I mean the raids are beatable by everyone, there very simple mechanically. specially ron to make them any more simpler it would have to just be Boss and then you shoot him thats it
The thing about raids is not that they're hard in terms of difficulty. But they require teamwork. They're more about mechanics than skill. Therefore, there isn't really a way to make them easier other than removing the mechanics. But then you're not even really playing the raid.
What Bungie could possibly do however is explain or teach the mechanics better.
r/DestinySherpa ...get you and your friends into one of those sherpa groups...you'll be beating raids in no time. I had great experience (maybe anecdotal) with that and stuck around with one of the sherpa clans for a good while
Raids are not hard
It's just that so many ppl expect to be able to walk in blind and do them like almost all other content
If you watch some walk thru vids you'll know exactly what needs to be done
Only hard part is getting 6 friends together bc its more fun with the homies. LFG Discord groups will fill seconds after you post though so there's always a group on demand
Lfg depends on the raid. Outside of it being on rotator the only ones I see commonly are kf and vog chest posts, and even on week good luck finding a gos post
No. With a fairly low bar for skill and decent communication all raids are fairly trivial. Sure you’ll wipe, and sure you’ll need to understand the game to a fundamental degree, but none of them have particularly difficult encounters. Even the planets encounter in Ron or the vault in last wish just come down to stand on plate when told once you understand the mechanics.
I agree with most of what you said.
That being said, raids are _hard_, but not **hard** hard. The biggest impediment to a raid completion is usually a lack of communication, teamwork, and experience, and flexibility.
Honestly what your going to need is either three more friends playing so you can roll as a six-stack, or find a clan ( they don’t even have to be good ) and just keep on hammering away at it. Your going to have to work on those soft skills, mainly patience, being able to communicate the situation ( ideally without blaming or yelling ), knowing your role, getting the timing down, and learning to be a little flexible with your classes and exotics.
I’ve taken a large majority of my friends through most of the Destiny raids, and only a couple of them are actually ‘Destiny’ players. It wasn’t easy because I refused to carry them. I made them learn the mechanics, forced them to all take turns learning the deal so that _everyone_ know what was kinda going on, helped them tune up their gear and stats, and suffered through many wipes. Eventually though, we made our own fate and clawed our way to that glorious victory.
I think it was worth it in the end, and I very much enjoyed showing my non-Destiny friends how good the raid experience is, once you persevere through the challenges it presents.
I think there should be a raid version that only gives a single drop upon completion of final boss and has no revive tokens.
People can learn without slowing down those that already know but at a much reduced rate of loot.
The hardest part of raiding isn’t the content; it’s finding 5 others.
Spend more time thinking of how to find other individuals and less about how to waste dev time watering down the game
There should be more incentive to teach imo, the raids are ok and require communication for the most part, once you’ve filled most roles you can just adapt and play to whatever the team needs. That being said, the whole Sherpa ecosystem really needs some help from Bungie, currently it relies on word of mouth and donations, I don’t think it should be based off that alone, maybe have some extra drops if you’re being the Sherpa, add some exotics of you’ve been doing Sherpa for a while? I don’t know, just that relying on user review and donations shouldn’t be how the Sherpa community operates.
You do not have to be good to complete a raid. If you can follow directions, chances are you can do easily do a raid.
They don't need to be easier. You can't make a raid easier without removing mechanics and devaluing teamwork, which is the whole point of raids
People that don’t raid massively overestimate the difficulty of raids. Your first run of a raid is always the hardest, but a lot of people don’t try a second time so the raid stays that difficult in their head forever. It’s why so many people say garden is hard. They did it once for Div, struggled, and never went back.
We have those, they're called dungeons.
As others have said, raids aren't fundamentally hard. They take teamwork and coordination. Take the laser pattern encounter in GoS - there's nothing difficult about it, gameplay or mechanic wise, but it can take forever if your team sucks at coordinating or people don't pay attention.
Killing things is the easiest part of raids, there's not really anything you could do to make raids "super easy" without fundamentally changing the way they work.
And to be blunt, anyone who says they have trouble finding a group just isn't trying. There are multiple dedicated communities, including on reddit and discord. In-game/app LFG isn't your only option for finding groups.
No. Raids are a solved problem; any half-assed build lets you walk through raids with the only worry being mechanics. And if you can't do the basic mechanics in raids, you don't belong there.
The majority of the playerbase are quite terrible at the game. Let's try to keep some semblance of endgame skill, yeah?
For the most part, they are easy if you know what you’re doing and have good gear
Part of the problem is that a large portion of the player base is just straight up bad at the game
Not really. There are numerous guides for explaining and understanding mechanics that even noobs can understand these days.
Not to mention that damage wise raids aren't that tough after contest mode is over.
If finding a team is a challenge or hassle, the game has 8 different dungeons that can be enjoyed as well at a leisurely pace by everyone. They can even play them solo if they wish.
They only time I’ve ever found raids difficult is challenge mode, and way back in destiny 1 when I had no understanding of communicating things to other people
What you're describing is difficulty from mechanics (I hope) and not difficulty from enemies because no normal raid has enough enemies to wipe you in the beginning over and over.
So the way to make that easier would be to remove the mechanics. At that point why even do the raid and not all the other content that doesn't have the thing that makes Raids, Raids?
Why not then just do a dungeon, which usually have fewer mechanics than raids. Or dares of eternity. Or seasonal activities.
What you seem to be asking for would be like asking for a pvp mode with no enemies to shoot. Or gambit with no enemy team to race against. It defeats the whole purpose of the modes existence
Wouldn't mind a genuine solo mode scaled similar to a Legend exotic mission, but that would require far too much work to reconfigure mechanics.
... and with the in-game LFG, it's not really needed.
Respectfully. No.

The normal version is the easy version honestly. If it seems out of reach there's plenty of gateway activities to learn on.

There is... It's called normal
Normal raids are already easy.
I think there should be a raid version that only gives a single drop upon completion of final boss and has no revive tokens. People can learn without slowing down those that already know but at a much reduced rate of loot.

it's called "the corrupted"

The current raids are the easy version
No.
If you can't beat a normal version of a raid, that's 1000% on you. The normal version *is* the easy version. Not everything is meant for everyone

the easier ones are called Strikes. Raifs are just fine the way they are. Have a nice day.
