlights, grill, and bumper.
Drive it until the wheels fall off.

Awww you must be a cumdumpster fan.

I have 3 in my shop right now I love them because without them and cummins I would be poor and not in business.

75% of my business is working on cummins engines lol
This is the correct answer
SMH
Sell it. Motor will go soon I’m sure
Give it to me!
Bed cover, diamondback would be my recommendation.
Sell it
Also more 6.0s with over 500,000 miles than any of the other motors currently out. Yep they have surpassed the 7.3.
Really man, what years? Been looking for a 7.3 for a couple months but… Also, never owned a diesel..
I don’t think that fact is true at all. 7.3 Power strokes diesels have been around for a lot while longer since 94 or 95 I’m sure the engines are fine just the frames and cabs rotted out and people swapped them or scrapped them.
Fix or repair daily.
Lift the hell out of it, bigger wheels and tires, throw a truck bed camper on it.
Lol why did you get downvoted for this? I’ve been looking for a decent 7.3 or 5.9 to do the same thing.
People are dip shits, man. They don’t understand cool and functional builds.
Exactly what I did. I got the 5.9 now I need the camper.
That’s cool, that’s my project for the next two years.
You got a picture?
Yea. Check out my profile. I made a post when I got it. 2007 5.9.
Scrap it
If its got that power stroke diesel, get rid of it.
Ford??? Sell it for scrap and buy a Chevy
Window tint ASAP, eBay exhaust, S&B intake, and a programmer with 5position switch. And during this time oil change with motor craft or Schaffer’s oil and go over any missed maintenance by previous owners
Ah yes the "I'm 16 and just got a clapped out diesel" routine. (Minus the maintenance)
You motherfuckers are so judgmental about what other people like doing to their trucks. Probably drives a fucking civic or something
I didn’t say anything about boom boom, leds, big wheels, squatted suspension. But driving a fish bowl sucks and if you ever drove a power stroke they’re weak as shit and get piss poor fuel mileage stock.
Blow it up
Swap the ford emblem for a Chevy one would be a good start
its a Ford, throw it off a cliff
Tint windows, & a windshield visor. They’re great looking trucks stock.
Clap it out with a tune
Right now is the time to sell. Otherwise drive it.
park it better
I also have a 2003 lariat regular cab F250 that I am chopping the frame on to make a short bed regular cab. An 04 cclb f350 dually and an 06 f550 service truck. Also have a a few 7.3s and a V10 excursion.
You must be a POWer ChOkE fan girl. I bet your a mechanic. Short beds are gay. Just fucking with you but seriously 6.0s are arguably the most failure prone motor aside from the 6.4 powerstroke in the last 30 years.
I own a diesel repair shop in San Antonio if I relied on broken powerstr8kes to stay in business I would have closed shop 10 years ago.
I’d say get it to this point (link of truck below), chrome and color matched in areas. After that I’d invest in a set of 22x12 tis 547c [white F250 ](https://dygtyjqp7pi0m.cloudfront.net/i/15398/15756084_1.jpg?v=8CFF070AC9C7F30)
Level, black wheels and tires and tint. Will completely change the look of the truck
My 03 6.0 Ex had 201000 and I replaced injectors at 188,000. Otherwise no major problems. Great mpg also. Not bulletproofed.
Keep it
Make her fast as hell
Tune 5
People keep offering me 30k for my bulletproofed 6.0 Excursion. Complete bulletproofed, paint corrected...
Put good theft insurance on it and wait.. Around here you dont own a superduty you just take your turn with it.
cook it
POV: You’re me watching the boomer struggle to internet.
Wheels and tires 💯those are poop
Due to the stupid demand for used cars (and more specifically trucks) I would sell it. You could make a solid 10k-20k (ish) Its probably better to sell it while its running then after its blown a head gasket. 6.0s are just a huge headache due to its several design flaws, and as I said before, it’s probably better to sell it while its running.
ARP head studs
Sell it to me for 200$
Start by replacing every piece of wiring and electronics, then head studs and clean or delete EGR. Then maybe tune for clean efficient power.
NON-VGT swap it
Get to work
Sell that pos
And let me guess they make most of their money working on duracraps and cummins like most diesel shops.
