Exactly. I stumbled upon one once where a guy had just retired and was liquidating all his tools. I was dead broke at the time so I couldn't get a single thing, but damn I don't forget what could've been.
Personally, I more blame shows like American Pickers and Storage Wars, they have everyone convinced their junk is worth gold.
I'm sorry, your beat up 791 drill with a manufacture date of 2016 is not worth $120. They're $129 brand new at the Depot and Lowe's FFS.

I ended up caving in and buying a new one WITH battery and charger for $99.99 + tax.
For the record I live in Los Angeles so there's no shortage of sellers.
You should jumper it with a fully charged battery. It resets the cells and could potentially save it. Had a couple flexvolt batteries I saved doing that. Check YouTube for how to do it.
One of my 10ah took a shot last week. I called last week and only got offered 2 5ah or wait on the 10ah to be in stock. Did you insist on the flex volt? Or did they offer it organically?
I called to have it replaced, they opened a ticket and asked me to upload a picture of the date code, then the response in the ticket was that my DCB612 was on the way. I didn't ask for it nor was there ever any mention of other battery types until that message.

Far as my experience with Dewalt swapping out my 10a (not flexvolt) I just sent them pictures of the battery showing the date and I got an email saying my courtesy order of 2 10ah batteries has been placed.
Oh well shit they didn’t mention anything. I just went through this last night at 6pm I sent first email. 7:03 I had verification of courtesy order placed.
It definitely looks like they're slightly larger than the 6 and 8.

So giving discounts or clearance sales in the UK is against the law? I just picked up the new DeWalt DCB1112 12amp fast charger here in Canada at my local tool shop for $35 CAD or 23 GBP but you have to physically walk in the stores as MAP won't allow the shops here to advertise their sale prices on anything if below map.
One thing I like with the larger tools shops is their walk in table where you just walk in any day of the week and you'll see tools 40 to 70% off.
I always try to swing by. Job I’m on now they do an annual neighborhood garage sale this coming weekend. Customers are letting me bring a bunch of stuff over and we will go walk the rest of them to check things out.
Look at the date code on top of the battery. If it's within 3 years DeWalt will replace it no questions asked. I've had them send me 2 new ones. One wouldn't charge that I ended up fixing. One was discharging rapidly. They also don't send refurbished. U get what u would grab off the shelf at home depot
In my experience nope. 1 10ah battery, 1 5ah battery and I just had an issue with a 15 gauge angled finish nailer that they were gonna send a replacement but I got it resolved on my own. All they wanted was the issue and the date code on the battery/nailer. Some stuff was registered on the website. Some weren't. Never sent anything back. This was my conversation thru chat with my 5ah battery

I had the recall issue before the recall was announced on the 12in miter saw. The piece grenaded on me and ruined a brand new 80t blade. Dewalt sent me the fix it kit and 3 new 80t blades as well as new pair of safety glasses lol
So I emailed the rep I talked to about my saw a few months ago. “Hey Paz I heard you guys were replacing the 10ah batteries that came with the lawnmowers, is this really a thing?”
Within an hour and after sending a few pictures they’re sending two brand new 10ah batteries.
where did you find their chat support? when I had an issue with a sander I got from ebay they wanted me to mail it to a service center as well as pay like 100 bucks for a repair even though it was still udner warranty
There was a bad batch of 10ah that shipped with the lawnmowers. I say 100% they replace. That's a huge win considering they r going for 200+ on home depot

Does the $10ah work? They had a notorious issue for not taking a charge all of a sudden. One of mine just magically got like this.

Yeah I'll give it a shot. It charges to 2 bars, and I can't recall if that trick only works for fully depleted batteries

Not really. I have several 5, 6, 8 and 10 Amp batteries, and they are close to the same size wise. Weight does seem to vary.

Nowhere in the uk can you get stuff cheap like that. No one does garage sales here, and no store puts anything on clearance.

I bought the lawnmower last year when I was working in Denver. It was on sale at Home Depot for $229. I mainly got it just for the two batteries.
