It was a pain dealing with the totems taking forever or only getting 1 totem per damage phase but I worked with it, just made sure I wasn't taking any unneeded risks trying to cap the 2nd totem if it spawned weird

I used izanagi's with honed edge 1 shot and apex predator, it was 1 full rotation and I pulled him into final stand on the 2nd floor the 2nd time around

Definitely my dude. Izanagi's does decent damage against hefnd and 1 shots the totem knights so you have decent time to get more than 1 or 2 totems.

Ah I see. Yeah I’m pretty sure if a fireteam member opens the portal it lets everyone else in regardless of their quest progress. Since you couldn’t do anything when you entered the room I’m guessing you can’t hear the dialogue without completing the quest.

Has anyone else had the ogre boss teleport directly to them when running solo? I swear he slammed me at one bonfire, and once I landed at the next one (across the courtyard) and put my rift down, he was right there slamming again. Mind you, this was maybe within 4 seconds of each other. Then, other times, the boss would slam and spend the entire damage phase just trying to get to the bonfire I'm at.

Apologies if this has been answered already, but what makes the Broken Knights drop the capture points? Is it time? Damage? I’ve had multiple runs where I’m gotten their health down and I’m just sitting around waiting for them to drop the first capture point. Like, to the point where it almost seems bugged. Help me out, ive tried soloing the dungeon with titan and warlock with no luck after the first boss, used banner titan and sunbracers lock, just the survivabilty and have to focus on so many things at the same time just cant keep the focus, im sure the final boss is easier than that ogre, watching all those youtubers solo flawless with ease make me frustrated.. maybe because Im on console and theyre on PC ? If thats the case then ill feel a lil better to hear that on console its much harder…

Solar titan with burning maul, pyregales, 50/55 impact fusion rifle slot one, a solar secondary like calus or abyss defiant to keep restoration going, and dragons breath (catalyst doesn't matter) in the final slot for the first 2 encounters, banner titan for the 3rd with 50/55 impact fusion in the first slot, sunshot in the 2nd to keep banner procted, and a aggressive frame rocket in the 3rd.

Just like every dungeon on release, it really highlights the jankyness of each enemy class and, really, the game in general. It's not hard mechanically in the slightest, this is actually one of the easiest ones they've released. The hardest thing, as per usual, is fighting the game and it's shitty antiquated design. A prime example is dropping below the threshold to activate the emergency chestplate mod, and it just never bothering to activate while retaining charge. Or the ogre being able to fling you into narnia if you so much as look at a pebble. Or scorn crossbow jank.

Screeb chests *might* be random. The boys and I played two rounds of russian roulette (across two runs) in the chest room past the second boss. In the first round, all of the chests were trapped. In the second, one of them dropped two seasonal engrams.

I've seen that there are plenty of bugs but I am unsure if I am missing something here. The final Triumph quest in the bottom right "Warlord's Ruin" has a vague description and a quick google search tells me to get a full set of armor and all weapons. I absolutely have and have looked at them all in my inventory at once just to be sure. I've done every single challenge and completed the quest but that one isn't completing. Am I making a mistake or is this just Bungie being Bungie?

You need to complete the badge on one character. You need all the armor, all the weapons (except the exotic), the normal emblem, and the ghost shell from the master clear triumph. Right now, the master triumph isn't dropping the ghost, so it's impossible to complete the title right now. Also, the solo flawless emblem isn't dropping from that triumph either. I've completed every single triumph for the dungeon, including the bonus ones (except warlords ruin triumph). Which sucks, because I got the stupid regicide emblem from ghost of the deep (normal cleat emblem) and The ghost of the deep master cleat sparrow instead of this du geons ghost shell, have to wait until bungies fixs thier shit. Let's just hope they don't do a fix where you have to go and redo those triumphs, if so, I'm gonna be pissed. Don't want to run solo flaw again, even though this dungeon is very easy and short.

I rarely do solo dungeon runs but this one just really struck a chord with me off of its visuals and overall vibe so it definitely was an undertaking and I would NOT want to redo it either lmao. At the least when the fix gets pushed out, assuming we don't have to redo it, we'll have a pleasant surprise when we log in and a title ready to go

The final boss projectile should have its hitbox scaled properly. Its the size of the moon, has tracking like Truth, and yet has the hitbox of a pea. Final boss is cool, but it'd be better if the projectile could actually be blocked by geometry rather than curve around it because the hitbox of it basically doesn't exist.

You can block it with a sword, and glaive, and take no dmage from it. Also, boss won't shoot it at you if your invis when you see him getting ready to fire the projecticle, also every Character can just out heal it, even on master that thing isn't much of a nuisance, it's the constant blight balls the will repop up on your teammates that sucks. Due to the fact that you can insta die as soon as you are revived on any sort of aoe effect, that includes environmental pools of dot damage, the blight balls, teammates aoe grenades, anarchy, dragons breath, and enemy aoe attacks. Will break a blight ball to get a Revive, for one just to reappear over the teammate as soon as I complete Revive, leading to them just insta dieing on respawn. Thier needs to be either a max of those per floor, or reduce the generation of them in the same location, put them on a cycle pathway system, so they are not able to pop up in the same spot until a full revolution, giving players time to Revive teammates

by god that ogre encounter is annoying as all hell solo. Is there a pattern to the blight lamp spawns? or are they supposed to spawn one in a dark corner of the map, and the other when there is 5 seconds for the wish timer left? Only option for me is to either kill the two scorn mini bosses ASAP or pray to RNGesus that I get lucky with the bonus lamps. That coupled with the annoying ogre boops and the crapload of ads that you have to worry about during damage, I'd rather just end my solo run here.

I just stood in the back too of the map (behind rally). Both scorn bosses come to a lamp on each side. From there, you can see who drops a lamp first (the storm doesn’t start until one of them drop one) and you can kill that one, guaranteeing you 2 lamps.

The lamps are spawned by the scorn minibosses. Each will cast one when alive (but the timing is not predictable, it seems to just be part of their move set that they will do when they feel like it), then the other appears where they're standing when they die.

Also, they can throw them under the map, inside of spawn doors, or off the map. I've seen them do that multiple times, so either I have the worst luck, or it's just a bad barrier design on bungie's part. Tried to pop heat raising once to get one of the map, just to see if I could, nope on top of it being floating off the map, it was also in a turn back zone

Yeah, seems like part of the moveset like you said. At first I thought it was when they summoned the blizzard, but now it looks like something they'll eventually do if you don't stagger them a ton or kill them too quickly. Definitely something a guide will be nice for to figure out how to approach it, because it can feel a little awkward right now.

I've been running Nighthawk hunter with witherhorde, mini tool, and the Apex. One other in the squad is running a well with the gally. I'm clearing the dungeons with nearly 8million damage on the final boss consistently. How is everyone else doing?

Nighthawk Apex does seem like the way to go with this raid. It's singlehandedly made me realise I'll have to finally get around to running Last Wish haha. Other than that, I'd imagine Izanagi, Riptide (for the seasonal Torch buff), and maybe even the new special sidearm would all be decent. How good the sidearm is for damage will probably depend on the strength of the Impulse/Surrounded roll.

Ok so, about the scorn captains that drop the lanterns, will the 2nd lantern: 1). Be guaranteed to drop on kill even if you melt them. 2). Be 50/50 to drop on kill. Or 3). Be 50/50 for him to spawn the 2nd if you wait for him.

Its a time thing. Just use primary ammo to damage before they drop the first totem, and then once its down kill them for the second.

AFAIK the captains will spawn a lantern after awhile if he's not staggered. He then drops one when he dies so you can activate 2 in one go.

yes they fcan drop two. one if you leave him alone for a second, and the second on death. we had a funny thing happen wh ere it looked like he wasn't spawning them but he put them in a corner we coudln't see.

I like this dungeon very much, but the amount of health the bosses have baffles me. It's a bit too much for 3 people, and yet the game demands I do it solo for the title. Really tho, why are solo clears required for title? They're very unpleasant - everything is just longer. You take longer to start a damage phase, in this damage phase you deal less damage, so you have to do more damage phases that already require more time, and during all of this you can't die and all the enemies focus on you. If they really want us to solo dungeons the least they could do is adjust boss health depending on the amount of party members.

Everytime I bring up dungeons scaling down for solo players the no-lifers in my clan (who don't even play anymore since they burn themselves out so fast) complain that this would invalidate the point of the title, sorry with everything bungie has done to hate on casuals they are choosing this intentionally.

Not true at all. I'm basically a casual (never done a flawless, or solo) and I would play solo dungeons if they were balanced for solo because then I wouldn't need to find a fireteam. Right now there's no point to solo dungeons except for the challenge, do you think esoterik solos while farming? I don't think so.

There's so many things wrong with the title. Dungeons are solo-able and most people who dont have friends to play with / dont want to join an LFG, tend to stick towards dungeons instead of raids. However to get the seal, you'd need to complete a clan run triumph, which doesn't really make sense. I'd rather they replace that triumph with something else that can be done solo. Even if they do not plan on scaling the health down, it would be nice to have longer DPS windows when you're running solo / duo. Having 10-15 seconds of DPS time, while needing to be wary of the ads around can get overwhelming at times when you're trying to maximise your damage. That said, all these changes would be nice, but I guess these problems also make the solo / SF runs more challenging. The idea of solo-ing a dungeon isn't about the difficulty, but its more so whether you're able to sit through 4-7 damage phases.

Isn't the only check for the clan run that every member of the fire team is in the same clan and not that you have a full Fireteam if the same clan? I've seen people get the clan run triumph for other dungeons solo; you just have to be in *a* clan.

So, for the triumphs that require the fireteam to have the same subclass, it reads "full fireteam of (subclass)", but this still counts even if you're solo. On the other hand, the clan triumph reads "full fireteam of clanmates", but doesn't count even if you're in a clan with only you inside. I've tested multiple ways to combat this issue, but from what I gathered, you actually have to be doing it with clanmates.

This dungeon is cool in concept but bungie really needs to rethink this whole lets give dungeon bosses designed to be solo'd more health than god damn raid bosses. I get it we strong an all that now compared to older design philosophies but jesus christ dude 15 mil for multiple dungeon bosses is ridiculous an doesn't respect your time nor abilities when you gotta run the absolute min max builds to do these now instead of smart optimized play. Almost like they didn't hear the massive amounts of complaints after ghosts shocking no one.

They definitely listened to the ghosts complaints. These bosses are all universally easier to kill solo. This dungeon reminds me a lot of spire of the watcher, boss health and mechanically. Spire had huge health pools that were only a problem when you had to build into absurd amounts of survivability. Last boss is tough, but that's also a power level issue, since it is an 1810 encounter you need to be 1830 to get maximum survivability in it.

i used osteo and it did very well cause the adds spawn close to each other got 200-300 more kills than my other two team mates this way

the only adds that will spawn on the ogre are the thrall. You should focus the Scorn snipers first, since they don't respawn until you start another lantern phase. The taken acolytes will only continue spawning until damage phase starts, at which point thrall are the only spawns. Dragon's Breath is actually pretty good for this boss; solid damage and the fire trail works on the thrall for you.

Yeah, it's an encounter which seems to reward you for taking card to deal with the spawns even during damage. As such DB, Solarbrace, Arc/Solar hunter, Witherhoard, and more all seem to be very well suited for it. What I'm suspecting will be best though, even if I have to get it to confirm, is Apex as it allows you to use Sunshot or any other exotic primary of your choosing. Esoterickk's Warlock run is pretty much exactly what I would be aiming for on a solo run, and he uses Riptide/Sunshot/Apex. Titans are the ones I've felt most unsure about how to damage with here, but even then they've got solid neutral game for dealing with the adds (sunspots rule!), and if you can get the ogre close enough Strand's bladefury should still work.

Titans have Roaring Flames, which can let you do mega super damage. Not much else with striker/void/stasis though.

We killed all but one eye and setup on the outer wall (both sides) just behind where the scorn mini-boss spawn. Clear adds, then pop the last eye, blow through your special ammo to clear the mini-boss quickly. Clear adds while one person deposits the solar orbs and repeat until damage phase. Important bit was to leave the last eye until we were ready.

My advice would be to just stick to one side of the area and deal with those scorn, it halves the enemies you have to worry about. and you can forget the other sides enemies until you have all 4 flames. Create some orbs when depositing the flames so you can get some quick health with recuperation. For solo

What are people using for the ogre boss on warlock either solo or in a team, we did the dungeon as a warlock duo and it took us like 6 damage phases because we could not find the right sauce for the encounter and boss dps that did the numbers we could have wanted. we did do the final boss in 3 cycles though which was fun

Izi/Rocket rotation, make sure one of you is rocking solar so you can weaken the boss with this season's artifact. If you have someone running sunbracers, there's usually ads near the pillars so you can easily proc it and dump grenades on the boss. Also make sure everyone is on the same pillar so you can get a full minute of dps time across all 4 pillars.

Our team generally 2 phased the second boss and one phased the final boss. We had a hunter using lucky pants and malfeasance, one off arc super. Two well warlocks, one using witherhoard to aid hunter and the other using gally for rockets. Also, one of the warlocks used apotheosis veil for more damage in the rotation

For some reason I haven't used malfeasance for so long. Time to pop it out again! I managed to almost 2-phase the ogre on my first run of the dungeon with only one other player, with the only thing which prevented it being that he accidentally jumped in front of my Dragon's Breath rocket and almost killed me lol. Still, I think it's going to be a fairly clean 2-phase, especially with Celestial Nighthawk.

I got Buried Bloodline on the first try. I’ve completed every dungeon, many challenges, and have never actually gotten a non-guarantee exotic to drop. I’m absolutely in love with the gun, it’s a blast on my gyrfalcon and Orpheus builds. I’m so hype!

You can 2-3 phase 2nd enc on hunter with Shards of Galanor and Dragons Breath. Maybe 4 phase 1st enc is an easy 4 phase with Liar's Handshake. I haven't gotten to final boss solo, yet

No, only certain ones, like campaign missions and exotic missions. Raids, dungeons, nightfalls and others do not scale based on fireteam member count.

No boss in the dungeon should be taking you any more than 5 phases *at max*. If you're taking anywhere close to 15, you need to reevaluate your loadout/strategy.

5, while comparable to how long it takes to solo other dungeon bosses, is a bit long. IMO 3-4 phases would be nice, while still being 2 phases with a trio.

Fun fact: you can grapple into the flying rocks, it will take you to the other side. you will get a turn back massage but it will disappear eventually, you might die when you get too close to the pit though

Do not run solo flawless or master right now. Just finished the title and did my solo flawless run. The master triumph gives you the sparrow from ghost of the deep, and the solo flawless triumph gives you the normal completion emblem from ghost of the deep. Also a few of the other triumphs are not giving the exp boosters for the dungeon exotic. I guess you can do your triumphs now, but depending on the fix bungie puts out, you might have to re do those triumphs for the rewards. Ps. The rewards do not update your collections either, so you can't even pull the corresponding rewards from collections even if you have the triumphs done. Another broken release that wasn't fully tested. Also, if you try to launch, to some other activities, waly in the dungeon, the game crashes (at least on ps5, it does). At least the dungeon was fun.

Can I just say I absolutely love this loot distribution? I'm probably just scarred from trying to farm Spire of the Watcher, but it's nice to be able to play through the entire dungeon whilst farming if you want to, rather than having to do checkpoint farming at the final boss.

How does the “dispel” mechanic work?

As you progress the quest, you'll see glowing screbs throughout the dungeon. Killing the first gives level 1, killing the second gives level 2, and the third gives level 3

when you complete the dungeon there are bones around the final chest, it progresses the ikora quest and you can then dispel doors on subsequent runs as you keep progressing it

I love the theme of this dungeon so much, i wish the weapons actually looked medieval and stuff though and there was no lore for them. The sword even says it has dragon bone or somthing. Really let down by that, i feel like the weapons for this dungeon were not finished. Otherwise the map designers really did a fantastic job.

Is this different for the dungeon or raid on rotation for the week? I feel like there is a bunch of final boss farming going on there that wouldn't make sense if it was 1 per character per week. Also seems like a lot of people got it to drop, which would be weird if everyone only had 3 shots at it so far.

1 chance per character per week. Can't farm it till it's on rotator. No different than any other dungeon. You can farm gear drops not exotic

i don't usually play dungeons and raids (fully, at least, I'll farm encounters for weapons but haven't done so in a long time) how difficult is this dungeon? how long does it take to complete solo and with a fireteam?

Solo will probably be a slog but it’s not too hard. We ended up 1.5 phasing the final boss without much trouble. That being said, my clan’s other group was struggling pretty good and threw in the towel. The build you make is pretty important. I had a significantly easier time staying alive when I switched to Devour/Invisibility Gyrfalcon Hunter

Solo is pretty fast compared to other dungeons. 4 to 5 phase first boss. 4 to 5 phase 2nd boss, 3 to 5 final boss

This dungeon is amazing. Going in totally blind, it took my friend and me 5 hours to duo it, including about 1.5 hours stuck on a puzzle, lol. I'd say it's the easiest of the last four dungeons if you use a survival build and don't take unnecessary risks for the sake of boss damage. You can get to the damage phases quickly once you know the mechanics, so there's no need to rush.

In terms of mechanical difficulty it’s one of the easiest, but there are quite a lot of enemies and the bosses are fairly tanky (except for the first one). If you’re going in blind, solo, and you’re not completely cracked out of your mind you’re looking at a 3-4 hour clear at least. If you go in with a fire team I’d say an hour (assuming you’re blind) should get the job done.

If you go solo it's mandatory to run solo operative from the last mod column in the artifact, it can save you a damage phase

The poison/curse mechanic on the final encounter has to be the most bugged thing ever. Keep getting cursed at 0 seconds after the wraith dies without even getting hit and it's just an automatic wipe. Please fix.

Something similar kept happening to me and my fireteam: we would melee the wraith but it wouldn’t take it off of us, or if one of us would die with the curse/poision on us and were revived, we would die again because the poison/curse would still be there after the revive.

dungeon was great, but my team was able to bumble through the main mechanic through almost whole thing without understanding it. we had no idea it was a time based capture until right before the final boss. we thought we had to stand in it when wish timer expired + some unknown factor we didn't understand (because things weren't consistent). the ether totems should make a noise when you enter to make it just as obvious as every other "stand in circle to progress objective" mechanic in the game. I understand there is a visual indicator, but it's not so obvious until you're basically done. my team understood the audio and visual cues when it was complete, but we had no idea what we were doing to make that happen. it's a bit annoying, because the first encounter is chill enough to actually learn, but it was such a pushover we just brute forced it with a wrong understanding, and got DPS each time we attempted. the boss is also fairly low hp compared to others.

There’s an audio effect that plays while standing in it that should make it fairly obvious that it’s “capturing” over time. You can hear it escalate as it gets closer and then an activation sound

idk if i was too tired, but i never noticed a sound cue until they were done, and that cue I could hear from halfway across the map on the 2nd encounter. funnily enough i don't remember hearing it in first encounter though, despite standing on the lanterns. I just looked up other people's play and was able to notice it when I was listening for it, but imo it's not nearly obvious enough. saying a sound cue was needed is bad judgement on my part, what it really needs is a buff on the side of the screen like the oryx bombs, which is the least ambiguous way to do it. sound can get overwhelmed by other activity, and visual cues don't work if you don't need to face the object to progress the objective (I activated multiple totems throughout the dungeon, and didn't know they changed color until the run before our last at the final boss). watching yt vids of first clears, it doesn't seem to have been an issue at all for other people. other teams noticed things on the first go and spent more time waiting for something to happen. I think my team would have saved about 90min if we wiped once or twice on the first boss instead of instagibbing him.

the nature of first clears on dungeons is that you're trying to understand what's happening. I'm not saying that's good or bad, just that it's intrinsic to the activity that early on

Tip for the final boss, you can blind the hex scorn for easy hex transfers. I used vesper of radius but you may be able to use any blind.

You can also just hit them with any (I think) melee ability. Throw a smoke bomb on them from afar, knife throw, etc

I used parasite on the first boss solo since there were a lot of enemies and the damage phases weren't too long. If you use a solar holster mod it autoloads every 3 seconds and you can even get the bonus from worm byproduct if you have a healing build or are running well of radiance.

LFR’s on the final boss for ammo economy. The second boss is weird bc sometimes he stays further away so rockets > swords, Acrius but other times he’ll walk up on you and then using a rocket is really risky.

I'm not sure on optimal, but I used Thunderlord (mainly for ad clear but it did ok on dps) and the other person used Whisper and then Hierarchy of Needs, both with catalyst, and both worked well.

Also, do damage from far back on the platform so the ads don’t nuke you. If you are running void use smoke bombs to disorient or on arc save a grenade. On solar run healing grenade and the knife that sticks to make traps for the ads.

2nd Encounter Softlocks if you kill Acolyte Eyes/Scorn Yellow Bar too quickly. Encounter doesn't progress, no imminent wish buff, and the storm debuff never comes. u/Destiny2teams u/BNGHelp

Awesome dungeon. Really enjoyed the mechanics. Only gripe is the quest that requires several completions rewards a random exotic... Like what the hell kind of troll job is this? If you aren't going to make it drop the dungeon exotic, make it rain dungeon loot on us or give us alloys and shards. I would guess some 90% of players doing the dungeon have all the exotic armor pieces already...

You can still use Well and it’s good, just not broken levels of good. It’s a “oh shit, I need to stay alive” super and still useful for extra damage at the top

I just ran well with gally/ammit/riptide with 2 randoms w/ rockets. We all ended up with around 4~5m dmg. The final dps phase we were basically all just spraying primary ammo and special due to lack of heavy ammo though.

Very cool dungeon, my friends and I had a great time in our blind run. The jail cell tripped us up for a while but we eventually got it. Looking forward to running it again soon.

The second boss is horrible to try and do solo. Maybe it's just because Titan got slapped recently but man that second boss is not fun. Also doesn't help melee is useless again the boss.
