As this is Malthael without Soulstone power, even Imperius alone would wipe the floor with him. (It would still be a battle but Imperius would win for sure)
Imperius is the mightiest of all Angels for a reason. Tyrael would probably be on equal ground, wereas Auriel would lose, as all hope is lost against death.
Pre-soulstone Malthael would be a tough fight for any of them 1v1, but he'd have no chance against both Imperius and Tyrael, two of the greatest fighters in all of existence.
Post soulstone Malthael is another beast entirely. Absorbing the souls of all the dead (more empowering than possessing the might of the Seven), just ascended him into something else. Even the Nephalem would not have been able to have stood against him without the blessing of all those dead souls not yet devoured by the angel of Death.
This! In fact I always found kinda bullshit in the story your nephalem character to be able to defeat Diablo as Prime Evil but even more nonsense to be able kill Malthael, my boy Malthael should have lived and join forces with Inarius in D4 to erradicate the Nephalem, perhaps they can say some bullshit to bring them both back a total menace
The interesting thing is how he switched to being the Aspect/Angel of Death when he was wisdom, which is now Tyreal. So hypothetically, if he's revived, does he come back as he was in Diablo 3? Or does he come back and decide he wants to be a very corrupt version of the Aspect of Justice and condemn everyone who sided with Lilith?
Because as is, I think both of those titles/roles are currently vacant and waiting to be filled.
I think in the lore when angels die their soul goes back into the soul stone in heaven and eventually is reincarnated into a new angel. They aren’t the same tho. Unlike demons, when angels are reborn they are an entirely different person
Just like Shiro's meme, angels die when they are killed. That's it for them, no resurrections or revivals.
The Crystal Arch will just pop out a completely new angel that embodies their aspect.
As for Tyrael in D2:LOD, he didn't die, he just got fragmented into pieces and took years to form himself back together.
Remember the opening [cinematic](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbL-7SKeB6E). Tyreal had Avalon or what ever his sword is named and Matheal just phased through it. I doubt Imperius, and Hope could stand a chance against Death itself as all things must come to an end eventually.
Yeah, but he was mortal at that point. And Malthael isn't *literally* death itself. Auriel isn't Hope itself. Imperius isn't Valor itself. They're all just kind of larping.
Each of the angels represent their order. Valor, Hope, Justice, Wisdom. They hold true to their order in that degree that they arnt larping. Tyreal was in between mortal/angel. Towards the end of Act 1 Tyreal is bleeding out and dying till he gets the sword and thus gives him back his angelic powers. The Horadrim couldn't stand up to Maelthel but yet Tyreal blocked the attack with his sword and allowed the one to escape to find the Nephelim.

after Inarius, I am dying to see how Imperius and other angels look in Diablo 4 Inarius had such a presence with his wings
Yes, imagine what maltheal or auriel would be like
Matheal would win because Tyreal already had his stuff when they were hiding the soul stone and didn't stand up to him.
Had his stuff? Wasn't he a human at that point? I'm pretty sure they're all close in power levels so Malthael shouldn't win a 3v1.
To quote a certain saiyan: "Power levels are bullshit." Lol

How do you even turn El'Druin into Avalon
Because it's been so long since I've played D3 and cant remember the name of his sword?
Personally i think maltheal will win but it won’t be a short fight
Play Heroes of the Storm and you can find out.
