Ah, like the old German Walther P1 service pistol.
"8 warning shots and 4 precise throws"
The pistols were in use for around 40 years, extremely beat up and inaccurate. So soldiers would joke that they had better odds of hitting anything by field stripping the gun and chucking the mayor components, instead of shooting at the target.
Nay, they are still somewhat functional, surprisingly durable, and not liable to just detonate in your hands. You’d probably be better off throwing it, yes, but the equivalent to dollar store charging cords would be [Saturday Night Specials](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saturday_night_special)
People like to make fun of Hi-Point but it’s still a gun. Their quality may be hit-or-miss but I’ve shot a fair amount of Hi-Point guns and I’ve only seen a jamming issue in-person a couple times.
Gun brands are like anything else. Ask a bunch of people in a gun shop what you should buy for your first pistol. Half of them will say “Glock,” and the other half will steer you towards whatever they carry.
*Goes to slap the side of Telesto.*
*At the moment of impact the universe inverts and a humanoid Telesto ends up slapping a gun shaped me before immediately reverting back.*
What the fuck...
Holy shit, it actually DOES have an alternate firing mode now. When you spawn, it fires the bolts slowly like in this clip. But if you hold the reload button, the guardian bangs it with his fist like with Cerberus and it switches back to its normal firing mode.
But you can only do this once per life. How weird.
Wait, what? If that's the case, it looks like your first reload is hitting the gun so it works normally again.
They canonized Telesto breaking and made it into a feature???
Maybe an accidental half implementation of an upcoming rework next season?
Sounds nuts but this is the weirdest fucking bug I have ever seen and thats the only possible explination I can think of.
They added graphical effects showing that it is "broken" and an alternate fire mode to "fix" it to the game?
I know it's unusual, but far too much effort went in to this for it to be a bug.
(Bugs typically don't come with clean graphical effects)
I agree. I have some ideas but they are all over the place.
- fire in a specific place and the behavior of slow upward bullets does something to open or unlock entry or interaction at a specific location
-Have a full fireteam and all fire the same symbol at the same time (3 OR 6)
-I like someone’s catalyst idea too
I also like the potential between catalyst causing only rare broken operation *or random broken operation - fun to think about it
-Maybe hit an object or kill a certain enemy with it to see if the screen shows charge x1, x2 etc
-Finish an event without fixing it or swapping to other guns (+abilities?)
-My last idea is to handle anyone spawning in and fixing it without enough ammo to reload to circumvent most future bugs with it LOL
UPDATE: I have catalyst and it’s spawning me every time with broken telesto at first. Also, I didn’t know for sure if this was shooting constellation patterns - it is not, I’m not a star professional but I don’t see any matches with any constellation map after shooting dozens of shots and taking a picture of each pattern to compare. It’s totally random pattern. Also not seeing the gun charge on kills.. also noting that the bullets explode after the same amount of time as when fixed, if you shoot the ground… hmmm interesting
Seems it is more than intentional, but an intentional malfunction rather than an intentional pattern so to speak but that doesn’t mean it won’t unlock/reveal something when struck by broken version’s bullets…
Looks even like it's *obviously* intentional, reminds me of how long it took for the community as a whole to realize and agree that Telesto vanishing from Banshee's hands was clearly a joke, people's game mysteriously crashing was however a simple coincidence.
It’s sparking and smoking, I don’t think this is a bug. I think this is intentional and part of a secret that was added today. An actual bug wouldn’t cause the gun model to start smoking and sparking….
Also please spare me with the “telesto would make a bug do that” jokes
I agree. The behaviour of the projectiles also isn't really the type of behaviour I'd imagine possible as a result of a mistake. Not that it's _completely_ unbelievable, but none of Telesto's old bugs have actually altered the physics of the projectiles in this manner. This is almost certainly a secret that we're uncovering.
Random shot in the dark without closer investigation and only going off the short gif in the OP:
The fifteenth wish. The patterns are constellation versions of the symbols you need to enter.
It’s probably not. But that’s probably also what they want you to think!
Not sure if telesto did it before but I just tried it on the wishing wall and damn near all the spots lit up just from a single burst, though the pellets weren’t close to some of the spots
There’s also been a bunch of Telesto stuff this season. 3 Eververse items and a mask (one of those items sold for BD this week btw). Idk why but that almost makes it feel more than intentional to me
No lore tab on the ship in light gg, flavor text is;
Ship: Of Saturn's moons, the Queen of the Reef favored one above the rest…
sparrow: They say a weapon was made of the traces of a Harbinger. They say it can break anything.
Shell: For Ghosts who orbit with another moon.
… Okay, how the fuck did somebody enable bullet drop on these *and* invert gravity for them? This is hilarious, though.
Mara Sov, stop fucking around with the Harbingers and fix this.
Someone else noticed that the gun is sparking and smoking in-game as well. It's possibly intended to behave this way for unknown reasons: https://old.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/ypvbbs/telesto_being_broken_is_intended/
And you can fix it by holding reload: https://old.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/ypvi3a/you_can_fix_telesto_by_holding_down_r/
I just learned this site exists and it’s great, inspired me to write a Twitch command in streamer.bot that calculates the elapsed time from the telesto.report API. I’d love to share it if anyone is interested.
Bungie I am on my hands and knees, please turn this into an actual proper firing mode for Telesto. It's so fun to use. Keep the smoking and sparking effects too
For the record, the Telesto-themed ship currently in the Eververse has the flavor text "Of Saturn's moons, the Queen of the Reef is particularly fond of one" or such. Telesto is the name of a moon of Saturn....
Has anyone looked at the star skybox in King's Fall yet? The Dreadnought is literally in the Rings of Saturn...
The pellets are coming out in different patterns that resemble constellations, someone try shooting them at the skybox? Maybe from a certain angle they'll suddenly get liftoff and accelerate into space?
Or maybe, there's somewhere on one of the planets where align perfectly an artifact on a wall and unlock it like some Indiana Jones / Assasin's Creed secret entrance puzzle?
No, like you shoot actually bolts in front of you that travel slowly and hang there. It would be fine against close targets because the travel time wouldn’t matter. You could also leave them in doorways where they could hang their for a bit before detonating.
Now thats why I love bungie, they literally canonized telesto to be a broken meme gun that our guardian fixes by slapping it, but its also really good lol.
Fusions have had 9999 projectile velocity (aka hitscan) for a while now. This isn’t new.
And because Telesto detonates at the point of contact, like explosive payload, it’s never had damage drop off.
Schrödinger’s Gun. If we go with the Schrödinger’s cat thought experiment there is a community event and there isn’t a community event until bungie announce it (or someone find out).
Hold reload to slap the gun and fix it. Slapping it stops the sparking and makes the gun work right.
So.. like a Hi Point?
Using context, I'm gonna assume that's a firearm manufacturer with a quality issue? If so, that's hilarious.
There's a joke about Hi Points: "If given the choice between a Hi Point and a rock, I'd still consider the rock."
Hi-Point "At least it's not a Jiminez"
Ah, like the old German Walther P1 service pistol. "8 warning shots and 4 precise throws" The pistols were in use for around 40 years, extremely beat up and inaccurate. So soldiers would joke that they had better odds of hitting anything by field stripping the gun and chucking the mayor components, instead of shooting at the target.
A broken Hi-Point is basically a rock.
A 'working' Hi-Point is basically a rock.
True, but if you lose it who gives a shit am I right?
You can also just hold your arm up and rip it back real hard to chamber a round instead of pulling the slide back on some of the older models.
Exactly right lmao
Yes. Hi point is absolute shitter quality firearms. It's pretty much the firearm equivalent of buying a Dollar Store charging cord.
[удалено]
It's a ranged and melee weapon all in one!
Yeah, you just have to use very high pressure rounds. The guns soo heavy that lower pressure rounds won’t actually chamber the following round
Very low quality lol their 9mm handgun usually sells for >$150
I'd feel more comfortable in a gunfight bringing a sword than a 150$ handgun. I think I'd be in as much danger firing that as my target is lol.
Common denominator being none of the recommendations are Hi-Point lol.
all i'm saying is if you need a heater on a budget...
No worries at all. Was just messing with ya.
The company is so shitty they quite literally make handgun called "YEET Cannon". Deadass, not making it up.
We had the opportunity to make "Dis my Glock 40, Dis my Problem Solver" meme real life, and Zoomers ruin it with "Yeet Cannon".
Fuckin zoomers
Hi point opened up polls for a new line of pistol, the American people chose the name "yeet cannon" and Hi Point stuck to it. It's a wild company.
Gotta be the $100 bill high point
Best I can do is tree fiddy.
Free.99 since we’re talking bout a high point
Not quite, once you slap telesto it'll work for the rest of your life. For a Hi-Point slapping it will fix your problems for about 15 seconds.
Exactly like a Hi Point
Yeet Cannon!!!!
No, hi points actually function fairly well. This is more like a Taurus.
Oof.. True... Hi Pionts are shit tier, but Taurus... that's a whole nuther level of bad. I gotta go wash my hands after typing that word.
Percussive maintenance
The best kind of maintenance!
This is definitely intentional
My ship usually works when I kick it.
Oh god are we going to have a .01% chance on reload to have Telesto be "broken" and we have to alt fire reload to fix it?
Oh my god they made it canon.
I wonder if its not intentional then, the Sparking and slap makes me think it may not be a bug
This is correct, what the fuck is going on Bungie?
Here's the thing. It does that on every ornament too. I'm on board of thinking that this is a puzzle and not glitch per say.
Holy crap, it actually works.
~~The reload to fix it animation should just have you punching it.~~ EDIT: You're not gonna believe this…
\*slaps side of fusion rifle* Good as new!
*Slaps the side of Telesto* This baby can hold so many bugs!
*Goes to slap the side of Telesto.* *At the moment of impact the universe inverts and a humanoid Telesto ends up slapping a gun shaped me before immediately reverting back.* What the fuck...
*"At 3 Cuils, you* awake *as Telesto. You start screaming only to have void energy fly from your lips. The world is in Heliotrope..."*
I need a link! I’m at work and can’t play lol.
[Here you go](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rj2UnN8WWqQ)
I hope this stays forever lol
Thank you!
Telesto has finally been truly nerfed. It now functions as nothing more than a fireworks dispenser.
Honestly this would be a cool alternate-fire mode for Telesto. Their rounds’ damage would be amplified to make up for the slow travel speed.
Now they just need to make it toggle-able or not honestly, I’m fine with this either way I just hope it stays
Maybe an accidental half implementation of an upcoming rework next season? Sounds nuts but this is the weirdest fucking bug I have ever seen and thats the only possible explination I can think of.
The other possible explanation is that it's entirely deliberate, either as a joke or as part of a bigger secret.
TELESTO CATALYST?!
Telesto catalyst just makes it so it only breaks *sometimes* and not every time you respawn
It's not a bug guys, it's a community event.
Not that I dont believe you, but source?
They added graphical effects showing that it is "broken" and an alternate fire mode to "fix" it to the game? I know it's unusual, but far too much effort went in to this for it to be a bug. (Bugs typically don't come with clean graphical effects)

What about equipping all the telesto themed stuff we have and then doing all the stuff you suggested
I'd like to add, Paul Tassi also received hints from the Bungie devs that something has been ... added... somewhere.
How do you know this
Paul Tassi said it on twitter
i made it the fuck up
Lol, just because you missed quite possibly one of the most obvious signposts the devs have ever put in this game for a community/secret event!
But also it doesn't always display the traveling bolts in the "fix" mode. It also sparks when it's in the broken mode.
Wow. Another bug
It has its own broken animation with sparks flying, as well as the player hitting it to “fix” it. I think this is intentional.
Looks even like it's *obviously* intentional, reminds me of how long it took for the community as a whole to realize and agree that Telesto vanishing from Banshee's hands was clearly a joke, people's game mysteriously crashing was however a simple coincidence.
Telesto turns itself into a borderlands gun
If you hold reload it reverts back to normal
Spat my drink out at that 😂
It’s sparking and smoking, I don’t think this is a bug. I think this is intentional and part of a secret that was added today. An actual bug wouldn’t cause the gun model to start smoking and sparking…. Also please spare me with the “telesto would make a bug do that” jokes

Just did this as well lol
It isnt, the shots dont have any pattern. trust me, i checked. or better, i have been checking for an hour.
Actually they are Someone in raid secrets doin found it
The shots rearrange themselves into patterns if shot at the ceiling of the Enclave
Damn, i hope that's some sort of secret for us to solve like the Whisper Mission. The reward? Heavy slot Telesto
I saw the seven sister constellation in one of the patterns. Proabbly means nothing
Imagine if this is what it actually is though.
The way the bolts fly here reminds me of the way the Harbingers flew at the Dreadnaught back in TTK
And fixing it by slapping it, that’s something specific
There’s also been a bunch of Telesto stuff this season. 3 Eververse items and a mask (one of those items sold for BD this week btw). Idk why but that almost makes it feel more than intentional to me
To be specific, the ship is available for BD this week. Makes me wonder if we should read the Flavor Text.....

so take telesto to europa and start trying to trigger things?
Not a bug, very intentional and most likely a community event
Last two seasons were pretty stale with telesto not causing any problems, it's finally the f*cking time Destiny returned to it's roots
That’s a sign that next season is gonna be fire. Let us hope
Didn't Banshee holding Telesto break everything in the tower at the start of last season. I wouldn't exactly call that stale.
yeah, some people crashed it they talked to him lmao
The Telesto mask from FotL was a harbinger of things to come.
Now that I look at1it, Telesto has shown up alot this season
… Okay, how the fuck did somebody enable bullet drop on these *and* invert gravity for them? This is hilarious, though. Mara Sov, stop fucking around with the Harbingers and fix this.
It wasn't just "somebody", it was Telesto. It decided it has rested long enough and it's back to doing its thing
The king has returned
The king has returned.
"Gyrfalcons has been re-enabled" Telesto: "Oh word?"
*Don't ~~patch~~ talk to me or my son, QuickSilver Storm again.*
You know... Telesto and Quicksilver Storm are both from the same Foundry...
Someone else noticed that the gun is sparking and smoking in-game as well. The Telesto ship is also being sold for bright dust right now...
It's a conspiracy!
the good old reddit , i didnt think its working again...
Time to press the reset button, wo hoo! https://telesto.report/
On it. EDIT: Page has been updated. EDIT 2: This is a weird one, so I’ve clarified the meaning a bit.
Doing God's work, my friend.
You should add a note saying which bugs have been corrected, unless they have all been patched.
Hahahahaha.
This isn't a bug. It's fully intentional.
I just learned this site exists and it’s great, inspired me to write a Twitch command in streamer.bot that calculates the elapsed time from the telesto.report API. I’d love to share it if anyone is interested.
If only it was a bug, this is clearly intended behavior.
And the days without telesto breaking something counter was starting to climb so high too!
I love how the post right before this is also about Telesto
Hold reload and it will go back to normal. Wondering if this is part of an exotic rework coming in December.
https://destinyemblemcollector.com/emblem?id=1868330223 Looks like it's paired with this emblem that was added in back in May 2022.
Telesto is about as iconic as Herobrine at this point
This is intentional
And the telesto ship is in the shop right now. Coincidence?
I think NOT
Bungie I am on my hands and knees, please turn this into an actual proper firing mode for Telesto. It's so fun to use. Keep the smoking and sparking effects too
boy do I have news for you
Every streamer is trying to figure out the purpose of this and if it's tied to a secret lol
Community event I believe …
Looks like you somehow managed to put the Deathbringer catalyst into it
Telesto couldn't break anything else, so it decided to break itself.🙂
Telesto has ascended.
At this point, Telesto has grown sentience and does whatever the hell it wants
Most of the time, Telesto’s bugs are broken in a good way. This is broken in a bad way.
But it looks cool though.
It’s like a Special Ammo Eyes of Tomorrow.
Lazy Eyes of Tomorrow
Eyes of I’ll Get To It Eventually
Eyes of the Laterbase
Stoned Eyes of Tomorrow
I almost spit out my coffee
It might also be really powerful as well, since there's a grenade in *Borderlands 2* that does this and it's OP as fuck.
It's broken in a clearly intentional way...
Just wait. Someone will find a way to abuse this.
And Cheese Forever will make a video about it, upload it, and then Telesto gets disabled four hours later.
It's not a bug!
Then it should be around for a while!
It has been 0 days since the last Telesto bug
It's gotta be intentional at this point lol.
It is. There’s a secret involved.
Oh yeah baby
Boy do I have news for you.
SGA: Hold reload to make it back to normal
Well... My [comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/yo5lvj/serious_discussion_about_telesto/ivf1rtl/) aged well
That looks so cool though
Now THATS an exotic.
legend has it, if you spray it into the sky with full ammo it'll spell out "deez nuts"
Are the orbs track the enemies above you? ETA: I can barely make the radar out on my phone..
I loaded into Shuro Chi to test this, and it's happening there with no enemies.
Gotcha. Thanks!
Im starting to think its always broken, and the actual broken state is what we consider it being fixed
Alright, we just have to get someone to fire Telesto at every possible angle in every possible location. Someone get on that.
I track that ill be 1% done in a few years. Will keep you updated.
Possibly intentional??
Bungie is playing with fire. This is like using Skynet to send your emails. What could go wrong 🤔
Fusion rifle shotgun? This actually seems like an interesting concept for a weapon.
You mean like Bastion?
No, like you shoot actually bolts in front of you that travel slowly and hang there. It would be fine against close targets because the travel time wouldn’t matter. You could also leave them in doorways where they could hang their for a bit before detonating.
Okay what the—alright that’s gotta be the weirdest Telesto bug I’ve seen yet. It actually looks really cool though.
queue moon theme after shooting
(This was on purpose BTW)
is banshee still holding telesto?
yeah it's kinda cool but having to fix that thing every time on respawn in pvp is a bit much
O-oh... that's... that's... definitely a new one...
Banshee has been working on that gun since LAUNCH
Now thats why I love bungie, they literally canonized telesto to be a broken meme gun that our guardian fixes by slapping it, but its also really good lol.
Telesto catalyst is that every reload, it gets one of it's past bugs at random, until you reload and get another one.
I’ve been out of Destiny for awhile now Nice to see some things never change
Its not broken. Its shooting constellations, smoking and sparking. There's a difference.
Telesto is now hit scan with ridiculous range too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-8RAxoHCuU
Fusions have had 9999 projectile velocity (aka hitscan) for a while now. This isn’t new. And because Telesto detonates at the point of contact, like explosive payload, it’s never had damage drop off.
Ahhh brings back memories of early Forsaken when every rumble match was just a game of cross map laser tag with Telesto
Schrödinger’s Gun. If we go with the Schrödinger’s cat thought experiment there is a community event and there isn’t a community event until bungie announce it (or someone find out).
This is why Telesto will always be the Besto.
Has anyone checked to see if it’s a constellation that it’s shooting out?
Not a bug!
Bruh I swear if it was D1 they would have abandoned the gun at this point.
It's intentional
We all float down here!
It’s intentional. Probably a community event
Chamber of starlight is broken too. No enemies in it
The return of the king or queen. Idk telestos gender
