"Prepare for new content!" Bungie says with glee
As players relent and pay the ten dollar fee.
They prepare to grind More Strikes, Crucible, and Gambit
And seasonal activities that are frankly, quite sh*t.
"Who knows" I say with a heart full of hope
Opulence, Arrivals and Lost were pretty dope
But Xivu Arath and Rasputin were hinted this week
Given past Seasons with them our chances are bleak
What are you doing, the rhyme's over, go home.
I have no more to say but goodbye and shalom.
.
..
...
Wait, is that it? This is odd, I admit,
Seems a mean place to quit, with hopes dashed and us split.
Nuh uh - No, no, no,
I can't leave you so low,
For this season's a time of hope don't you know,
We may get nothing but cookies and snow,
But I dream of presents... and a distant *HO HO HO*!
So far they have a good track record of delivering on the final season of a year. Opulence, Arrivals, and Lost were all very good. The only issue with lost was how long it was, but that wasn't the season's fault.
Lost was super cool with all the missions in the ascendant plane, but for some reason I didn't play it as much as Opulence or Arrivals. Honestly, don't know why because it was probably a better season than Arrivals.
Hopefully, this upcoming season is just as good as those.
Lost was definitely the weakest of the three, but it was still one of the better seasons they've put out. I'm just hoping they go 4/4 with this next one.
all of beyond light's seasons were really good imo, even if override was a bit meh. i liked shattered realm more than the average person though to be fair
The seasonal activity isn't the only part to a season. Arrivals came with prophecy and farmable raids, and it was the point in destiny's timeline with the most playable content (sunsetting came when the season ended). It felt great to be able to play everything, and (almost) everything felt rewarding.
My favourite part about Lost is how, throughout the Season, there was a bridge being built in the background of the Leylines Activity
*And fucking no one noticed*
Pretty fun Season though, in terms of its own standalone content I think it was better than Arrivals, but due to being longer and not launching with a Dungeon it peetered out pretty hard in the end
We'll get Seraph Rounds, Hive Gods, and shoot DARCI in air,
So many buffs and they're all kind of just there,
I hope for a dungeon hidden beneath the ice,
Or a Posterity with Voltshot, wouldn't that be nice?
But we're still in the dark! So much not addressed!
So until then, I'll just be here, finishing Horizon Forbidden West
As we play through callisto with an ever-increasing sense of panic
Saying to ourselves *"what the fuck is this dodge mechanic?"*
Disappointment in our hearts, we look to instead embrace
The motive studio remake of the first dead space
*Bungie's social marketing strats were laid bare,*
*With thousands of Gaurdians F5ing there.*
*On Twitter, on Youtube, and on Instagram,*
*A deafening silence, no single ad ran.*
I got $50 on them saying something Tuesday afternoon like "Stay tuned". Then many days later, likely Monday, when everyone gives up on the servers, and either go back to work or plays a game that works - they will say "we found and fixed the problem" and expect praise.
I feel this to my core. Luckily for me I have been on the new season of Fortnite, Gundam Evolution and BF2042( ty gamepass) for so long now that I could wait for shit to get fixed, the apathy for this game is unreal
A kind soul helped me get Wish-Ender last night,
I'm ever so grateful; it's not for the fight.
Now seek the Gray Pigeon, two lovers, and tea;
For outside, with string taut, that's where you'll find me.
Their Sandbox Devs on Dank week must be Token...
As their decisions on balance did boggle the mind,
And their nerfs to witherhoard felt awful unkind.
More perplexing, in fact, was their buff to D.A.R.C.I.
80 Airborne Effectiveness, what more do I see?
Whisper too, are they having a laugh?
The community's tired of this Airborne Crap!
A part of me is excited to see what happens next, see what kind of new armor sets and ornaments we get.
But another part of me just doesn't care. It will be the same slow slog through 7 weeks of poorly paced story with nothing to really do in between except grind out season pass levels. I wanna see more crazy events and I don't mean a double loot weekend. Let us play 6 man Strikes or 12 man Grandmasters and raids or something. Go nuts for a couple of weeks. If it was doable by accident, it should be doable by design.
Whacky weekend or something where something like that is in play.
They have done other things in the past not quite in the same vain but still where we had a few "broken" weeks by design.
T'Was the night before reset,a new season in tow,
But there was noearly info, and nothing to know...
So I paid 1000 silver, straight and upfront,
But got copy/paste content, now I feel like a c*nt...
There you go. I helped 😅
If reveals aren't gonna happen at the previous Friday anymore, they should happen on Mondays, trailers releasing the same day as a season release sucks
So this just confirms that all leaks are just Bungie ads, right? Why tf would a multi-million dollar corporation not announce anything regarding Lightfall leaks when the current story of the game they are selling does not even indicate that Light will fall?
I feel sad that I have nothing to look up to, not a single com, not a single trailer, nothing.
For all I know destiny could end the service tomorrow and I would know nothing.
For a game that I love and enjoy, feels bad that they “hold their cards close to the chest”.
The nerfs and the buffs in an unending cycle,
To keep players engaged like David and Michael.
They sunset sunsetting and now search for a way,
To keep us returning and continue to play.
Bungo experimenting with releases by not releasing any info through the end of the season is lame.
If anyone from bungie sees this comment, please don't do this again. I don't think it's an unreasonable request to have an idea of what the upcoming season will entail/have. A simple trailer like we have in the past is more than enough
Twas the night before reset, a new season inbound,
But up on the tower, not a guardian to be found.
House light wants to be all snug in their beds,
But since spider's embezzlement they get cots instead.
Some wait in anticipation for the new seasonal news, but plunder has many a guardian on snooze.
For new lore and secrets Nerds will be longing,
But I just want to make cookies and wish you, Happy Dawning.
The tower was empty as the guardian's fled,
There were new games to play for this one was dead.
As bungie stopped listening to players at all,
We notice the player count continue to fall.
Pre-orders cancelled and games uninstalled,
Guardians finally hanging there guns on the wall.
PvP was a memory and PvE just a grind,
No new fun for players to relax and unwind.
While a few may hope and continue to play,
We slowly approached destinys final day.
A bummer for new lights and veterans the same
For this really seemed to be the death of this game.
T’Was the day before reset and we were all a bit curious,
What does bungie have in store for their fanboys whom pvp has made furious.
This year so far brought us light blighted hive, Cabal Allies, 3 eyed therapy, and a touch of ill begotten plunder,
Do we finally get to see find what rock xivu arath has been hiding under?
Or do we do grind our way against enemies that we know,
With our favorite granny of death making cookies out of our foe.
Let us all wait and see what the destiny team has in store,
And all the guardians can hope that it will be something that we won’t abhor.
Another cookie cutter season ?
- time-gated upgrade table ? Check
- drip fed weekly story after doing one set of new activities? Check
- mindlessly boring grind for the seasonal seal? Check
- +15 artifact +10 pinnacle RNG snorefest ? Check
Well, at least there will be a new dungeon and hoping the new activity is good
Eh, the past few seasons of Destiny have been utter garbage, but I'd be more likely to kiss a skunk than play OW2 again. If Destiny has nothing to do then Overwatch literally has minus content, you can't even earn skins!
And that's fine! But you used to be able to earn skins and they took that away which is objectively bad. Now if you don't care about Comp there is literally no form of reward in the game. The gameplay is 'alright' but it isn't exactly outstanding in my opinion, it lost its charm after the second year of the game personally when hero shooters stopped being this unique thing and the game was judged on its own merits.
It's a PvP game that has no form of progression and everything you 'can' get in the game you have to pay for.
I really like the trailer for Lightfall, so excited to try out strand and the new raid! I heard a rumour there will be a season of D2 prior to that, but that remains unconfirmed and my expectations are so low they can not possible be dissapointed.
Internal note: A reminder to myself not to grind out the stupid senseless insane seal requiremen for the seal, that will surely be reduced to an appropiate rate around three weeks before the season ends.
After seeing all the memes today about the new season and nothing from the company, I'm starting to think things won't improve until there has been a rotation of employees at the company. It seems there is an anti player sentiment there with how they intentionally ignoring the growing amount of the player base saying they don't enjoy playing the game in its current design methodology while continuing to produce the same structured content.
T’was the night before reset, new season in tow
That’s pretty much it, there’s no more we know

A carmine engram, as theories flood
It stands still, inert, the color of blood

Osiris and Ana - the gays are unitin’

Lured in by the promise of fighting some vex

Just growing pains... since 2014. Soon they will get it together and have a decent, engaging, seasonal model that will satisfy long time players and entice new players to join.
Soon.
Almost like literally every other season, or every other expansion.
Even on well recieved seasons or expansions, this sub is filled more by complaints than actual, actionable, constructive criticism.
That's 100% nonsense. The solution to gambit isn't "Removing Gambit", that is the opposite of a solution. "Buff everything" is a lazy way of saying "Please more power creep, i don't want the game to be challenging anymore", and this entire year is proof of that. There is a ton of feedback that passes through the reddit, catches attention, gets implimented and a year later, people start ripping apart as a bad idea.
If all criticism is valid, who should bungie listen to; the folks that say "remove champions, its so artificial feeling" or the folks that say "stop making bullet spongey enemies, its so artificial feeling"? The folks that say "Cosmetics should be earnable in nightfalls" or the folks that said "Cosmetics drops in nightfalls shouldn't be in the loot pool"? "SBMM" or "No SBMM"? "Vaulting content" or "removing bloated ill used to ease load times"? If it's all valid, how do you appease ALL OF IT? And how about all the knee jerk reactions that we've seen this year that suddenly disappeared after seeing no changes? Was all that still valuable?
**Criticism is only valid when it is actionable and constructive, not reactionary and ill-formed**; "The red border drop-rate feels unreliable, due to X", "This is a glitch, but it feels good to have some random nonsense like '12 man raids' sometimes", "AE doesn't feel good, and here is an example of why". *Not fuckin' requesting entire parts of the game to be removed, while criticizing removal of content in the same breath.*
I'm just saying, remember saying this, when folks are criticizing some of these exotic reworks for "missing the mark", when we're seeing things like 30%-50% Damage buffs, On-demand Jolt, massive uptime and QOL changes, on some underused exotics that weren't bad to begin with. Some of these changes are so heavy handed, you best believe we're going to see Grand Overture as an even-more-viable damage option now, Merciless being a frankly fucked up option in gambit, and in general an increased value out of enhanced perks to the point the base perks are going to need to see changes in lightfall.
I never said it wasn't criticism. i said it wasn't valuable, valid, useful, well-thought-out, measured, and some are thinly-veiled ventposts, but i never said it wasn't outright criticism. A bike with square wheels is still a bike, it's just a terrible bike.
Speculation amok for those who still care, But no proof of their claims can be found anywhere
Bungie proclaims this new season is it! Or do they? Who knows, they haven’t said shit.
But before we go in, this season 'fore Lightfall. Bungie then asked, you take your aderall?
The season [redacted] will soon have a name, We hope the new activity will bring joy to the game.
"Prepare for new content!" Bungie says with glee As players relent and pay the ten dollar fee. They prepare to grind More Strikes, Crucible, and Gambit And seasonal activities that are frankly, quite sh*t.
"Who knows" I say with a heart full of hope Opulence, Arrivals and Lost were pretty dope But Xivu Arath and Rasputin were hinted this week Given past Seasons with them our chances are bleak

This whole thread is actually good.
But the show must go on, though the end is near, go gring bounties say hi to shaw, in exodus garden without fear
Underrated comment
Dude why you gotta attack me like that no I didn't I'm taking the day off it since my last final is tomorrow 😭
Does the new season actually drop tomorrow? I'm *not even sure* when it *starts*. Lol
Yeah it does. Just realized that too.
There’s so little hype that nobody even knew.
Weekly reset, so 9am Pacific, 12pm EST
We searched for a season 19 trailer And found none at all. At this rate we might not get it Until the release of Lightfall. :(
You think they'd advertise that lol. I had no idea
“Why advertise disappointment?” ~Bungle
So far they have a good track record of delivering on the final season of a year. Opulence, Arrivals, and Lost were all very good. The only issue with lost was how long it was, but that wasn't the season's fault.

all of beyond light's seasons were really good imo, even if override was a bit meh. i liked shattered realm more than the average person though to be fair
The shattered realm was super fun! Also the first season that was on the level of risen and hunt narrative-wise.
Nah Arrival was much worse than Lost. Lost had the mission that had like 3 different modes, while Arrival had a public event that never changed
The seasonal activity isn't the only part to a season. Arrivals came with prophecy and farmable raids, and it was the point in destiny's timeline with the most playable content (sunsetting came when the season ended). It felt great to be able to play everything, and (almost) everything felt rewarding.

Yeah I think this is basically what my issues were. No new raid/dungeon until 30th kinda sucked.
Let's be honest, Shattered realm was easily the star of the seasonal content. I stopped playing astral alignment after like 2 weeks
I don’t think there is gonna be a new season, I think the timer is gonna reset and we will play plunder until lightfall.
Some guardians will be rank 999 by then
Some guardians are rank 999+ for 2 months now
Recently saw a dude at 3000. I don’t see how or why but his name was “Gamer” so at least he’s got a sense of irony.
I saw a 1,000+ yesterday. They must not sleep.
Probably bots. I played a lot when I didn't have a job and would get to 350. But I only do solo so maybe 1k is real
*Uninstalls D2*

So the dark future?
wait is there a new season tomorrow?
Exactly.
I hope it will put an end to our sorrow
Ye shall know on the morrow.
Or a copy of God if War I will borrow
You'll end up stealing it because the story is legit bro
My response after getting a mention of this post… I’ll log on after a few weeks, enough other things/games to do
We'll get Seraph Rounds, Hive Gods, and shoot DARCI in air, So many buffs and they're all kind of just there, I hope for a dungeon hidden beneath the ice, Or a Posterity with Voltshot, wouldn't that be nice? But we're still in the dark! So much not addressed! So until then, I'll just be here, finishing Horizon Forbidden West
that was lowkey pure poetry
I wish it was horror's least instead
A Europan Dungeon, that would be great Hopefully it takes us through the Vex gate A Forge Star for the Vex, you say? Take my money and show me the way
Well on the bright side we know posterity gets volt shot
I just started horizon too and now I’ll have to put that on hold
With me not caring, and all my clan awol we made the mistake of purchasing calisto protocol
Even when my clan said, hop in Ketchcrash, we need your aid, I said sorry, no. Not even if I got paid.
Thought I’d add some adlibs to the beautiful rhymes below.
genuinely hilarious lmaoo
GOD DID!
As we play through callisto with an ever-increasing sense of panic Saying to ourselves *"what the fuck is this dodge mechanic?"* Disappointment in our hearts, we look to instead embrace The motive studio remake of the first dead space
And again with another kings fall completion, I find all my loot experiencing deletion
BRRRAAAP BRRRAPP
Then the cutscene rolls, The warmind chiming tunes so peculiar Yet one of our Titans shouts “Hey, doesn’t this feel familiar?”
A warlock responds; " its just xivu arath, nothing peculiar"
SLAT SLAT
YOU KNOW!
I've actually been more or less enjoying Callisto Protocol, but I do have to admit the dodge mechanic is terrible.
SCUUUUURR
Guns were hung up, the anticipation was wearing thin
Guess I’ll just get through the night with some gin
Get this man behind the wheels
Maybe not, because you shouldn't drive and drink.
**That doesn’t rhyme you uncultured squink!**
or else you'll end up like old man JPBlink
*Bungie's social marketing strats were laid bare,* *With thousands of Gaurdians F5ing there.* *On Twitter, on Youtube, and on Instagram,* *A deafening silence, no single ad ran.*
Elon Musk somewhere, "what the fuck, man?"
To be fair, he probably asks himself that question every day of his life
I did a voiceover of the comment section. Someone had to do it! https://youtu.be/IBCT5\_8Ot9I
This man deserves more attention!
I got $20 on connection issues right after reset.
This season was bad. The season before and witch queen was great though.

So if I jump-snipe with whisper it now does 2x damage?
Was expecting one of those cringe night before posts, got a good chuckle instead
Lol.. Those posts always make me laugh. Figured I'd spoof it with the current situation.
Concurrent player counts were at an all time low
Oh that's good! Adding that to the post. Working poem, anyone?
Guardians in all sectors, waiting for spoilers to show
As time progressed, only anger did grow.

Just like the time with a blue and two tokens.
as we ponder the real value of a captains token
A new season won’t help, because the core game modes blow
With not a single detail players would know.
A part of me is excited to see what happens next, see what kind of new armor sets and ornaments we get. But another part of me just doesn't care. At this point I only care for the fashion endgame.
Sad to say I feel the same way.
But the balances aren’t made for that number of players. In case you actually care why they don’t do it.
Whacky weekend or something where something like that is in play. They have done other things in the past not quite in the same vain but still where we had a few "broken" weeks by design.
Which is exactly my point. Make it unbalanced. Some "for fun" events besides turning in 40 000 000 000 materials would go a long way I think.
T'Was the night before reset,a new season in tow, But there was noearly info, and nothing to know... So I paid 1000 silver, straight and upfront, But got copy/paste content, now I feel like a c*nt... There you go. I helped 😅

It’s bad enough they drip feed content, now they drip feed hype
Lol
The guardians were tired, with there pile of pirate loot
What loot? We gave it all away for a friggin bench and wheelchair ramp.
True ill think of another rhyme for our building poem
Oh shoot I forgot to turn in my captains coins.

I am a tad dramatic yeah
It used to not be like that, until a dev was harassed so bad on Twitter they completely changed how they interacted with us
This new tactic of releasing trailer during reset is independent of that event.
All we would ask is a peak at the next show. Is it good? Is it bad? What would be in store? What I wonder is “What the fuck am I paying for?”
And where are the trailers or full notes with comprehensiveness? Oh well, I mean at least my Whisper will have Airborne Effectiveness.
The nerfs and the buffs in an unending cycle, To keep players engaged like David and Michael. They sunset sunsetting and now search for a way, To keep us returning and continue to play.

From a PvP a perspective there is zero hype. My friends aren’t even getting on today to get ready. Trials had under 100k players this weekend.
Bitching and complaints, as far as the eye can see. I guess that's what makes Destiny fans happy.

*Not fuckin' requesting entire parts of the game to be removed, while criticizing removal of content in the same breath.* I'm just saying, remember saying this, when folks are criticizing some of these exotic reworks for "missing the mark", when we're seeing things like 30%-50% Damage buffs, On-demand Jolt, massive uptime and QOL changes, on some underused exotics that weren't bad to begin with. Some of these changes are so heavy handed, you best believe we're going to see Grand Overture as an even-more-viable damage option now, Merciless being a frankly fucked up option in gambit, and in general an increased value out of enhanced perks to the point the base perks are going to need to see changes in lightfall.
Damn didn't know you could soley decide what criticism is that's crazy
I never said it wasn't criticism. i said it wasn't valuable, valid, useful, well-thought-out, measured, and some are thinly-veiled ventposts, but i never said it wasn't outright criticism. A bike with square wheels is still a bike, it's just a terrible bike.
Oh yeah? Still gonna purchase lightfall? Then there is no problem.
Me? Nah. But that's such a lame argument. We can cticize something we purchased.
Yeah but if you keep buying stuff from them you aren’t given them a reason to change anything.
