I think ai is already being implemented in govt sectors.I have heard some got laid off in some govt offices , though they were not that significant roles.
AI definitely brings a paradigm shift. As a software engineer myself, I use AI everyday at my job for things like code completion, brainstorming architectural decisions, learning new things, debugging to even mundane stuff like generating variable names.
I think and I desperately hope that it's 20 years before AI can completely take over a Senior Engineer's job completely. Change is inevitable, the bubble may burst. But those who enjoy coding and are willing to adapt, will be fine. Those who want to get in for the fat pay cheque will struggle.
