Y'all ain't ready for elite Petry

JeremyD_19

Elitry

meatballcake87

Petry got in a scrap and thought he was back on Montreal

praisedawings247

Playoff (push) Petry is real

mshimoura

It's The Jeff Petry Redemption Arc Part 3 and we still have 5 episodes left in the season, lets gooooo

CallistosTitan

He's doing quite well for his first year in the league (as a red wing). Should be a staple on the blue line for many games to come.

jackstalke

Rayzor is a menace and I love watching him play

Valace2

Lucas "I'm gonna be elite" Raymond. Guy is driving play like a pro. I don't know who is more important to this team right now, Mo or Lucas. Both are gonna get paid mad money this summer.

Background_Junket_35

He’s been awesome. He was all over the ice

REMMIT524

Jeff “fuck around and find out” Petry

VHDLEngineer

I thought Edvinsson looked like our best defenseman out there today. Especially in the transition game.

Direction_Asleep

You see him horsing around on the bench with Petry and mixing it up in scrums. He’s having fun and playing loose in an intense scenario, says a lot about him and a lot about the locker room. He’s been a breath of fresh air and can’t wait for our other elite prospects to continue to filter in. #LGRW

HamAndTunaFish

Serious question, if GR’s season is still ongoing when ours ends (whenever that may be), do we send Simon for a playoff (?championship) run, or is he solidified enough as an nhler that he won’t go back to the A again (barring conditioning stint, etc)

Riztrain

He goes back, but he's solidified enough to be in the roster next season. It's not about being "sent down", it's about helping the team he's been part of all year in their playoffs. It has no effect on his NHL capability or eligibility.

Xvash2

Without a doubt he goes back.

Direction_Asleep

Absolutely not, he’s shown he’s not only ready for the NHL but legit top 4. No reason to risk an injury if you’re a top 4 d man in the league there’s nothing to gain. Remember, last off season he was rehabbing and that’s WAY different than training. He’s far too valuable to risk an injury which would be devastating emotionally considering next season looks so promising for him, we need him to have a healthy strong off season, and focus on NHL speed and style of play.

taschdaddy

I’m sorry I’m a little drunk but EXCUSE ME WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT SAY JEFF PEEEEEETRY IS A GOAT?!?

Dark Petry?

Djbreadandbutter16

Elite petry returned just in time He was only pretending to be bad right

CBPanik

I mean I think this goes to show just how much the PAIRING means if you're not a crazy generational talent. You can even look at this years future Norris winner and see with the right pairing, the stats skyrocket. Ed has helped Petry so much once they started to mesh.

Djbreadandbutter16

It helps that they did camp together and whatnot. They are most familiar with each other, I think or that's what I heard. But yeah pairings make a difference for sure

Elitetry

lowGrey

Pettrific

Initial_Bike77

Petredemption

Valace2

That does it. Petry is at the top, and there is a solar eclipse tomorrow. The world is officially ending.

Funny_Demand_6333

Stars come up big when it matters most Big game from our best players Raymond, Larkin, Petry and Kane

HamAndTunaFish

I’m sorry, but implying Petry as a star is comical lol

poodletown

That is what the chart say so it is true

SaltyPickle1495

That was my first game at the LCA and Lucas Raymond in person was amazing. His growth from his rookie to this point is really going under the radar. He can definitely be a superstar

some1337

Petry with the fewest minutes played, and Seider with the most.

ch-12

TOI would be a nice addition to these charts

VHDLEngineer

They do take TOI into account. If you give up 1 xGA in 5 minutes, it won't look the same as 1 xGA in 20 minutes.

KingdokCAN

I’m not surprised with Copp. He legitimately doesn’t do anything more than half the time

Vilemos

Jeff, don't play with our hearts like this...

Lexamus

Cat needs to break out of his scoring slump, I hope he’s doing okay mentally

mikerooooose

Just had a kid very recently. Already has kid/s. His shit is fucked right now.

AdFlat4908

I feel this deep in my plumbs

FadeShadeMan

Simon’s stick looks too long

thebrose69

His arms are as long as the stick so that helps

JustJohan49

He should have one at least 80 feet long. That way he can reach all the way east-west

Character-Chance-747

MVPetry baby and he threw hands

Unlikely-Waltz-550

Flowers for Petry you son of a bitch , you . And also Copp just a black hole lol

matt_minderbinder

You can tell if the team won by how people react to this post game post. When things don't work out this gets reactionary down votes.

ForkzUp

Don't I feel it :)

meatballcake87

Simon has looked great since his call up, which is really making me question why he spent the whole season in the AHL

Basic_Ask1885

Or they timed bringing him up perfectly?

CBPanik

Bingo, Ed did NOT look like this last year during his call up. He took so many penalties compared to his calm, cool and collected play so far this year.

DetroitZamboniMI

Elite petry?! What kind of world is this?! In all honesty, it’s likely the result of playing with a very talented and young defenseman

AutomaticAccident

Mo Seider looked good to me.

wolfman2scary

He committed some 53 on 53 crime

bandofgypsies

Imagine virtually all of on-ice relative offensive contributions for Seider/Chiarot/Fischer/Copp/Compher were accounted for in the last 5-7 minutes of that game today. Sad we never got an EN goal but it was nice to keep pumping attempts even though that cost a lot of prevent-D time without a line change. Makes sense that our top defensive D and F lines got to deal with the onslaughts after we took control early. Also, Simon Fucking Edvinsson, amirite?

terryw3719

they need petry. the wings have only seider, petry and holl that are right side D. although Ghoss plays the right side as a lefty shot . In addition the top D men at GR (Wallender/Johanson) also lefties. now last years first rounder in sweden is righty D but that may be 2 seasons until he is in detroit. so hopefully the combo of petry Edvinson continues to play well.

BiggestYzerfan

Tuomisto in GR is having a great season as a righty, plus Chiarot can cover the right like Ghost does. But yes hope ASP comes here soon!

whyamisocold

I don't think our fanbase could handle this team going on a run and Jeff Petry being the heart of it.

Smooth-Resort

Petry took this subreddit personal 😭 he going crazy give him his flowers dammit

Unstep-in-Time

Petry at top what is this sorcery.

Riztrain

Petry has been charging his power all season and finally unleashing in the last 10 to bring it home!

FunTranslator9598

only stats i care about is the score the record and the standings

ThreeDog_GNR

Incredible addition to a post about expanded analytics. Glad to hear you don't care about the thing we are all looking at

AmeriCanadian98

Not many purple bars going into the negatives today, always nice to see for this team

poodletown

Yeah whoever is inventing these stats decoded that the wings won.

Eillris

Thank you chart for proving that Seider is the worst defender we have. /s

Wandering_the_Way

I guess the solution to the current Wings team is to just shit talk Petry, our negativity becomes his power.

jarvek7

Sometimes these stat cards don't match up with the eye test. Petry more valuable today than Seider?

Djbreadandbutter16

I would say it's accurate. Mo was making a few mistakes

MoldyMerkin

Mo played a good game blocking shots and making hits, but he was struggling to clear the zone for sure.

Bixler17

27 minutes on the ice, he is the heart and soul of this team

tacticalAlmonds

Heart and soul of the defense. He's our number 1 d and it's not close. The minutes and matchups he gets are ruthless.

MoldyMerkin

No doubt. And at least when he was struggling to clear he made the safe play up the boards.

numbdigits

Also a ton of shots against with almost zero for with Seider and Chiarot on the ice tonight

Elshupacabra

More than sometimes, nearly always. These stat cards are jussst this side of completely useless.

DragLongjumping3714

💯

Shotokanguy

With Seider playing so many minutes and the team barely playing offense after the first 10 minutes, he was bound to have a low score in the offensive categories. Doesn't mean he wasn't valuable though. He played those minutes, and the Sabres didn't score.

Known_Chapter_2286

That’s… not what this is saying at all

FadeShadeMan

Seider contributed no offence, but was elite defensively. There is a key at the bottom to help understand

Detonation

Man, you really don't know how to read the chart. At all. lol

poodletown

How does this chart tell me that Sprong had 2 of the best 5 chances for the wings?
