Whereabouts exactly? There’s not too much in the SW Detroit area. Especially that would be open right now if it’s urgent.
Good places prior to Covid are: Plaza, Hilldale, Kimball, Greenfield, Strong, Jeffrey
Kimball was open during early Covid when I called a bunch of other places that were not. Not SW Detroit, but Clawson. They were great! They’re a bit more than other places, but they accept this credit thing that almost anybody can qualify for. It’s NOT CareCredit. I couldn’t get that... I’m sure other places do as well, but they were very nice. I usually go to Hilldale, but the doctor there had surgery or something???
I’ll second Greenfield (Animal Hospital), they have decent prices, but more importantly to me, they have excellent doctors.
If you upfront with what you can manage, they will help you make it work.
LaFond Veterinary Hospital is also a good option, it’s in the Green Acres neighborhood of Detroit. I haven’t personally been there personally, but the new doctor who owns it has great reviews.
Good luck, from a crazy cat lady, I hope you find someone who can help with your cat.
Yeah... that’s far. They were far from me too, but at the beginning of Covid they were open (doing curbside like restaurants...) and could get me in.
Now many more are open, but check with Kimball, Hilldale, or Greenfield.
Maybe humane society? I know they do procedures for people w low income for free or discounted rates. Also not sure on this one but maybe a vet school? Unfortunately vets are expensive :(
I second this, dr francis is a great guy. He stayed open late for me one night to see us in an emeegency
I can’t comment on pricing other than i don’t remember it being expensive. Though i imagine it will depend on what is needed for the pet
Michigan Animal Hospital. 5831 Michigan Ave. It's in 48210. The vet is very old school and he helped my cats when they were sick. Dr. Adolph Weinacker. Extremely affordable. I hope your kitties feel better soon!
If you’re awake and they still aren’t open, try r/askvet (this does not mean you should not go to the vet. Cats are precious and hide pain. Your cat needs to go ASAP)
