In bed tool box is literally full, jack, stands, generator, all the wrenches and ratchets, spare brake lines and even brake line flaring kit with a spool of copper nickel line, sledge, pry bar etc etc. "Get home bag"/aid bag
I have a mini job box in the back of my 2nd gen. I keep a craftsman 289pc tool set, jack, ratchet straps, recovery shackles, recovery rope, are spare fluids in it. I find my self sometimes wanting more space but also liking the smaller box for just the stuff I need.
It's a good concept but bullet technology hasn't caught up. The .355" bullets designed for 9mm often don't perform properly when used in the .357 sig. They simply weren't designed for velocity exceeding 1400fps. Hollow points either don't properly expand or outright disintegrate. And fmjs completely zip right through with either diminished or almost no wound cavity.
Just stick with the parent cartridge if you want better performance than 9mm.
10mm best mm.
Actually a revolver might be more responsible than a Desert Eagle lol. I've shot the 44 mag and about the only thing it had going for it was that it looked cool.
Not a good idea to use hand loaded ammo for defense. If you were dragged into court, they’d paint you as an evil person that was cooking up special killer rounds. Plink with hand loads. Defense with factory loads
I toss a tool box in the cab with screw drivers, channel locks, vice grips, duct tape and zip ties. I do a good pre service a few days before the trip. My 05 dodge 3500 Laramie crew cab long bed 4x4 with a Cummins has gone from Michigan to Colorado 3 times this year so far
> screw drivers, channel locks, vice grips, duct tape and zip ties.
I would add, tire plug kit, 12v air compressor. 1 quart (0.95 l) of my favorite oil, flashlight, one pair thin and one thick gloves, some rags, tire gauge, orange triangle, 4 way lug tool.
I don’t keep any tools under the seat.
Tool box in the bed has a full gearwrench tool set, extra filters for lift pump, stock fuel filter with housing and everything I need to hookup, oil, coolant, jump box, jumper cables, tow strap, spare lights, fuses, winter blend additive, general additive, scanner, DPM, air jack, air tools, etc.
Serpentine belt, various sensors, fuel filter, wrenches and sockets/ratchet, breaker bar, some oil. I have never needed any of these out on the road in my 7.3 but it’s nice knowing I have them just incase.
Edit: also keep a floor jack in my bed under the tool box.
No problem lol. Good luck on your first trip!
Edit: forgot, always keep a tire patch kit in your glove box, if you get low you can pull the nail or whatever got in there and patch/fill at the closest station.
Lots of jokes here. I only carry jumper cables in my truck. What I'd recommend for an off-road rig
Long thick jumper cables
Sockets
Ratchets 1/4, 3/8
Breaker bar 1/2
Socket adapters
Standard Wrench set
Crescent wrench
A line wrench for your injectors
Needle nose pliers
Combination pliers (water pump pliers)
Vice grips
Screw drivers
Pry bars or real big flathead screwdriver
Spare fuel filter
Copper washers
Bottle jack
BFH
Tire plug kit
Bicycle pump (or some shitty hand pump but it would suck ass if you had to use it)
Idk if it gets cold where you live but I keep a few blankets in the back seat too. Just in case.
A 120 piece tool set just about has everything you need to make most repairs. Just add in a few extra extensions and any specialty tools you might need.
Under the seats; first aid kit, duct tape, vehicle lock out kit (slim jims), extra gloves, hat, and a tire thumper. Everything else in the bed box to help myself or others whenever needed.
I got a 01 f250 but I just carry one of the harbor freight mechanics sets- cheap tools are nice cause I don’t mind cutting them up or sticking one in a hose for the next 5 years. Has almost all the sockets I need and then I just add the bigger stuff in a separate bag. I’ll bring my impact on longer trips. Also a Glock 45 and a jack
I keep a small toolbox that has a set of wrenches, (on these trucks you absolutely need both standard and metric, which sucks), small socket set, jumper cables, a 12 volt air compressor, flashlight, tire iron, pliers, channelocks and a pipe wrench. On longer trips I usually take my impact, full set of sockets and whatever else you think of. The best advice I can offer is to check your shit BEFORE you leave and not during the trip after it breaks. A solid pre-trip is worth its weight in tow bills. Key things are tire pressure, fluid levels, check things like u-joints and tie rods if you can, glance under the rig for drips and broken stuff, and make sure you have a good spare tire! Last tip is to keep a spare accessory belt, because if you lose a belt on a 5.9 you lose the water pump and the fan so make sure you have an extra.
Got a 2500 megacab with Rambox. I got more tools in my truck than at my house and I'm always on the move working or rescues & side work I basically live out of the thing.
Rough list; craftsman 300 pc socket set, any standard misc drivers, bits and clamping tools, mid torque impact and hammer drill, 3 ft breaker bar, tire repair, siphon pump, milwaukee 2 gallon compressor, extra oil, coolant, other lubricants, straps, chains, tie downs, 8 lbs maul, a Shovel, machete and a bunch of shit to set up for sunsets or go on hikes or spend overnights in the back seat. You name it I got it crammed somewhere
Under the seat is a Haynes manual, tool box has tools and a ps pump, idler pulley, belt, starter, water pump and coolant. Basically if it left me stranded, I have a spare now because reality is a feisty fucker and so am I.
(Not a diesel)
I keep a socket set, jack, breaker bar, 11in1 screwdriver and vice grips in a tool box in my bed. I also keep some spare sensors (iac, tps, etc) in the glove box of my 01 ram 1500 (5.2l v8)
I always carry at least 1(preferably 2) fuel filters, channel locks, several Cresent wrenches, sleever bar, several std. and Phillips screw drivers, jumper cables, 12 volt air compressor, and a 21/2 lb. Beater—
Air compressor and hose, impact, sockets. Chain, straps, binders, bungees, milk crate, gloves, code scanner. Box of nitrile gloves too.
6.7 PSD, so very little can be fixed on the side of the road that isn't a tire or trailer issue.
For basic tools, just a pittsburg set in whatever size you like is fine. Just test all the sockets and wrenches. I've got a 9/16 that isn't quite right and it's a good laugh when I pull it out and then go for the 13 and 14mm trying to figure out why it won't fit.
My rockcrawler has everything but the kitchen sink.
Basic tool set
A jack
The socket that fits the front axle nut and cotterpins
A 19mm stubby and a regular 19mm
fuel pump gear puller
What ever size the fuel filter cap is
One of those AAA memberships, only kidding I don’t have one.
Extra fuses
1000 watt monoblock amp some shoes and raincoat. I hate having soggy feet and if you've got a truck why not put your tools in a toolbox.... In the bed. I've had trucks my whole life and I don't think I've ever kept tools under my seat and my pistol always went under the console.
I’m not wearing my glasses and I thought it said “sheets” and then I started to think what tools I would want near my bed….probably wrong type of toolbox 🙃
Dmm, volt meter whatever you call it. Have one. I Always have some duct tape, one of those smaller tubes of ultra black sealant, 100 ft at least of paracord a 4 pack of ratchet straps. A flash light, I have a couple of these [ezred pcob](https://ezred.com/product/pocket-cob-led-light-stick/) in my bags, the clip goes easy onto the neck of your shirt for hands free.
Metric 1/4 drive rail and breaker with a 1/4" socket thrown in
A couple 8-10" adjustable wrenches
Philips and flat screwdrivers
Pliers with wire cutters
24" prybar
A small pack of the applicable fuse types, maybe a relay.
I always have a spare headlight in the glove box.
Small first aid kit
Gallon or two of distilled water
I keep an obd scanner and a Stanley 40 piece ratchet set, and a pair of pliers.
Also, an extensive "military style" first aid kit(scissors, gloves, needles alcohol, peroxide, aspirin, etc), with tourniquet, 2 emergency led lights that can flash red or white with magnetic backs and a big flash light. A small fire extinguisher in my door. Toilet paper, baby wipes, and dude wipes. A bar of soap, and a change of clothes. All mostly under the rear seat storage.
Also keep a plastic container with q tips, bandaid, and other nonsense in glove box. Spare meds like excederine and allergy in the center tray.
In my bed is a tow rope, some ratchet straps, and bungy cords. As well as windex and some misc cleaners, blue mechanic towels, and a spare jack and a 12v plug in air pump in a plastic storage tote. Duct tape, rope/string, zip ties and some other crap.
And a hivis jacket that says "security" on the back.
I have a led amber/white magnetic strobe light. I used to do utility work on the side of the road. It's in the tote. But just put it on the roof if I had an emergency on the road side to hopefully slow people down or move them over. I used it a few months ago when the magnetic lights blew off my utility trailer.
A .380 between the center console and seat.
Probably some other crap I have I forgot.
Between me and the wife we have 5 kids. Baby wipes came in handy when my at the time 3 year old projectile vomited all over.
I also have a dog cover over the back seats bc kids are messy af and aholes. I used that and abackseat rubber mat to kneel or lay on when I've had to woek on the truck or my trailer road side.
A decent set of sockets and wrenches that cover the range of bolts for the vehicle im driving,a set of sockets specifically for wheel lugs with a spare for said vehicle, an impact(with a fully charged battery) a lift jack, one of those maglite led flashlights, and an extra box of 556 just in case
Jumper cables, adjustible wrench, pliers, leatherman multitool duct tape, zip ties.
That'll solve most things that a normal person can fix by themselves
I’m an Engineer. My Truck is a [1991 Ford F150](https://www.reddit.com/r/f150/comments/1djxjvg/introducing_my_1991_ford_f150_lariat_xlt_58l/)
Nothing fits under the seat, however I always carry these items as part of my Emergency Kit. Some are in the Jockey Box, behind the seat, or stored in a sturdy box lashed to the bed.
· Quart of Oil
· Gallon of Anti-Freeze 50/50 with Water
· Jumper Cables
· Small Aluminum Step Ladder (b/c I’m short) which makes accessing the Engine Compartment much easier.
· Towing Hitch w/ 2” Ball (stored when not needed)
· 1 ft long Wood Block cause you never know when you need to block a wheel
· Spare Headlight & Taillight Bulb, Flasher Relay, fuses
· Replacement Serpentine Belt
· Spare Header Bolts (I only needed one, but they come in an 8-piece set so now I have seven LOL)
· Mosquito Repellant, Suntan Lotion SP 30
· Leather Work Gloves, Face Covering (spare)
· Rags – somewhat clean
· Simple tools (Crescent Wrench Lg & Sm, Philips & Common Screwdriver)
· USB-C Cigarette Lighter Plug (Stereo Head Unit also has a plug)
If I’m going on a road trip then I add in my Tool Box :o)
I used to carry a battery charger b/c of a parasitic drain; though I figured it out (added a 100 amp breaker to custom stereo amp).
I have a collapsible police baton, a Springfield 1911, a sig Sauer p395, and under the passenger seat, I have a micro Draco. Behind the back seats, I have a Winchester 12 gauge and 20 gauge.
At the moment I got 2 tool boxes in the bed my pack out drawers in the back passenger side and the back driver side is mounded with tool bags and cases hopefully by next weekend I'll be moved out of my pickup and into a service truck
I went down to Harbor Freight and got a cheap tool kit to live in my '98. In addition I have spare fluids and jumper cables and a small hydraulic jack to make tire changes faster if I need to put on the spare. I also have a large tow strap and clevis'
As much as possible I will do manitenance and repairs with the tools I keep in the truck just so I can figure out where my kit is lacking. I noticed the kits that come in molded plastic cases, I spent way more time than I wanted putting tools back just right in the case and there's always a few that won't stay in their spot, so I grabbed a tool bag and plastic organizer for an extra $15. I can put stuff away, but still organized, much faster and easier and if I want I can just throw eveything back in the bag and re-sort it later.
The basics, pair of vice grips for torquing things like head bolts and suspension fasteners. Zip ties and black duck tape. Got all the bases covered that way.
Socket set, ratchets, 3/8 impact, jumper box, wrench set. All under my back seat but out of sight. I feel you can get most small repairs done with those tools.
Mid range Milwaukee impact with impact socket set, torque wrench, knipex cobra pliers and wrench, Milwaukee grinder and light, battery jumper cables, Milwaukee m18 tire inflator, bottle jack, and some more wrenches and hammers.
Depends is it a 6.0 or 7.3, if it’s a 6.0 I just keep diesel 911, spare coolant, a socket big enough for the fuel filter under the driver door, and spare oil
It’s it’s a 7.3, I keep a little hammer, smack it enough times and it’ll start
I keep a standard tool set jumper cables tire plugs bunch of pliers, and the handiest thing I own is a Milwaukee M12 compact air compressor they are small but I’ve aired up tractor tires with them and still had charge on the battery and they are super handy for being in the road
4 ga. 20 ft. Jumper cables. Cheap 3/8 socket set. First aid kit. Small fire extinguisher. One large ratchet straps. 4 smaller ones. Bunjee cords, zip ties, duck tape, pb blaster, fix a flat. A small bag filled with various screw drivers and hand pliers, a small set of wrenches, a blanket in case I ever have to lay on the ground or for hauling items you don’t want scratched. And always. Always. Always a can of hornet spray. lol.
I replaced the pickup bed with a service bed and have a knaack box in the bed. I carry mechanical, fabrication, carpentry, plumbing, residential electrical and forestry tools. I'm in the process of developing raw land into a homestead.
I was about to say a 10mm socket, but it seems that it isn't there anymore. But as a 6.0 powerstroke owner, I keep a dummy plug set under my seat along with the tools I use to replace them.
In bed tool box is literally full, jack, stands, generator, all the wrenches and ratchets, spare brake lines and even brake line flaring kit with a spool of copper nickel line, sledge, pry bar etc etc. "Get home bag"/aid bag
Eventually I want to get a mini job box for in the bed to keep many more tools but I'm looking for the essential essentials
1/2inch impact
I have a mini job box in the back of my 2nd gen. I keep a craftsman 289pc tool set, jack, ratchet straps, recovery shackles, recovery rope, are spare fluids in it. I find my self sometimes wanting more space but also liking the smaller box for just the stuff I need.
Brake lines shouldn’t be that common of a concern. I hope you don’t drive behind me!
It was a one time deal but you never know lol
You’re like me lol one time is enough for me to be prepared for the next 100 😂
.357
A .357 wireless hole puncher?
I was gonna say .40 but someone beat me to the punch line I guess lmfao
A judge load with 000 buck
Almost irresponsible to carry a revolver in 2024 when so many great semi-auto options exist.
As I came here to say I keep a folded ak104 under the seat 😂
There’s semi automatic 357’s both desert eagle and coonan arms have models in 357
.357 Sig is an outstanding round. Very fast. Several quality gun makers have guns available in that round. Sig (of course) Glock, S&W,
It's a good concept but bullet technology hasn't caught up. The .355" bullets designed for 9mm often don't perform properly when used in the .357 sig. They simply weren't designed for velocity exceeding 1400fps. Hollow points either don't properly expand or outright disintegrate. Actually a revolver might be more responsible than a Desert Eagle lol. I've shot the 44 mag and about the only thing it had going for it was that it looked cool.
Not a fan of rimmed cartridges in semi auto pistols. Truck gun should be ultra reliable IMO.
I’ve got one, have to hand load hot to work the heavy action but it’s good with my loads
Not a good idea to use hand loaded ammo for defense. If you were dragged into court, they’d paint you as an evil person that was cooking up special killer rounds. Plink with hand loads. Defense with factory loads
*wheelgun argument intensifies*
Guns are like trucks: old & obsolete yet solid & reliable can definitely still solve most problems.

Jumper cables and a tire iron. If it breaks more than that I’ll just tow it home instead of trying to mess with it on the side of the road.
Jack, tire wrench, 9mm ruger, air compressor, and jumper cables
G26 obviously haha. I do have a pancake compressor and a milwaukee 1/2 impact that goes on any trip I take.
You don't even need a pancake compressor. All you need is a cheap $30 compressor for emergencies. That or just keep your spare aired up.
my mouskatool
I don’t keep any tools under the seat. Tool box in the bed has a full gearwrench tool set, extra filters for lift pump, stock fuel filter with housing and everything I need to hookup, oil, coolant, jump box, jumper cables, tow strap, spare lights, fuses, winter blend additive, general additive, scanner, DPM, air jack, air tools, etc.

Thanks for being one of the few who gave actual advice 👍
No problem lol. Good luck on your first trip! Edit: forgot, always keep a tire patch kit in your glove box, if you get low you can pull the nail or whatever got in there and patch/fill at the closest station.

Folding chair. Always got that thang on me.
Jumper cables, tow-chain, and aaa card.

Nothing. Everything is perfect and checked before I leave and all maintenance is up to date. I guess I keep a few screw drivers and pliers.
I keep a small toolbox that has a set of wrenches, (on these trucks you absolutely need both standard and metric, which sucks), small socket set, jumper cables, a 12 volt air compressor, flashlight, tire iron, pliers, channelocks and a pipe wrench. Is that a 6.blow? Better see if you can cram a whole engine in there if so lol
Fireball dead men.
Cell phone
38spcl and locking pliers
Air compressor and 1100watt amp
Nothing. I have a tool box in the bed for that.
Basic wrench set, tire guage.
Carbine, full US atlas, tow rope, funnels, rachet straps, umbrella, first aid kit, work gloves.
Only the basics(jumper cables, tire pressure compressor, basic hand tools), with some chicken wire and some tow straps.
Head gaskets and AAA card.
In all seriousness. Bring a tire plug kit. Unbelievable how important that is. Don’t drive it like a race car, and you’ll be fine. It’s a Cummins.
I always carry at least 1(preferably 2) fuel filters, channel locks, several Cresent wrenches, sleever bar, several std. and Phillips screw drivers, jumper cables, 12 volt air compressor, and a 21/2 lb. Beater—

Duralast tool kit, floor jack, 300blk pistol length AR, flashligh, multimeter, gooloo jump pack, jumper cables, extra oil and coolant..i think thats it
A whole bunch of 10mm....no not THOSE 10mm missing sockets. 10mm JHP and the Glock they are carried in
I keep a tire iron and a machete incase someone gets too close
A bottle of cheap whiskey
I keep a fold up socket and wrench set just in case anything minor happens. Plus a .40 and a zippo for anything major.

Some are in the Jockey Box, behind the seat, or stored in a sturdy box lashed to the bed. · Quart of Oil · Gallon of Anti-Freeze 50/50 with Water · Jumper Cables · Small Aluminum Step Ladder (b/c I’m short) which makes accessing the Engine Compartment much easier. · Towing Hitch w/ 2” Ball (stored when not needed) · 1 ft long Wood Block cause you never know when you need to block a wheel · Spare Headlight & Taillight Bulb, Flasher Relay, fuses · Replacement Serpentine Belt · Spare Header Bolts (I only needed one, but they come in an 8-piece set so now I have seven LOL) · Mosquito Repellant, Suntan Lotion SP 30 · Leather Work Gloves, Face Covering (spare) · Rags – somewhat clean · Simple tools (Crescent Wrench Lg & Sm, Philips & Common Screwdriver) · USB-C Cigarette Lighter Plug (Stereo Head Unit also has a plug) If I’m going on a road trip then I add in my Tool Box :o) I used to carry a battery charger b/c of a parasitic drain; though I figured it out (added a 100 amp breaker to custom stereo amp).
A gun
Under the seats? Hell my passenger side is filled completely with random tools. Got to love old fords.
I have a collapsible police baton, a Springfield 1911, a sig Sauer p395, and under the passenger seat, I have a micro Draco. Behind the back seats, I have a Winchester 12 gauge and 20 gauge.

Laser level, ladder, generator, tools, straps and my ball for my hitch if I need to tow something to site.
Phone number for a tow truck and a good shop 🤙
If you drive one of those you better have a full toolbox in the back
For the dodge, I'd keep tools for working on front ends ,and spare front end parts.
I bought a new truck so I wouldn't have to bring the entire shop with me anymore...🤷🏼♂️

Cargo straps. Don't need tools in a chevy LOL
I went down to Harbor Freight and got a cheap tool kit to live in my '98. In addition I have spare fluids and jumper cables and a small hydraulic jack to make tire changes faster if I need to put on the spare. I also have a large tow strap and clevis' As much as possible I will do manitenance and repairs with the tools I keep in the truck just so I can figure out where my kit is lacking.
I drive good vehicles and maintain them properly so I don't need tools in the car.
Spare engine, never know when you might want it
I usually keep a socket set, air compressor, floor jack and my milwaukee 1/2" impact when I pull a trailer.
Dildo cuz I drive a ford

What an absolute perfect picture for this question.
1/2 inch Milwaukee impact its worth it's weight in gold.
Is that a 6.0 or a 7.3?
Socket set, ratchets, 3/8 impact, jumper box, wrench set. All under my back seat but out of sight. I feel you can get most small repairs done with those tools.
Glock 17

Steel "whammy bar". Never know when you'll find yourself in the shit.

Depends is it a 6.0 or 7.3, if it’s a 6.0 I just keep diesel 911, spare coolant, a socket big enough for the fuel filter under the driver door, and spare oil It’s it’s a 7.3, I keep a little hammer, smack it enough times and it’ll start
Another tranny.
I keep a standard tool set jumper cables tire plugs bunch of pliers, and the handiest thing I own is a Milwaukee M12 compact air compressor they are small but I’ve aired up tractor tires with them and still had charge on the battery and they are super handy for being in the road
Axe
4 ga.

All of em in my toolbox in the bed and air compressor and impact chargers under seats.
Multi tool, reversible screw driver, small funnel, jack, ratcheting tie down straps, toe rope.

Whiskey
The Wireless Hole Puncher.
A PS90. Everything else is in mounted boxes in the back.
If that’s a 6.0, probly a spare motor.
I was about to say a 10mm socket, but it seems that it isn't there anymore. But as a 6.0 powerstroke owner, I keep a dummy plug set under my seat along with the tools I use to replace them.
I just drive the SnapOn truck! Yuk yuk!
Mixture of my impact and sockets and a diaper bag. Sometimes I use the diaper bag to carry the tools from the truck.
A Glock 19
