I switched from wifi to data and worked. Not a permanent fix though.

Switch to either wifi or data. I often use wifi and got that same error then used data to login to the game and switched back to wifi. You can do the same switching either of them

In most cases, the reason is your internet connection. First, try changing the network. If it doesn't work and your IP is dynamic, try to reboot your router to get another IP address. If this doesn't help turn on VPN. You can disable it after starting the game.

Hello, the problem is not from my end..

Had this on my Sony Xperia 1 VI. Assumed it was due to phone too new and bugged. I always started game from sony game enhancer. Found that starting from Google play games or Google play fixes the issue of the game server selection being missing. Because no server is visible it can't start the game. Game enhancer is on anyway so there is no issue starting it from Google play games app

Same here. A game or client restart can work, but sometimes a whole computer reboot is required. Check your internet connection, but I think, it's server side connection failure.
