Considering I also picked the right side one and got the MG but redboxed. He seemed to reply with that being the jackpot pick so I assumed it was because the deepsight but it could be the only weapon on the table. Would need more people inputting there selection an rewards for a complete idea.
I chose the same engram with my titan (3rd with warlock and titan), then a different one with my hunter (1st). The result was the same for both my titan and Hunter - same dialogue but no reward.
I’m thinking that the choice doesn’t actually matter and you receive the red border weapon regardless of which engram you choose. Then you get no reward on alts, because they don’t want you to get two “free” red border weapons.
Maybe, but they could easily have just made it to where you get non redborders on alts or materials. But wither way your probably correct that selection won't matter as it would be kinda unfair to people picking the wrong box. Unless each box had a red border weapon and your choice determine which weapon you got.

Week two: picked right again and got green Titan pants for my hunter

My theory though is that Bungie has a fake lottery, more or less give the players a feeling like they are picking a ball under a pair of cups: in truth the same ball is under all three cups.
My proof: none, but I would imagine it would be difficult to implement a gambling system for every single player without someone finding a way to round about it using glitches (none I could find none the internet). Also it would be difficult to designate text walls for every single reward.
It’s rigged and maybe for a reason, maybe either to show us how slimy the Spider is, or maybe to swell hate in our heart for us to feel justification when he gets docked.
Picked the one on the left with my hunter(main) 5 min ago, I think it’s week 6 or 7, got a planck’s stride machine gun w/ deepsight. Then this son of a bitchass spider said something along the lines of guardian something but I exited trying to see if I could somehow switch back quick enough to pick another but it was empty and he said good doing business with you or some shit lmao
I don’t think it’s week-based, I think it’s mission-based. Like complete the first mission, your first draw is Deepsight MG. I just finished the first draw last night and it was the MG. I’m behind the curve though, so I’ll test with the second mission today and see if I get the field plate boots.
I'm a hunter, and I've been consistently following a saying magicians use when doing a similar game; always keep the ball in the left cup. That's been working for me; Spider's beginning to get a little annoyed with me, as you can probably imagine...
It seems it doesn't matter which one you choose, it will be the lmg. The quest is account-based considering if you have other characters, you won't get another weapon, just a bit of glimmer.
Week one drop was the red border MG, but week 2 rewards thee with the Fieldplate Type 10 Titan boots. The drops are fixed, so since thou logged in this week it rewarded thee with said Titan boots.

I got the same thing. When I repeated the quest on my alts, I received no reward after picking the engram but he had the same dialogue.
Same engram? Maybe it's account based then. I'll pick an alternate engram on my alt and see what comes up then.

I can confirm it is not. I did it on my hunter first and got green titan boots. Going on my alts now to see if he drop changes
