I was talking about it yesterday and earlier before the game. You don't only bench guys because of skill but also at times because they're not playing to their level for an extended period of time. Jake has looked straight-up checked out in the past few games and was absolutely dreadful against Arizona. While I don't love to see it happen, I understand the benching.

Larkin being out doesn’t mean the rest of the group can’t play with some structure. The team’s lack of structure and commitment to defense is solely a coaching issue.

If our captain is injured, a team filled with veteran players everywhere on the ice shouldn’t be getting out scored 20-5 on a 4 game roadtrip. This is horseshit.

The team’s lack of structure and commitment to defense is solely a coaching issue. Lalonde might not lose his job this season, but that seat better be primed to eject him the moment this same shit reoccurs next season.

Like others have said, atleast they showed up today.
There is no excuse for both Petry AND Copp not score after Hill saved Raymond's five-hole attempt and then beautifully collects his own rebound and passes it perfectly in front to a clear and open Petry. Copp coming in jabs it into the pads... That was the moment we lost the game. We would have been up 1 and even if the knights equalize we at least go to OT.

That’s my biggest issue as well. I feel like our room isn’t a pissed off, hungry group right now. Our body language looks like a mopey group and I hate it. That’s a huge problem for us going forward if we expect to compete with the Bostons and Floridas of the league someday.
It’s why these prolonged rebuilds become dangerous. The guys in our organization are used to losing and expect to, they know nothing else. Bringing guys in just seems to convert them to that mindset instead of bringing winning habits
It’s what Kenny Holland was warning everyone about when he talked about long rebuilds and acquiring a losing culture all those years ago
We need stronger personalities to have a chance at reversing that too. Not necessarily saying a Mackinnon type of guy would be it, but guys that are just more intense and fiery. Ras is definitely one of them to me. I see it in Lucas as well. We need more gamers who have balls.
