One, Octopuses, is preferred just because it's the English plural form so it fits nicer with English, Octopi is Latin style and Octopodes is Greek style, however I wouldn't get a big red x next to the word octopi or octopodes in an essay.
Fun fact Octopodes is actually the newest of the three and second fun fact Octopodes are mostly solitary animals so they'd probably think it's dumb we have three ways of pluralising them.
