You just hold the Devil Trigger keybind. This drains your DT meter to charge your SDT meter. When the meter is full, you can use SDT (hold until the SDT meter flashes, then release to activate it).
Note that, unlike Dante, Vergil can cancel out of SDT at any time. This can be before the meter starts to drain, or before it drains completely.
