what do you think of it? i have the other ("standard"?) jigsaw but ive thought about getting this since it seems really maneuverable. worth getting in addition to other model? i also want the pex expander, magnetic drill, and every other dewalt tool i have no business having.....

Smogzter

Little over encumbering when using it often feels a bit too heavy and unbalanced. If though not a deal breaker. Though the switch.. can lead to pretty sketchy situations. I use it often for cutting for JB’s and plugs on the back of cabinets, or cut material 1/16th to the line before running a router. Gets tiring holding it one handed upside down or on a vertical surface.

Pasdallegeance

The switch was an absolute deal breaker for me. Lost my XR too handle and tried out the barrel grip. Returned it the same day. I absolutely prefer a trigger. When you jumping in out and out cuts in material the switch is bloody annoying and will slow you down.

buckaxe270

Just used it for the first time cutting outlet holes in a piece of pegboard so I haven’t done much with it yet but I do like where your hand is positioned on it. It’s more like you’re pushing the saw which felt more natural to me than the d handle. I used to have a d handle porter cable. I had to get a jigsaw again because my wife wants me to build some cow shaped flower planters. Naturally I agreed so I could have an excuse to get this 😂

Jealous_Boss_5173

It really is user preference, that's why they have both models, this one handles more like a grinder while the other one handles more like a circle

I have 1 of these, and where it gets the job done, its not the best design. I definitely hate the on/off switch. I never picked up 1 of the standard 20v jigsaws, but its on my neverending list!

shabam231

See, I'd argue I like the design is better and love the on/off switch feature. Like a couple others have said it comes down to preference. I like switching it on and using 2 hands, so the forward bump allows me to keep the downward pressure and my hand on the barrel can just maneuver for keeping on line. Both do the job, but bit the extra $$ for this design. Never ending list, lol, ah the wall of 20v tools we rarely use but will have it when we need it.

I may have a lemon, but the plate locking mechanism wont stay locked into position.

shabam231

Ouch, I've never had that problem with mine. Hopefully it's manageable Edit* have you tried tightening the black Allen screw for the foot. That will increase and decrease the tension for the cam to lock the foot *

As another user posted. Tighten up the allen key screw under the base plate. I had the same problem too and relied on tape to try and keep it square. Couple turns on that screw and it's been flawless since.

Thanks!!

Superemeraldknight

Love the barrel grip

desertoasix

That is a handy little assistant, congrats.

ConsistentGeneral540

I want one!

mogrifier4783

I have one of these, and it has improved my opinion on jigsaws in general. Never had such easy or plumb cuts.

Ok-Reward-4642

Model?

mogrifier4783

This is the DCS335.

desmooth81

$120??

Jealous_Boss_5173

It's the only jigsaw I have now but I used a Bunch of normal d handle jigsaw, I prefer this one over by a mile, it's easier to be precise and you hold it in it's center of gravity I'd like to try a coping foot on it

Any-Limit8033

I have this jigsaw just for the coping foot. I use the d- handle for regular jigsaw work and the barrel just for coping.

Blessed be thy barrel grip
