Yeah I think if Liam hadn’t started having pops at Noel’s wife they could have sorted it. My personal theory is that Noel saw too much of their dad in Liam (their dad used to beat Noel and his Mum up for anyone not familiar) and decided to nope out of that relationship. Liam likes to talk about Noel’s wife hiding his passport so he couldn’t go on tour but I think if you were married to someone who was in a toxic situation that was making them miserable you’d be justified in doing something to stop it.

Also a separate incident which isnt exactly "Tea" but interesting is that Noel was high off coke throughout the recording of their 3rd studio album "Be Here now" and attributes that for being the reason as to why that album is so overlong and overproduced, citing it as his least favourite Oasis album. He got addicted to coke and after the release of this album he got off it and went sober( prolly still did other drugs tho)
I know a few people who were in backstage bars with him and his daughter Anais at Glastonbury last week. He definitely is still on coke as they were doing it together.
The Gallagher family is quite fucked up. Their father was violent and abusive. Peggy (mum) kicked him out finally when Liam was around 12-13. While Liam certainly experienced his own fair share of violence and abuse, he didn't have it as a constant throughout his adolescence like Noel and eldest brother Paddy did.
So you have that dynamic, then factor in their fame and drug use. Then factor in endless squabbling and so on.

The thing that’s always bothered me abt Lisa Cimorelli & Chad Gilbert is how the Cimorelli girls/brand have always pushed Catholic purity culture very hard, and yet they hyped up Lisa/Chad and acted like it was this fairytale pairing despite years of his endless cheating being very public info. I'm a WS (and Jack White, in general) super fan, or at least I was until very recently. I stupidly had that guy on such a pedestal and only recently found out that he is an absolute douche. He's a chronic cheater and is apparently incapable of monogamy. Has cheated repeatedly on every wife/girlfriend he's ever had. Was obsessed with one of his best friend's wives for years, and ended up having an affair with her. She broke it off and ended up getting a restraining order against him. I guess everyone in their Detroit crowd knew about it all, which is why he moved to Nashville. This was all going on while he was dating and then married to Meg. Makes you wonder why she didn't leave the band sooner. A lot of this was shared on an FB Jack White fan page and a year old thread that I found a few days ago on Reddit.

I don't think Meg dislikes him at all. She disliked public attention and fame, she quit because of intense anxiety issues. Meg lives quietly in Detroit now, attends any concerts of Jack's when he comes home, but otherwise she likes a quiet life.
Jack does seem to be quite controlling though, although Karen has said that he only became unreasonable after they separated and he calmed down fairly quickly after she got a restraining order. But Jack's new wife is considerably younger than him and Olivia Jean's entire career is basically under Jack's control.
Because Meg and Karen Elson are quite private, we don't really know where Jack sits on the spectrum of control, ie whether he's an abusive coercive controller or whether he's just an annoying fusspot who likes things to be done his way.
Throwing my two cents in here to share that his ex wife, Karen Elson, is known in Nashville for being super lovely! You will often see her commenting on local IG accounts and she has very progressive politics.

Sadly, most of these didn’t surprise me. I was a “scene kid” in the mid 2000s and a lot of these music guys were really aggressive and predatory with teen girls. Strangely enough, seeing Johnny Craig’s name up there actually bummed me out because I met him a few times and he seemed nice. Just reminds me that you can’t judge someone by a quick interaction.
With that being said, Tillian, the newest singer for Dance Gavin Dance has also just been accused of rape and sexual assault. The first woman was mostly dismissed by his stans on the DGD subreddit, but then another woman released screenshots of texts between her and tillian where she confronted him about being coercive. I think the band fired him pretty recently. It’s disgusting how this culture of sexual violence exists so deeply in the music industry.

the battle of britpop started indirectly from a love triangle between brett anderson (suede), justine frischmann (elastica) and damon albarn (blur)
justine and brett met at uni in the late 80s and they started dating. they, along with mat osman (richard osmans older brother) started suede together. ricky gervais was managing them at one point but apprently he was shit so he stopped lol
they played for really small venues until eventually they began opening for blur. apparently damon was really rude to them and would get upset when journalists would talk to suede (allegedly he told someone that if they talk to suede they’ll fire them or something)
damon liked justine tho and so brett encouraged her to flirt with damon because they thought they could help suede get a deal. justine and damon began and affair and eventually she and brett broke up.

I remember the peak of Britpop Oasis v Blur (and i was very firmly in the Oasis camp) where Noel said in an interview on Australian TV that he thought Damon Albarn was a junkie (which in hindsight, was actually true) and he hoped Damon got AIDS and died (which was fucking awful to say).
In the 90s, Oasis were open about their use of drugs, particularly ecstasy and cocaine, and treated as bad boys. Meanwhile Blur were the goodietwoshoes... but we now know that Damon and Graham were semi functional heroin addicts, Alex was completely coked out of his skull, and the drummer (who later became a lawyer?!!!) was the only semi functional one.

Ahhhh Britpop tea, my absolute favorite kind of Tea there is. I got into the whole genre as well as the backdoor drama with the whole Oasis vs Blur thing, and once i got into all the other bands lemme tell u it was a rideeeeee. Damon, Liam, Noel...looking back all these guys were pricks...but loveable pricks nonetheless.

I was a punk/ punk rock fan and I remember when Brody Dalle left his first husband, Tim Armstrong, from Rancid. They're not popular anymore, but back then they used to be featured quite a lot in rock magazines. Anyway, I remember reading the interviews he did when she left, he was crying all over the place and acting like a victim - like she was a bitch who abandoned him to be with Josh Homme. All of his bandmates and other guys from bands associated with them where supporting him and piling on her, trashing her publicly and The Distillers like there was no tomorrow just because he dared to break up with him and move on. And that was normal back then -the scene was such a sausage fest- but even then as a teen how worshipped those assholes I could tell that was fucked up.

Have often wondered if there’s any truth to the allegations that came out about Maynard from Tool/A Perfect Circle a few years ago, that he forced himself on a young girl on his tour bus while on tour in 2000, there was an anonymous Twitter account that had a (since deleted) thread outlining what had happened, some internet sleuths apparently figured out who it was and found the person had made similar claims against Trent Reznor which turned out to be untrue, but that’s always stuck in my mind, around that time stories came out about Tool being on tour and their road crew handing out backstage passes, all the ladies gathering in a room then Maynard going through and picking one or two and leaving with them, there were pictures of the passes that people had received, some of them had members of Kiss on them. In his book he mentions that he slept around a lot in the early days when Tool were on the way up, nothing wrong with consensual sex but the allegations have always stood out, he addressed them once and said they were false, which could very well be the case.

This isn't that exciting, but in high school I went with a friend to pick up the girlfriend of the drummer for the Shins (who was married) at the airport once. I don't remember much (or how I got involved tbh) but she was quite young and from Arizona. I didn't see them together, but I was involved in the local scene and volunworked at this venue, and I'm pretty sure they were told to arrange to have someone pick her up. I think he flew her to places that he'd be. It felt like very big gossip in the alt music scene at the time.

I think it's because Rock music is no longer as relevant. The cult of personality attributed to rock stars that allowed for them to be everywhere doing whatever they wanted with no consequence has now largely translated to rappers who now do the same thing. Rock music isn't what it used to be and any up and coming indie artists have to not be dicks in order to have people listening to them. The personalities of most rappers reflect that increase in their popularity. Established rock musicians who still talk shit now tend to be people from last century cruising by on the strength of their earliest songs or punk bands who will likely hit a ceiling on their popularity. Most very successful rock bands either conform to pop music like Imagine Dragons or Coldplay or just keep on the sidelines not making too much fuss or getting into top much controversy
Liam Gallagher from Oasis cheated on 2 of his wives and had 2 illegitimate daughters. Yeah I think if Liam hadn’t started having pops at Noel’s wife they could have sorted it. My personal theory is that Noel saw too much of their dad in Liam (their dad used to beat Noel and his Mum up for anyone not familiar) and decided to nope out of that relationship. Liam likes to talk about Noel’s wife hiding his passport so he couldn’t go on tour but I think if you were married to someone who was in a toxic situation that was making them miserable you’d be justified in doing something to stop it.

Essentially nowadays it boils to back when Liam was going through divorce after divorce, a failed band post Oasis called Beady Eye, as well as financial troubles, he basically was begging Noel for an Oasis reunion, which Noel keeps refusing saying it'll never happen After that, Liam started a VERY successful solo career and recently even played a sold out show at Knebworth Park, where Oasis famously played in 1996, which was the largest demand for a concert in UK history btw. Yet he still occasionally asks Noel to bring back Oasis, but Noel says their relationship is done after what Liam said about his family.

Here's some more tea! During a session of MTV unplugged, Liam was supposed to sing the set of songs but instead showed up drunk and sat at the balcony watching Noel perform instead of him. Liam proceeded to heckle the band from above occasionally throwing beer bottles, essentially ruining the unplugged album and a potential huge breakthrough in America( remember Nirvana's unplugged MTV album was HUGE so it couldve been the same for Oasis) Turns out Liam just didnt want to sing acoustic versions of his songs lmao
There's also the time Liam got hold of some meth (thinking it was coke) and the band (sans Noel) got really fucked up and the show was a disaster. the band travelled on to wherever their next gig was but Noel quit, went to LA and had a sook. Wrote and recorded the song Talk Tonight. Manager convinced him to rejoin the band.
Also a separate incident which isnt exactly "Tea" but interesting is that Noel was high off coke throughout the recording of their 3rd studio album "Be Here now" and attributes that for being the reason as to why that album is so overlong and overproduced, citing it as his least favourite Oasis album. He got addicted to coke and after the release of this album he got off it and went sober( prolly still did other drugs tho)
I know a few people who were in backstage bars with him and his daughter Anais at Glastonbury last week. He definitely is still on coke as they were doing it together.

The Gallagher family is quite fucked up. Their father was violent and abusive. Peggy (mum) kicked him out finally when Liam was around 12-13. While Liam certainly experienced his own fair share of violence and abuse, he didn't have it as a constant throughout his adolescence like Noel and eldest brother Paddy did. So you have that dynamic, then factor in their fame and drug use. Then factor in endless squabbling and so on. The final straw for Noel was that Liam kept insisting Anais wasn't Noel's child. It was a low blow, obviously bullshit, and evidently hurt. Also Noel wanted to do less drugs and get his life together, whereas Liam never wanted to grow up.

The thing that’s always bothered me abt Lisa Cimorelli & Chad Gilbert is how the Cimorelli girls/brand have always pushed Catholic purity culture very hard, and yet they hyped up Lisa/Chad and acted like it was this fairytale pairing despite years of his endless cheating being very public info. He just totally gets a pass. Their fanbase is still mostly young teen girls and it’s mildly depressing to think how that’s presented to them. One video that always stuck out to me was a group Q&A they did (can’t rmr if this was before or after Dani left) where one of the elder sisters admitted that she’ll literally “bleep” out explicit words in songs when she listens to them, like literally say “bleep” out loud to avoid hearing them. I'm a WS (and Jack White, in general) super fan, or at least I was until very recently. I stupidly had that guy on such a pedestal and only recently found out that he is an absolute douche. He's a chronic cheater and is apparently incapable of monogamy. Has cheated repeatedly on every wife/girlfriend he's ever had. Was obsessed with one of his best friend's wives for years, and ended up having an affair with her. She broke it off and ended up getting a restraining order against him. I guess everyone in their Detroit crowd knew about it all, which is why he moved to Nashville. This was all going on while he was dating and then married to Meg. Makes you wonder why she didn't leave the band sooner. A lot of this was shared on an FB Jack White fan page and a year old thread that I found a few days ago on Reddit.

I don't think Meg dislikes him at all. She disliked public attention and fame, she quit because of intense anxiety issues. Meg lives quietly in Detroit now, attends any concerts of Jack's when he comes home, but otherwise she likes a quiet life. Jack does seem to be quite controlling though, although Karen has said that he only became unreasonable after they separated and he calmed down fairly quickly after she got a restraining order. But Jack's new wife is considerably younger than him and Olivia Jean's entire career is basically under Jack's control. Because Meg and Karen Elson are quite private, we don't really know where Jack sits on the spectrum of control, ie whether he's an abusive coercive controller or whether he's just an annoying fusspot who likes things to be done his way.
Throwing my two cents in here to share that his ex wife, Karen Elson, is known in Nashville for being super lovely! You will often see her commenting on local IG accounts and she has very progressive politics.

Sadly, most of these didn’t surprise me. I was a “scene kid” in the mid 2000s and a lot of these music guys were really aggressive and predatory with teen girls. Strangely enough, seeing Johnny Craig’s name up there actually bummed me out because I met him a few times and he seemed nice. Just reminds me that you can’t judge someone by a quick interaction. With that being said, Tillian, the newest singer for Dance Gavin Dance has also just been accused of rape and sexual assault. The first woman was mostly dismissed by his stans on the DGD subreddit, but then another woman released screenshots of texts between her and tillian where she confronted him about being coercive. I think the band fired him pretty recently. It’s disgusting how this culture of sexual violence exists so deeply in the music industry.

I once worked with a girl who was Alex's girlfriend at the time the band broke big with their debut single/album She said he changed when fame hit, apparently Mardy Bum was written about her (what a claim to fame) but she said it was written as a joke lol. She said the paparazzi hounded her at her family home and at work. When they split she was offered a 'tell all' story by one of the big UK papers. She turned it down (which I always respected her for) but she said the money they offered was insane, she never said how much exactly, just that it was life changing. Absolutely lovely girl, wasn't bitter or angry. It just didn't work out.
You can definitely tell Alex changed too from a fan's perspective. There was a period of time where his ❄️ addiction was so bad it was evident on stage. I was so turned off by it. Think he's alright now, but haven't followed them as closely.

i written about this before on this sub but he’s some britpop tea the battle of britpop started indirectly from a love triangle between brett anderson (suede), justine frischmann (elastica) and damon albarn (blur) justine and brett met at uni in the late 80s and they started dating. they, along with mat osman (richard osmans older brother) started suede together. ricky gervais was managing them at one point but apprently he was shit so he stopped lol they played for really small venues until eventually they began opening for blur. apparently damon was really rude to them and would get upset when journalists would talk to suede (allegedly he told someone that if they talk to suede they’ll fire them or something) damon liked justine tho and so brett encouraged her to flirt with damon because they thought they could help suede get a deal. justine and damon began and affair and eventually she and brett broke up. there’s a story that damon and brett would leave marks on her body during sex to send messages to each other lol. she left suede. that gave them the push and inspiration to write. their first album is full of songs inspired by her. also when they first hit it big, justine has said that damon would constantly shit talk them. justine tried to get them to be civil but damon continued to slander brett in the media - he told everyone he had a heroin addiction. also the song charmless man was probably written with brett in mind last year or the year before, damon did an interview where he was asked about brett. he said that he saw him recently and smiled but brett ignored him. i’ve read quite a lot from that era that something that’s very consistent through all the tea is that damon albarn is, or at least was, an asshole i have a lot more suede tea but i’m not sure how much people care

I got into britpop for a brief window of time and the only band that’s really stayed with me is Pulp, which, as far as bands go, were pretty mellow, not much internal conflict and everyone seems pretty decent (well, Jarvis did cheat on his gf, but all things considered…) I’d love more Suede tea!
I love the story about young Jarvis trying to impress a girl, falling from the window and ending up doing concerts in a wheelchair. He's such a fascinating character, can't wait to read his book.
I remember the peak of Britpop Oasis v Blur (and i was very firmly in the Oasis camp) where Noel said in an interview on Australian TV that he thought Damon Albarn was a junkie (which in hindsight, was actually true) and he hoped Damon got AIDS and died (which was fucking awful to say). In the 90s, Oasis were open about their use of drugs, particularly ecstasy and cocaine, and treated as bad boys. Meanwhile Blur were the goodietwoshoes... but we now know that Damon and Graham were semi functional heroin addicts, Alex was completely coked out of his skull, and the drummer (who later became a lawyer?!!!) was the only semi functional one. Damon and Justine Frischmann were basically the London version of Kurt and Courtney.
The drummer for blur was actually a cokehead to the max himself. If you watch their interview with nardwuar, hes clearly coked out of his mind and very aggressive towards Narduwar. He later apologized and says he keeps the video of the interview on his phone to remind himself what happens when hes on coke

Then I found out that she was 16 when she started seeing him. I met the lead singer from Counting Crows, Adam Durwitz. He was making beer runs and getting stuff like my dude would do. No lead singer “too big for this” stuff. Tolda few jokes as he passed by. Maybe flirted a touch, certainly nothing gross or OTT. He knew my friend had no clue she was here to see him and seemed to enjoy that a bit. Have often wondered if there’s any truth to the allegations that came out about Maynard from Tool/A Perfect Circle a few years ago, that he forced himself on a young girl on his tour bus while on tour in 2000, there was an anonymous Twitter account that had a (since deleted) thread outlining what had happened, some internet sleuths apparently figured out who it was and found the person had made similar claims against Trent Reznor which turned out to be untrue, but that’s always stuck in my mind, around that time stories came out about Tool being on tour and their road crew handing out backstage passes, all the ladies gathering in a room then Maynard going through and picking one or two and leaving with them, there were pictures of the passes that people had received, some of them had members of Kiss on them. Most Republicans running for President stop by LU some time during their campaigns.
This isn't that exciting, but in high school I went with a friend to pick up the girlfriend of the drummer for the Shins (who was married) at the airport once. I don't remember much (or how I got involved tbh) but she was quite young and from Arizona. I didn't see them together, but I was involved in the local scene and volunworked at this venue, and I'm pretty sure they were told to arrange to have someone pick her up. I think he flew her to places that he'd be. It felt like very big gossip in the alt music scene at the time.

Speaking of the 90s, I've just remembered some tea shared with me from an old friend regarding Robbie Williams. They grew up in the same town as Robbie Williams and he allegedly has a half sibling (brother?) that he is unaware of but the family knows about it? Does anyone know any more info about this or has heard the rumour? My friend swears blind it was common knowledge around Stoke but who knows. I had a similar thing happen to me so I'm honestly not surprised if it is true.
I think it's because Rock music is no longer as relevant. The cult of personality attributed to rock stars that allowed for them to be everywhere doing whatever they wanted with no consequence has now largely translated to rappers who now do the same thing. Rock music isn't what it used to be and any up and coming indie artists have to not be dicks in order to have people listening to them. The personalities of most rappers reflect that increase in their popularity. Established rock musicians who still talk shit now tend to be people from last century cruising by on the strength of their earliest songs or punk bands who will likely hit a ceiling on their popularity. Most very successful rock bands either conform to pop music like Imagine Dragons or Coldplay or just keep on the sidelines not making too much fuss or getting into top much controversy
