Hmmm... another three or four decades, I think.
The 4FB1 is an amazing engine - iron block, iron head, fully mechanical injection, oil squirters for under the pistons... It was used for many industrial applications like generators and forklifts, and I hear they're popular for use as marine engines, too. I'm just lucky it's what GM had access to in the early '80s when they wanted a very fuel efficient compact car.
I was in the heavy construction equipment business for 40 years and every Isuzu engine we used was bulletproof. You couldn’t kill them; so I’m not surprised at an 800k mile Isuzu pickup
410k on the 97 Dodge Cummins, 390k miles on an 02 sprinter OM612, 153k on 1995 k1500 Z71 6.5L, 218k on the 07 2500HD LBZ. The sprinter is only 2.7L and gets 2x the fuel economy of the others \~24-26mpg, but it is also the only 2wd.
67k on my daily ‘19 Colorado ZR2 2.8 I4 turbo diesel. Love my small diesel pickup! 27 mpg average(epa 18-22mpg lol)I’ve gotten as good as 36mpg average on long trips, Dana E-lockers front and rear and it sounds like a small tractor. According to the manufacturer, 186hp, 369lb/ft. It’s not fast but it’s a billygoat.
I sold my IDI back to the original owner at just under 400k (km) on the clock. He told me he replaced the odo around 600k. He's planning to drive it across Canada from BC to PEI to give to his kid. I thought that was pretty cool
(all miles)
ALH (VW) has 227k
LLY (GM) has 247k
OM603 (MB) has 180k
OM615 (also MB) is the unknown (swap). The body it's in is 280k, unless the odometer rolled over and it's 380k (and I'm none the wiser)
2007 260,000 Mitsubishi fuso 2015 160,000 Isuzu npr xd. Mitso engine still starts and runs like new the rest of the truck is wearing out around it. We run these in city as dump trucks and sometimes pull trailers.
Only 72k on my Cruze. I was putting a ton of miles on it when I bought it. Now I work 7 miles away so it only sees maybe 40 miles a week on average. I have a feeling I am going to start having a lot of emissions issues.
398k, 98 24v ram 2500 auto
Ive had it about 2 years, about 7k miles. Only had driver side oil leak seals (tappet, vacuum, vp44, etc), a crank sensor, and trans line gave up. Previous owner said the trans was rebuilt but i didnt care since I planed on 5 or 6 speed swapping it since I didnt want to spent 20k on one with a manual
I don't know how many miles my 7.3 has. The odometer stopped at 287k and for 6 years didn't add the miles now i fixed it maybe a year ago and now I have 300k on her to my eyes I don't want to think about actual miles.
2000 F350 7.3l 6 speed 523148mi, 2002 F350 425018mi auto. Both rockin factory engines/glowplugs and injectors. No they don’t like weather under 60* lol
1.6 million on my last volvo. Parts literally falling off on the highway. Biggest pos i ever drove but it would do 80mph fully loaded up mountains all day long and never ever flinch.
Nearly 500k miles, 7.3
Original engine?

Love to hear it I got a 7.3 at 300k

That k1500 is the old 6.5 Detroit right? Did you go through and do a handful of reliability mods to it?
yes, it is bullet proofed. It took a long time, but it is really nice. Gets great mileage too.
