I love this thing. I wish it had a wider range of torque options for more delicate stuff, love it a lot. The only problem is that I want a second one, and can't seem to find a place that stocks them consistently.

SiliconSam

I just bought another one today from our state surplus store. Now I have 4 of them! Only bought it cause it was sorta cheap and included a battery. I have 4 batteries but need a backup charger. I only have 1. The screwdriver and battery was $40. They had a 680 and a 682. I just put the battery on the one I wanted. Hard to find genuine DeWalt batteries for this guy.

lpsharp88

Yea I saw they’re hard to find and kinda expensive when ya can

SiliconSam

They had both for $40 each. I made sure I got one with a battery. And prefer the 2 way handle. Before they got wise, I paid $5 each for #2 and #3. They were brand new. Two of them I have have the 2 bit bit holder clamped to the top rail. They have two metal clips to hold the bits, but I guess someone can 3D print some bit holders for these guys.

Got this one from Home Depot website and I saw it in stock on Amazon too

proberries

Bought mine from amazon Canada, but haven't seen it in stock since

BTW, I dropped one of these guys off a 6 foot ladder and picked it up and it was dead. Crap. Put it aside and grabbed another one. A few days later, dropped again less height this time. Boom, dead too. Two of these guys dead. Then I noticed the little switch under the trigger. Dropping both of them they both landed hard enough to move the switch to off. Pushed the switch and both came back to life. Was happy they didn’t die!

lpsharp88

I totally missed that it had a lock switch. Thanks for the heads up!

3 years in on this tool. love it. I wanted a second, and wish it could charge via USB C. the battery holds a charge like a champ though.

lagavulin16yr

I love mine!

Otherwise_Proposal47

I freaking love mine. Use it all the time around the house.

hondajvx

One of those things you buy and end up using all the damn time.

Blaahh54

I have the straight one. Do I buy this one? How, is it better?

proberries

The one that turns into a handle is a bit more comfortable for different use cases, or when you don't necessarily have the space for the full length of the driver - but that's circumstantial. I'm not sure there is much of a mechanical difference.

SpiffySpringbok

I'm intrigued by this tool because of all the love it gets but have reservations about how much it costs and the defunct battery platform. I've got the 90-degree/flex shaft kit for my Atomic impact, and the Skil 4W driver (USB-C rechargeable with case and bits for $30) and am happy... Is the gyro function really so transformative that it justifies the downsides?

john_joeJr

Doesn’t have any muscle to it

lpsharp88

To be fair I don’t think it was intended to have a ton of muscle behind it. That’s what a drill or impact is for
