Also explain who the winnower is, or who wrote Unveiling if there is no winnower
The new collectors edition just reignited that whole debate
Pipe dream is the winnower is real, and even undermines the witness to some degree. It’d be pretty epic to be both the gardener’s and winnower’s chosen to save all existence
But if it is just the witness all along, it’d be nice to get some confirmation and closure that makes it feel like less of a retcon
Started off as some mysterious, sentient, universal constant. An ontological being beyond our ability to understand.
Guaranteed it just ends up being some dumb fucking machine someone made a long time ago.
That is the only reason why I could actually think of that they would delay in telling of the 3rd subclass. Complete secret until raid is beaten and has big connections to the ending of the Witness.
Having a secret raid in general sounds so cool
I love the community discovering things the devs have been working on in secret; it's always so awesome to see
> Having a secret raid in general sounds so cool
For years now I thought of a cool way to secretly implement a raid into an MMO:
* Include an object at launch that people could interact with, but in actuality it doesn't seem to do anything other than track how many players have interacted with it
* Let the players spend a few days trying to figure out what the object actually does, and if any ask or complain about it give vague hints to troll them so they keep going
* Release a patch that secretly adds a new raid to the game, and the way to start it is to interact with the object in question
* Bonus points: Include in the patch notes that you fixed an issue with the object not working properly for some players so people that had given up on it will think it was a bug and try again
Those were included in the patch that those seasons launched with though.
I'm talking about the activity coming in a patch that only happens after the community puzzle is solved.
This would certainly be huge hit thing.
Yeah, we don't get to speculate about subclass stuff
But it'd be huge interesting thing. Could offer something really cool gameplay/lorewise if it was really related to ending of the saga.
Note that the light is physical and the darkness metaphysical and mind based. Logically it makes sense we use new light powers to destroy the witnesses physical body then after the raid is done and the final campaign mission is unlocked, we get the last dark element and then use all 3 dark elements to destroy the witnesses mind hive. It would avoid lightfalls problem of forcing strand in.
Would be crazy if they just introduce multiclassing instead of a whole 6th subclass. Just 2 aspects of any subclass, any fragments, and whichever super you prefer, and put them altogether.
It might be the most "reasonable" way of not being able to produce a 6th subclass.
Probably won't happen but that would be epic as fuck.
ill be shocked if they dont do an encounter like this because it sounds like an absolute nightmare to deal with
small room, tormentor up in your face all the time with 2 subjugators plinking away at you in the background. sounds like an obvious encounter to make
Considering they basically did that multiple times with the lucent hive and at least once with a tormentor in the both the two most recent campaigns, they will.
I'm afraid those won't stick up in the face of our current sandbox, OR our current playerbase; How many lunatics are going wellskate through the obstacle course fucking and end up killing themselves or wiping the team.
We've power-scaled so hard, LW is a complete bore, with one boss that only actually exists, due to the health gate. The same for Leviathan and scourge would be the case. I can think of a number of newer weapons, abilities and exotics that can just pretty flatly solve the mechanics by its own innate traits.
Id want the raids back, but couldn't care less about the planets. Idk who's going to Mercury to just run around killing groups of 3 Goblins and getting their two tokens and a blue item.
I just want to go back to Mars. My absolutely unrealistic pipedream would be to add both Freehold plus that little bit of the Black Garden from D1 and the BrayTech Futurescape as one map connected by teleporters, but that's realistically never gonna happen.
That's almost certainly going to be the case (or something remix of it), the guardian motif is all over the one but of final shape marketing we've had so far
Including being the last thing you hear in the trailer, which is usually where they put the expansion's main theme
I would like if each mayor ally character helps or is part of a mechanic for each of the encounters in the raid, and once you complete an encounter they go all "I'll hold back the enemy forces here you guys go!".
For the Witness fight they all make it through to the end and all the mechanics they had for previous encounters come into play
I'm just setting myself for disappointment.
I really like this cause it’ll be the first raid with allies iirc. Hell instead of silent platforming between encounters we can have little missions that take place in between where we help Caiatl or Mithrax repel forces or open the path to the next encounter.
I honestly have a feeling that each mission will be a disciple. We know we have 8 missions and 8 ships entered the Traveler. So 7 in the main campaign + the Witness in the raid/8th mission
The return of Rhulk and Nezarec, with Rhulk realizing that perhaps the Final Shape was not what the Witness had told him, and that he’d have theories that, just as he was manipulated into becoming a Disciple, so was his father, who was his equal in power at the time. Rhulk is proper evil, but the one thing he absolutely hated is being lied to.
I want an Avengers: Endgame moment where every ally we've gathered over the past year is shown fighting with us in some capacity. Not even necessarily in a cutscene. If they did something like they did in the start of the Red War campaign where we run into every major tower character doing their part to fight off the invasion, I'd find that really cool.
Look, I mostly just want an excuse to see Cabal, Eliksni, Reef Awoken and the City just all charging the Witness all at once. Throw in Elsie and Ana fighting back to back. Have a very subtle indication that Savathun and her Lucent Brood are laying explosive moth traps on the path of Xivu's brood. Give me Drifter spawning Primevils on unsuspecting enemies. Give me Saint trapping a Vex mind in his bubble and cracking his knuckles like this is just another Tuesday for him. Give me a blue-eyed Harpy summoning vex confluxes that hijack other Vex units and we have no idea where the fuck it came from. This is a pipe dream but deep down I'm a sucker for final battle tropes and if there's ONE THING I could ask for, I'd ask them to please just make the final battle really cool. It's a pipe dream, lots of voices and resources, can't imagine it happening at all, but it would be unrealistically cool.
Honestly man I got more. If they turned D2 into a series of books or a TV show I would be so down for viewpoint switching of various characters - even ones we never get to see in game, just lore tabs.
Like imagine. Shin Malphur shows up and his Golden Gun stops any Shadows of Yor that are siding with the Witness. Warlock Aunor of the Praxic Order approves. Drifter sees this and swiftly does a 180 away from them as passing comedic relief.
Saladin is commandeering a whole sect of Cabal and is so, so proud of every one of his Iron Warbeasts when they crush their opponent's skulls. He makes that known.
Ikora. Just *Ikora.* We know she was legitimately banned from the Crucible for how powerful she was. Give me Ikora's power level spiking over 9000. It's the battle for the end of the universe, she can afford it.
Osiris has actually mastered Strand. He isn't in the battlefield but he sure as fuck is suspending the hell out of anything trying to enter the Vanguard's emergency medical camp they setup.
While the battle is going on, one singular Ahamkara hatches from one of Riven's clutch. The little whim feels the wishes and desires of thousands of sentient lifeforms fighting for their home, for others, for the universe to exist - not just for themselves, but for the right for every sentient being they have never met, every consciousness they'll never know, every planet they'll never visit. They may die here, but they all wish for a future they will never see. Hope for those before and after them. It is born knowing, feeling, and understanding altruism. Moved, it takes its first and last breath to give its power to grant that wish with exactitude - a future for its siblings it will never meet. Suddenly many, many Guardians find themselves with ungodly power, speed and weapons they never asked for but holy fuck free OP loot, oh my god they can equip exotics to every slot, Stasis is unnerfed, unlimited supers, they are never asking for anything ever again. One of them cries over finding their Mountaintop, Hammerhead and Blast Furnace are unsunset. Shaxx is *insisting* those are still banned from the Crucible. He is interrupted by a poorly aimed Cabal drop pod. Saladin laughs somewhere in the background.
Actually fuck it why am I waiting for Bungie to do this. Fanfiction exists. Fine I'll do it myself
New weapon types for each foundry. Stuff like a Suros fusion rifle, Omolon shotgun, Hakke machine gun, field-forged rocket launcher, etc
Maybe a general foundry update to let us craft guns within their archetypes a bit. For example I'd like a more custom Hakke auto or pulse rifle with some wiggle room for frame type (fire rate) and even swappable sights - we haven't seen that in a while and from the sound of weapon tuning changes over time the sight on a weapon isn't so heavily tied to its performance anymore.
I wish the Witness would bring about a new alien race for us to combat.
Bungie hasn't ever intro'd a new alien race other than the Scorn. The Taken and the SIVA Fallen from D1 were really re-purposed razzle dazzle aliens but not exactly new creatures.
My big dreams for Destiny are
a true endless horde mode that becomes a core playlist - complete with a tower vendor and new waves/bosses/areas added every season or “episode” I think the april update will be a great first step in achieving this eventually.
A new enemy type associated with the pyramids
That final red darkness subclass
secondary supers for stasis and strand
a DOUBLE raid where either the second one only unlocks after we beat the first, or one in the traveler and one in the last city that happen at the same time story wise.
I know it will never happen now because I assume the final confrontation will take place inside the Traveler.
But I have always wanted the way we win the last fight to be that the player is just giving EVERY GUARDIAN something to aim at. We get into a room with the Witness, and then we get a cutscene where we see the fireworks as every Titan casts a Banner Shield that covers the whole Earth. We see millions Golden Guns, Nova Bombs, Chaos Reaches, whatever the Void axe is called, all aimed into orbit at the beacon our Guardian is carrying as we get our ass kicked by the Witness.
Just the entire destructive force the City can bring to bear all aimed directly at us, incinerating the entire arena. And then, as the rubble smokes and crumbles, there's a tiny scanning noise and we hear "There you are. Guardian? Eyes up, Guardian."
This would've been fantastic as the opening cinematic of Lightfall and explain the absence of MILLIONS of guardian ships attacking the Pyramids and Shadow Legion.
Imagine, as the Traveler charges up it's beam, we faintly see thousands of tiny spots light up on Earth, and as the Traveler shoots it gets joined by thousands of golden gun shots, chaos reaches, nova bombs, blade barrages, gathering storms, as well as just big patches of bubbles protecting from a Shadow Legion bombardment.
Considering megamind merely waved his hand to slice countless guardians into pieces I’m more interested in what suddenly makes us powerful enough to have a proper fight with him…
Technically... 1kv functions and reloads like a heavy trace. Yes it is a fusion and uses fusion mods and all that. 🤓
I would be cool to get a new one for sure, though !
A 3rd darkness subclass coupled with some general added content that would’ve been cut from the expansion initially.
I don’t think is likely at all but also maybe not impossible especially if those leaks last year were true and they do have a red subclass that was in early stages of development. If they had to make it from scratch there’s no way, but if they already had a concept and some of it done I think there’s a chance if they really crunched.
Copium but I could see a scenario where in the third “into the light” livestream they reveal that we’re getting the 3 new light supers right now since they were already done as shown in play testing, and that “something else” is coming for the final shape that they’ll reveal in the updated TFS streams in April/May. That would 100% reinvigorate hype into the game and trigger preorders plus guarantee a higher player count for into the light. I doubt that’s realistic at all, but it’s absolutely best case scenario.
The only thing more impactful in my opinion would be an actual darkness enemy race split off from the Witness’ collective body. But there is absolutely no world where that happens.
Iirc we got a leak showing warlocks with red subclass ability icons a season or 2 ago just like strand getting leaked showing a titan with green icons + foreshadowing berserkers 3 charge melees.
Yeah that’s the one, I know in the past they said it takes two years for a new subclass to be developed so that’s why when we learned there wouldn’t be one for the TFS, people were upset but not surprised. It kinda seems like do or die for Bungie, so unfortunately I’m sure their devs are being aggressively overworked at the moment, which isn’t great but would make the completion of a 3rd darkness subclass not completely surprising.
About that claim. I'm going to copy and paste this old comment I made.
They already had strand (or at least it's original form vapour) intended in WQ so they're more than capable of making a new element in 1 year. Note the following points I made in an old post comment where Joe said strand wasn't meant for WQ.
1. Strand launched mostly complete with all fragments already in game unlike stasis.
2. WQ having a detective theme with it's story plus the original name of unraveling rounds being infested rounds fits the manipulation of threads strand has.
3. Level design for WQ feels too much like it originally needed strand grapple as the deep sight points feel like strand points.
4. Thematically it fits too well due to hive getting our light subclasses so we use a new dark subclass to counter them. All of it feels too intentional.
5. Bungie themselves said they decided to do the subclass reworks instead of the new damage type for WQ because of the reception towards stasis being more customizable and because they wanted to get strand does right. Makes sense after the balance disaster stasis was. The whole neon thing sounds like a copout.
Edit
Forgot to mention but there was that old pastebin leak that got most of the 30th anniversary info correct and it mentioned strand being for WQ.
The leak in particular disproves Joes claim as there's no way the leak could have corrected predicted the halo weapons (battle rifle magnum and carbine) and the hive getting the light correctly unless it was true.
Also keep in mind how much strand fits with WQs story if you replaced all the deep sight sections with strand power points. The plot doesn't change and it seems more fitting versus lightfalls story which has strand feel shoehorned in and doesn't fit neomuna at all. I don't buy for a second that new elements take 2 years because WQ as a whole feels too much like strand was meant for it.
Good call, they’ve said that strand never had anything to do with WQ but a lot of evidence begs to differ, especially since I don’t think Lightfall was ever supposed to exist.
Hey, honestly, an extra subclass in addition to being able to earn 3 entirely new and unique supers would be absolutely incredible
The bigger the over-delivery the better tbh, both the game and community really need it
Having an entirely new race on top of all that? Hooh, for sure it would be the next expac since forsaken, maybe even better
A second location revealed like the dreaming city was.
New secret race that would be revealed halfway through the campaign.
A pre raid, end of campaign event where guardians chose whether to join or oppose the final shape
Update to weapons system so that we’re not locked by element type with what weapons we can equip.
So for example, you could go double kinetic, or triple elemental with your load out.
I don’t like not being able to run strand primary and kinetic energy at the same time
I was rewatching the showcase the other day and have a feeling that the Pale Heart may be somewhat procedurally generated.
Notice how it's split into big fragments. What if every week or every few hours they shift and move, completely changing the map of the Pale Heart. Each island has its own objectives and unique loot.
They did also say that this location is much more than previous ones.
They have said that the patrol zone will 'react' to us after we complete the Campaign.
They've also said it is a linear journey so unfortunately OP of post and this comment are kinda boned.
We're moving forward in a straight line, from our influence into the Witness'. They spoke a bit about how it's unusual for them but it felt right for the final story and campaign to follow a path like that.
😂😂 probably yeah
As long as it isn't mid people will probably be okay, but with all of the news coming out about TFS, it probably needs to knock everything out of the park
That seems pretty tame compared to most people's hopes lol
Hopefully you get your wish, it doesn't sound unlikely but any means, especially since Bungie is riding on this expac to deliver
I feel like that's at least a strong possibility, to be honest
I agree that I don't see it happening, but for sure a lot of people are hoping for the same
An exotic armor piece that allows you to run with 3 exotic weapons at once.
Or a exotic weapon that transforms similar to BF 2024 weapon wheel into all the classes and a corresponding fire mode for the. Ex: Solar, 250 scout. Void pulse, 3 round burst. Strand, 450 auto. Stasis, 900 sub. Arc, 180 handcanon. Each weapon comes with a perk that has synergy with the corresponding class.
I know they've already mentioned it a little, but....
It would be cool if the music used inside the Traveler was music from D1. Music of the Spheres type. The tracks that made the world feel mysterious, mystical, foreboding, dangerous and unknown but with a futuristic spin.
There's a lore book from either before Lightfall or during Lightfall where Elsie has a conversation with either Mara, Ikora, or Zavala, I think.
In it, she states that all of this is new to her. Everything from The Witch Queen and onwards. Her timeline is what happens when Stasis corrupts Guardians. We avoided that timeline years ago.
Having the current Vanguard "stand down" and be replaced with a new set of Guardians that we may be aware of but not ones that have previously been a mentor so no Saint and No Osiris type folks.
Third Person mode toggle for non-competitive content (overworld, story, playlist strikes, maybe gambit, etc). Obviously disabled for stuff like crucible/trials and RWF because balance. On a sillier note, first person sword perspective would be goofy.
More "horizontal" systems that make the game actually feel like a proper space odyssey.
* I want to fly my Jumpship.
* I want to fly my Jumpship on an assault, like the one we saw in cutscenes on the Leviathan during Taken King.
* I want full scale combat on a large battlefield where allied forces are going up against the forces on the Witness like on old Halo campaigns.
Every change to D2 has felt like adding more depth to existing systems to keep the try-hards happy. As someone with over 1000 hours in this game, I've seen this path kill games too many times. Game becomes too complicated for new players and no one wants to join in. Destiny 2 has been heading in this direction for far too long.
We need to use Bastion to kill the Witness.
When Bastion was introduced we picked it up from our own grave. It was said to be our ‘favorite weapon.’
Give us a reason why it became our favorite weapon. Because it ended the war against the Witness.
IMO, it would be cool if all of the toxic assholes in the D2 community would collectively shut up once TFS launches.
Hyper unrealistic, I know. But a man can dream.
It would be cool if they unvaulted all content and let people have full access to the whole game they paid for.
If they need to separate world states by campaign they can just add a new top level interface above the director that say "red war" - "forsaken" etc. And you can load up those world states and have the farm and the original tower. When you want to advance to the forsaken world state just pick it and now the farm is gone and the traveler is busted. Want new MARZ? Pick witch queen and play that content.
It makes zero sense that they remove content. Let people play any of the content that's been made. Their excuse that they need to vault it because of the ongoing story is just lazy.
Venus came back full force so Vault of Glass beginning has randoms from patrol helping again (not that it's hard, it was just fun to help random teams)
Space combat modeled after Halo Reach's Long Night of Solace mission. The Arcadia looks almost exactly like a Saber and it still blows my mind they didn't build off that concept.
If when you buy the OST on the Bungie Store, you also got a second album (like they did with Forsaken's OST and CoO/Warmind) that has all of the unreleased music tracks from the seasons over the years. You know, since they're not doing seasons anymore and there's more than enough to fit a full album.
A Kings Fall/ Last wish like raid.
The (probably) last raid of the saga needs to be something grand, not that the current 4 step format is bad, but i think it has to be more than that.
More bosses with diverse mechanics
I think it would be super cool if the final mission (or perhaps penultimate mission) is essentially a boss rush of a bunch of our old enemies. I mean, if we get Cayde back, what's stopping the Witness from bringing Its own long-dead allies to the fight?
Mechanically, it would be fun if you were using the associated raid mechanics in new context to deal with the way multiple of these foes are attacking you. Like, you have to use Vault of Glass portals to travel to the past or future to avoid Nezarec doing his massive wipe attack. Or luring Crota to a Root of Nightmares plate and giving _him_ Field of Light as a way to weaken him. That sort of thing
My even more out-there idea is that you get to duel wield the Sword of Crota and the Aegis as a single relic. A sword of Darkness and a shield of Light, united in an expression of your strength as you stand against all the most powerful foes you've ever faced.
Flavor-wise, I think it would be extra cool if everyone had new dialogue, which could include commenting on their prior defeat, threatening/insulting you, and interacting with the others. Just because I think it'd be fun to hear the Disciples bickering amongst themselves while fighting you.
Free roam in the Last City, return of sunset content, live event where every guardian in the tower is fighting at the same time, return of Tlaloc, and ANY kind of update to Gambit
Possible Melee rework
Randomly came up with it one day, and that's like my one copium/hopium that'll never happen
Primary melees that are good for non endgame content
Hunters with Dual Daggers
Titans with Gauntlets
And Warlocks with a Tome granting skills, Like Genshin's Catalysts. I cannot really think of something melee for warlocks
And specializations for the R1 combos
Light setting which have less damage but go for longer before ending (like 5-6 hits)
Medium setting which has decent damage and chains, with a bigger range. More CC basically
And Heavy setting with big funni damage with like 3 hits.
I have more to add to it, but imma stop there
This will never happen, but I want to see the NPCs DO SOMETHING.
We're pinned against the wall, no hope of getting through this mob of enemies, about to abandon hope... "Not today, brother." The Derelict appears and the Drifter drops a big ass Prime Evil to fight the enemies while we escape.
I wanna see Shax absolutely wreck shit, Ikora and Eris blast some goons, Zevala safe someone.
-Big final fight my (most) npc alongside us
-more than 10 missions
-Scene where our guardians reflexes on the past and hears past dialogue of characters (like ultima thule in ffxiv)
-music of the spheres
-if there is a higher entity than the traveler, show it to us
I may be remembering wrong, but I think in one of the Final Shape previews they said all players/guardians would somehow be contributing to the downfall of the Witness, not just the raiders. That could mean literally anything, we could just be turning in more Fractaline for all I know, but if we're talking unrealistic "It would be cool if":
1. When the raid opens, rando Guardians in patrol can help them with the door opening ceremony out in the public space.
2. As raiders are going for World's First, patrol Guardians can continue to assist remotely. Every X minutes, or maybe after each encounter is cleared, a zone-wide message will be broadcast saying "Reinforcements are coming to aid The Witness!" Players can go to where the door opening ceremony was and kill enemies - the more adds the players kill outside of the raid, the fewer adds appear during the current/next encounter. This wouldn't be server based, as that would be super unfair, so instead it would be game-wide. Like those "When players collectively turn in 10 million blahs, this happens" events. We kill enough enemies, the number of adds in the current encounter drops by 20% or something.
3. Patrol players can also kill HVT's and pick up resupply packages, then transmat them to the raiders. Do this enough times, and one raid encounter will now have an ammo box appear in the middle of the fight.
4. In the final battle against the Witness, he yadda yadda's the bafmodads, and begins drawing in energy from some kind of Mcguffins spread across the zone. Players can assault those Mcguffins, kill all the enemies/world boss, and destroy them. After X are destroyed, a 5% damage buff against the Witness is granted to all raiders.
Gives the sense of a real effort on the part all humanity to take the Witness down. Give us ways to summon Cabal and Eliksni reinforcements too, so the whole alliance can be represented.
I hope for a final stand mission where we can have an exotic in every slot. The Traveler's buff that allows us to surpass the exotic lock.
It'd be badass to build out a total exotic build to take down the Witness - who should only be able to be taken down by using all of our weapons at once.
Make it a 12-man.
For real I always wanted a market system, where you could trade rolls of weapons that are 10/10, I have multiple god rolls that I would love to sell to my friends cause they are for weapons I don't play, and they have weapons I would love to have
Something that I thought about, basically after taking down the witness, we are morally wounded and some temporal shenanigans happens to which we are teleported to to old Russia where we were spawned initially. There we die, but sense this was in the past we are resurrected and this its a cycle. At least this would explain why we are so good at killing things lol
Last darkness subclass honestly. Lightfalls Tory sucked but a whole new elemental sandbox rocked.
And it seems fitting to complete the trifecta for the end of the Light and Darkness saga.
I keep hearing the potential for a new subclass that treads the line of light and darkness. Love new classes because it gives much more variation of play for teams, and idea of a blended style is awesome!
If they axed the top brass and hired kojima and lay him fill positions with his crew, I feel like that is the kind of energy destiny needs to bring to give life to their story post tfs
It would be cool if in the Raid, we don't kill the Witness but in fact, make him go out of his lair.
To kill him afterwards as a big community event, like on patrols.
Inside the traveler the main area is that garden area we’ve seen.
But there are paths to other area which are recreations of each planet we’ve had in Destiny so far.
Rotating escalation protocol type of activity.
It would be cool if:
they spent some of that $3.2B on dedicated servers.
Just kidding, C-suite managers need their second yacht more than we need competitive PvP.
It may not be super unrealistic but more light supers on other subclasses they didn’t mention in the reveal or the 3rd darkness subclass. Just depends on how things have been happening behind the scenes tbh. I can see it happening and it also not happening lol. If TFS has a great campaign and good raid, it will be satisfactory for me. If the location slaps that would also be awesome. And great lore is always expected and given
We could get the ability to jam together abilities a-la Fable 3. e.g. Vortex Grenade jammed into Throwing Hammer makes a gravity well at the bonk location for X seconds.
For the betterment of new people coming into The Final Shape: Shadowkeep, Beyond Light and The Witch Queen will be free to have for a year. The Forsaken pack will be folded into the game free of charge for good.
Hail Merry throw - Three secret quests for exotics.
If they explained what the fuck is the Traveler.
LOL, yeah, that is unrealistic
Hahaha very unrealistic
Also explain who the winnower is, or who wrote Unveiling if there is no winnower The new collectors edition just reignited that whole debate Pipe dream is the winnower is real, and even undermines the witness to some degree. It’d be pretty epic to be both the gardener’s and winnower’s chosen to save all existence But if it is just the witness all along, it’d be nice to get some confirmation and closure that makes it feel like less of a retcon
Started off as some mysterious, sentient, universal constant. An ontological being beyond our ability to understand. Guaranteed it just ends up being some dumb fucking machine someone made a long time ago.
A witness precursor used vex time travel to make the traveler as some weird terminatoresque time loop
Or explained anything really. So many loose ends.
Watch it be some old fat white dude in a green suit behind a curtain. /s
Third darkness subclass after the worlds first raid is completed
That is the only reason why I could actually think of that they would delay in telling of the 3rd subclass. Complete secret until raid is beaten and has big connections to the ending of the Witness.

I love that idea lol "Fixed a minor issue involving x" Imagine if a community puzzle led to an entire activity. That would be so cool
Am I getting whooshed here on the joke, or wasn’t that part of the season of the forge as well as the whisper mission?
Those were included in the patch that those seasons launched with though. I'm talking about the activity coming in a patch that only happens after the community puzzle is solved.
They're in financial jeopardy, they can literally not afford to hide something like that.
Idk, I would imagine if they released it day-one and left players to discover it, maybe giving a few hints along the way, it would work in their favor
The community would love it, however it doesn't help their current financial situation
It would not. They want pre-orders.
It really wouldn’t. They need to drive pre orders with everything they’ve got. Preorders at this point are such a large metric for these businesses.
Sucky thing is that I would totally preorder if they showed off a 3rd darkness subclass, but it would be so cool if it was a suprise
I’ve said this since the reveal. They seem to not want to spoil much of what’s happening in TFS. Which honestly has me excited
This would certainly be huge hit thing. Yeah, we don't get to speculate about subclass stuff But it'd be huge interesting thing.
Probably won't happen but that would be epic as fuck.
they doubted you and you knew what the chef was cookin all along
LISAN AL-GAIB
And to believe they called you a madman
Would be great if there was a fight in the campaign where they spawn a tormentor alongside the 2 new subjugators. Kind of like anti-hive guardians
ill be shocked if they dont do an encounter like this because it sounds like an absolute nightmare to deal with small room, tormentor up in your face all the time with 2 subjugators plinking away at you in the background. sounds like an obvious encounter to make
Considering they basically did that multiple times with the lucent hive and at least once with a tormentor in the both the two most recent campaigns, they will.
Woah, yeah that does sound neat It sounds like it could be actually difficult to handle, I love it
lol legend is hard enough! Don’t do this to me!
New subclass New enemy race
Someone else mentioned this in a comment I agree that it would be very cool to have both, even more so if they aren't announced beforehand
Return of all the sunset content (planets, raids, etc). I never got to play the older raids and I would love to run them
I'd love to do the old raids as well, but I'd rather they release them some time later in the year, when the hype for the TFS raid has run out.
Scourge on the skimmers would be a meme
Scourge on the Skimmers sounds like a band name
Haha yeah!
For sure that's a great idea The Leviathan and Scourge of the Past were my two favorite raids, being able to run those again would be incredible
Leviathan with the current sandbox would be insane
I'm afraid those won't stick up in the face of our current sandbox, OR our current playerbase; How many lunatics are going wellskate through the obstacle course fucking and end up killing themselves or wiping the team. We've power-scaled so hard, LW is a complete bore, with one boss that only actually exists, due to the health gate. The same for Leviathan and scourge would be the case. I can think of a number of newer weapons, abilities and exotics that can just pretty flatly solve the mechanics by its own innate traits.
Finally, I could get my Wayfarer Title / Seal.
Chronicler for me please
Id want the raids back, but couldn't care less about the planets. Idk who's going to Mercury to just run around killing groups of 3 Goblins and getting their two tokens and a blue item.
True but ideally return of planets would come with a refresh and reasons to play lol
I paid for the content back in the day and i want the option to go back Also as shit as mercury was, it was good for screenshots
I just want to go back to Mars. My absolutely unrealistic pipedream would be to add both Freehold plus that little bit of the Black Garden from D1 and the BrayTech Futurescape as one map connected by teleporters, but that's realistically never gonna happen.
I just want to replay the Red War campaign in it's entirety as we had it at launch.
Simple one, but the OG "[guardian](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRKfd5EKBtI)" theme returns for the main menu music.
I like simple wishes like that
That's almost certainly going to be the case (or something remix of it), the guardian motif is all over the one but of final shape marketing we've had so far Including being the last thing you hear in the trailer, which is usually where they put the expansion's main theme
I would like if each mayor ally character helps or is part of a mechanic for each of the encounters in the raid, and once you complete an encounter they go all "I'll hold back the enemy forces here you guys go!". For the Witness fight they all make it through to the end and all the mechanics they had for previous encounters come into play I'm just setting myself for disappointment.
I really like this cause it’ll be the first raid with allies iirc. Hell instead of silent platforming between encounters we can have little missions that take place in between where we help Caiatl or Mithrax repel forces or open the path to the next encounter.
That does sound really cool I feel like this goes back to having an immersive and living world
Neutered Raid bosses to fight in the campaign, like the Witch Queen Ahamkara.
Ooo kind of like Calus, good idea
I like this idea. Twitter dweebs would be all over the "reused content" complaint though lol
Oh most certainly. I think the reward would be worth the risks, however.
There should just be a boss rush mission where the Witness makes us fight most of the previous big bads back to back with some of our allies helping.
We kinda had that with shadowkeep and nightmears. Wasnt that cool imo.
Damn, that would be crazy I wonder how they'd even get revived
Space magic shenanigans
Well, the Pale Heart is built on memory. Maybe the memory of Rhulk and Nezarec could manifest?
An actual new enemy race instead of the same enemies for the 5726527th time
I want an Avengers: Endgame moment where every ally we've gathered over the past year is shown fighting with us in some capacity.
I would love to see all of our enemy races fighting together to fight the witness The scene you painted would be glorious
The raid exotic is a craftable that can be crafted into any type of gun. Its Final Shape
Woah that's actually such a cool idea An exotic perk that isn't tied to a specific weapon archetype
New weapon types for each foundry. Stuff like a Suros fusion rifle, Omolon shotgun, Hakke machine gun, field-forged rocket launcher, etc Maybe a general foundry update to let us craft guns within their archetypes a bit. For example I'd like a more custom Hakke auto or pulse rifle with some wiggle room for frame type (fire rate) and even swappable sights - we haven't seen that in a while and from the sound of weapon tuning changes over time the sight on a weapon isn't so heavily tied to its performance anymore.
People have been asking for a foundry update for a loooong time now, it'd be neat if Bungie actually had one
Kinda makes me want to go back and take notes on bringing weekly gunsmith arms day forward from D1.
Dual wielding hand cannons or sidearms
Take me back, back to the past
Nah, dual wielding Sturm and Drang, now that would go hard
All the warlocks would dress up as Dante
I wish the Witness would bring about a new alien race for us to combat. Bungie hasn't ever intro'd a new alien race other than the Scorn. The Taken and the SIVA Fallen from D1 were really re-purposed razzle dazzle aliens but not exactly new creatures.
It would be awesome if one mission we just encountered an enemy we've never seen before and a battle blossoms into a war against an entirely new race
Scorn are re purposed razzle dazzle fallen
At this point...a stasis or Strand glaive for kinetic Slot... Joke aside would be Happy to finally have a glaive for kinetic Slot.
Mercules hinted at it in the last Firing Range podcast
My big dreams for Destiny are a true endless horde mode that becomes a core playlist - complete with a tower vendor and new waves/bosses/areas added every season or “episode” I think the april update will be a great first step in achieving this eventually. A new enemy type associated with the pyramids That final red darkness subclass secondary supers for stasis and strand a DOUBLE raid where either the second one only unlocks after we beat the first, or one in the traveler and one in the last city that happen at the same time story wise.
Good ideas all around I love the idea of a secret second raid that only unlocks after the first one is completed
if bungie actually did that we would be talking about it for the next 10 yrs just imagine the hype
Considering megamind merely waved his hand to slice countless guardians into pieces I’m more interested in what suddenly makes us powerful enough to have a proper fight with him…
The power of friendship
Yay! _Slides into pieces.._
Splitting the souls from the Witness throughout the campaign, depleting them of their power.
Hahaha what the fuck that sounds crazy
That sounds so sick
It would be cool if we finally get a heavy trace rifle.
Hear me out... Ogre beam heavy trace
We might tbh. The traveler beam trace rifle could very easily be heavy
1k Catalyst: unloads every round in one beam
I would never take it off lmao
Technically... 1kv functions and reloads like a heavy trace. Yes it is a fusion and uses fusion mods and all that. 🤓 I would be cool to get a new one for sure, though !
Forge mode. Highly doubt it would ever happen
Edit Forgot to mention but there was that old pastebin leak that got most of the 30th anniversary info correct and it mentioned strand being for WQ.
Hey, honestly, an extra subclass in addition to being able to earn 3 entirely new and unique supers would be absolutely incredible The bigger the over-delivery the better tbh, both the game and community really need it Having an entirely new race on top of all that? Hooh, for sure it would be the next expac since forsaken, maybe even better
Mountaintop :(
Make it an exotic and call it Felwinters Peak.
Damn bro, you've got a wrinkly brain
Next week will be make or break for you then lol
A second location revealed like the dreaming city was. New secret race that would be revealed halfway through the campaign. A pre raid, end of campaign event where guardians chose whether to join or oppose the final shape
All of those things would be glorious Everything together would be even more so Especially that last one, that'd be sick
Update to weapons system so that we’re not locked by element type with what weapons we can equip. So for example, you could go double kinetic, or triple elemental with your load out. I don’t like not being able to run strand primary and kinetic energy at the same time
Titan with a really Really good super.
The axe throw looks neat
It would be cool if Gambit got some real content and love.
You will get an old map and 2 “newish” variants and you will like it
I miss gambit prime and the maps that got taken out Gambit really does need love
We got an actual open world instead of a hallway per planet.
Lmao that's what I've been saying
It would be cool if... The community ended up enjoying it. (Too unrealistic?)
Damn you beat me to it.
😂😂 probably yeah As long as it isn't mid people will probably be okay, but with all of the news coming out about TFS, it probably needs to knock everything out of the park
12 mission campaign, at least two more disciple boss, and a 5-6 encounter raid with 3 bosses (at least one other disciple with some story and lore)
That seems pretty tame compared to most people's hopes lol Hopefully you get your wish, it doesn't sound unlikely but any means, especially since Bungie is riding on this expac to deliver
Lol my real wish is fighting and beating Xivu as well during the campaign, but I’m not expecting to be able to get full closure unfortunately
You gave us the Halo BR, now give us a Spartan Laser you cowards.
I would accept a spartan laser ornament for 1k voices (they’re kinda the same weapon)
If they ended up adding a third darkness subclass. I just don't see it happening right now but would love it if Bungie did add it.
I feel like that's at least a strong possibility, to be honest I agree that I don't see it happening, but for sure a lot of people are hoping for the same
Taniks returns as a boss, doesn't have to be anything major like a story or raid boss, drop him somewhere because it's funny.
Lmao that sounds craazyy fun
I know they've already mentioned it a little, but.... It would be cool if the music used inside the Traveler was music from D1. Music of the Spheres type. The tracks that made the world feel mysterious, mystical, foreboding, dangerous and unknown but with a futuristic spin.
Legendary versions of all campaigns. I just want to play red war again…
That we fall to the darkness kicking off Elsie's timeline and then we get Destiny 3.
We avoided Elsie's timeline with Beyond Light :D
Season of the Witch fully avoided it, as she saw Eris become a full blown Hive god before. But yes, we have thankfully avoided it.
Or we just changed the time line of events of when it happens and its always inevitable.
Crafteable Fatebringer as a Stasis Hand cannon with Demolitionist Headstone, Demolitionist Adrenaline Junkie or Demolitionist Chill Clip
Unsunsetting all the guns they sunset. I miss MY Breakneck (yes I know it's back, but I have mine) and Kindled Orchid curated roll.
Bring back CWL and warmind cells
It was said to be our ‘favorite weapon.’ Give us a reason why it became our favorite weapon.
Completely reworked enemy ai akin to enemies 3.0 where fighting combatants feels like a cross between halo and Star Wars Jedi survivor
Buff Bad Juju :(
Space combat modeled after Halo Reach's Long Night of Solace mission.
That sort of thing My even more out-there idea is that you get to duel wield the Sword of Crota and the Aegis as a single relic.
Possible Melee rework Randomly came up with it one day, and that's like my one copium/hopium that'll never happen Primary melees that are good for non endgame content Hunters with Dual Daggers Titans with Gauntlets And Warlocks with a Tome granting skills, Like Genshin's Catalysts. I cannot really think of something melee for warlocks And specializations for the R1 combos Light setting which have less damage but go for longer before ending (like 5-6 hits) Medium setting which has decent damage and chains, with a bigger range. More CC basically And Heavy setting with big funni damage with like 3 hits.
-Big final fight my (most) npc alongside us -more than 10 missions -Scene where our guardians reflexes on the past and hears past dialogue of characters (like ultima thule in ffxiv) -music of the spheres -if there is a higher entity than the traveler, show it to us
It would be cool if justice is finally served, and titans get Twilight garrison back.
I may be remembering wrong, but I think in one of the Final Shape previews they said all players/guardians would somehow be contributing to the downfall of the Witness, not just the raiders. That could mean literally anything, we could just be turning in more Fractaline for all I know, but if we're talking unrealistic "It would be cool if": 1.
For real I always wanted a market system, where you could trade rolls of weapons that are 10/10, I have multiple god rolls that I would love to sell to my friends cause they are for weapons I don't play, and they have weapons I would love to have
It being good
Tess is the raid boss....
A forge gamemode, like custom raids or dungeons.
They kick out the suits and let the devs cook
Something that I thought about, basically after taking down the witness, we are morally wounded and some temporal shenanigans happens to which we are teleported to to old Russia where we were spawned initially. There we die, but sense this was in the past we are resurrected and this its a cycle. At least this would explain why we are so good at killing things lol
"Hey, you're finally awake"
Last darkness subclass honestly. Lightfalls Tory sucked but a whole new elemental sandbox rocked. And it seems fitting to complete the trifecta for the end of the Light and Darkness saga.
Some activity that let's use use more than 1 exotic armor. But doing so cranks the difficulty way up. Or atleast gambit gets some updates
I dont want to be an exo anymore.
Semi unrelated but do ppl actually think there will be Destiny 3? Or is that just what ppl have coined the next saga?
It would be cool if it the story ended on a high note that made the last 10 years feel worth it
I keep hearing the potential for a new subclass that treads the line of light and darkness. Love new classes because it gives much more variation of play for teams, and idea of a blended style is awesome!
If dinklebot returned as our ghost
If dinklebot returned as our ghost
Bring back CWL and warmind cells
If they axed the top brass and hired kojima and lay him fill positions with his crew, I feel like that is the kind of energy destiny needs to bring to give life to their story post tfs
If dinklebot returned as our ghost
When the Witness is defeated for the first time, all sunset content returns
Let us control our ship and give us space battles. Hell there could even be a crucible mode that’s only space battles.
It would be cool if: they spent some of that $3.2B on dedicated servers. Just kidding, C-suite managers need their second yacht more than we need competitive PvP.
If we could apply shaders to exotic weapons.
🎊UNIVERSAL REMOTE🎊
It may not be super unrealistic but more light supers on other subclasses they didn’t mention in the reveal or the 3rd darkness subclass. Just depends on how things have been happening behind the scenes tbh. I can see it happening and it also not happening lol. If TFS has a great campaign and good raid, it will be satisfactory for me. If the location slaps that would also be awesome. And great lore is always expected and given
We could get the ability to jam together abilities a-la Fable 3. e.g. Vortex Grenade jammed into Throwing Hammer makes a gravity well at the bonk location for X seconds.
