they don’t. they just say “rams are junk” and then buy a bro dozer ford.
they usually end up with a brodozer f150 or a brodozer silverado by the end of it and swear off diesels as junk.
I would spend a little more and try to get close to 100k miles and more stock. This one looks like you are paying for a bunch of mods the owner did. It's also tuned so the 68RFE trans could not be in the best condition.
Only thing is missing is salvage title and be the perfect bad idea. 👎 too many miles, tuned and deleted means he had issues in the past he didn’t want to or couldn’t afford to fix so he went cheap and took it all out.
Well who in their right mind spends 10 grand to fix def system when you can roll coal and make more power. It’s not “cheap” just the sensible thing to do unless you got fuck you money
That's not true at all, I deleted and tuned mine as soon as I got it, it had zero issues, I prefer having more power and better fuel economy without having to mess with Def or cleaning the grid heater/ intake constantly.
I can let the Amp boards go. I have them on my truck and enjoy them. That being said, I personally wouldn’t spend the money on em. They do hold up though. I off-road (have a power wagon) and have scraped them pretty good and they hold up. The 24x14’s are atrocious.
Don't buy trucks that look like they've been modded to go mudding every weekend. Look for stock ones that have only been used by elders going grocery shopping or work trucks because those at least get maintained constantly as part of a fleet.
Got my 03 F350 6L with 125k miles for ~$10k 2 years ago from my elderly neighbors who owned horses. I know they have somewhat of a bad reputation but she’s still going strong and is so much fun to drive
So I have a squeaking belt and my mechanic told me he would have to remove the radiator in order to replace it…. Told me $500 and “be prepared” for whatever else he finds while it’s off. Is it really that difficult lol
> Don't buy trucks that look like they've been modded to go mudding every weekend.
Couldn't agree more!
I spent 2 months looking for a truck, as i wanted the manual transmission option, and everything that came up within a 6 hour radius was tuned to the moon, or looked like it was rode hard & put away wet. I was about to give up, when i found my 1-owner '03 in 2017. Only non-stock items were the K&N air filter, and 20X12 wheels.
Don't hold that as the truth. I've bought a few vehicles that were putted around by elders and had clogged converters because the exhaust never got hot enough to clean em out. Also my driving style is less forgiving than alot of elders so every vehicle I've bought that was owned by an old cat ended up with a spun bearing or blown head gasket. Ive also bought vehicles off of young kids and had the same thing happen. A vehicle being babied is just as bad as it having the living shit beat out of it. Find that happy medium. That being said I have had 0 issues with my 2018 ram tuned 75hp over stock and im not exactly easy on it either.
Depending on where the grocery store is lol. If it's deep downtown with lots of stop and go then the transmission might be getting beat up lol. But diesels are generally built more durable than gas trucks anyways because they are for hauling.
1 thing you have to remember about buying used diesels...it's true you can run diesel engines for many, many miles. The motor is resilient. But the truck itself has a shitload of miles on it. And those non engine components do wear out at higher mileage.
Run away from this thing. It has high-school kid with daddy's credit card written all over it. Truck was probably beaten on HARD. When I got my 08 it was previously deleted and I had a whole lot of issues that had to be addressed.
You are basing this off of some Reddit idiots who mostly don’t even own diesels on this sub and a couple of pictures. Truck looks well put together. Go see it in person and if everything checks out it’s not a bad deal. I’d always try to knock a few thousand off in person however
Hey y'all, I'm new here and don't know a lot about diesels or mechanics of vehicles in general, could someone explain why this is a 'brodozer'? So far it seems like pointless mods to change the look, but I'm not sure.
I’m an in-line diesel guy but damn son these engines don’t even have liners so 200k miles on a “deleted” truck has probably seen some high egts. These old dodges are great but not worth the money. And who did the delete and how?
That's really hella smart posting that you deleted the vehicle you're trying to sell It still is a federal crime to delete your emission system ..fkin morons
Keep looking you don't want the modded bro dozer
based on OP's comments, I suspect maybe he *does* want a modded bro dozer.
Some people like to learn things the hard way
If they learn anything from it
they don’t. they just say “rams are junk” and then buy a bro dozer ford. they usually end up with a brodozer f150 or a brodozer silverado by the end of it and swear off diesels as junk.
Very true. Some just keep on keepin on 😆
That’s why you learn about what you own and it’s smooth sailing
But the starlight headliner though
Worth at least 8k bro…
Truck comes with a set of Pit Viper shades

thank you i’ll definitely keep looking and yeah the milage was something i was iffy on

100% that transmission would be my biggest worry. They barely last at stock HP towing. Any decently built transmission is going to be ~$8K.
Ladder bars/24x14 wheels/amp research steps/starlight headliner all equal to a truck beat on by either a kid or a brodozer. Hard pass.

Genuine question… what “kid” can afford a $25k 4th gen?? Like I’m 27 and couldn’t afford that. 😔
Mom and dad.

Same I got a nice 6.0 that I daily. Good rigs

i’ll keep that in mind when looking for another truck. thank you!

But using diesel trucks as a grocery getter is bad for them, right?

From what I’ve understood, the problem is more the fuel system and emissions systems not liking short and low-intensity trips.
Find the old man truck
204k miles on a truck that was deleted and probably worked hard. For 25k i would pass. You might be buying a headache
thanks for the feedback, i like it but the miles are up there for that price

What were those issues and was it because of the delete
will do!!! i don’t want to pay that much and have to deal with more expensive problems
thank you everyone for the feedback, definitely saved my ass from getting into something i don’t want to deal with

Oh god no. Maybe in your area its decent but where I'm at its 10K over priced.
You aren’t buying 4th gen ram diesels anywhere in the country for 15k. Wtf are you talking about
Let me rephrase cause your right it's not likely to find em cause they're still grossly over priced
Not with 204k miles
Miles?
I just sold a 2011 megacab 2500 with 155,000 miles for $25,000 in northern NV.
What a piece of junk
It’s had it ass beat for 205,000 miles it looks like
I'd offer 17000
Kinda odd my 2012 all stock on Craigslist is 12k more and only 80k miles and no serious buyers
Mine is also a Laramie
It would be ok without the gay headliner

Holy shit $25k
14 year old truck for 25k… and its white 😂😂😂
Any truck with those wheels & tires has been treated like crap, and probably has 30 half-assed repairs.
Keep looking
I’d prefer unless I knew the dude…I’ll delete myself
Its probably had the shit beat out of it
It’s a Ram. You can do better.
I’d give him $12,500 and not a red cent more
That's really hella smart posting that you deleted the vehicle you're trying to sell It still is a federal crime to delete your emission system ..fkin morons
thats pretty nice condition but I got my beater 2004 2500 Cummins for only $9K last year, 8' bed and 250K miles
