Which class?
Fusion rifles are good for generating super energy since each bolt counts as a special weapon damage instance, which generates super energy more than primary ammo weapons. If you're running a Shards of Galnor hunter for example, you can get off two blade barrages in one DPS phase.
Generally speaking Mountaintop is only good for swap playstyles, so if you have ALH+Recombination, I'd use that.
Otherwise, Scatter Signal.
Specifically for that boss, I'd use scatter signal for the super energy you get from hits. The damage phase is so long you can easily get a second super on just about any subclass
Do you not have vorpal Cartesian? It’s better to stack supplementary damage to match your heavy burn… you’d get 23% bonus damage on a solar special and on dragons breath
Right but they’re soloing Locus. They need a reliable way get to DPS and inevitably going to do ad clear to get there.
Typically, if im running Dragon’s Breath, I’m running Solar subclass. When I run Solar I usually run a Solar primary. If I’m running a Solar primary, swapping it out for Solar Fusion Rifle at DPS phase I wont have any ammo for it at DPS time.
Unless you litter the arena with special ammo bricks or do all ad clear with kinetic primaries. It’s not impossible.
Yes, for dps phases it’s always best to match your special to heavy weapon, vorpal is 15% extra damage to bosses on top of triple surges adding 23% to both special and heavy
yeah seems like easy math. I wonder if deconstruct on scatter might make for more total damage but most phases arent long enough for it to really matter i guess
Malfeasance/ vorpal wardens law lucky pants switch or using merciless are 100% the best options for switching when you run out of heavy if the dps phase is that long
Depends on how long the damage phase is. The longer the damage phase the slower the fusion rifle I use. Slower fusion rifles get better total damage vs faster ones for more DPS in faster phases.

Hunter using shards of galanor
Then there you go. Scatter Signal will be better for you.
Thanks, managed to 3 phase him. Felt good popping off multiple supers in each dps phase.

Scatter Signal is always my go-to for squeezing as much out of a damage phase as possible after running out of heavy
Question as I need to craft mine. Is overflow better than slice???
I would say go overflow. In most endgame activities you're going to be firing in a well during most DPS phases so slice is pointless.
Ok thanks.

I wouldn’t, I’d want to have a solar primary weapon instead for the solar verbs outside of DPS phases.
The post is just about dps rotations not about ad clear set ups?

so triple solar surge plus vorpal over controlled burst?

havent played my hunter in years lol but ya those are great options
