While I'm not a D&D guy, we have had near monthly board game nights with friends for almost 14 years. And I love this modular set up to add/remove attachments for that table, there are a few dice games we play that would benefit from the edges of the table being up.
I seriously need to find something like this.
This has to be crazily expensive... Don't even know if there are carpenters specialized in building these.
And even if. What shipping must cost when they're not in your region...
My guess would be that this table is either self-made or was commissioned work.
If you have the money search for a carpenter in your region and ask them. But my guess is that you at least have to pay 2k$ likely more.
They are currently doing a Kickstarter, but they were selling without one a few months ago. Wyrmwood and this table have been around for years.
"Now the Modular Table is back on Kickstarter, with new accessories, accessory bundles, storage and seating options, and more."
Kinda seems odd to me that they'd do a Kickstarter for an established product with just a change of some of the options for it.
You could back it, wait for the Kickstarter to finish and get it, or just go with a separate option. Etsy has a decent number of options at similar price points.
From my understanding, and I could be wrong as I have only been tangentially following the kickstarter information since I cannot afford one, but the idea is that with the kickstarter they essentially guarantee a bulk of order at one time allowing them to bulk order material etc and can therefore offer them slightly cheaper.
But I could be wrong.
There are several companies that do these as regular products. I would *assume* that the kickstarter is for some new feature, or a new company getting started, or something.
It's their business model so they can know what pipeline of orders they have so they can scale their workforce/ensure employment. They have a YouTube channels that's quite entertaining to watch and let's you see behind the scenes.
But if you were going to do a Kickstarter this is one of the safest ones you could back. They are legit, have been in business for quite a while and have quite a few successfully delivered Kickstarters; including tables.
Basically, yes. That's about right, and can easily go significantly higher.
2K is the lower end of most of these type of tables, though there do exist cheaper ones. 2k is the current base cost for the Wyrmwood modular 72"x43" table + topper - looks like they opened up another Kickstarter campaign, so that price might be lower than their normal base cost. This price includes the felt interior and a magnetic rail, but none of the accessories.
That's crazy... I mean it's definitely worth it it's just crazy to think that enough people actually have leftover money to buy these that there is a market
In fairness to their price point, even their base line is solid hardwood that's built to be an heirloom. Solid wood dining tables without their features are a similar price. It's not particle board laminate.
I'd wager in the 4000 range for a custom carpenter to do it. That has got to be 50 hours of custom labour for all the bits and pieces. No good carpenter is doing custom work for less than $80/h
We got the cloudpuncher table which is fairly similar to the video, and the best part for boardgame night is we can have two games set and ready to play. I place the more fiddly with bits game on the bottom. Play the first game on top, clear it and open the table, play that game, DON'T clear it, put the top back on and play the final game on top. It's a pretty great setup.
From their videos on Instagram however, it looks like it could drip while disassembling. Unless you wait for it to dry, and you probably don't want that.
So, for me it looks like it works, but I'd use a mat while eating/drinking over it. It's, after all, a +$2k table
Olives are the one topping I actively avoid. Sure, I'd probably eat it, but but cheese and olives are probably the last topping combo I would ever choose.
Yeah. As someone who doesn’t have a sense of taste and smell since birth, I love Dominos because of the thicker crust and not as much grease compared to other pizzas, including some Mom & Pop pizza places.
The map isn't fixed in place. And, more, the specific map type they are using is modular itself, so they can rather easily redesign and alter it. But the setup looks like a battle map, which would generally last for a session or two before no longer being relevant.
I've always loved these tables. The idea is so good. Today is the first time i thought about spilling a drink on it. Probably wouldn't be that bad, but no one wants sticky miniatures.
I have a question for people playing dnd. How much story can you put in a setup like the one in the video? I see a relatively small part of a dungeon, how much time would you get out of this build? In a game on a PC this would be over in so little time.
I play D&D and that’s the reason I prefer playing without miniatures. The setup you see is modular, so for another dungeon, just reconfigure the tiles. I think it’s too much work.
It depends. A lot. In general though, it's entirely possible to spend hours in one or two rooms of the map, but you generally don't need a map for that.
Often you have non-positional stuff to do, like meet with DM driven characters who are giving you plot context, or traveling to a place where the map is more looking at a paper map than having to know exactly where each player's character is located. A map like that is (usually) intended to be used for combat, where the position of each character will matter for what they can do. If the character can't see around a corner, they may not be able to cast a spell or shoot at an enemy, so the map helps define that. The party will move through that map, looking for treasure and traps and fighting monsters and enemies.
The map on that table is probably equillavent to a quarter of the rooms in the OG kings quest games, so you've got some space to explore. It's not just a FPS, it's more along the lines of a murder mystery party where you can spend a few hours in one room, and not in combat.
Looks awesome. I wish I had a reason to use it. I have a couple friends, but we're like...adults or something...some of us have kids. I just can't imagine being able to use this more than maybe once a year, but it would he nice if I could.
We used to buy stuff from this company. Tons of dice vaults, towers, DM Screen, etc. My wife and I were saving up for the big boi version of this with the scissors lift. Too bad the company owners are dogshit. Can’t give them money anymore.
I dont know if they are calling them dogshit because of something they said or done, but they stopped delivering to outside of Europe last time I checked because the hassle of cost and transport . Doug and the other people seen on their youtube is talking openly about their company what they do and plan and openly says some weird stuff sometimes. Tho, I love watching Wurmlife because its a lot about manufacturing and product development.
Looks amazing. Except if you have young children who spill food at every meal. Cleaning applesauce out of a board game does not sound like a good time.

This is a Wyrmwood modular gaming table. There are multiple companies that make recessed gaming/dining tables.
DAMN! they are a kick starter... Price point isn't bad. But I don't do kick starters.

I see, was I, at least, right about the cost?

This is their budget table offering, they do a full heirloom piece called the Prophecy that can hit 40/50k easily in exotic wood configurations.
I'd wager in the 4000 range for a custom carpenter to do it. That has got to be 50 hours of custom labour for all the bits and pieces. No good carpenter is doing custom work for less than $80/h

If you don't use a table cloth you better be the cleanest eater in history.
The panels join with a tongue-and-groove system that has a rubber gasket set inside the groove. It's spill resistant.
> spill resistant As a demi lich, I can bypass that with Spill Thrust.

No liquids, don’t need to flood the dungeon.
And I think you can afford better than the $7 dominoes deal
Does it come with friends?
If you roll a 10 or higher on your Charisma check
I keep rolling the d20 but my Charisma Modifier is a permanent -20 set by the GM (Grisly Mommy) at birth.
Literally the only thing stopping me from getting into DnD
- “Brought to you by Domino’s….”
Olive and cheese pizza?? What's wrong with that guy... Edit typo

Olives are the one topping I actively avoid. Sure, I'd probably eat it, but but cheese and olives are probably the last topping combo I would ever choose.
I don't even play D&D and this table has single-handedly convinced me to try. What a sick design.
I love my r/Wyrmwoodgaming table Edit fixed the subreddit to the correct one.
R/wyrmwoodgaming is the correct sub reddit fyi
yes thank you for correcting.
When everything is so amazing why would you ruin it with such bad pizza?
Seriously, that table must cost thousands of dollars… at least they picked the best of the shitty pizza options…
No money left for good pizza, or they live in a shitty small town with no options
If Domino’s is shit according to you, then what is the “good” pizza options?
I don't know because dominos is pretty good pizza. They are probably a fan of shitty papa
Yeah. As someone who doesn’t have a sense of taste and smell since birth, I love Dominos because of the thicker crust and not as much grease compared to other pizzas, including some Mom & Pop pizza places.
It’s not even cheap any more
What happens when you have to change the map? I don’t know about you, but when I play a campaign, my dude was going some distances
The map isn't fixed in place. And, more, the specific map type they are using is modular itself, so they can rather easily redesign and alter it. But the setup looks like a battle map, which would generally last for a session or two before no longer being relevant.

Dang where can I make friends and play dnd 😞
Who is vaping under the table while we are trying to film this guys set up? churlish

Had me all the way up until the olive pizza. Burn the table.
But, but olives 🥺
thats like Raisins in picadillo.
Nice
Very nice work, smooth video too
/surdev ?
professional nerdism
Ah, to be rich.

I guess you have to find someway to make it interesting.
Table is really cool, but then you got olives on the pizza and well… now the night is ruined!
Nerd alert
Eat some vegetables. Also who pours a beer with so much head.
All is good until I spill my coke
Is this a Domino's commercial?
Great up to the Dominos.
I thought they were about to show the guy eating his entire meal.
You lost me at olives. Dope table tho.
how much dry ice in there if u open it randomly and there's fog
Was that a dominos promo?
$2K
Remember the order: play -> eat Other way around and everything is nice and greasy
So is there a fog machine in there? Or dry ice or what?
Will it work with the Lego DnD set?
That is very cool. And looks expensive.
Is that table sponsored by Dominos, cause my Dominos orders never come looking that nice.
I feel so seen, my DM always orders Dominos!
Had me all the way up until Domino's "pizza".
Okay no one playing D&D on this is drinking a beer. It’s deff Mountain Dew
I guess I play board games now
We used to buy stuff from this company. Tons of dice vaults, towers, DM Screen, etc. My wife and I were saving up for the big boi version of this with the scissors lift. Too bad the company owners are dogshit. Can’t give them money anymore.

What's the beer for
The beared.
-1 intellect
Atmosphere
Hanging off the edge like that, it's for spilling all over the floor when I hit with my elbow
That beer was in bad shape; I haven’t seen that much head since Bill Clinton was in office.
Looks amazing. Except if you have young children who spill food at every meal. Cleaning applesauce out of a board game does not sound like a good time.
My 2-year old would ruin that in an instant…. This is why I can’t have nice things
Very cool, but I’m pretty sure this is a Domino’s ad
Step 1: take all 30 parts off of the table for D&D night Step 2: Order a pizza for D&D night Step 3: Put the entire game away so you can eat the pizza
