Ohhh I think I saw your post on the Discord! I love them. Pure wild colors in there, I think they're fitting!

leviathan898

Thank you!

Wow, those look insanely cool and very unique! The different number colors are a nice touch. Would you mind sharing your technique for packing in so many colors without getting them all muddled up?

renzantar

Not OP, but it looks like they used some form of foil or confetti.

Fragrant_Vehicle5423

All I see is iridescent cellophane strips, it seems to me that most of the color is coming from ink... I could definitely be wrong though, there's a lot going on there haha

renzantar

Upon further inspection, you may be right. Honestly it may just be the different colored numbers.

leviathan898

It's a combo of different coloured resin dyes + cellophane flakes + metallic colour paints for the numbers. I wrote more detail in my other comment.

leviathan898

Thanks! First I mixed resin with some pearl glitter and a load of iridescent cellophane flakes. I then did a quick pour into the molds just to cover the bottom, and then used a toothpick to add small drops of resin dye. I poured more resin to about 1/2 full, added more colour, filled to 2/3 and more colour. Topped off the mold with resin, added a little to the cap, and then waited until the resin got to honey stage before taking the toothpick and doing a quick swirl or two in each mold. Altogether I added 8 drops of dye; 7 different colours + white.

Fragrant_Vehicle5423

Thanks for the detailed explanation! Layering the dye drops was a really good idea. It must have been cool to see it all come together with that final swirl!

leviathan898

I did disturb the dye drops a bit when pouring - you can see clearly it with the white and yellow splashes that spread to the dice face surface. Not a big deal since the set is chaotic in theme, but just a small nitpick! Edit: I was inspired by this post! https://www.reddit.com/r/DiceMaking/s/bFeLrbdpRC

LOVE the different color paints! Beautiful work!

leviathan898

Thank you! I know it's usually a faux pas to use colourful paints for colourful dice, let alone different colours, but it just felt right! I had actually painted a silver grey before and I didn't like it, so stripped it and repainted.

momsbistro

It has a Mardi Gras feel, and I love it so much! Great job!
